Stormsplash purred as he watched the apprentices step forward, though internally he wondered what his own kits ceremony had been like and his heart ached once again.
Tinypool pressed her nose to Sproutpaw's ear, murmuring to him. "It'll be your ceremony before you know it."
Sproutpaw sat up a bit straighter, hoping that Diamondheart would announce him as proudly as Orchidnight had for Silentpaw.

Crookedpaw almost couldn’t keep still with excitment. He was finally going to be a warrior!

Fluffcloud watched the ceremony silently, both supportive of Crookedpaw's step into becoming a Warrior, and hopeful that she would be able to get his and his siblings' support when the time came to start really amping up her and Eelshock's plans. For now, she sat beside her sisters.

"Yea... well, we should do that right now!" Moonriver brushed against Birchtail as she hurried out of the nursery, turning her head and blinking at the smallest, newest arrival. What's her name? Sightkit? Sunkit? Oh, Smallkit!. "We should make one for Smallkit too. She's tiny!" Moonriver whisper- shouted. ”I’m sure she’ll love one!” Birchtail purred, following her out of the den and out of camp toward where the bedding they collected was lush. “Playing mossball with the other kits is sure to get her feeling more comfortable with them. I certainly remember how fun it was just playing with Snowflower.” “Come on then! What are you waiting for?” Moonriver asked, stretching her paws. |

Earthstar nodded in approval and continued. "I, Earthstar, call upon StarClan to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to learn the way of your code, and I commend them as warriors in your turn. "Silentpaw, Arcticpaw, Crookedpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect RiverClan, even if it means to lose your life?"

Silentpaw shared an excited look with Arcticpaw before she looked back at Earthstar, "I do." She mewed, raising her chin proudly as she spoke.
"I do." Arcticpaw echoed, her tail twitching in excitement.

"Then, by the powers of StarClan, I grant you your new names." Earthstar called, looking at each new warrior. "Silentpaw, from this day forward, you shall be known as Silentshade. StarClan honors your honesty and energy. Crookedpaw, you shall be known as Crookedstalk. StarClan honors your intelligence and dedication. And Arcticpaw, you shall be known as Arcticflower. StarClan honors your patience and spirit, and we welcome you all as full warriors of RiverClan!"
"Silentshade! Crookedstalk! Arcticflower!" My cats cheered.

Littleshadow purred as she watched from the nursery entrance. Iriskit and Sapkit at her paws, their eyes just starting to open.

Smallkit jumped at the sound of the loud voices, "Who that?" she asked Rosekit, "Why so loud?" she poked her head out of the nursery, fur slightly bristling, tail poofed up to double its size. She looked around at the yowling cats, were they mad? Maybe they disliked the fact Smallkit was here, and they wanted to drive her out! Maybe Earthstar was gathering cats now to help him banish her! But wait- her ears pricked, they didn't sound mad, and they were shouting, names? Soon enough the voices came clear, 'SilentShade! CrookedStalk! ArticFlower!' was what Smallkit mainly got from their voices, she turned back to Rosekit and waited for an answer.

Foxripple cheered warmly for his nieces and nephew, eyes bright with pride for them and their accomplishments. He idly wondered how Reedheart was feeling, after being so nervous to be a father. Now, his kits were Warriors... and Foxripple still had none of his own. The thought was both relieving and saddening at the same time. After all, such a dream had been ripped apart in his heart the day Graysplash died. Who would want to raise kits with him, the big mess he was?
Rosekit and Finkit poked their heads outside the nursery. Rosekit looked at Smallkit and puffed. "Crookedstalk, Arcticflower, and Silentshade just became Warriors! That's going to be us one day. We'll get a cool name and get to leave camp anytime we like when we become Warriors. Mama's out there because she mentored Silentshade." He explained.

Nightflame eyes glinted with pride as she called out the new names of her kits, glad to see that they had proven themselves to be warriors of RiverClan.
Arcticflower purred as the clan cheered for her and her siblings, liking the sound of the name Earthstar had chosen for her. She looked over at Silentshade and Crookedstalk to see what they thought of their new names.
Silentshade lifted her head proudly, glad that they had finally been made into warriors.

Puddlepaw cheered loudly for the new Warriors, though his eyes were right on Silentshade the whole time. What a cool name! It was fitting, for such an impressive cat like her. Puddlepaw couldn't help but be smitten, though his chest ached as he realized that she wouldn't be in the apprentice's den with him anymore.
Orchidnight cheered for her apprentice and her siblings.

Alder nodded, “Earthstar chose well! They seem to fit the cats well,” he mused. He tilted his head to the side, considering. Someday soon he might be getting a new name. If these names were any indicator, there was nothing to worry about. Turning to the apprentice he asked, “What do you think your warrior name will be?”

Sheeppaw tapped his thick, fluffy tail, humming in thought. "I ain't really thought 'bout if b'fore..." he mused. Secretly, he really couldn't see himself fighting for territory or patrolling boundaries; he'd much rather care for the Clan from the camp. Things like maintaining dens, helping with the queens and kits, those were the things he wanted to do - and he wasn't sure if that would make him a warrior. "An' I ain't so sure how these names work, neither. My mama called me Sheep or Lammy, so when I got here Earthstar tacked on a 'paw' and called it a day!"
"What 'bout, you? How's yer name work anyhow? Ain't it the Star folks that give it to ya?" he asked, unsure how a medicine cat was named.

Earthstar waited for the cheering to die down with a smile. When it did, he continued, casting his gaze to the front of the nursery. "Now, with there being three empty nests in the apprentice's den, so are three kits ready to advance to the next stage in the Clan. Songkit, Viperkit, and Graykit, please step forward."

Smallkit said happily, then relized some of the other kits where out there, "Now what they doing?" he head tilted, "Arn't they too young to be- Warriors?" she had forgoten the last word for a second, but then quickly remembered what Rosekit had called them, a warrior, that sounds fierce! I wonder what my name will be?

Awakened by the cheering, Marshpaw came to with bleary, tired eyes cracking open - as though he hadn’t slept at all. Feeling stiff and waterlogged, Marshpaw tried to clean the worst of the scent of Dark Forest River off of him. Noticing no one else was in the den, he stepped into the clearing and noted with surprise that a clan meeting had been called. He quietly joined the clan, smiling at the kits who were about to start their training - especially Songkit and Viperkit, who he’d interacted with more than a few times. He hoped the two of them would make great denmates.
Alder hummed at the question. He was a little nervous to meet Starclan, but grateful all the same. Though he hadn’t been born a clan cat, he felt drawn to these mysterious ancestors. Feeling a wisdom he hadn’t yet earned, he said, “Whatever they choose, I’m sure it’ll feel like home. All of this has,” he admitted, quietly. “I trust them, though I don’t know them yet.”

Songkit walked toward Earthstar with her head held high, eyes glittering with excitement.
Viperkit bounded up beside Songkit, but looked a bit more bashful as he saw the whole clan looking at him.
Minnowtail purred, sitting up straight as her kits stepped forward. She was already so proud of them.
