”Do you think this is a scout?” She said in a low voice, hackles raising toward the intruder. If the twolegs were to encroach on their territory, it would be bad news for the clan. “If he is, he’s doing a wretched job. No sense of stealth, no hiding his scent. He hasn’t called out once for his patrol.” Iciclestep rumbled softly, before he tensed. Finally, the twoleg seemed to be moving back towards the border, stepping over it and out onto what looked like a trodden down path through the river grasses. Relief began to lower her hackles as the twoleg began to retreat. She watched quietly from the undergrowth as the figure disappeared down the path. Snowflower let out a sigh and shrank in on herself a little. It would’ve been difficult to chase the twoleg off, so she was glad he’d left on her own volition. She looked wistfully toward the windclan border. As much as she’d wanted to go see the waterfall, it was probably better to make their report sooner than later. “We should probably head back, yeah?” She asked, a little disappointed.

Petalcreek watched as Coppersky tried to catch a fish and wandered over to him, letting out a gentle mew, "Try this. Instead of looking everywhere at once, find a focal point on the water." She offered, lifting a paw and placing it just above the water to indicate where he should look. "Once you see that flash of scales at that point, that's when you should strike." Sorry Ice, I thought I responded to this. ) Coppersky nodded, "Alright." He crouched back down by the water's edge, focusing on the point that Petalcreek had indicated toward. His tail waved above him anxiously as he watched the flashes of fish go by. Taking a deep breath, he locked his gaze on one of the flashes and swiped his paw through the wave, returning up with a fish triumphantly. He grinned up at Petalcreek. "Thank you!"

It's all good! ^.^)
"Nice job! Just remember that and I think you'll be bringing in more fish than any of us." Petalcreek said with a purr, glad that she was able to help Coppersky with his fishing skills after all. "Would you like to try for a couple more? I won't mind staying out of camp a little while longer." She mewed, looking at their small pile of fish.

Coppersky glanced back at the few fish that Petalcreek had already caught, "Let me try for one more and then we can go back. I don't want to keep you out here just for me."

"Alright, sounds like a plan then." Petalcreek said, sitting back to give Coppersky some space to catch his last fish. At least she was able to get out of camp for a bit, and the fish they had caught would certainly make a nice edition to the fresh-kill pile.

Blackmask sighed, but didn't feel annoyed with Bubblebrook's teasing. The she-cat was one of the few cats in the Clan who he didn't seem to mind or annoy him. "Well, I guess I'll keep that in mind when I'm looking for someone to go hunting with me next time." He mumbled around the minnows, finally gathering up the last one. Giving a flick of his tail, he turned and set a brisk pace towards the camp. Bubblebrook followed him, quieted by the minnows in her jaws, but unabashedly staring at the tom's back as they walked. She wasn't blind, he certainly had a handsome and stoic air to him. What she-cat wouldn't like that? She wanted to giggle, feeling a bit moony. She didn't hate it though. Being the deputy's daughter seemed to make some cats feel like she was off-limits. She wanted the attention, to tease and flirt like other cats her age did. Maybe Blackmask would entertain her, like a little secret she hid from her father, and possibly her sisters, though she knew they were as nosy as she was.

Hopefully, that's the only twoleg we'll see out here for a while." Iciclestep nodded to Snowflower, a bit guilty at the wistful look she was giving at the border. He vowed to make sure to come out here with her again soon, so they could complete their initial goal. He turned to quickly pad back towards camp.

Coppersky missed the next fish he tried for but managed to catch a sizable one on his second attempt. He dropped it into their pile with a hum. "This will feed all the nursery and the elders at least! Thank you again for the tips Petalcreek. They were very helpful." He mewed with a respectful dip of his head.

Blackmask made his way through the camp entrance and started for the fresh-kill pile, dropping his minnows on top before turning to look back at Bubblebrook. "Thank you for going hunting with me, I appreciate it." He mewed, giving her a grateful nod.
Petalcreek gave him a friendly smile, once again glad to be of help to someone else for once, "Of course, let me know if you need any more tips on anything else. I'll try my best to give you good advice." She mewed, picking up her own fish and giving a flick of her tail as she turned to head back to camp.

