Ari smirked, some of his anger at the situation ebbing away. "What even? Who determines these things, anyway?" H tilted his head. "Though, I am curious - card games? Just like - poker or something? How'd you get attention for that?" Mycle relaxed a little. He was glad that Marcus was keeping the mood light; it helped keep his anxiety at bay. Ari looked over at the other people who jumped into the conversation, raising an eyebrow. "Hi, I guess," he said, his tone decidedly unfriendly. He sort of shuffled back as if to create more distance between him and them. Mycle wanted to disappear even more so at Hayami's question - she hit the nail right on the head. He kept his mouth shut, though - he felt like he couldn't summon the words even if he wanted to. He instinctively shrank back when Hayami reached out.

"Nah, it's more like Yugioh and stuff. You know, trading card games. I guess I got attention from winning a bunch of tournaments and making new types of decks... but to be honest, I do it for fun rather than winning," Marcus replied. He slightly unzipped his backpack to take out one of his decks, which had its cards nice and safe in card sleeves. He began to shuffle it absentmindedly, mostly out of habit. He nearly dropped his cards when Hayami took his hand, but managed to pull it away just in time to catch him.
Izzy huffed a little at Jace's words, but was otherwise quiet. As much as she hated to admit it, the bookworm had a point. She wasn't entirely comfortable with that gymnist, though. She seemed a bit... off. Maybe it was because of Mycle's reaction, but still... Despite this, she let Hayami take her hand, just so Jace wouldn't scold her again.

◈ ---- Jace, Hayami, and Leo
◈ ---- "Yugioh?" Hayami looked very confused at the mention of that - which was understandable. She wasn't the type of girl who would have much exposure to those types of things, as she had no brothers, and was only around boys too "proper" to play silly games like that. She might be interested if it was explained to her, though. She enjoyed games, mainly because she was good at wining them. She wasn't any Ultimate Card Game Player, but she wasn't half bad at card games. Mostly because she was so set on not losing, that she practiced and practiced until she became good.
Though she seemed disappointed that only Izzy and Leo didn't jerk their hands back, Hayami still kissed theirs, which made Leo swoon. He was an extremely overdramatic person. Once she was done with that, she turned to Mycle, tipping her head to the side in mild confusion when he flinched away from her. "Are you afraid of me or something? If so, you shouldn't be! I'm not mean, I promise!" Well, she was, but she wasn't acting mean yet. "I mean, i ain't gonna hurt you or anything, sweetheart."
Rolling his eyes at everyone around him, Jace took a few steps away from the group, as he didn't have anything else to contribute to the conversation. They'd just forget he was there in a few moments, and while that was mildly disappointing, it meant he could just stand there and be silent without anyone really noticing.

{ Sorry I'm so bad at staying on x-x I had a lot of homework I've been procrastinating on and I just got home from a mock audition }
When Kihyun came to, he found himself in a room. Not his room, which was strange, and the clothes he was wearing were certainly not his own. His brain felt a little fuzzy and he wasn't quite sure what he was doing when he listened to the intercom and hauled himself out of the room, finding his way down to the gym. He wasn't quite aware of what was going on, it was as if his brain was full of static, white noise. But he saw people and he could hear them speaking. There was one thing that he felt he knew for certain: he was here because he was good at poker. He was good at blackjack, at bridge, hearts, baccarat, even roulette. He was here because he's been making a fortune off of gambling.
But his mind was so hazy right now. Was he tired? Or was he dreaming? Or was this simply a side-effect of confusion?
"Am I dreaming?" The question was said out loud, but Kihyun had originally meant it for himself. He looked around. He tried to focus on something. Nothing seemed too important. There was some talk of card games...but not the kind that Kihyun bothered to spend his time on. One boy, Kihyun watched, stepped away from the group. A shy one. Or maybe just good at being inconspicuous. Kihyun briefly noted that he should try to keep an eye on him before heading towards the gathered crowd.

((hiya pumpkinqueen!))
Mycle flushed warm in embarrassment. Shying away had been a reflex - strangers reaching out to touch him often meant uncomfortable encounters, like the well-meaning ones who try and "help" him along even though he was capable of walking himself. "Sorry," he said, his voice nearly a whisper. He slowly released his grip on his crutch and offered it after seeing Hayami merely kissing the hands of the others, not wanting to seem rude.
"Oh. Interesting. Math's sort of the same for me - mental challenge and all. Don't get enough of that in class, so the tournaments were nice," Ari said. "Especially since I could work out problems my own way." He looked over at the new guy entering the room. "A dream? Honestly, I wish I was merely some symbol in someone's subconscious."

