Izzy hesitated, but let Mycle lean against her. She wasn't really good at this kind of thing, but she wasn't sure what else to do. Someone had to help comfort the guy, right? Still, just seeing Mycle cry made her blood boil. That bear... she'd kill him if she had the chance. But that would just get her killed. She'd checked the rules briefly. What could she do, then? This helplessness angered her the most. She was a dogsledder. She should be able to take care of herself.
Marcus's new nickname was... odd, to say the least, but he didn't really mind. It just seemed like a... Leo thing to say. He couldn't really explain it. "Yeah, we should probably get everyone together. We might as well search the school for exits, or at least see what it's like," Marcus agreed. He noticed that someone was leaving. Ari, right? "Hey, wait a sec!"

◈ ---- Jace, Hayami, Leo, and Monobear
◈ ---- For whatever reason, Kihyun's response made Hayami laugh. Luckily, it wasn't her "crazy" laugh. She had been working on that, before it wasn't like she could let anyone know she was insane, and that would be a dead giveaway. "I just thought I might ask. It's bad to judge people based on first impressions." This was her way of hinting towards her evil nature, despite her innocent appearance, though she doubted he would get it. "But I'm going to assume that's a no." She was clearly pleased about that...even if he wasn't crazy like she was, he at least was less likely to flinch at the idea of killing, something she specialized in.
Most girls would be irritated if they caught a boy observing them, even just for artistic purposes, but Hayami absolutely loved attention. That's pretty much the only reason she wasn't just chilling with Monobear right now; she wanted to make everyone pay attention to her, which they certainly would when she revealed her betrayal. It would be great! Anyways, the point is, Hayami really liked attention, so she didn't mind at all. Plus, she was use to being scanned in a purely "artistic" manner. Even if she was only a model for a few years, she had still gotten use to it.
"Yo." She grabbed Mikel's hand and kissed the back of it in greeting, just like she had done with everyone else, before grinning up at him. "I'm Hayami, the Ultimate Gymnast. This is Kihyun, Ultimate Gambler." She didn't even give Kihyun a chance to introduce himself before she did it for him. "What's your name? Talent? Why are you so late? Everyone else was here a long time ago...."
--
"Hm?" Mycle seemed rather nervous around people, which confused Jace greatly. He wasn't particularly intimidating, so he was use to being on the other end of things. Typically, he was the one stuttering and having to try hard just to get his words out. He wasn't exactly unhappy about the change, though. He didn't like being the shy, nerdy guy who could barely spit out a few words. It got kinda boring after a while, and he was plenty happy to let someone else to take that role, though that sounded mean. Oh well. Jace had never been concerned about being nice.
"What am I reading?" The question seemed to confuse him, for whatever reason, and he looked at the cover of his book. It was almost as if he had no idea what book he was reading...which was true. He had just grabbed a random one from the room, and since he had only skimmed the first few pages, had no idea what it was about. "Oh, it's just a book I found in my room when I woke up. Probably because of my talent. It's about the history of the school." A boring topic to read about, but honestly, Jace would read anything. Just give him a book, and he'd finish it in a few hours.
--
Before anyone else had a chance to really say anything, a voice came from the front of the room. "Hiya kiddos!" Everyone's head snapped towards the podium, where a black and white bear, about the size of a large teddy bear, now sat, speaking into the microphone. But that couldn't be right...stuffed bears didn't speak! Though this one seemed to be quite alive. "I know what you're all thinking, and no, I am not a high tech build-a-bear reject. I am Monobear, the principal of this school! Pleased to meet 'cha."
Before Monobear had even finished his last sentence, Leo had started screaming, seeming absolutely horrified. "Bears can't talk! What the hell is going on? It can't be the principal, it's just a stuffed animal!"
Monobear looked mildly offended, if a bear could show any expression at all, but continued. "Anyways, welcome bright young things, to your new living quarters! Now before you get all panicky, rest assured it's for your own good! Mustn't let the outside world throw that gasoline in a spark." That didn't make much sense, but oh well. "So now you're wondering how long you'll be guests of our program! Uh...about the rests of your lives!"
He continued before anyone could start to argue. "You're here for keepsies! But don't worry, we have a huge budget, so all your needs will be satisfied. But for those who wish to leave....there is a loophole. Good old fashioned murder!"
Several gasps came from the students, but Monobear didn't stop talking. He continued to explain all the rules, including how the class trials would happen after every murder, and if the murderer wasn't caught, they would get to leave. He left out a few parts, like how everyone would be brought back to life after they were killed so they could die all over again, but those were tiny, unimportant details.
"Now, for motivation....yes, there will be a motivation to kill after every murder! The first one is embarrassing secrets. How fun!" Monobear laughed. "On these papers, I have written down a dark or embarrassing secret about all of you, one that you wouldn't want anyone to know. You will get your slip of paper, just so you can read what exactly that secret is, and have it to remind you that if no one is killed within a day, the secrets will start to be revealed. The papers are taped to your electronic student handbooks, which have the rest of the rules, and a list of students and info about them, in it. Have fun kids! I'll be back soon."
And with that, Monobear disappeared, tossing the electronic handbooks on the ground so that everyone had to scramble to find theirs.
Hayami, however, didn't bother. She was too busy sobbing, actually, though of course it was an act. A very, very good act, and she actually seemed rather distressed.
Leo was still freaking out, so he grabbed his electronic handbook as soon as possible, as did Jace.
"W-what should we do now?" Jace asked in a quiet tone, going back to being his shy self.
"It doesn't matter! We're all gonna die!" Hayami wailed, burying her face in her hands. (hey guys. sorry i haven't been on in a couple days. just been sick and having headaches... ugh. plus i had work and school that i needed to do...) Mikel inwardly blushed at Hayami's greeting, but smiled back anyway. Though before he had a chance to introduce himself, that plush bear came on stage. Mikel had walked forward while Monobear spoke, still unable to understand what was going on. Well, he knew now. But...why? Why were they here? What did they do to make that stupid bear force them to kill one another? Mikel sighed once the bear left, noticing the girl before crying and the male speaking to her. He just stood there, in shock, among the others. What...? So, one of them had to kill? Had to...murder someone, before they could escape? That would mean...someone would die. He could die. He could...really die, in here. Someone could kill him. Mikel could feel a panic attack coming on, his breathing hollow and quickening. What about his parents? His little sister? He promised her that design! He needed to make it out...he had to! Oakley had stood in the back, her eyes wide at Monobear's words. No...they weren't going to make it out alive? Well, they could. Someone could. If they killed someone else. Oakley could feel bile rise up in the back of her throat. She could never...never kill anyone. Maybe...if she stayed away...no one would notice her? No...she had to be social. She needed to talk to these people. She needed to have a friend to back her up. A buddy. So they could stay safe. She bit her lip, then started forward into the shocked crowd of people.