Don’t be shy to invite me out of camp more, okay?” She teased, hoping that he would take her up on the offer. She liked seeing if he would fluster at her teasing.

Snowflower followed after him quickly, trying to mask the faint disappointment. It was what it was, and she knew it was the priority. And plus, she had a feeling that a little of his abruptness right now was his own discomfort at her disappointment. She kept a quick pace beside him all the way back to camp. When the reeds of the camp wall came in sight, she finally started to slow, not wanting to alert the guard on duty. Nodding as she passed the guard, she tried seeing who in the clearing would be best to alert. It looked as though Earthstar was in the middle of something, so she turned and said quietly, not knowing about the new kit, “I wonder if something happened.”

“Duskhawk’s right.” Swanflight agreed, smiling at the elders as Duskhawk explained their reasoning. She looked around the den slowly, wondering what kinds of cats and stories had filled this den. She wondered if she would make it that far, to one day be in here. “Mm. Good enough. We can go back.” Bubblebrook hummed as she inspected the pile of minnows they had caught. She looked up at Blackmask, her eyes sparkling and warm. “We make a pretty good team, yeah?” Duskhawk glanced back at Swanflight briefly before looking back at the elders, having expected her to talk more with them. "Um, if there's anything else we can do for you, we'll be happy to do it." He mewed awkwardly, unsure of what else to say. Blackmask looked up as she spoke, feeling a flush go through him when he saw her sparkling eyes, "Oh, uh, yeah. Yeah, we do." He said, looking back down at the minnows. "We both did a pretty good job here." Slatefur bobbed his head at Duskhawk as Smokestream tucked into the prey. “We’re quite alright in here, but we appreciate the freshkill!”

Alder stretched luxuriously in his nest, stretching his legs out past the side of the moss and sinking his chin into the comfy greens. With a yawn, he picked himself up off the nest and shook out the bits of moss that clung to his short fur. A few rasps of his tongue later and his pelt was clear again.
This den still felt a little too spacious, compared to the nests he’d cuddle up with his siblings in, but the scent of Riverclan was starting to feel more normal.
He padded into the clearing, squinting up at the sun overhead. It was a bright day, and sure to be a warm one. He watched the clan curiously, trying to remember the shapes and colors of the cats all around.

When Smallkit fell asleep, Earthstar sighed lightly. "She must be exhausted from her journey here." he mewed quietly, feeling a shadow fall over him. Though RiverClan was doing well, he suspected that it was not the case in the other Clans. How much longer will we enjoy this prosperity? He knew that peace never lasted. Turning to leave the nursery, he mewed, "I believe I need to welcome her into the Clan... and make some room for her in here." “Some ceremonies, then.” Smogstorm mewed gently, a hint of excitement in her mew as she waited for Earthstar to call the Clan together. Earthstar looked at Smogstorm with a smile and made his way to the Reed Rock. Before he moved to jump to the top, he glimpsed Alder watching from the medicine cat den. The tom already looked like he belonged in camp. It's time for me to speak with him after this meeting. I can't delay any longer. he told himself, feeling a sense of resolve as he jumped and observed camp from the top of the Reed Rock. "Let all cats old enough to swim gather!"

Snowflower’s words died in her throat as Earthstar called the meeting. She sent a worried look to Iciclestep and approached the gathering cats, sticking close to his side.
Birchtail paused in her walk with Moonriver, ears swiveling toward camp, where she’d heard the yowling. She picked up the moss she’d gathered and mumbled around the plant, “We should probably go see what that’s about.”
Smokestream looked up from the freshkill and blinked pained eyes in the direction of the elder’s den entrance. She looked nervously at Slatefur, not wanting the younger warriors to see how hard it would be for her to get up onto her feet.
Slatefur, recognizing the look, stood between her and the younger cats, blocking her with his larger body. He nudged her to her paws slowly, and it took some time for her to pull herself upright.
Marshpaw continued to dream of a dark forest and murky waters.
Alder’s attention swiveled to Earthstar. He hadn’t heard any murmurings in the clan recently, so he wondered what this meeting was about. Riverclan was starting to feel like the place to be, and he hoped the leader would make a decision on him soon. He quietly padded to the gathered cats, sitting a little on the outskirts of the group.

