Boris heard the crack in the younger man's voice, and his own smile faded. He wasn't entirely sure what had happened, but he knew that this was a subject to tread lightly around. "What are their names?" he asked.
The portions kind of surprised her, though she didn't know why. For some reason, Nichole had expected the food to be rationed out among the inhabitants of the base. Then again, this was the WK, a place for shifters. If anyone knew how much a shifter needed to eat, it would be these people. Thanking the people who gave her the food, the young woman walked behind Anja, searching for a spot to sit and eat. When Donald suddenly appeared before them, she feared he was going to try and tell his daughter to leave her be. Instead, he seemed to be... relieved? "Yeah, she came and found me a little over an hour or so ago," Nichole responded. "She's been showing me around the place."
It took maybe half an hour before Christoph walked back to the camp he shared with his grandfather. Using his shirt as a make shift basket, he had collected as many berries as he could to take with him. That is, if they would be traveling as humans. The boy hadn't thought about what he would do with his food if he had to shift.

Ok that sounds good. And yeah I think they should be there for awhile so that way also everything is new to them and the only things they remember are basically history.))

((Hey, Zuresian. I'm not sure where Tom's gone but if you want to move Mariana we can find someone to talk to her. I don't know what the twins can be doing at this point.))
"Alec and Rinn," said Kurt, the corner of his mouth now quirking upward, even as his voice remained low.
"It's been fine," Anja muttered sourly. "It's practically a military base. It's impossible to wander anywhere dangerous. Somebody'd stop us." Her father nodded. "I know. That's what I told myself." "And you can drop the Irish accent," Anja added. Daniel's eyes widened in alarm and he automatically cast his eyes on Nichole.
Mรถer had just finished eating and shifted back into human form a few minutes before the boy returned. His eyes widened in exasperation when he saw how many berries he had brought back. "You planning on carrying those, boy? You're a shapeshifter. Nothing could possibly make finding food any easier."
((Christoph does have a clothes chip. Just so you're aware.))

"They sound like a handful," Boris commented. "Are you married?"
"She told everything," Nichole told him. "Or, at least all she knew. Don't worry, I'm not going to use it against you." She wouldn't even know how she would use it against him. They were both shifters after all. Even if he didn't like her much anymore, if one ratted out the other, then they would be putting themselves at risk.
Christoph did his best to not shrink at his grandfather's words. "I know, but I thought I would bring them just in case," he replied. He glanced down at berries in his shirt. "I have a chip, so it won't be hard to carry all of it."

Kurt shook his head slowly. But I want to be, he thought but did not say out loud. He looked up at Boris and clarified, "They aren't my biological children. I took them in. Three years ago. But... they are mine. Mine and my girlfriend's." He sighed. "It's complicated."
Daniel's heart skipped a beat. It wasn't that he hadn't anticipated this... but he had certainly hoped that Anja had kept quiet. This wasn't safe. But there was no going back now. After a long silence, he held out his hand to Nichole and said in his native German lilt, "Daniel Fischer."
"Berries aren't going to tide you over this whole trip," Mรถer said, a warning note to his voice. "You're going to need some protein. You know that, don't you?"

Boris nodded in understanding. "There is nothing wrong with that," he said. "Were they with you when you were captured?" There was a possibility that, while they may not have been captured as well, they might have been caught in the cross fire of the raid. He hoped that wasn't the case.
Nichole didn't react right away. Donald, or Daniel as he was apparently named, had been furious with her only hours ago. Now he was reintroducing himself to her less than eagerly. After a few seconds pause, she accepted the gesture of what was hopefully a new start, shaking his hand. "Nice to meet you," she muttered.
"Yeah," Christoph mumbled, "but I still want to bring them." He felt that he would have to eat whatever was hunted, but he wasn't excited about the idea. Knowing that he had something good to eat at least gave him some comfort.

