Sagefoot sighed, looking over in the direction of Shadowclan's camp. "You know I never thought he did any of that. He was a gruff grumpy cat but he's my brother and I know him. I don't think he'd have it in him."
Larkkit let out a squeal of victory as she dug up a good sized pebble "Find one yet Juniperkit?"
Wolfstep tried to make eye contact with her, but the tom was finding it hard to admit his feelings. "Yeah, you're beautiful Hazelear."
"Oh ya know, the rest of the clans could be on fire and we're next but I doubt that's going to happen!" Fallowmeadow replied as she continued to walk.
Fallowmeadow padded through the territory, allowing her pelt to brush against her mate's. She sighed in contentment "Can you believe our kits are grown with their own kits?" she mewed out of the blue "It feels like just yesterday I was moving into the nursery."

Hazelear felt like her pelt was on fire. He really thought that about her? She let out a soft purr. “I-I think you’re the most handsome tom in windclan.” She admitted sheepishly.

Slushfur padded outside, shaking out her gray fur. She was so relieved to be back to her warrior duties. She spotted Blacktail working on the den and approached. "What are you working on?" “I’m getting the brambles out of the gorse wall before the kits start thinking they’re gorse stems to run around in.” Blacktail chuckled, turning to give his mate a quick greeting, pressing his muzzle to her ear. “Have you been busy on the moors?” |

These aren’t big at all!” Juniperkit complained as she pulled up a small pebble. |

Fallowmeadow padded through the territory, allowing her pelt to brush against her mate's. She sighed in contentment "Can you believe our kits are grown with their own kits?" she mewed out of the blue "It feels like just yesterday I was moving into the nursery." Swiftstar shook his head. "It makes me feel old." he admitted. "I was so young when I was made a leader, and now I'm not the youngest...I feel like I still had and have so much to learn, but the whole clan looks up to me to guide them." he sighed, not sure where all this emotion and doubt was coming from, but he felt safe with his mate and knew she would understand. "Sometimes I feel like an apprentice in a warrior's body. Like I should know what I'm doing, and everyone thinks I know what I'm doing....but I don't." Silverspirit padded into the medicine cat's den to see Eclipsesky sorting herbs. She held a small rabbit in her mouth, which she dropped on the den floor. "Well you look chipper this morning" she said. She was pleased that he was finally starting to return to his normal self....after Stormfury had left he hadn't been his carefree self. |

Wolfstep stared at Hazelear in shock "What? Why? I-I'm nothing special!"
"I don't know if we'll ever find out the whole truth." Sagefoot replied "Someone has to be withholding information somewhere, but we may never know who."
Larkkit stashed her pebble before rushing to a different part of camp, "Gotta find an even bigger one now!"
Fallowmeadow laughed "Well with everything that went on with the clans during your apprenticeship, I thought sometimes you would never become a warrior! But just because you're the leader doesn't mean you have to have all the answers. You have Blacktail, and the senior warriors and me of course to ask for help when you need it. The clan won't see you as weak for doing so."
Eclipsesky looked up in surprise as Silverspirit entered the den, "Oh, hi Silverspirit! And yeah.. I guess I just woke up on the right side of the nest this morning, that's all. How are you feeling today?" he mewed, setting down the herbs he had been going through and turning to keep his attention on his friend.

“...Then perhaps we should try and find out for ourselves.” Stonepath nodded firmly, a sense of determination filling him. He had always chosen to honor an ideal of justice, and of honesty. If Stormfury was indeed wrongly banished, then it would eat at him for moons.
“I guess so! I’m going to try here!” Juniperkit called, choosing a spot a few tail lengths away from one of the only dens in the camp, the Medicine Den.

"I'm doing alright, just thought I would stop by and see if you had eaten yet today." She gestured to the rabbit with her tail. |

Sagefoot's gaze snapped up to look at her mate "Find out ourselves? What do you mean? Do you think there's really a way for us to uncover the truth?"
Larkkit stuck her tongue out at Juniperkit "Don't let Eclipsesky see you, you furball!" she teased as she dug around the dirt for more pebbles.

“I think that something strange has been going on for a while now...Stormfury and Meadowbrook’s fight, the deaths of our clanmates so close together. Especially the attack that blinded one of our tunnelers. There was supposedly Riverclan scent...but what Riverclan cat could possibly know about our tunnels?” Stonepath whispered with speculation.
Juniperkit stuck out her tongue.
“I know that! Eclipsesky won’t get me, I’m not gonna go inside!” She promised, returning to her digging in hopes of finding a bigger stone than her sister.

Wolfstep let out a small purr "You're very special to me too Hazelear."
Fallowmeadow stopped for a moment as a rather warm breeze gusted past them. She wrinkled her nose at an unfamiliar smell in the air "Those twolegs must be up to no good. The wind does not have that fresh new-leaf smell I'm looking for!"
Eclipsesky blinked as he replayed his morning in his mind "I guess I haven't eaten yet. I didn't realize how late it had gotten!" he mewed, padding over towards her. "Is the clan busy today? Rabbits coming back?" he asked amicably.