Sheeppaw, hearing the summons, padded quickly to join the gathering cats. He veered over to where Alder sat a little ways off and plopped down beside him without preamble, feeling a sort of kinship with the fellow former loner.
"Howdy, Alder!" he greeted brightly. "Reckon you don't know what this is all 'bout?"

"Um, yeah. I'll keep that in mind." Blackmask said, turning his head when Earthstar called for a clan meeting. Glancing back at Bubblebrook briefly, he stood up and started towards Reed Rock, wondering what the meeting would be about.
Duskhawk made his way back out of the elder's den and joined the other cats that had gathered already. He chose to sit down next to Brightrock, who had just woken up from his nap and was yawning as he sat down.
Silentpaw and Arcticpaw sat next to each other, both whispering to each other quietly as they waited for everyone to gather.

Iciclestep seemed surprised as well, padding close to Snowflower as he moved to gather at Earthstar's orders. He eyed his clanmates curiously, noticing Koishade and Salmonsplash, while Swanflight seemed to be with Brightrock and Duskhawk. "I'm not sure what this is? Ceremonies, perhaps? We can tell him about the Twoleg after, I suppose."
Ivymask approached the rock, her leg healing well from Alder's impressive treatments. Jaggedfang and Ospreystrike paused their conversation to look up at the leader.
Diamondheart padded over to situate himself at the base of the camp rock, looking up once at Earthstar, before looking out evenly at the rest of the Clan. He knew this meeting would have to be in relation to Reedheart and Nightflame's kits' successful assessments, as well as Songkit, Graykit, and Viperkit reaching 6 moons old. That, and of course Smallkit's introduction into the Clan, the kit nestled with Orchidnight and her litter at the moment.

Minnowtail led her kits out of the nursery with her head held high, pride shining in her eyes.
Songkit and Viperkit were almost tripping over each other as they followed their mother out of the nursery. They’re fur sleek and freshly groomed.
Skystorm snickered as he watched his nieces and nephews tumble out of the nursery, he wished their parents and siblings were there to see the ceremony.
Sproutpaw plopped down beside Tinypool with a purr, “New den mates!”

Petalcreek padded into camp with her two fish, her ear flicking when she heard the tail-end of Earthstar's call for a clan meeting. I wonder what the meeting will be about." she mewed curiously, looking towards the gathered clan.

He watched them, wondering if Graysplash was seeing them from Starclan now. He noticed Graykit, and felt his heart ache. She looked just like he did, when he had began his apprenticeship. Foxripple had become an apprentice with him, and yet he wished that Graysplash had been mentored by anyone else, besides his fox-dunged father. Foxripple focused instead on how brightly he had smiled at the other tom, how much the two of them wanted so badly to start their training. The memory was gone as quickly as it came, leaving a lance of pain through Foxripple that he had to bite his lip against. He had to focus on now, and now, the Clan would have three new apprentices, with a leader and deputy who loved them, and a Clan that was free from evil like Brookclaw. He smiled lightly, winking at Minnowtail and Ripplepath knowingly.

Earthstar's eyes flickered with warmth as he saw the excitement buzzing in the crowd. He never got tired of Clan ceremonies. "Cats of RiverClan, I am happy to share that today, we will welcome new warriors, apprentices, and a kit into the Clan. We will not let this rain, or the Prey Maulers, damper our spirit." he began, looking to Reedheart and Nightflame's kits and then their respective mentors. "Frostbrook, Orchidnight, Blackmask. Are Arcticpaw, Silentpaw, and Crookedpaw ready to become warriors?"
Icepath scanned the crowd for Stormpaw. Her apprentice was getting close to warrior age.
Winterfrost looked intrigued at the mention of the new kit. How would the Clan react to the young outsider?
Salmonsplash and Koishade sat with Troutfang.
Shellstream watched from outside the warrior's den.
Glacierpaw looked at the soon-to-be warriors with admiration. His training with Foxripple was going well; he couldn't imagine how it would feel to be named a warrior by his father.