He shook his head. "I was captured from a base. We had a house... but it was in theโ" His breath hitched. He took a moment, breathing steadily as he could, and finally managed to finish, "It was in the range of destruction."
Daniel released her hand, and sat back down. Locking eyes with his daughter, he gestured for her to take one of the empty seats near him. Anja, not seeing much of a choice, set down her tray, but muttered, "I'm gonna get some salt and stuff." In a flash she was gone. Daniel looked up at Nichole and said, tone neutral, "She likes you, a lot. I'm glad she wasn't alone. But only because I don't see what further damage you could do. It seems unlikely that you're a spy." He breathed out slowly. "You're just a civilian who ruined our lives."
Mรถer waved his hand in a dismissive gesture. "I won't stop you." He'd said all that needed saying. "Now, let's get going. We have a lot of ground to cover. Given the choice, and knowing that we'll mostly be traveling through terrain much like this, what animal would you suggest we take the form of?"

When he went into the military, Boris knew that death would become a close friend. Men and women alike risked their lives and took lives on a regular basis. If you couldn't handle that, then you shouldn't have signed up for the job. However, when the innocent were threatened with the dealings of war, that's when he had a problem. "I'm sorry," he told him. "I hope that they are alright. I truly do."
And they were back to handing out blame. "I would like to point out that you were the one who hired me," Nichole stated. "You didn't have to call my number off the ad I had placed in town." When the woman moved to the country, she knew she would need a job. So to get her by until she could find something better, she had placed a baby-sitting ad in the paper with her phone number. It wasn't long before Daniel had called her, looking for someone to stay and watch over Anja. "She's a good kid," she continued. "And smart. I don't think it's a good idea to keep her in the dark about everything that's going on. Or would you think that would just further ruin your life?"
Christoph nodded, thankful that Mรถer hadn't tried to talk him out of bringing the berries. "I would say a bird would be the best," he answered. "That way we don't have to worry about walking through all the under growth and following overgrown paths."

Kurt unconsciously rubbed his eyes, though they remained dry. "Thanks," he managed. "I do too."
That wasn't the problem. The problem was... well. He couldn't address the problem directly in his mind, much less out loud. That was the whole point. "Blaming me for hiring you," he said, keeping his voice relatively level, though his fists were clenched against the table, "is like blaming a man who is robbed blind by a cabbie for stepping into the cab in the first place."
Mรถer nodded thoughtfully. It was a reasonable answer, but he didn't want to spend too much time in the skies, if it could be avoided. They had put a good amount of distance between themselves and Svydivok, but not enough for comfort. "You are not wrong," he said, "but flying is very tiring, as you well know. If we want to continue at a steady pace, we must stick to the ground. What then?"

((Ice - sounds good on the tribe. I agree that they should be older. And, since shifters are immortal, we can still easily get that mix of people familiar and unfamiliar with society with the tribe being even 100+ years old. We just have to work with older characters. As for Viktoriya and Louis, yes, I like that idea.
Rainy - Okay, that makes sense. I just wanted to make sure you were aware.))
"You don't know what the RedKingdom is really about," Andrew growled. "You only know the lies the WhiteKingdom spreads about us." He took another step back towards the door. Perhaps he should just leave now. Why was he wasting time here arguing with a prisoner?

Also the tribe sounds pretty interesting, I could totally make a few more characters to join)
"The only thing I know about the White Kingdom is that at least they conduct all of their experiments in a more humane way. I'm only telling you what I've seen." Then again, she still doesn't really have any idea about the others in here, she's secluded herself from others for a while. Adelaide moves closer to him, a little surprised that he didn't just leave right when he took the cuffs off her and that he's still here. "I'm just...I'm just trying to get you to understand where I'm coming from." Hesitantly she reaches her hand out to him.

"If there was anything I could do to help, I would offer," Boris said. "Sadly I'm limited to what all I can do for a while."
Nichole shrugged. He was right, of course. After all, she never told him about being a shifter, and neither of them knew that this was going to happen. "Well, if all you're going to do is shovel all the guilt and blame onto me, I think I'll go find somewhere else to eat," she muttered. Since she hadn't been invited to sit at the same table as him, she was still standing where Anja had left her. So the young woman began to continue down the row of table, passing Donald.
Christoph thought for a moment. "A wolf, maybe?" he suggested. Wolves seemed like the obvious choice. They were fast, had good senses, and other creatures tended to leave them alone on most occasions. Bears would also work, but they were a little slower when they walked. Plus, with the bigger size, they wouldn't be able to maneuver in small paths other grown with bushes and trees.