Mycle wasn't sure how long he had been crying, but it had to be a good solid minute before he could even slow the onslaught of tears. He hiccuped and whispered a trembling "Sorry" to Izzy. He stared at a scuff on the floor to focus himself and concentrate on his breathing again. His breathes were still shaky. He sniffed, feeling small. "...what-what should we do now? I don't - I don't want anybody to die." The last word ended on a wobble, as if threatening to dive into more sobbing.
Ari heard somebody call out and glared over his shoulder. "Are you talking to me?" he growled, still ready to hurl himself out the door. He decided if the person was going to babble foolishly, he was out of there without a word.

"I... I'm not sure, but we can't just sit around doing nothing," Izzy replied, looking off to the side. She pulled out her handbook and turned it on again. "We should probably take a look around the place. Card Guy seems to have the same idea," she decided, glancing at Marcus.
Wow. That was a bit rude. "Let's not run off without a plan. We should probably search the school to see what it's like, or even find something useful," Marcus explained. He gestured towards the crowd in the gym. "Besides, with this many people, we could search at least most of the school in a short time if we each take a section."

Having the security of something to do was comforting. Mycle gathered himself and let out a long sigh, frustrated with his tears. He expected the others to look down on him now, and the thought made his voice smaller as he said, "Ok. That sounds good." Only, even he knew that was too soft to hear, so he just nodded.
Ari still wanted to hide in his room, but he had to admit that knowing where they were and where everything is right off the bat was a smart first move. "Fine," he said grudgingly, turning around slightly. "So who's going to search what, captain?" His gaze fell to the other students. There was one thing that he didn't like. "Though, you sure it's a good idea to split up now that anyone could be a potential killer?"

"If we went in groups of two or three, we'd be fine. Since the suspect list would be narrowed down to a person or two if someone died in a small group, nobody would want to murder... or be able to get away with it," Marcus pointed out. He nodded to himself, somewhat proud of his idea.
Izzy shrugged. "Sounds good to me. I guess I'll team up with Mycle, if ya don't mind," she said, glancing at him to see if he agreed. For some reason, she didn't want to leave him just yet.

