Idk I'm in some pretty desperate need of fantasy roleplay rn and Narnia is lit so Also!! Before anyone asks, no, I haven't read any of the books but I'm currently trying to get my hands on one. I have seen all of the film adaptions though. Preferably we can use OC's but canon characters is whatever to me Plotwise, I was hoping we could figure something out together. I'm not the best with wording but I do usually write three lines or more, depending on what material I have to go off of. So yeah yeesh

Awesome!c: I guess first thing we'd need to work out is a plot and characters, huh?

true, true. hmm plot-wise, maybe we could do something similar to the original Narnia plot-line? Like, the world of Narnia is under some sort of curse from a Witch and there's a rebellion brewing to stop it?? as for characters, perhaps one of them is from Narnia, like one of the founders of the rebellion, while the other discovered it through a gateway?

That sounds good, and I like the ideas of the characters. Hmm... Maybe they both get captured later on as well, just for drama and all?

ooh, yes! that would work out perfectly! i have some ideas in mind that i could use for that lol did you have a preference to which character you have? i'd prefer being the character who is already from Narnia but I don't have any problem roleplaying the other~ ^^

Post by thomas on Nov 16, 2016 20:59:26 GMT -5
I usually do description in roleplay, write one up beforehand, or draw a picture to show, so any of those is fine with me! What's faceclaim?

basically, you post a picture or give a name of a person that you imagine as your character.~

A soft groan escaped his lips as he dragged a hand down his face, exhaustion seeping into his bones. It was early, far too early for any being to be awake. The air around him was filled with the silence, not even a bird could be heard chirping. And yet, here he was, stressing about what course of action they should take next.
It wasn't a duty that rested upon only his shoulders, there were others who helped in leading the rebellion. But he preferred to take it upon himself to figure out some sort of plan. And no matter how much he complained about it, deep down, he enjoyed the sense of purpose it gave him.
Muttering a few choice curses to himself, Xzavier stood up from his spot at his desk. There was a crick in his neck that he couldn't seem to get out, no matter how many times he tried. The maps displayed on the wooden table were overlapped with an infinite number of plans he had thought out time and time again. He had to figure out the flaws in each layout he thought up, not wanting to lose any more people to the cause than there already were.
As he exited the tent, he breathed a small sigh of relief, The fresh morning air that greeted his face was a nice escape from the stuffiness that seemed to emit from the area he had left just moment ago. That was the only good thing about waking up at this godforsaken time. The air was clear and the silence allowed his thoughts to wander.
Shoving his hands in his pockets, he wandered around the camp. People would start to wake up pretty soon and he wanted to get in some personal time beforehand. A walk to check the perimeters of the base wouldn't be such a bad idea.

"Ugh." An ugly sigh fell from his lips as he plopped down on his bed, eyes rolled back in an expression of exhaustion. He'd just returned from a day of work at the local library filled with lifting heavy books and endlessly sorting them; he felt as if he never got a second to sit down and relax. The upside of today, though, was that he got an odd, but interesting book to take home. As he remembered this, he quickly sat up and made his way to his backpack that had been lazily tossed on the floor the moment he'd entered his room. He shuffled through the contents with haste until he found what he was looking for- The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.
"Sweet." He muttered, then shoved the book under his arm and moved over to the beanbag chair in the corner by the window. Once he'd gotten himself settled, he opened the book and skipped to the first page, and with a grin, started reading the first line. "Um..." He managed, staring awkwardly at the page before him; the words were now beginning to glow, the light getting more and more intense by the second. He threw the book down and scooted as far back in the squishy chair as possible, his eyes widened with both wonder and fear while apprehension grew in his gut. The glow became too much and he shielded his eyes, as well as curled up in the fetal position as he felt his surroundings morph and completely change before him. Soon enough, the glow had mostly faded, and when he lowered his arms, he was astounded. "What the..." A forest? How? Alwyn blinked at the trees around and pushed himself to his feet, deciding that he needed to find out if this was some kind of lucid dream or not.