Andrew looked at her hand for a moment, considering, but he did not take it. He took in a breath, about to tell her that the WhiteKingdom's "humane" practices kept them from making as much progress as the RedKingdom, but decided against it. "I know," he said finally. "And I'm trying to tell you where I'm coming from. You've been here a long time. I can see why that would set you against the RedKingdom. But it's a war. Sometimes we have to do bad things. But we do good things too, and that's what I'm fighting for."

Adelaide seems to relax just a little, but still looks as tense as ever. She frowns still and now she's the one that drops her gaze from him, giving a sigh and rubbing her arm. "..." She'd opened her mouth to argue again but she was getting tired, moving her hand from her arm and running it through her hair instead, finally looking back up at him. "Thank you for letting me go outside today." Adelaide says instead, eyes looking dull.

"Just doing my job," Andrew replied in monotone. "See you tomorrow." He turned and left the cell, locking the door behind him. He replayed the conversation in his mind as he walked down the hall, out of the RedKingdom prison. He couldn't seem to shake it from his mind.

He replayed the conversation in his mind as he walked down the hall, out of the RedKingdom prison. He couldn't seem to shake it from his mind. ((Time skip to next day?)) (shoot wow I'm sorry it took me so long to reply, at first I didn't see this and also I just got really busy with moving in and school starting again But yes! Time skip, I can start) Adelaide didn't get much sleep that night, her thoughts kept her awake. First it was just trying to organize her ideas about how she could escape, then she began wondering about if they even were capable of leaving, then the last thing she remembers before finally passing out from exhaustion was her conversation with Andrew. Waking up the next morning, Adelaide sat up slowly and rubbed her eyes before running her hands through her hair and pulling on it just a bit. She sighs gently, wondering when she'll be able to go outside today and hoping it'll be the same time that Jennette is out too.

((Night - Now that I think of it, that unfortunately sounds like more of a question for Icestar. Since it could be a while before she appears again, would you like to just say he doesn't have the info for now?
Rainy & Night - I'm going to split Jennette's timeline a little bit so I can RP with both of you. I'm going to be roleplaying her with Archer and with Adelaide simultaneously, but obviously the two events wouldn't be happening at the same time.))
Archer knocked at the door to Adelaide's cell before unlocking it and stepping in side. He hoped that Adelaide would have forgotten about yesterday's argument by now. Perhaps if he didn't bring it up, she wouldn't either. "Good morning," he said, setting a tray of food down in front of her. "Did you sleep well?"

(Sounds good, and I'm assuming that in your RP reply you mean Andrew instead of Archer)
Adelaide looks up as her door opens and Andrew appears before her, she has mixed emotions about seeing him. Her gaze stays on the food, stomach growling in response at the sight of it but she ignores it and slowly reaches out for the tray, willingly eating on her own for the first time without having someone trying to get her to eat. "I slept alright." The petite girl responds, eyes now flickering up towards him. "Et toi?" And you? She asks in return.

Adelaide ate slowly, not really finishing her meal but picking at each food item in front of just enough so one could say that she had eaten. She lifts her gaze to stare up at him, her father expressionless until the corners of her lips turn up ever slightly. โYou assume correctly.โ

Andrew relaxed a bit, feeling a small wave of relief when he saw her smile. "Excellent. Shall we, then?" The procedure was much the same as the day before; Andrew bound Adelaide's hands, and as they left the cell they were joined by another soldier guard. They then began to march toward the courtyard.

Adelaide noticed the way he relaxed and it made her smile just a bit more, seemed they were starting to get used to one another. She doesn't really know how she feels about that yet, but she's not going to dwell on it. She can't help but tug a bit on the cuffs around her wrists, feeling how much freedom she still has with the restraints on, and once the other guard joins them she tries not to move away from the other too much, trying to stay calm and relaxed.
