“Oh, yes! We can’t lose this stone, it means alot.” Juniperkit nodded in agreement with her mother, before she squeaked with laughter as Stonepath padded forwards and mewed deeply.
“Time for grooming. Your pelts are a mess, you’ve worked hard today.” He hummed with soft humor.

I love them Vixen ) Larkkit groaned, looking up at her father with pleading eyes "Aw really? I'm not ready to stop playing yet!" Sagefoot pulled Juniperkit close to her, licking the top of her head "Your father is right! I think those bushes did a number on you." she mewed lightly, trying to get her conversation with Stonepath out of her head for the time being.

(Oh, Vixen, did I miss a reply? Can you repost for me?)
“You can play a different game later, like hopping on beetles. A tunneler must know when to rest as much as they know when to work.” Stonepath nodded, reciting the words that Hickoryfrost had taught him. He cleaned between Larkkit’s ears.
“Oh, I can give myself a bath, mama.” Juniperkit complained, though she did not move away from her mother’s grooming.

Larkkit sighed but relented to her father, settling between his paws to allow him to groom her. "Okay, I guess I can sit down for a little bit." she mewed in defeat.
Sagefoot chuckled, "Of course you can dear, but let me do it please. You won't be little for long, let me enjoy it."

“Well, it’s not like I could stop you anyways.” Brownleaf replied with a smile. “You’ve always been pretty headstrong. It’s one of the things I love most about you.”

“I’m not little now! I’m big and strong like you!” Juniperkit argued, her muzzle curled with a little pout. She did secretly enjoy her mother’s affections though, feeling safer then ever.
“Believe me, you’ll want to be a kit again when you have to start cleaning dens and waking up before the sun rises.” Stonepath mused with a knowing chuckle.

I was an only-kit, and I had plenty of tunnelers who taught me.” Meadowbrook mused, not mentioning other cats who had taught her how to utilize her true strength. Her pelt itched for a desire to return to the Dark Forest again.

“Oh, yes.” Meadowbrook nodded. She missed the tunnelers of her past, having never been the same after her father had dissapeared and was found dead moons and moons later in the tunnels. She sighed out. “I miss my mentor, I think, most of all. But we honor the tunnelers of our past by our actions in the present.”

Brownleaf gazed up at the sky, wondering what their former clanmates that had passed on were doing at this moment. “...They would be proud of us, I think.” He spoke finally, looking back at her. “The clan has changed a lot in these passing moons, with this feud between the tunnelers and moor-runners, but we still continue to stand tall and support WindClan in any way we can.” He paused, then added with a soft chuckle. “I wonder how different the clan would be if any of the old tunnelers were still here. I don’t think there would even be a feud, everyone seemed to respect them.

Sagefoot quieted as their daughter's approached with the stone "Wow! That's a big one you two found, how did you manage to dig it up?" she asked, her voice completely changing as she addressed her daughters. Larkkit puffed out her chest, the small she-cat grinning ear to ear "Juniperkit found it! I just helped." Fallowmeadow purred at the thought as she dug the rabbit back up, "That would be wonderful, our camp is so open, but it feels claustrophobic sometimes when it's so nice outside. The wind doesn't feel the same." Eclipsesky shook his head "Not at the moment, but perhaps you can come with me when I go looking, it's nice to have another set of paws and Dawnshadow can stay here and look over the clan that way." Swiftstar nodded. "I know what you mean...I can't even imagine what it would be like to be stuck under trees all day like ThunderClan, or always in the dark like ShadowClan....how do they see StarClan?" Silverspirit nodded. "I'd be happy to go with you. Though I know nothing about herbs...I don't want to be a hinderance."

Fallowmeadow shook her head "Through small gaps in the trees, not nearly visible enough for my taste." she mewed before picking up the rabbit and heading back towards the camp.
Eclipsesky took another bite of the rabbit before pushing it back towards Silverspirit "That's okay, I'll teach you the basics. You don't need to know all the hard stuff."

And you won’t get up in claws about who gets chosen as your mentor when the time comes?” He asked expectantly, wanting to be sure they taught their daughters how to respect their clanmates.