{{ lol, that's perfectly fine! }}
From the looks of it, their perimeter hadn't been breached by any opposing force so far. They'd been in this location for a few months, so he was slightly surprised that their presence hadn't been noticed yet. That might be part of the Witch's plan, however, to catch them unawares. He shoved that idea away, though, making a mental note to himself to dwell on that issue later. Right now, he needed to focus on the strength of the barrier. Any other anxieties would distract him from performing his duties to the utmost of his ability.
Saphina, one of the Mages who supported their cause with much vigor, had created a protective shield around their base camp to ward off any intruders. The barrier made the air around the opposer seem distorted, almost impossible to breath in. The camp seemed to vanish from sight and only if you were invited could you enter. Xzavier supposed that it was useful, yet he remained wary of any chance of a break-in.
There were talismans located around their borders to ensure that the barrier would stay put without any disturbances, even when she wasn't there. She was strange, really. Traveled a lot. But he never questioned her, grateful for her support.
She had also told Xzavier that she had connected his Essence to the talismans, stating that if he died, so did the barrier. And in order to ensure their protection, he had to give a blood sacrifice to each talisman located in the four corners of their camp. It was a heavy burden, yes, but it was one he could carry. It wasn't bad as some of the others that lingered on his skin.
His leather boots made little noise as he walked through the forest, heading towards the first talisman. However, as he ventured closer, he saw something that made him stop in his tracks and have a small catch in his breath.
Immediately, his body went into protective mode as he stepped towards the stranger that seemed to come from nowhere. He hadn't gotten an alert that the barrier had been breached, so Xzavier was extremely wary. He had two broadswords strapped to his back, and if it called for it, he wouldn't hesitate to use them.
Warily eyeing the other, he maintained an aura of superiority as he crossed his arms and raised a brow at the figure standing before him. "State your name and your reason for approaching." He snapped, voice curt.

(Your writing skills make me feel like a baby lol))
Alwyn had only been standing for a moment when the voice startled him, causing him to fall right back down onto his backside in quite an embarrassing manner. "Wh-What?" He stuttered out, gaze scanning around and searching for wherever the demand had come from. Once his eyes met Xzavier's, he grew more curious than frightened, bringing forth his more stubborn side. "Now, why should I do that? You're a stranger in the woods, my mother always told me never to speak to such people." He didn't dare turn away from the other due to a wariness he felt, but he did cross his arms and take on a rather bratty tone. Crossing his arms did turn out to be a little difficult due to the puffy jacket he was wearing; it was snowing pretty heavily back home and he hadn't gotten the chance to remove the awful thing.

{{ aww, you're so sweet! i've been doing this a while, but even still, my skills aren't that great ^^' }}
See, if the figure in front of him was a member of his squadron, then Xzavier would have brushed off their words with a chuckle and a shrug. He never tolerated disrespect, but he knew that his fighters meant well, no matter how childish they acted. They were experienced warriors, people who have seen enough bloodshed and distraction to last them a lifetime.
But this.. This type of disrespect was different. He didn't like it.
Plus, it was easy to figure out that the man standing before him did not fit in well with the rugged nature that surrounded them. It just.. emitted off of him. There was no warrior vibe, much to his concern. And.. What was he wearing? It was most certainly odd.
As he spoke, the other's words stirred annoyance within him and he huffed slightly, feeling as if he was forced to deal with a child. And although the other seemed innocent enough, Xzavier could never be too cautious. After all, too much pride has been the downfall of many. He wasn't stupid enough to ignore that.
"Your name or your life. State your name and your reason for being here." He muttered, repeating his last statement. His cobalt eyes seemed to harden with cold as he drew one of the swords from his back, pointing it directly at the man before him. He couldn't risk having an intruder, someone who he had no other interaction with, to walk into their camp. If looks were deceiving and the stranger was a danger, the lives of everyone who believed in him would be at risk.
And that is something he would not accept.

