{{ ayy look, a response!!! took me long enough }}
Xzavier took notice of Alwyn's hesitation as the other brought his hand up to his mouth and then making the quick decision to abruptly shove it back into his pocket. where it had been before. He said nothing of it however, knowing full well that people deserved their privacy and that should be respected by those around them. He learned this from experience, having it happen to him before. Some people just didn't know where the boundaries of that privacy lay, and Xzavier was most certainly not one of them.
He made the quick decision to change the subject, to draw away any attention that Alwyn may have felt upon him. Plus, the fact that the other was in an unknown world was bound to leave him emotionally drained, or even squirming with anxiety. An idea formulated in his mind and a genuine smile lit his face as he spoke, "Before we find a spot you can run to if a fight breaks out, you want to see something fascinating??"
From what he could tell, Alwyn was filled to the brim with curiosity. Hopefully, he wouldn't be able to respond negatively to Xzavier's question. If his plan fell through, he didn't know what else to do.

((I had my first day of school today and it was,, uh,, I honestly don't know. I cried and got basically rejected by a small group of old friends, plus I was stressed out all day But the teachers were nice))
Alwyn had busied himself with thoughts of home when he was suddenly pulled away by his own wandering attention. He had noticed Xzavier's expression and picked up that he was in deep thought, likely trying to plan on how to work things out for the battle. When he opened his mouth to suggest something, a question came first, and it didn't come from him. Well, he was pretty sure it didn't. "Fascinating in what way? If you're going to show me your willy, just tell me." He couldn't help himself, it was as if the words found his mouth quicker than they did his brain. It often got him in trouble at work when he would snap at the people who gave him trouble- calling them customers didn't seem right, especially since he worked in a library.
((Sorry this is so short, I'm a little stressed))

Xzavier seemed to inwardly flinch at the other's retort. Of course, not physically. It wasn't noticeable to the untamed eye, but his demeanor shifted slightly. His eager smile almost instantly melted into somewhat of a frown. The genuine, pleasure aura that he had given off only moments ago seemed to dissipate into the air. He was the type to take things personally, despite the impression his appearance gave off. Being a Leader of the rebellion meant that he could never act on his own accord; he had to think about the others that surrounded him.
"Never mind, then. Let's just get you somewhere safe so you don't get your ass killed." He muttered, avoiding Alwyn's gaze as his pace quickened. He was going to show the other a creature that he was certain that it didn't exist in his world: a griffin. But, he supposed not showing him was for the best. The quicker Alwyn left Narnia, the better it was for him, no? After all, being in a world you weren't accustomed to would lead to some sort of mental injury.

Alwyn noticed the shift immediately and quieted down, his lips sealing and his teeth pulling at the insides of his cheeks. It was obvious that he had spoken wrong and guilt attacked his mood, breaking it down to a mix of frustration and regret. "Whatever." He nearly hissed back, kicking at a small rock as he walked, easily falling a few feet behind the other. If Xzavier didn't want him around, why not just ditch him in the woods? He knew the answer, and it made him snort in agitation. Xzavier only wanted to protect his little team and Alwyn was a suspicious character, so he would need to keep an eye on him. He decided that he didn't want to go somewhere safe and so he stopped in his tracks, feeling very aware that he was really only doing this to spite the captain. He would've crossed his arms, too, if he wasn't so insecure about his hands.

If he had been further lost in thought, Xzavier would surely have missed the dissipating sounds of walking behind him. He often found himself hiding in his own mind more times than usual and that was quit displeasing to him. He couldn't afford to lose his train of thought, there were lives at stake. This was war. One wrong foot and he could cost someone their life.
He gritted his teeth when he heard no more movement behind him, and he willed himself to calm down. It was silly, really, getting upset over something as childish as this. But he was on his wit's end and it was almost as if everything was closing in on him. The Witch wasn't letting up on her attack and although he hated admitting it, the rebellion was weakening day by day. He would have to end it soon, or there would be nothing left.
Spinning around on his heel, he shot a glance at Alwyn. A flash of anger burned inside him and he breathed heavily out through his nose,"Quit it, will you?? It's for your own good. Unless you'd like to die out here, I suggest you listen and be respectful. You have someone to go back home to, right? Be grateful that you do, instead of no one at all. Instead of returning to an empty place." He snapped, words laced with venom.
Realizing that he was talking about himself in the last part, he shook his head and turned around, beginning to walk again. Hopefully Alwyn would follow.

Alwyn simply clicked his tongue before speaking, the frustration turning to real anger. "You're kind of an ______, do you know that?" He'd heard the same words from those who used to be his friends, and using them just sent a stab of guilt through his stomach. Like always, though, the words kept flowing. "Maybe you should just let me die out here if you're so tired of me. You know what? I'll figure this out on my own. If I get killed, so be it. At least I won't have to stick around with you." When Xzavier turned around, he felt heat spread over his shoulders and back, the feeling from both embarrassment and rage. He began walking in a different direction than the captain, wanting to get as far away as possible from him. Alwyn hated being snapped at, and definitely didn't like people trying to put him in his place. His boss called it a rebellious streak but his mother had said it was because he was a spoiled brat. He bit down on his tongue as his eyes began to well up- this was the worst part about getting angry. He always cried, no matter how stupid the problem was. ((Wow Alwyn stop being such a little brat))

