((Jump in as a Clan cat or a rogue )) It had just turned day, the sun already beating down on Maple's thick ginger coat. She sighs and pads back to her den. Her stomach rumbled, telling her that she has to hunt instead. She sighs, once again, and walks into the shady forest. Almost right away, she smells a mouse and crouches into her hunters crouch. Maple sees a mouse nibbling on a seed. She jumps up and catches it by it's tail, giving it a quick nip on the neck. The mouse stops struggling and goes limp. Maple picks up the mouse in her jaws and takes it back to her make-sift den.

(Hi there!)
Minksplash scented the air as he wandered the territory, his short brown-and-grey fur blending in easily with his surroundings. He was a newly made warrior and was almost desperate to prove that he was worthy of his new name. He'd joined the Clan when he was eight moons old and had been living with twolegs before he'd heard about the wild cats who caught their own food and lived together, bound by a code. He was welcomed almost reluctantly and had trained hard to reach the status of warrior, even though he was still a bit awkward around his peers. He was loyal, though, and tended to avoid the twolegplace due to the fact that he was rather well-known and a lot of cats would be wondering where little old Mink had gone. Shaking his head, Minksplash realized that he could scent another cat, one who didn't carry any Clan scent on them. He hesitated a little before he began tracking the cat, not taking too long before he stumbled upon a make-shift den resting on the edge of the territory. Giving a careful sniff, he noticed how fresh the smell of the cat was- she must be in her den! "Excuse me." He tried to use an authoritative tone but his voice cracked at the end, leaving only his normal, soft voice.

Turtlesong, a dark brown point Birman with white toes, followed Minksplash's scent. She had wanted to patrol with him, but he had left camp before she had been able to ask him, well since they were both new warriors. She was made a warrior a few sunrises ago. Her dark blue eyes scanned the area before she spotted him not far away, it looked like he was trying to talk to someone. "Minksplash!" She called, bounding over. Her brown ears twitched as she noticed rouge scent and realized that they were next to a make-shift den.

Lasher laid above the two clan cats. The red bengal cat, watched with a taunting calm manner, almost amused at his unnoticed presence. His piercing blue eyes watched the two. Not only had he been here when the clan cats arrived, but he had been here all night. Though he wouldn't admit it, he made a small mistake in his location and got caught up and a small storm last night. He had found refuge in the tree and decided to stay put when he spotted another rogue leaving her den this morning. And then, the moment he was ready to leave, the clan cats had arrived as well. At least he might get some information about dangerous rogues or the locations where prey was abundant. If thats what clan cats even talked about

"Minksplash, how many rouges can you scent? I think there's multiple." She asked the tom next to her, looking around for the other rouge. "Maybe I'm wrong, I don't see one outside of that make-shift den."

Lasher raised an eyebrow, to the feline extent and looked at the Clan cat below with sassy amusement. He found it all quite amusing. Of course he should've been insulted that his presence wasn't noticed, but Lasher wasn't like that. He liked to lay low, listen, gain knowledge, and then use it to his advantage. The tom was tempted to reveal his presence, but held himself back. A clan cat, f they are as great as some say, should be able to find him. If not, then he had a bit of knowledge the rest of the rogues didn't.

"No, I'm sure there's another cat," Turtlesong murmured, padding a couple tail lengths away. There was a faint pooled scent, like it was there but wasn't and the scent didn't lead anywhere. "Maybe... in the trees?" She mewed to herself, looking up, trying to spot a cat among the branches.

Lasher, continued to watch the she-cat with both suspicsion and amusement. He would admit [only to himself] that the clan cat surprised him. But he wouldn't move. That was a wrong descision. Although his coloring might displace him, it also helped him blend with the bark of the bright orange tree. If the she-cat simply looked over the spot quickly, she might not notice him. If he moved, she definitly would. So Lasher remained perfectly still, even his tail laid neatly on the branch. When the Clan cat looked in the trees Lasher relaxed to look more natural, his head staying lain on his paws, but shifting into a almost sleepy position. In fact it would look like he was sleeping, except his unusually bright blue eyes stood out like torches, watching the clan cats silently.

Turtlesong thought she saw something in the branches, but she wasn't sure. The she-cat acted as though she were padding away, but really she went behind the tree and started clawing her way up until she got to the branched. She pulled herself onto one then onto another until she was sure that what she saw was the form of a cat.

Lasher watched the clan cat walk away and chuckled silently to himself. The clan cats really were dim. He would've moved, but the tom was still down there and he prefered to stay until they both left. But senseing the the tom wasn't looking, Lasher shifted into a more comfortable laying position. He moved his head from his paws and even let his tail drop down and dangle from the branch, swaying a bit as he swung it back and forth.

"Are you aware that you are on clan territory?" Turtlesong asked firmly, now on a branch closer to the red bangle. "We do not take lightly to unwanted visitors.' She growled.

Lasher inwardly jumped, startled by the voice. However outwardly, he turned his head and looked at the she-cat over his shoulder. The tom chuckled in a sassy, amused way. For a moment he didn't answer, just looked calmly at the she-cat. Then finally he pushed himself to his feet and stood there looking at her. "I am aware that you are in this tree and I never recalled any clan cats climbing up here and marking this spot. So are you even completely sure its yours. Even so, I'm hardly being unwanted. I haven't threatened you at all. I've been sitting in this tree being completely peaceful" Lasher said in his deep, silky voice, his tail swaying calmly behind him.

"The warrior code states to challenge all trespassing cats, and you are trespassing. A few tail lengths from this tree we set the markers and they go all the way around out territory and you are within those markers. If you do not leave by choice then I will have to force you to leave." Turtlesong replied, forcing the annoyance out of her voice.

