"We were wondering if you might like to join us for some battle practice. You haven't met my apprentice yet, have you?" She waved her tail at Littlepaw. "It'll be his first time fighting, so we could use the assist." Snowflower thought on that for a moment before purring, "I can't help but notice you didn't mention your swarm of siblings. I can't say I've spent much time with either Ivymask or Troutfang, but I see how valued they are. You're lucky to be surrounded by greatness. Bodes well for you." “I’m sure we can bring along another apprentice.” Swanflight offered, realizing that Littlepaw would probably need a sparring partner of his own. She looked around, before she brightened as she spotted Mintpaw across camp. “Oh! We can ask Mintpaw!” “My siblings are either the best or worst company you could ask for.” Iciclestep murmured, though it was clear that he cared deeply for them under his sarcastic tone. He felt himself chuckle once, before he admitted. “The reputation can be hard to reach. Though, beyond my kin, it’s you who’s greatness I’d like to be around. After all, Diamondheart chose you for that important mission, not me.” He rumbled, though it was in good nature. Birchtail flicked a tail at the apprentice, inviting her over. Mintpaw had been in training long enough that she’d be a good challenge for her own apprentice. “Are you busy?” Snowflower flushed. “I didn’t really do much. In a battle you would have been chosen just the same. It was strange being in their camp. It’s hard to imagine Thunderclan as just another clan, and not our enemies. But there were apprentices playing and boisterous kits and such a sense of duty in all of them. I’m glad things didn’t escalate.” “And say what you will about your siblings,” she teased, “but Swanflight’s the one who led me here - with some teasing of course.”

Glacierpaw and I helped Bubblebrook collect stones for the camp wall earlier today, but besides that, I’m free! Did you need me for something?” Mintpaw tilted her head curiously. Iciclestep didn’t seem too keen on the thought of seeing Thunderclan in any kind of light other than as a rival or cordial neighbor at best, though it was the genuine tone of Snowflower’s voice that had him rumbling with thought. He flicked his ear, before he scoffed lightly. “Swanflight likes to make everything her business… of course she knew, she always knows. Uhm…” He gave a small cough. “What… exactly did she say, about me?”

*throws very quick starters*) Glacierpaw peered over the side of the stream, attempting to practice his fishing skills. His apprenticeship was coming along well with Foxripple's guidance. Salmonsplash and Shellstream chatted as they shared a fish. Their discussion centered around the odd scent found outside of camp and if Earthstar would return with good news. Winterfrost groomed her fur near the warrior's den. Icepath looked around for cats to go on a hunting patrol with. Koishade sat in a corner of camp, resting her head on her paws as she watched the camp activities. (Gonna post these previous starters. I’m wondering if I should bring back Earthstar to advance the plot)

The senior Warrior looked a bit tired, but he clearly wanted an excuse to patrol with her. “I wouldn’t mind coming along.” Ivymask had noticed her daughter in the corner of camp, and while she knew that Koishade had always been content with her space, she couldn’t help but feel a pull to be near her daughter. She padded towards her, mewing with a hint of a tease. “You know, we should name this corner of camp after you. Funny enough, this used to be my corner of choice when I was your age.”

Icepath gave a smirk to her brother and met his gaze. "I know you'll pull your weight, so of course." She took note of his tired look and made a note to mention it once they left for the patrol. Despite their differences in personality and how they lived in the Clan, she was always willing to support him if he needed someone to talk to.
Koishade looked up at Ivymask and tilted her head slightly. "Really? ...did you use it the same way I do?" she wondered, feeling more open around her mother compared to other cats.

"Really? ...did you use it the same way I do?" she wondered, feeling more open around her mother compared to other cats. “Well, with all the duties we get, pulling the weight becomes second nature.” Brookheart hummed, his calm demeanor expressed in the way his fur was flat against him, and how casually he spoke with his littermate. He took a breath, musing. “Camp duties are far less complex than parenting duties, I’ll admit.” “I used it to brood about my feelings for your father, all the time. I used to think that crushes and feelings were silly, a bit scary at times. I also used to sit here and wait for Nightflame and Reedheart to stop padding around eachother. As if we didn’t all notice.” Ivymask admitted with a roll of her eyes, though she spoke of her former mentor fondly. She padded up to Koishade’s side, sitting down and looking at her. “Are you using it to brood too? Did something happen?”

Icepath twitched her whiskers in amusement. "I'll admit that I don't envy you. Camp duties are enough for me. Though if your kits ever need someone to teach them a certain hunting or fighting move, I can surely take them off your paws." As she spoke, she was reminded of Puddlepaw's punishment in the medicine cat den. She wondered if Brookheart had spoken with him yet.
Koishade's fur bristled slightly at the subject matter, silently hoping her mother hadn't come over to tease her over her lack of a love life. "Oh, um... not particularly. I just like how quiet this spot is, and the view of camp from here. If you listen close, you can hear the stream running." she spoke.