He was young, and inexperienced. I wonder if our situation would be any different if they chose a more seasoned warrior.” He sighed, shaking his head. “But I guess we’ll never know...At least Swiftstar seems eager to please us tunnelers.”

“Mm. I suppose he does, doesn’t he?” Meadowbrook mused, finding it easy to pretend that she respected the leader. Her feelings on him were not ones of hatred, but of annoyance, that he had the very position that she needed, the lives that could be much better in another cat’s paws. Even so, as long as she could pretend, she could keep Brownleaf close to her.

“Me too!” Juniperkit exclaimed, not wanting to disappoint her parents or her future mentor. “We’ll be the best apprentices in the clan.” She promised, looking at Larkkit for confirmation.
Stonepath offered a calm smile, glancing at Sagefoot with approval, of how well their daughters had learned.

Larkkit nodded vigorously, "We'll be so good, we're not even going to be apprentices for a whole moon! Swiftstar's going to be so impressed!"
Sagefoot purred at their wild dreams "Do you really think you can learn everything in under a moon? My you two must be super learners!"

“Of course! We could dig up any tunnel we need!” Juniperkit decided, confident in her and her sister’s abilities. She moved to paw at Sagefoot’s side. “I bet we’ll dig faster than even you and papa!”

“I noticed that as well.” Meadowbrook felt a curl of approval and even deeper attraction to her mate at his words. Clearly he understood. “They couldn’t seem to handle the pressure. It’s not too surprising, but at the same time, it’s rather unfortunate. At least now we have a deputy that knows how to do their job. Tunnelers always do, after all.” She hummed.

“Mhm.” Brownleaf murmured in agreement, lapsing into a comfortable silence for just a few moments. “I wonder if any of the other clans are going through anything similar to what we are. It’s kind of interesting, if you think about it. I’m so used to the hostility between the different clan members that’s it’s just part of everyday life at this point. Yet the other clans probably know nothing of it...” He rambled. “Unless Stormfury spilled all our secrets to his beloved ShadowClan.” He added with a growl, his eyes darkening as he thought of the cat who had attacked his mate.

“He can endanger the Moor-Runners all he wants, their secrets are hardly anything to cry home about. He knows nothing of tunneling that we can’t combat.” Meadowbrook assured, looking at her scars with an unreadable expression. Inwardly, she still rejoiced over how easy it had been to get the tom banished. The mean, nasty moor-runner, of course.
She looked at Brownleaf, giving a soft sigh. “He made his choice, and continued to attack his own clanmate. I’m only glad I didn’t fight back...I wouldn’t want to be banished.” She murmured.

“I’m just glad he’s gone.” Brownleaf replied simply, remembering how hostile Stormfury had appeared to him while he was still in WindClan. He hadn’t been surprised when the tom finally snapped and attacked Meadowbrook, especially since the two of them didn’t seem to be on good terms before it happened. “It’s unfair that you couldn’t even defend yourself against him, who knows how badly you could’ve been hurt if you hadn’t escaped.”
(I’m going to be pretty poofy, I need to do a bunch of video calls for both the rest of today & tomorrow.)

(Okay!)
Meadowbrook looked at Brownleaf and pressed close to his side as she assured. "I will not let any cat ever intimidate me. Stormfury was always aggressive. It's unfortunate, but perhaps it's better this way, for the sake of the clan. I didn't want to injure him, or allow myself to break the code. It's a shame...but I do not regret his banishment." Meadowbrook admitted.

“As much as I don’t think his foxhearted pelt deserves it, Stormfury seems happier over there anyways. He has a mate already, doesn’t he?” Brownleaf twined his short tail with Meadowbrook’s as she pressed against him. “I think it’s just a better situation for us all, he’s found his true love and we can live in peace knowing we most likely won’t have any of our clanmates attack us.” He added in a humorous tone.

"Yes. Sounds ideal." Meadowbrook nodded, though inwardly she wanted to toss her eyes at the thought of a rat-brained ShadowClan cat picking Stormfury to be their mate of all cats. She supposed that rats rummaged together, after all. She pushed away the thought, instead focusing her attention on her mate. "For his own sake, knowing that you'd protect me fiercely if he tried anything again." She responded with an equal amount of humor.