◈ ---- Hayami, Jace, and Leo
◈ ---- Hayami raised one eyebrow, her fearful expression completely disappearing from her face. It was replaced by a satisfied smirk that made it quite clear that his answer was the one she had been hoping for. "Yes, that's my name." She was mildly offended that he asked, but it wasn't worth mentioning. "Well, if that's your view on things, then I think we'll get along quite well." Apparently having said everything she needed to, she stalked away from him, having found a new person to bother. After all, it wasn't like she could just talk to one person. She could, but she wanted the entire group to trust her. That would make everything so much more satisfying.
"You alright?" She asked once she reached Mikel, faking a concerned look. Did she really care? Nope. Not at all. But she could sure pretend she did, and look convincing as hell too. "I'm sure there's going to be another way out...that bear must know that none of us are actually gonna kill." That was a lie. They would kill each other, and Monobear knew it. Humans were selfish by nature, and would do anything to get out of a situation like this. Even if it meant going against their moral code - though Hayami was pretty sure she was not the only one in this room who wasn't as innocent as they seemed in the first place.
"Anyways, it'll be fine! We'll figure something out, I'm sure." She laughed, giving him a hug without any warning. Nice people hugged others when they were upset, right? Hayami didn't know. She'd been around rich, stuck-up people her entire life, who would shriek if anyone tried to touch them, so it wasn't like she had a lot to go off of.
Hearing what the others were discussing, the gymnast looked up, letting go of Mikel as she stepped closer to the group. "Is that what we're doing? Exploring in groups?" She asked with a curious tilt of her head. "I think groups of three would be better. That way it's less likely that someone will actually die, because if someone did try to kill, two people could fight them off easier. No one would die, but we would know who we can't trust."
Jace finally decided to join in on the conversation, and he nodded slightly in agreement. "Three groups of three, and one group of four, or two groups of two, since there's thirteen of us. Who would go with who though?"
Leo shrugged, not seeming to care too much. "I'll go with whoever. Just as long as they don't try to stab me or anything. Even though I could heal myself, I'd rather not damage my perfect body." He needed to chill, honestly, and Jace shot him a glare. Why were ninety percent of the people here idiots? Jace didn't get it.
"Anyways, let's go ahead and form groups," the Ultimate Bookworm said with a loud sigh, backing away from the large group again.

Kihyun was vaguely concerned about Hayami's response, though he didn't ask for her to wait when she ran off. She'd gotten what she wanted from him, that much was obvious, but...no, he should clear his mind of those thoughts. Top priority now was to figure out how he was going to survive. Rejoining the larger group, Kihyun caught sight of Jace attempting to get away from the group. Again. Hm. So he made a slight detour, coming up behind the other boy and hooking his arm around Jace's shoulders, pulling him back towards the others. "Come on, bookworm, can't have you keep disappearing on us."
They were talking about forming groups. A good idea, yes...one that would make it more difficult to kill, which was simultaneously comforting and worrying. Kihyun couldn't afford to underestimate Monobear, not when he knew so little about him. So there was no doubt in his mind that something terrible would happen to all of them if they failed to kill off one of their own before the day was up. Nevertheless... "Exploring in groups is smart. We need to figure out what the playing field is."

"I guess I'm fine with anyone, too. With this many people, it could get confusing to arrange everyone, so... maybe we could have four or five people be 'leaders,' and everyone else can join up however they want with each leader? Kinda like team sports in gym." Marcus paused, and then shrugged with a smile. "Granted, I'm terrible at gym, but whatever! Seems like an orderly way to do it."

Mycle blinked up at Izzy, surprise that she wanted to stay with him. It seemed unlikely - like him going to Hope's Peak Academy. Still, there was a warmth in his chet and a relief that allowed him to relax. At least he wouldn't have to worry about going up to somebody, or somebody not going up to him. He just sort of nodded to Izzy, and as for Marcus's idea, he was worried that a leader could feel left out if not chosen, but he didn't mention it, worrying it would sound stupid.
Ari wrinked his nose. "Who would be the leaders, then? Whoever just volunteers first?" At Leo's remark he couldn't help but roll his eyes. "What perfect body?" he muttered.

◈ ---- Hayami, Jace, and Leo
◈ ---- "Good idea! At least we have one smart person." Hayami was acting very ditzy again, which was honestly rather irritating, and Jace sighed. He preferred her when she was silent.
When he felt an arm around his shoulders, Jace yelped quietly, slapping it away. "Don't touch me!" He snarled, looking rather pissed. He couldn't stand being touched by people - especially people he didn't know, like Kihyun. He didn't know him, nor did he trust him, so of course he was going to get mad and shove him away the second he got too close. He didn't trust that he wouldn't try to harm him in some way...though he didn't really think through the fact that if he kept being rude, he'd just make the other hate him. And if Kihyun did have intentions of hurting him, he'd be more likely to do so if he hated him. Oh well.
"I can be a leader, if 'ya want!" Jace couldn't help but laugh when Hayami said that. She was an idiot, why would anyone trust her to lead them around? She'd get lost. "I have a good sense of direction," she added after a moment, having heard Jace laugh. She'd show him! She knew the place better than anyone else...though that was only because she had been there before.
"Eh, I guess that works." Leo really wasn't being helpful. Despite being a doctor, he wasn't the brightest, so didn't even bother trying to add any ideas of his. They'd probably get shot down immediately, which was fair enough. He knew most of his ideas were stupid. "And don't be rude, dear." He tapped Ari on the nose in a mockingly scolding manner. "You're just in denial, though, so I'll choose to not be too offended by that comment."