◈ ---- "I sure hope not, darlin'. I worked too hard to get into this school for it to be a dream." That was a lie. Hayami had never had to lift a single finger to get what she wanted. She wanted to be a model? Done. She wanted to have a closet full of designer clothes and a shiny, fancy car? Done. She wanted to go to Hope's Peak Academy? Done. Even if she wasn't a good gymnast like she was, she had enough money to buy her way in. Besides, her skills as a gymnast was certainly not what had made Monobear take an interest in her.
"You okay?" She looked back over at Mycle, faking a concerned look. She was a damn good actor, and was rather proud of herself at the moment. No one suspected a thing! "You look a tad bit red....but it's okay! You don't have anythingto apologize for." Seeming pleased when he held out his hand, Hayami took it without hesitation, kissing the back of it like she had done with everyone else. After that, she skipped over to the new person, grabbing his hand and kissing it as well before he could protest.
"Bonjour! I'm Hayami, the Ultimate Gymnast. Who are you? What's your talent?" She was full of questions, and her grip on his hand tightened slightly, which made Jace roll his eyes once again. Females were annoying as hell.
Since no one seemed to want to speak to him, Jace went to sit and read the book he had brought along with him (he had found it in his room), giving Leo a disgusted look when he noticed he was still swooning. What an idiot.

◈ ---- [ Mikel ] [ Male ] [ Ultimate Designer ] Mikel is a slightly shorter male, about 5’5”, with curly/messy golden hair and bright amber eyes. He has some freckles on his nose and some that go down his shoulders and back. His skin is a soft ivory color, though not too pale. He has a tattoo on his upper back of angel wings, ones of his own design. Usually the life of the party, Mikel loves to have fun, and loves to be funny too. No, not in the troublesome way, but in the eager, always loving life kind of way. He’s loving, adventurous, and shows his energy in his designs. He loves to make tattoos and character designs, mainly. What he hides, though, is his anxiety/depression, which he masks with a smile and through his artwork. [ American] [ Bisexual ] [ pumpkinqueen13 ]
◈ ---- [ Oakley ] [ Female ] [ Ultimate Artist ] Oakley stands to about 5’3”, with semi-long mocha-brown hair that sticks out around her shoulders, and soft green eyes. She has a skin tone that resembles a light cinnamon-olive color. She has a birthmark that resembles a smile on the back of her knee. Quiet and introverted, you wouldn’t normally see Oakley out and about on any school social grounds. She was the top of her class in the Art Academy, and was surprised when she got the invitation to her new “school”. She likes to listen to rain and the sounds of the ocean when she draws, reminding her of her home. She also falls in love with the idea of space exploration, and of stars and the universe. [ Cuban ] [ Heterosexual ] [ pumpkinqueen13 ]

Not a dream, then? That was a pity. Of course, he could very well still be in a dream even if someone said that he wasn't...though Kihyun was skeptical that his mind would do that to him. Before he could do or say anything intelligent, however, his hand was captured and he barely had time to let out a weak noise of protest before the culprit kissed it and proceeded to bombard him with questions.
"Ultimate Gymnast? Oh." Right. He had been assigned one of those titles, too. "Nice to meet you?" Then came the question of whether or not it would be safe to reveal that he was knighted with the title of Ultimate Gambler. Would it make him less trustworthy? Certainly. But what was the fun in a game unless everyone knew you were dangerous? Kihyun had gotten sick of those games years ago. "I'm Kihyun. Ultimate Gambler."

((Haha, it's also fun to slowly corrupt a character))
Mycle looked down, relieved. He looked over at Jace, whose movement attracted his eye. A book! Oh, what he wouldn't give to distract himself with a book right about now. Looking around, he didn't want to approach anyone in fear of bothering them - plus he could feel the need to rest itching at his leg muscles - so he went over to sit as well. He gently set his crutches to the side, staring at his hands in his lap.
Ari walked over to the wall to lean on it and glare up at the podium impatiently.

(haha, alright, cool ) Mikel walked towards the front of the gym, pacing. He was still trying to process what was happening. What was going on here? He walked closer to the front, noticing some others hanging around. "I'm so confused..." He mumbled, out loud, though more to himself, "I thought...this was an art academy?" He ran his hands through his golden locks, eyes shut. "But...we're like, trapped here?" The thought of his mother and little sister ran in his head. He'd promised his little sister a logo design of the company she wanted to create when she was older. Something with a teddy bear, and a princess hat. Though, with blood dripping down it. It was...a strange request, but Mikel wouldn't deny it to her. And it made him upset now...that he couldn't leave here to give it to her. "Why are we here?" Oakley was nervously sitting inside the Library, sketching something in her notebook. She sighed, reaching up to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear, before continuing to doodle a weird alien like object along the lines of paper. She tried to calm herself of the situation, but it was really starting to worry her. And, it wasn't like she was social enough to ask if anyone knew what was really going on here. She was terrified to ask. Not that she was scared of everyone, though. Well, some seemed a bit...scary, but she was scared of them. She was scared of what was happening, more. She trailed a path of stars to the corner of her page and signed her name, before closing the book, sitting up in her seat. She wasn't sure if she was the only one in the library, at the moment. She hadn't heard anyone else come in.