Once more, he heard no sounds of footsteps following him. Stopping again, he pinched the area between his brows, sighing slightly. Alwyn was clearly a thorn in his side, but Xzavier wasn't one to leave someone defenseless. It wasn't in him to be spiteful, nor was he about to have Alwyn fend for himself in the woods. He knew for certain that there were many dangers the other hadn't ever dreamed about. Ditching him would haunt Xzavier eternally, wounding his morality streak.
He was known to sacrifice himself for the lives of others, often finding himself in situations that usually left him out of commission for a while. He lost track of how many times he threw himself into the line of danger to protect a member of his squadron, shooting them sheepish smiles as they stared at his bleeding body on disbelief. The scars that laced his body reminded him that this was his sole purpose in life. It was sad to say, but he knew that without fighting, he was nothing.
So of course, ditching Alwyn wasn't an option.
Grumbling to himself, Xzavier spun around once more, walking over to where Alwyn was. It was more of stomping, his boots making heavy sounds on the dirt floor as he closed in on the other. "We're going." He muttered, snatching the other and throwing him over his shoulder. The grip he had on Alwyn was firm, but not tight enough to cause any pain. Just some slight discomfort.
"Try and think of your family." He mumbled, his voice soft as he headed back in the direction he had been planning on going all along. "There's gotta be someone waiting for you over there and your death here would be a waste. Of course, it would take eons of years for them to notice your disappearance, but it would cause them anguish nonetheless."

Alwyn sincerely thought that Xzavier was going to stab him or something when he heard stomping behind him. When he was suddenly swooped up he let out a noise of shock that sounded very similar to the squawk of a bird, his expression matching the sound he'd made. He struggled for a few moments while pushing against Xzavier's back, trying to ignore the words the other was speaking. When the captain's voice turned soft he stopped for a moment and furrowed his brows, sensing a deep sort of hidden pain in the words. "....Okay.." He murmured, letting his arms hang down while his eyes wandered briefly. He found himself staring at Xzavier's arm, well, mainly his bicep. It flexed as he walked, needing to do so because of Alwyn's extra weight. He found himself fascinated by the way it moved, and actually a bit flustered by it. He loved muscled men, even if he wouldn't admit it out loud- this happened to actually be a pretty big fantasy of his but he couldn't think about that now.
((Wow this sucks im sorry lol))

Xzavier nodded, pleased that Alwyn was complying and not causing much trouble anymore. From now on, he hopefully wouldn't have to use too much pressure to get the other to listen. He was used to having people follow his command and rarely tolerated disobedience. But Alwyn was a different story, mainly because of the fact that the poor kid was from an entirely different world. Xzavier's heart went out to him, yes, but he understood that showing even the slightest bit of favoritism would be bad.. right?
As long as he did his job, everything would be fine. After all, that's what he was raised to do.
"I'll let you down once you calm down." He muttered, his voice continuing to be gentle as he walked. His mouth was close to Alwyn's ears, so he found no need in having to be loud. They were still walking through the camp, Xzavier was at least, and very little soldiers made comment of the odd situation going on between the two of them. He was grateful for that, not having much desire to explain.

Alwyn turned his gaze to the soldiers watching and his cheeks flushed bright red, causing his hands to come up and cover his face. These people were professionals and definitely wouldn't take him seriously after being carried around by their commander. He watched the camp pass and tried to make himself look smaller as they moved by Saphina's tent; he didn't doubt that she would tease him for days and store the sight away in her brain. That tiny body of hers wasn't going to fool him anymore. "I'm calm, please let me down." His voice was muffed by his palms which were still placed over his face. "Please?" He wasn't used to using polite words due to his almost constant bad attitude, only letting them through when he spoke to his mother. He did love her quite a lot, even if he barely let it show because of his pride, which was being damaged at the moment.

He hummed in acknowledgment to Alwyn's words, and still continued to hold onto the smaller male until they were directly in front of Saphina's tent. Satisfyingly nodding to himself, he let out a soft grunt as he gently placed Alwyn on the floor. When the other had his footing on the ground, his eyes took in the reddish tinge on the other's face. This only caused Xzavier to give a knowing smile in response to Alwyn's embarrassment, hoping that this would be a slight lesson towards the figure. He didn't do anything too vicious, but he learned that embarrassing his men caused them to not step out of line as much as they had.
Patting him on the head slightly, he noted that his hair was fluffy, something that pleased Xzavier greatly. Taking in that small detail, he started to go back into Saphina's tent. She had been busy flirting around from one side of the area to the other, rearranging books and pillows around her "nest." Upon his entrance, her face lit up once more. "Xzavie!!!~"

Alwyn pouted when Xzavier touched his hair and let out a snort before he watched the captain enter the tent of the Dragonling. He followed with crossed arms and winced at Saphina yelling out her nickname for Xzavier, being reminded too much of Octavian at the moment. The actions performed in the past minutes were too similar to what his older brother would usually do- head patting, calling out a stupid nickname with way too much excitement in his voice, even lifting Alwyn up when he was being stubborn. He shuddered and shook his head, telling himself that he didn't need Octavian, in fact, he only needed himself and no one else. Alwyn's head snapped up as conversation picked up and he wandered toward one side of the tent, wanting to check out what Saphina had laying around while she was distracted with Xzavier. ((wowow this sucks lol))