((You are great at it, hush! I've been doing this for years and I've barely advanced!))
Alwyn was able to keep his stance right up until the sword was pointed at him, and he would have just assumed it were fake if it weren't for how the light glinted off of the object. "Whoa! Calm down!" He separated his arms and raised his hands in a form of surrender, hazel eyes following the sword while cold dread filled his body. This was definitely not a lucid dream. "My name is Alwyn Eric Baxtor a-and I'm not completely sure how I got here, one minute I was in my room then there was this light-!" He cut himself off when he began rambling and gulped, hoping the strange man with a sword would be satisfied with his answer. He flashed an awkward grin and leaned back a little more, wanting to appear as non-threatening and small as possible- not a hard feat considering he was barely above 5'2 and had about as much muscle as a stickbug.

{{ I read a lot, so maybe that helps? But for real though, I'm happy we get to role play! You're way advanced than most people on here lol }}
"Huh." He grunted, sheathing his sword once more in a single smooth stroke. He finally deemed the figure to be an easy opponent, someone he could apprehend with little effort. However, he was still displeased with Alwyn's answer. Rather than soothing his worries, like he hoped it would, it just created new ones.
It seemed that the figure's appearance was due to strange magic, something that Xzavier was not too fond of. While he understood that it could be used for a countless number of helpful ways, he found that magic caused more mayhem than some would let on. Perhaps Saphina would know the reasoning behind this. She was at the camp, a rarity of sorts, and he wished to use that to his advantage.
"Let's get moving." He gestured in the direction of the camp, taking on an attitude that left little to no room for arguments. He was taking a large risk in bringing that stranger back, but it was the only path he could think of at the moment.

((Maybe. Also yeah! I'm really excited about this roleplay and it's really good to meet you! Also thank you, haha.))
A sigh of relief escaped Alwyn as the swordsman sheathed his blade but the words that followed brought a whole new wave of unease over him. "Um... where exactly are we 'moving' to? I still don't know where we are!" Standing up, he shed the ridiculous, oversized marshmallow of a jacket and tied it as best he could around his waist. It still was quite a funny sight paired with his novelty t-shirt and faded jeans, neither of which fit his body correctly. ((Sorry for the short one, I'm watching a movie and it's distracting me)

{{ can you imagine someone roleplaying in that font?? i'd be shook }}
"We're in the Great Woods right now." He muttered, making sure to walk directly behind Alwyn. He couldn't risk having the imposer run off while his back was turned. Xzavier was built to survive in these woods, but who knew how awake his body was. It often took a crisis to set him off and leave him bustling with energy.
But this was most certainly not one of these times.
"Just head North until we come across a campsite. That's our destination." He ordered, his tone of voice brisk and right to the point. He had no reason to act friendly around this man, not while knowing that the other could pose as some sort of threat. If the stranger was cleared of any wrongdoings, then perhaps Xzavier's attitude would soften. But that was only if Alwyn's reasons for being in this part of the Great Woods were true. Truth be told, Xzavier couldn't stand dishonesty.
The base camp wasn't really much of a campsite; it was more of a portable town. There were blacksmiths, those who practiced magic, healers, warriors, shopkeepers. You name it, they're probably there. All for the cause to beat down the Witch who brought chaos upon Narnia.
It was nice, in a way, seeing humans and magical creatures join arms together for one purpose,

((I wouldn't be able to read it, I would cry lmao))
"Great Woods..?" Alwyn echoed quietly while shyly hunching his shoulders, not liking having the swordsman walking behind him, especially when he could just stab him whenever he pleased.
Once they arrived, he couldn't help but stop and simply marvel at all the different people, creatures, and plants around the campsite. "Whoa.." He breathed, taking a step toward the site with an expression full of wonder. "What is this, medieval times?" He chuckled when he noticed the blacksmiths and the old-timey weapons. When he turned and saw the expression of the swordsman he quieted and turned back, wondering if somehow, it really was somewhere near medieval times. He wouldn't doubt it, seeing how everyone looked so concentrated. "What are you guys getting ready for?"
((Sorry for that being so short and bad, I can't think urgh))
