"We've got tons of games." Finkit interrupted Rosekit and Smallkit with a small grin of her own, challenge in her eyes as she mewed. "Like mossball! Or Hide the Shell! I'm the best at all of them." She decided, much to Rosekit's puff of gentle argument.
"I'm good at them too!" He argued, as Finkit stuck her tongue out playfully.

"Maybe I'll beat you!" Smallkit squeaked slyly, "How do you play?" She shot a glance at- Who was that? Oh right, Finkit, with the same amount of challange in her eyes, if she was to be respected, somewhat atleast, she needed to know clan customs.

(whoops, misread he vs she) “Best of luck then,” she replied. Then, sensing a slight ripple of envy, added, “I’m sure you’ll be up next time. Plenty of kits in the nursery, yeah?” Feeling a bit embarrassed that she noticed, Iciclestep quickly assured. “Yes, that is-… I mean, you’re right. If we’re lucky, you and I can get apprentices at the same time. That would be nice.” He mewed, honest about that, for it meant they could train apprentices together. Snowflower purred. “Wouldn’t that make us quite the pair? It’d be fun to hold trainings with you. I’m sure we’d do a great job with them.” |

(Sorry for being inactive in the past few weeks! School's been tough...) Mistshadow gathered some moss from the bottom of a tree trunk and pressed it into a ball. "I'm done. How about you?" Borchtail mumbled around a mouthful of moss, tail held happily high. “Ready!” She could just imagine the kits’ joy at all they’d managed to gather. |

Earthstar looked satisfied with the Clan's reaction. He noted Koishade's uncertain look in her eyes and hummed. He hoped mentorship would be a good experience for her, even if things started rocky. "With the apprentices out of the nursery, you may have noticed more activity around there today. Foxripple found a lone kit on our territory and decided to bring her in." he reported. "Her name is Smallkit, and she will be staying with us for the time being. If she chooses to remain here and become an apprentice in time, we will welcome her. But before then, I cannot in good conscience allow a lone kit to live on our territory with the Prey Maulers and flooding about."
As Earthstar moved on, Koishade looked thankful for the change in attention. She kept glancing between her leader and her apprentice, looking like she wasn't sure what to do with Graypaw. I hope this meeting continues for a while longer...
Winterfrost watched Earthstar with appreciation. The very same situation had allowed her son to now stand as Clan deputy.

Smallkit puffed out her chest, "of course I will!" She squeak from the nursery then backed away from sight into the den as amused and curious gazes turned her direction once she was sure they had focused back on earthstar she appeared again to watch, then turned back to Finkit and Rosekit waiting for an answer.

Foxripple chuckled fondly at Smallkit's interruption, his eyes bright at the thought of the kit wanting to stay in Riverclan. If anything, it meant that he could hopefully help her fit in. It truly was a spectacle, how quickly he had grown attached to her, as if she were his own kit.
"Now everyone's looking at us!" Finkit whispered sharply, before she shook her head and decided to focus back on the game. "Okay. Hide the Shell is super easy. You just close your eyes, while the hider hides the shell in the den. Then, you open your eyes and have to find the shell." Finkit explained.
Diamondheart looked thoughtfully at the nursery, before he caught his mother's gaze. The deputy offered Winterfrost a small and knowing smile, hoping that she knew that he had never blamed her for being lost in that blizzard. If anything, his mother had unknowingly given him the greatest life he could have asked for, as deputy of Riverclan. He smiled towards Smallkit, hoping to see her become a Warrior of Riverclan if she wanted to stay.

(sorry for short response, I gotta get some others up aswell) “This is a shell. And I’ll hide it first.” Finkit decided, scampering over to where a white shell was placed against the nursery wall. There were marks where tiny claws wore it down, but the shell remained sturdy and snowwy white. She looked at her brother and Smallkit before nodding. “Close your eyes, and no peeking!” |

"Ok!" Smallkit mewed then closed her eyes as she waited for Finkit to hide the shell. Smallkit thought of all the small like corners and spots that would be good for hiding as she heard Finkit scufling around to hide the Shell and Smallkit wondered if there were any nooks she hadn't noticed, surely there are she thought, I've probally only seen half the nursery!

Truthfully, she wasn’t so sure about mentoring, but it was fun to imagine guiding apprentices together. She was sure she could help a young cat learn to hunt and to respect the warrior code, but the idea that they’d be reliant on her for learning to fight? That her teaching could someday mean life or death was just… too much to bear. She didn’t think she had the heart for it. As the ceremonies drew to a close, she wondered aloud, “Is there something else Earthstar plans on telling us about?” |

"Eyes open! I hid the shell. Go ahead and go find it, if you can!" She challenged boldly. Rosekit looked at Smallkit, giving her a small smile. "Let's go look over near the nests!" mintleaf2)) Iciclestep looked at Earthstar for a moment, his eyes flashing over to the nursery as he mumbled. "I think that the kit that Foxripple found is likely going to be staying with us..." He wasn't sure how to feel, but he knew that the Code said that all kits must be taken care of. So, he decided to accept the invitation with grace. After all, Riverclan was thriving right now, and had plenty of prey and training to spare for a prospective new Riverclan Warrior.