Lasher tilted his head in partial defiance and a slight mocking/questioning manner. "A few tail lengths south of the tree or north. I'm afraid you'll have trouble removing me by force. I hate to be rude, but I hate rude cats even more" He said cooly. There was no malice or threat in his voice. He remained casual and calm.

Turtlesong was about to argue with him when she thought, it's not worth it, I can just report him later, I shouldn't be getting into this. She lashed her tail and jumped down from the tree after piercing him with a cold glare.

Reedtail looked around the camp for Turtlesong. She hadn't seen the young warrior for a while, and she was starting to get worried. She hoped she was with another cat and that they were safe. But just as she was about to give up looking, she noticed the strong scent of Turtletail near the edge of the camp. It seemed to be leading towards the trees. Taking a warrior with her, she stepped into the forest, following the fresh scent trail.

Lasher watched her go with a smug glint in his eyes. He had won. And yet, still feeling overly smug, he stood and turned in her direction. "Leaving so soon?" He meowed at her, " I was beginning to enjoy your company" His voice held a slight flirtatious yet mocking tone.

"Strategic withdrawal." Turtlesong mewed simply. "By the way, I like someone else, you never had a chance." She looked back at him, her voice taunting, a smug look on her face. Her dark blue eyes were dancing with amusement as she added, "Maybe I'd like you a little more if you left our territory." She flicked her tail goodbye to Minksplash, thinking it best to head back to camp. As she was padding away, she noticed Reedtail and another warrior. "Hello Reedtail!" She called, bounding over.

Reedtail and the other warrior padded onwards, still following the trail. Another warrior had gone exactly the same way, it seemed, and Reedtail, upon realising this, breathed a deep sigh of relief. This meant that wherever Turtlesong was, she wasn't alone. As they steadily walked on, the other warrior, Greyfoot, began to realise that they were now heading in a fixed direction: towards their Clan's border. He stopped and turned his head towards Reedtail, who stopped too. "Do you think they could have gone off our territory? I hope not, but, we never know..." he mowed darkly, looking at her with clear concern in his deep brown eyes. She was silent for a moment, Greyfoot's concern mirrored in her green eyes. "No, I'd doubt it... I don't know a single cat that would leave in such a way, there must definitely be something else." she finally replied, shaking her head as she started walking again. But, just as she had made her first few steps, she stopped again, and said quietly to Greyfoot " I smell an intruder" . Both the tortoiseshell she-cat and the silver tabby tom unheated their claws, then leapt through the trees quietly hissing, hoping it would scare the intruder away and that they would not need to fight.

Turtlesong stopped, confused by Reedtail and Greyfoot. Did they not notice me? It looks like they smelled the rouges, but, they could've at least said hi.

They leapt in the rogue's direction, only to suddenly realise that Turtlesong and Minksplash were there too. They were standing in what seemed to be the rogue's den. There also wasn't only one rogue: there were two. "What're you rogues doing on our territory?" Reedtail snarled, while a very protective Greyfoot hissed at the two rogues.

Minksplash watched this unfold around him and twitched his whiskers, wondering how exactly he'd attracted three other Clan cats on his mission. "I think we all need to calm down. Speaking to others is better than jumping into a fight. We don't even know what we're in for!" He couldn't disguise his anxiety as he spoke and flattened his ears, just knowing he sounded like a wimpy apprentice. "What I mean is- we should ask the cats to leave first and if they don't, then we can drive them away." He glanced up at the 'patrol' with nervousness clear in his eyes- sure, they outnumbered the two rogues, but the stories he'd been told in his kithood stuck with him. "Not that I'm soft." He reminded them all with a nod, unsheathing his claws in case that's how things went- he didn't want to be viewed like the kittypet he used to be, instead wanting to be seen as the responsible warrior he'd trained so hard to become.

Lasher shook his head in an uncaring manner and laid back down to watch. Only to be disturbed by the other two Clan cats leaping into the small clearing. Lasher, remaining in his relaxed layig position, looked at the new gathering of Clan cats. He was obviously outnumbered, but being so close to the border of their territory, he decided not to worry. Instead he leaned over the branch and looked at the cats. "My, my, this is a grand sight. Having one of your fancy Gatherings here or are you lost?" Lasher purred in a silky tone.

"No cat thinks you're soft, Minksplash. I already asked that rogue up there nicely to leave, but he didn't, so that's one cat we have to drive away by force, but you're right, we still need to question this one." Turtlesong agreed with him, gesturing with her tail to the rouge den.

Lasher listened quietly to the conversation, obviously amused at the idea of making him leave by force. He glanced at the den and then shook his head. "You wouldn't want to get that one. She's a nasty little thing" He said, meaning the she-cat who stayed in the den below. He didn't know her, in all honesty, only saw her once. Which was this morning, when she left. But who said honesty was required in life?

"We have no reason to listen to you." Minksplash snapped at Lasher, his head turning and his eyes narrowing as he spotted the rogue among the branches once more. "So if you would quiet down, that would be appreciated." The pitch of his voice made his tone less threatening and Minksplash realized this, so decided to back up his words with actions. He got to his paws and turned toward the tree, hackles raising and his muscles rippling as he prepared to leap up and scale the trunk. To be honest, he knew this was an incredibly stupid thing to do but he simply just didn't want to seem like he was going to sit there and let a rogue stay on their territory, seemingly just lounging around. Prey was hard enough after all the storms that'd been happening lately and they didn't need a careless cat mooching off of their low supply of food.

"Oh, dear, scary clan cat coming to get me" Lasher said with mock fear. He watched the clan cat with obvious mockry and amusement on his face and in his eyes. But his tone quickly turned slightly threatening, yet calm and cool. "Come and get me if you want to lose a leg or two" He said, standing up and moving to the trunk of the tree, sitting down. Inviting the clan cat to come get him, in a way.