He could have, in that current, and I would have not been able to be there to protect him. I didn’t enjoy having to be stern with him, but he pushes so hard sometimes to do too much all at once… and he hasn’t said a word since, in the medicine den. Yes. I can hear the stream, now that you say it.” She purred, turning towards the water. She looked at Koishade and nodded. “You get it from your father, you know.”

Er, I guess, what I’m saying is… I’m glad she sent you out here, to find me.” He admitted quietly.

(Beep! We could have Nightflame and Puddlepaw interact. He'd be pretty much recovered by now, but would be lingering around the edges of camp or the medicine den. He'll have been in the DF a few nights by now, I'd say.)

Turning to her own apprentice, she said, "Hope you're ready!" and turned to the camp entrance. "I'm happy too," she said warmly. "Oh, but I've eaten up so much of your time. Do you need to head back or would you like to fish together for a little while?"

After a deep breath to settle his nerves, Littlepaw padded after Birchtail. As scary as fighting sounded to the young cat, he was confident that his mentor would make sure he was unharmed.

( mintleaf2 Junospower for both of ya!) Mintpaw turned to look at Littlepaw, her eyes glimmering brightly as she quickly padded to the slightly younger tom's side. Friendly and warm, she asked. "I think this is the first time we've trained together! I guess that's bound to happen, huh? Don't worry, I'll go easy on you!" She teased. Swanflight purred with laughter, glancing at the apprentices before she looked back at Birchtail, nodding to her best friend. "Looks like a good fit! Let's hope that there's no more strange fur on the territory. Last thing we need is to run back to camp all over again like last time." "You haven't eaten any of my time. I... like this." Iciclestep shrugged a bit awkwardly, inwardly desperate to keep her here with him. He nodded quickly. "Let's do some fishing. I can get in the water and spook the fish towards you. They won't like either of our bright pelts, but we can corral them." He offered, wanting to spend time with her while also fulfilling his duties.

Mintpaw purred with humor at his squeak, finding it to be a rather cute response. She knew that he had once been a kittypet, just like her aunt Shimmer was now. After all, her father was out right now with Earthstar to see if she knew anything about the odd fur that Swanflight and Birchtail had found. Focusing back on Littlepaw, she admitted. "You're in good paws! Birchtail has alot of skills, and she's super fun." She glanced at the older she-cat with a bright look, before she nodded to Littlepaw. "We'll have you in top shape in no time! Stonegaze says that I'm doing really well so far." She preened proudly.

Moonblazer Littlepaw purred back in amusement, feeling his worries melt away. “Birchtail has taught me so much already. You should have seen me after my first swimming lesson! I’m just glad the clan’s accepted me so far.” "Earthstar has a generous heart. He always has, according to my father, and Diamondheart!" Mintpaw purred. While not related by blood, Riverclan's deputy had grown up alongside her father, and the two were as close as brothers, keeping eachother safe during the dark days of Adderclan. She looked at Littlepaw and hummed thoughtfully. "You know, if you want a cat to talk to about joining the Clan when you weren't born here, Owlwhisker used to be a loner. He's already had a few apprentices too, so he's done super well, and I bet he'll have some good advice too." She offered, wanting Littlepaw to feel like he wasn't alone.

We promised we’d never be like them, and I think we’ve upheld that promise. Don’t let grounding the rash apprentice get to you.” Koishade sniffed slightly and flicked her ear. “My father? The ground grew a little softer underfoot, perfect for practice. She just hoped no one would get hurt together. Though, seeing how kind Mintpaw was being, she doubted she had much reason to worry. She turned to face Littlepaw and the others and cleared her throat. This was the first time she'd do any mentoring in front of her clanmates, and she couldn't help but feel a little pressure. "Alright, let's start by seeing where you're currently at. Claws away and no hard biting, we don't want to hurt our clanmates." Amusement flooded her. "Let's leave that for the other clans. Littlepaw, why don't you try attacking Mintpaw? I'd love to see how you think through a fight. And Mintpaw, this is a good opportunity to practice defensive tactics. You never know what an enemy will throw at you, so keeping a flexible set of moves is good to keep fresh."

His snowy fur spread like a cloud for a moment, before it flattened with water. He waded into the deeper water, circling around and eyeing carefully at the stones near his paws. He slowly padded towards Snowflower, corralling a few small fish towards the waiting she-cat.

"Nightflame's reputation may be influencing him. Is it possible he fears disappointing her, and so he goes too far to prove himself?" she offered, resting the tip of her tail on his shoulder. "She may be a tough mentor, but I don't think she teaches with fear. I think you could try talking to him again, now that's he's had some time to heal and reflect." "That makes sense," Koishade mewed in response, figuring that was a trait she got from her father. She found the sound of the stream and the whisper of reeds blowing in the wind calming as well.