"Since I'm with Mycle, I guess I'll be a leader, too," Izzy decided. Besides, she liked being in charge. Prabably came with being a dogsledder.
"Alright, that's two leaders... I think I'll go with Hayami's group," Marcus said. He didn't want to take up a leader spot, and he kind of didn't care about being a leader anyway. Besides, he hadn't gotten much of a chance to chat with the gymnist.

Ari sqwaked in indignation and jerked his head back, rubbing his nose - a wholly dramatic reaction to a tap on the nose he knew, but he felt he needed to convey just how much he did not like being touched. He scowled at Leo. "Keep telling yourself that," he grumbled. "Otherwise your oversized ego might deflate, and what would we do then?" He crossed his arms. "Well, then, if we're all nominating ourselves I guess I'll be a 'leader' too. I do hate following orders."
Meanwhile Mycle inched closer to Izzy as if trying to hide behind her.

Mikel blushed and stammered when Hayami hugged him suddenly, so he was also a little winded when she just as quickly let him go to talk with the rest of the group. He still had things swirling through his head. It was making his head hurt. He moved closer to the group, listening in one what they were all saying. "What?" He asked, still confused. They were going in groups to explore?
Oakley also walked up, warily. She didn't hear any of the conversation, but decided to join in anyway.

{ Ok...true But if he finds out he's a smol he's gonna be crushed poor kid He thinks he is a tol }
The whole "leader" thing, in Kihyun's opinion, was pretty arbitrary. It wasn't as if they had any real power behind the title. And the point of having leaders in this situation was also lost on him. It promoted a false sense of security, as though there was someone who could protect you from being killed or whatever.
Kihyun himself wasn't overly concerned with who he would end up with, and so he kept quiet as others either declared themselves a leader or joined up with someone else. He figured that he would just go along with whatever group needed another person. The only person he really knew right now, after all, was Hayami...and he wasn't sure what was going on with her, but he didn't completely trust her. Ha. You don't trust anyone. Well, that was true. But Hayami just gave him strange vibes.

Ari looked over at Mikel with a frown. "We're splitting into groups of three to explore the school. Weren't you listening?" he said crabbily. He was far too grumpy for patience - the more quickly as they could get this over with, the sooner he could be alone to think. "Just join up with me or someone else who's standing by themselves."

"S-sorry...I was, still thinking about what Monobear said," Mikel rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment, "I'll be in your group, then." He really was feeling guilty, but he supposed it was fine. Besides, he'd have to get to know different members of the group, anyway. He went closer and stood by Ari, looking around at the other people.
Oakley moved closer to the group, analyzing each person. She wanted to be in a group, too, but...she didn't know whose. She would just...volunteer? She didn't know these people, wasn't good with talking to others. Drawing a flower realistically--she could do. Talking amongst a group of strangers--nope. Not exactly in her hobbies, or her great talents.

Ari just shrugged apathetically. "Whatever. In my opinion the more thought you give to that little sh-- the more time you waste in this pathetic life, but who cares what I think." He looked around, trying to hide his jumpiness. Anyone could kill him. Anyone could kill him. The paranoia kept him on his toes as he forced himself to stay fully aware of his surroundings. This time with other people was stretching out far too long - if no one else was going to join him (then again he was standing there all glowering and unwelcoming) he was going to drag someone else into his group and get this team exploration over with.
Mycle's eyes would fall to the ground, dart to the others, and then shy away again. He wasn't sure who else was going to join his and Izzy's group, though he was glad that there would be other people with him in the school's hallways. He tried to look as unassuming and nonthreatening as possible, keeping close to Izzy.

Mikel nodded, "Yeah...okay." He tried to understand Ari. Though, he did notice the other guy was quite...closed off. Rude, almost. Maybe he was just scared. It was a scary situation. Mikel glanced around at the others, wondering who else would join them. He tried to smile, to be welcoming.
Oakley noticed Mycle looking around and decided to go up to him. She took a deep breath, preparing herself, and walked up to him. "U-um..." She started, giving a small wave, "I-is there...anyone else in your group?" God, she was so awkward. She really didn't like talking to people. God, why did she have to be forced in this situation? Why couldn't she be in the academy right now? Art was her passion, not social interaction.