"Ok!" Smallkit mewed, "Maybe its under some of them?" she thought aloud. Smallkit glanced over at the nests and raced over to one, she peaked under a few and didn't find anything, yet, her head wipped around the den, "Rosekit, are there any good crevices or nooks that are good spots to hide shells?" Smallkit hadn't been in the camp long, and didn't know her way around all that well, so the shell coul be in one of the most easy to find or get to places and it still might take Smallkit a while to find it.

Rosekit poked his nose beneath his mother's nest, puffing as he came up without luck. He pouted as Finkit giggled behind him, clearly indicating that he wasn't close to it. Rosekit looked at Smallkit, scampering over to her as he nodded to the corner of the den. "There's some spots over there where the old moss gets put for the apprentices to take out. Maybe it's back there!"

Suddenly her nose hit something hard buried in the moss, she clawed it out and hmfed as she heard Finkt giggled louder behind her. Smallkit had found a shell, but not the right one, this one was much more swirlly then the one Finkit had shown her. She glanced over at Rosekit to see how he was doing.

Finkit giggled again, hiding her muzzle behind her paw as she watched Smallkit and Rosekit pull out the wrong shells. Rosekit puffed again, only to narrow his eyes at his sister. Finkit would have picked a very hard hiding spot. He suddenly turned his head around, to where Owlwhisker was tucked up beside Littleshadow and their sleeping kits. The tom seemed a bit secretive, his tail curled tightly around something as he hid a small smile from the kits. Rosekit blinked, before he nudged Smallkit and whispered. "I bet Finkit hid it under Owlwhisker's tail. He likes to play games, he'd totally let her do that." |

"Ooo!" Smallkit squeaked in a whisper, "Thats a good idea." Smallkit slowly made her way over to Owlwhisker and softly said to him, "We know you have it!" She was careful not to wake the other kits and narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously.

Owlwhisker blinked at the kits with a dramatic whispering hum. He tapped his chin with his paw. "Have it? What could I possibly have? I've just been laying here, nothing else." He giggled, knowing good and well that the shell was beneath his long tail. Finkit's pleased giggles were an indication that he indeed was clearly hiding the shell.

Her eyes became wide with excitment as she had an idea, Smallkit had heard something about foxes earlier, and how they liked to steal prey, "Give us back our prey fox! And get off Riverclan territory!" she replied in a hushed yowl. Smallkit then pounced on his tail fiercely.

Owlwhisker gave a humored grin, gasping dramatically. "A fox?! Well, that's right! I'm the evil fox, here to steal all your shells." He allowed Smallkit to wrestle with his tail before he lifted his paw to swat harmlessly at Rosekit, who was trying to nose his way under his tail to get the shell.

"Grr! We are the strongest RiverClan warriors, you cannot defeat us!!" her yowl had grown slightly louder, but still quiet enough to not wake the little kits, she bit his tail, but her small teeth didn't make much of a mark, and he still had amusment in his eyes. (cant spell sorry, lol I gtg to school rn, cyall)

Maybe being a warrior meant more than just being born into the clan. That was too big of a thought for the moment. For now, she could celebrate and hope that this kit would grow up to follow and respect their way of living. She purred with laughter as the new kit started playing with Rosekit and Finkit. “She certainly has the energy to match those two.” |

"Gah!" Owlwhisker gasped , quiet yet playful as he rolled on his side, allowing his tail to sweep away and reveal the shell. He sighed dramatically. "I can't defeat such powerful Riverclan Warriors! Take the shell and let me go free!" He grinned lightly to himself.
Rosekit gave a victorious purr, nodding to Smallkit. "Go on and get it! You can hide it next since you found it." He offered.

Iciclestep watched Snowflower for a moment, able to see that she seemed to be thinking about something. Instead, he offered a single small chuckle at the sight of the kits. "Good to see them playing. That's all kits should have to worry about, you know? Finding shells and playing games. It's the greatest sign we can have, that Riverclan is thriving. It's all I could wish for." He admitted.

Earthstar's gaze met Alder's as the noise died down within the crowd. He was tempted to share what he wanted to say to the former loner in front of the Clan, but he knew it wasn't quite time. He swished his tail and prepared to jump down from the Reed Rock. "That is all."
Koishade watched her grandfather end the meeting hopelessly. She looked at her new apprentice and cleared her throat. "Um..." What should she do?

Smallkit gave a squeak of delight, "We did it!" she whispered then scooped up the shell and trotted over to Finkit, "Yippee!" she announced, "we found it! Now its my turn to hide it," Smallkit grinned at Finkit as Rosekit trotted over, and she waited to see if Finkit would have a funny reaction.

Owlwhisker rolled back to lay on his belly again, watching the kits from his spot beside Littleshadow, before he glanced down at his own kits with a beaming smile. One day soon, they would be playing games like this, and hiding shells under his tail. Excitement filled him, as well as a powerful sense of love.
Rosekit scampered back over with Smallkit, watching as Finkit reluctantly gave up her seat as hider. She shrugged, before grinning. "Alright then. I'm really good at this, so you better hide it super well!" She closed her eyes, nudging Rosekit to do the same. "Go on then!"
