Dawnshadow waited at the highstones with Eclipsesky. The shecat pawed at the ground lightly. Last time they had been here she was warned about Meadowbrook’s treachery. She only hoped it was good news this time.

(Suddenly Spiderpaw loses his tongue so SkyClan goes through the whole cycle of having a blind, deaf, and now mute medicine cat XD)
"I don't know if it would be possible for a mute cat to be a medicine cat. How would they communicate?" Spiderpaw flicked his tail at the thought. He was grateful Lavendersky was getting going again.

Lavendersky snorted softly, rolling her glazed over eyes. "No one knows how a medicine cat can be blind or deaf either, but I have heard of deaf medicine cats, and I'm blind."

Lavendersky snorted softly, "He wasn't a medicine cat long when he went deaf. I was talking about other stories I have heard over the years." She said with a lash of her tail.

"Uh huh." Spiderpaw replied calmly. He perked his ears forward when he spotted the silhouettes of the other medicine cats. "Looks like Eclispesky and Dawnshadow are up by the mothermouth. Peachdapple and Aspenfall too." Spiderpaw flicked his tail in greeting as they drew closer.

"Are they?" Lavendersky asked, unable to detect their scents with the wind and general weather. Her senses were definitely weaker than they used to be.

Spiderpaw flattened his ears and there was even a bit of a hesitance in his steps. He didn't like it when Lavendersky talked like that. "When we get back to camp, I'll get you juicy pigeon. Nice and fat without a lot of feathers. That'll perk you back up."

Lavendersky tipped her head towards him, "Perk me back up? Who said I needed perking?" She snorted softly, shaking her head as she padded on. (I swear! I keep starting to type "glanced over" "looked around" "glared at ____" and it's like that don't work!)

I forgot about the medicine cat gathering, oops! Good thing I noticed before it started lol)
Aspenfall sat next to Peachdapple quietly, unsure if he should start a conversation with the others. He had no idea if the other medicine cats were expecting news tonight or not. Dawnshadow and Eclipsesky had arrived before them, but the other medicine cats had yet to show.

"Peachdapple. Aspenfall." Spiderpaw nodded in greeting to the medicine cats when he and Lavendersky reached the mother mouth. He wanted to pull attention away from Lavendersky's heavy breath. "We're glad to see you made it safely."

Lavendersky gave a small huff, "we might be the farthest, but we rarely seem to be last." She said as she turned her head about. An ear flicked as she listened to everyone.

Spiderpaw flicked his ear. He glanced at Lavendersky. They were likely going to be waiting a while. He wanted to make sure she had no trouble sitting down to rest her legs, but he also didn't want her to appear weak in front of the other medicine cats. They'd start thinking she wouldn't be able to finish his training. Peachdapple was probably already preparing a lesson plan for him like she did with Specklecreek. He flicked the tip of his tail in defensiveness. That was not going to happen! He'd finish his training and make Lavendersky proud. He'll get his full name by next moon, he was sure of it!
Spiderpaw sat down next to his mentor to keep a good eye on her.

LAvendersky gave a small yawn and turned her head about, sitting down and curling her tail around her paws. She hadn't spoken to anyone about this gathering, what she had planned for it. It was a long time coming, and had been delayed many times for one reason or anything. You are not delaying it again, Starclan. She thought to herself as she listened to the other cats around them.

Opalmist shifted her paws, silent as she seemed deep in thought. While Leopardshadow’s kitting thankfully had no issues, she still couldn’t help but think of Hiddendream, and then of her own kits, even though she knew they were safe with Frostyfoot. She quickly pushed away the thought, not wanting the guilt to spear her even more. She felt it though, that something heavy was brewing, and she couldn’t help but think it was her fault.
Peachdapple flicked her tail slowly, speaking calmly and warmly with Specklecreek.

Lavendersky listened to Spiderpaw, but did not interrupt his conversation. This was good, he wasn't always the greatest and initiating conversations, but between Medicine Cats, he needed to feel comfortable, they were the neutral party in all clan conflicts.

Spiderpaw blinked. Many new kits? That wasn't surprising given the new-leaf season; however, concerning since the forest was still lacking preywise. "SkyClan is alright," Spiderpaw idly shrugged with a glance at Lavendersky. "Keeping us on our toes." He wasn't exactly sure what to tell. SkyClan didn't have a lot of news lately.

“I wish nothing but calamity and wellness for Skyclan.” Opalmist murmured, meaning it genuinely. She looked at Spiderpaw and Lavendersky, needing to know. “Have you any new ceremonies? New warriors tend to be clumsy with their excitement, and get injured.” She mewed airily. Were her kits Warriors? Did they make Skyclan proud?
