Mariana rubbed her temples "so you're Aspen's age. Ok, well yeah I guess you can drive. Can you hold my bag? Makes it easier on my chip if I don't have it on me when I shift" Mariana asks, holding out her bag to the teen.

"I do small jobs for the WK to make money. Makes my life easier when I'm not broke and traveling." She responds, "and I travel in an animal form most of the time to save money on transportation. The chip makes it easier to shift in public" she says, deciding a snake would be best for now. Her body began to melt and shift into a snake.

((Tom, the WK wouldn't have had anything to do with Ash, and there's no way they would have tried to force a chip on her.

In regards to them being in the US, okay, sorry, forgot about that. My bad.))

"Of course you do," Bernard said, quirking an eyebrow. "You can't drive."

"But you did say you were her guardian," Boris commented. "I do not mean to offend you with the statement. In my mind, I see her as yours since she does not belong to anyone else here."

Nichole frowned. "You didn't know about any of this?" she asked. If Donald was in hiding, than she thought Ava, or Anja, would have been told what was going on. If not everything, then at least enough to know why she had to use a different name. Then again, she didn't know her father was a shifter. If she did, then they wouldn't be having this conversation. With a sigh, she went over to take a seat on the edge of her bed. "I'm sorry I ruined things for you," she said. "Had I never shifted, you would still be living a normal life, and you and your father wouldn't be mad at each other."

Christoph, now a bear cub once more, hesitated. While he had acted as if this whole situation didn't phase him, the boy was beginning to feel a little scared. Not because he was camping out in the middle of nowhere, but because his aunt wasn't with him. Diana always made him feel safe, no matter where they were. Yet she wasn't here. As he settled down on the mossy floor of their shelter, he couldn't stop the pang in his heart for his aunt. She would have been able to tell him what every sound was that made him flinch. She would have assured him there was nothing to worry about. He glanced over at the figure of his grandfather, but he saw no sign that the man, or bear, was even still awake.

((She's sixteen; the Kingdoms generally don't concern themselves with children, and if she'd done something to draw their attention to her then she wouldn't be able to avoid them. Do you have any details of this backstory?))

She grimaced "driving age is 18 here. Gross" then shook her head. "Makes sense I guess. Whoever our Guardian ends up being, I hope they aren't those military meatheads who don't know how to smile."

((Tom, there is no reason the WhiteKingdom would force anybody into a chip.))

Bernard smiled patiently. "Look at it this way: whoever it ends up being, you'll only have to deal with them for a maximum of two years. By that time, maybe you'll have bonded, and if not, you can strike off on your own."

((I mean, she doesn't need an intense backstory. Just say she doesn't feel strongly for WK or RK, like most teenagers. But be open to that changing. That's my advice.))

Kurt nodded slowly. He really was trying to remember that except for him, Destiny was all alone here. Though he was very glad she seemed to be getting along with her roommate. Cellmate. Whichever. It was a bit of the burden off his shoulders. Even so, he kept her very much in mind, knowing he was all she had right now. But... she was not all he had, and he was finding it very difficult to keep her as his top priority, when he had no idea whether his family was safe. "Yes," he only said, suddenly feeling very tired. "I'm sorry."

Anja stared at the floor, the knot between her brows maintained, as she tried to think of how to respond. And the longer she thought, the more she deflated. "It was going to happen eventually," she finally said miserably. "I just... want him to talk to me. At least you'll talk to me. Right?"

Mariana slithered back out of her pant leg and into the passenger seat before shifting back. "Haven't been in one of these for awhile" she murmured as she buckled herself in.

"It's just a minivan." Ash said. "It's not that good." She buckled up and motioned for Mariana to do the same.

((There's no reason the RK would do that either.))

He supposed it was, when you were sixteen. "True," he conceded, "but just remember it could be much worse. So, did you have any specific questions?"