◈ ---- "Yeah....?" Kihyun's reaction confused her greatly. Why did he seem so...unenthusiastic? Was her talent not good enough for him? The thought irritated her greatly, and she struggled not to let that show on her face. Hayami slowly let go of his hand, taking a few steps back as she studied him. He was one of the ones who interested her, if she remembered correctly. He didn't seem that pleased to be talking to her, but she could try. How was she suppose to casually ask about something like that though? "Hey, wanna create despair with me?" That would probably just horrify him. Sigh. Why did humans have to be so complicated? This is why she preferred them when they were dead.
"Ultimate Gambler? Ooh, that's cool! We have so many game-y people here. Ultimate Card Game Player, Ultimate Gambler...the Ultimate Joker kinda fits in with that as well." Of course, he was actually the Ultimate Politician, but Hayami wasn't suppose to know this. She wasn't suppose to say anything to anyone that might seem suspicious, and raise questions about how she knew way too much stuff...but she couldn't help herself. "Hey...can I ask you a question?" She suddenly became serious, her face going blank. When she saw the new boy enter, though, that changed, and she brightened. "Yo, new guy! Come here!" She jumped up and down childishly, waving her hand in the air so he could see her.
On the other side of the room, Jace continued to flip though his book, appearing rather bored. So, when Mycle sat down as well, he turned towards the other male, hoping he would help cure his boredom. "Why do you think the principal or whoever was talking hasn't showed up yet?" He asked absentmindedly, knowing Mycle probably wouldn't have an answer. "And why is everyone here so annoying? Hayami is one of those bratty rich chicks, Izzy seems rude, Marcus is weird...and hardly anyone seems to have an actual decent talent. Speaking of which, what is your talent? You never said."
{ Monobear can talk when Oakley comes to the gym ^^ then everyone will be there i believe }

Panic made Mycle's heart jump when he realized someone was actually talking to him. "Oh, um, I'm not sure," he said in a small voice, but Jace was already rolling onto his next question, and he lowered his head in embarrassment for responding to what must've been a rhetorical question. He almost wanted to protest that the others didn't seem that annoying, and that their talents seemed really unique, but that demanded courage he didn't have. Then Jace asked for his talent and he internally panicked. His "talent" wasn't even a talent - he was going to humiliate himself, wasn't he? If this were some sitcom, he probably would've made up some talent and get so tangled up in his lies that he'd look like a bigger fool in the end. But, he knew too many stories that ended that way and, besides, he couldn't think of anything he was especially talented at, so he, staring down at his hands, murmured, "It's actually - um - not really a talent, it's just -" his hands began moving, as if trying to perform the words he was saying. "I'm - the Ultimate Luck."

Hayami stepped back and Kihyun crossed his arms, head tilted ever so slightly as the girl examined him. She looked at him the way he looked at his opponents around a poker table, scrutinizing. It made his skin crawl.
He almost scoffed when she mentioned the Ultimate Card Game Player, then again at Ultimate Joker. The sad thing was that the latter seemed like the more viable option of the two. It felt like a long time before Hayami spoke again, asked if she could ask him something. Kihyun raised an eyebrow, managing a small nod before the girl''s attention was turned to a newcomer.
Honestly, if she had just asked the question instead of asking if she could ask, he'd probably have been able to give an answer before the new guy showed up.

"Ultimate Luck? You're right, that isn't a talent." Jace could be very blunt at times...which definitely made him come off as rude. "But that's pretty cool anyways. I'd love to have luck. I have the opposite, actually. And besides, being the Ultimate Luck is better than being the Ultimate Bookworm. Reading isn't exactly a talent either, and it won't really get me anywhere in the world." He shrugged, and upon noticing how nervous Mycle looked, sighed softly. "I hope the principal or whoever is here soon so we can get started. I hate just sitting around and waiting." That was all he needed to say, for the moment, so he fell silent after that.
Despite waving to the new boy, Hayami still planned on asking the question. She just wasn't quite sure how to word it. After all, they didn't know about the game yet, so trying to explain that would just make Kihyun think she was absolutely insane. Which, in all honesty, she was. Frowning, she stepped closer to him, getting on her toes so that she could whisper into his ear. "You're not a goody two shoes like everyone else, right?" That was the best way she could think to put it, though she really wanted to just tell him about the game and ask if he would help her. Oh well.
{ sorry for short replies and lack of coding - I'm doing this real quick before I go to school }