Swiftbreeze scented the air. "you're right. Rabbit-brained twolegs. " He sighed. "Well if the air is going to be this gross, maybe we should head back to camp? I doubt the rabbits will be out with this nonsense."
Silverspirit pushed the rabbit closer to Eclipsesky. "I think I've seen more rabbits today than I did all leaf bare." She said with a nod. "it's bound to be a good new leaf!" She spoke warmly, her tail curling behind her.

Sagefoot hummed in thought "Some cats from other clans did see the tunnels during the days of Adderclan, but it's unlikely that they would remember where they were right?"
Larkkit flicked her ears "If you say so! Let's hope he's in a good mood today!" The she-cat groaned as she dug up a small pebble "This won't do at all!"
Fallowmeadow sighed but nodded reluctantly "I guess so, let's go get that rabbit we caught."
Eclipsesky purred in response to the good news "That's great! That means my herbs will start growing back soon as well and I can start stocking up again. Leaf-bare has run them low."

"Right. Not only has it been a lot of moons since then, but there's also the fact that it seemed as if that supposed Riverclan cat knew exactly where Dustfire would be, to blind him...then it leads to the matter of why? Why would this cat attack one of our Warriors? To start a fued between Riverclan and Windclan?" Stonepath murmured, a small frown of thought passing his gaze as he leaned towards his mate.
"Eclipsesky gets really sad sometimes, so I hope he's in a good mood too! I like when he comes to see us." Juniperkit admitted, having always been fond of the medicine cat. She was named after one of his herbs, after all! She gasped lightly as her paw struck a larger stone. "I found one!"

"It is as if something is toying with us...do you suppose the Dark Forest is trying to get involved again?" Stonepath asked with a hint of hesitation. He had been born during the dark times of Adderclan, his father had been killed before he had ever known him, by warriors influenced by the Dark Forest. What was to stop them from returning?
"Right here!" Juniperkit gave a little growl of effort as she tried to pull up the large stone. She complained. "I can't pull it up! Grr! Stupid rock!" She fell back as she couldn't pull it out. She would have had to dig more.

Sagefoot growled at the thought "If the dark forest is involved they better stop. Don't you think Starclan would have warned us if they were though?"
Larkkit gasped at the size of the stone "Let me help! Papa will be so impressed." she asked eagerly.

"Starclan themselves sometimes could not see what cats of the Dark Forest could plot. That is what the warriors back then used to tell us. I can only imagine that they're biding their time and stirring up trouble." Stonepath fretted quietly, before his own eyes narrowed in aggravation. "I refuse to allow this to stand, if it is."
Forgetting the competition over the prospect of pleasing their father, Juniperkit nodded quickly. "Okay! He'll probably have never seen a stone this big before, that we dug all by ourselves!" She puffed her chest before she dove right back into the work of throwing up dirt to try and unearth the stone.

Wolfstep padded after her quickly, the tom couldn't shake the smile on his face, did Hazelear really like him back?
Sagefoot nodded, glancing over at her kits "I don't want them to live through whay we did when we were young."
Larkkit grinned, working together with her sister to get the stone out of the ground "Almost got it!"

Stonepath nodded in agreement, his earliest memories consisting of Windclan’s liberation and recovery from Adderclan’s reign. He looked at Sagefoot and mewed.
“Perhaps we should speak to the medicine cats about the possibility...Perhaps they have had signs.”
“There!” Juniperkit gave one last heave before the stone was finally dislodged. This was the biggest stone they’d ever dug up! She shook dirt from her pelt as she exclaimed. “Look at how big it is!”

“I’m not sure...telling Swiftstar first might be a good option, only because he’s likely to want to consider it as well. Then we should tell him when he returns. I wonder if Riverclan has also been having such occurrences.” Stonepath considered, only to straighten up as he saw their daughters rolling a stone towards them.
“Alright! I’ve got this part. I’ll roll it over, then you roll it over.” Juniperkit nodded, pushing the stone with her paws.

Sagefoot quieted as their daughter's approached with the stone "Wow! That's a big one you two found, how did you manage to dig it up?" she asked, her voice completely changing as she addressed her daughters.
Larkkit puffed out her chest, the small she-cat grinning ear to ear "Juniperkit found it! I just helped."
Fallowmeadow purred at the thought as she dug the rabbit back up, "That would be wonderful, our camp is so open, but it feels claustrophobic sometimes when it's so nice outside. The wind doesn't feel the same."
Eclipsesky shook his head "Not at the moment, but perhaps you can come with me when I go looking, it's nice to have another set of paws and Dawnshadow can stay here and look over the clan that way."

Stonepath watched his family with soft eyes, though the thoughts of the Dark Forest and darker interventions made his stomach curl with concern.
