James listened quietly to her explaination and then nodded. "Understood, but I'd suggest not taking to long. My crew gets together rather fast. Unless they've already found the tavern. Then we'll be here for a long while." He said with a chuckle. James moved around her and took a few steps down the stairs, but then turned around. This time his face completely serious. "I'll give warning now. If he's taken as a prisoner, pretend or no, he'll be created as such by my crew. I'm sure he could handle it, but it's not a joyful buisness." His face was gravely serious as he turned away and quickly jogged down the stairs, leaping gayly over the mounds of rubbage. He stopped at the door and bowed dramatically. "Til we meet again." James called to them both, though it was directed more towards Grace, his mood shifting suddenly back from his seriousness a moment ago.
(Thanks! xD)

( Okay cx )
After quickly sorting somethings out with Philippe such as what they were going to do about the disaster that was his home and having him clean up a little a little as well. Grace led the way back down to harbor where the ship was. The only thing the boy was bringing with him besides the clothes on his body was a sword which was on Grace so it was pretty well hidden underneath her cloak. Quickly they made their way over to the ship, Grace quickly boarded to locate James but she left Philippe on the harbor a little ways away. Having decided no matter how funny it might be it wasn't fair to have him be a prisoner but that left sorting out what to do with him until they would reach France hopefully before dusk.

James stood at the wheel of his ship, talking with Berlin about the weather patterns. "If we go east 90 degrees, then make a small half circle, we can avoid the harder currents." Berlin was saying, pointing along the map as he spoke. James shook his head with a small frown, "But that will gain us at least another hour. We need to get there as fast as possible." He said with a frown, then his eyes lit with an idea. "What if we stay to the west? We'll have to go through a small section of rough curents, but if we have all the men below pushing the oars, we could make it through easily. It would be hard work, but making it through that small patch of rough water could cut our time in half." James proposed, tracing the route on the map. Berlin sighed, "It's your decision Captain, but I suggest we look at the boat first. If there are any weak spots in the wood or even a few rotted oars, we won't make it through the currents." James nodded at the man, "Go do it then." He ordered dissmissively, then quickly folded up the map and chart. He spotted Grace and whistled sharply at her, raising a hand to get her attention.

Grace quietly looked around until she heard the whistle, rolling her eyes before quickly walking over to James. "So have you managed to sort out a course or still working on that?" She asked curiously, seeing as this was her idea helping out was the least she could do. Glancing around to see what all was going on with the crew. "And Philippe is coming along if that is alright," She added before lowering her voice. "I've decided that it probably wouldn't be fair to have him be a prisoner even though it would be entertaining. So I'm not entirely sure what to do with him, I just don't want anyone messing with him." Grace needed some help to figure out what to do with the boy that wouldn't raise too many eyebrows.
( He's so serious these last few posts cx haven't seen this in a while. )

James stuffed the papers in his belt. "We've got a course set, depending on the shape of the boat. If the boat isn't in shape for it, then we've got another course set up." He answered her steadily. His face changed to a small frown as she said Philippe would be coming. Then again he should've expected it, the boy did seem important. James nodded and looked toward the harbor, squinting and wondering where the boy was. He didn't figure on Grace bringing him board now. He looked back to Grace and nodded, releasing a small sign and dragging his hand over his mouth in thought. "He could come as a newly hired hand. There aren't many positions open and he'd need one with the smallest amount of interaction with my crew, if he's to be left alone." James said outloud in a rather thoughtful tone.
(I know right! xD little James is growing up, don't worry, the old James will be back soon enough xD)

Grace nodded thoughtfully, that sounded good to her. The sooner they were in France the better since Philippe didn't seem to have the answers she was looking for. "Would that work though since he's likely to stay back in France, he doesn't have to be isolated but I don't want people asking him too many questions." She questioned. Hopefully the crew wouldn't take this as too mysterious since they already seemed to have plenty of problems with her telling them what to do.

James frowned, that would be a problem. He sighed and glanced about the boat. The crew was already suspicious of the female passenger, and the fact the James was going places she wanted. It was difficult to explain to them the situation and they trusted their captain it was just the woman he was working with that they had problems with. James rubbed the back of his neck, “He could come as a guide. Can he speak French?” He said, looking at her with an arched eyebrow.
(He’s gotta take care of his big boy problems XD It just cracks me up how quickly he can go from serious to completely goofy again xD)

To Grace that was actually a good idea, why hadn't she thought of that? "Yes, he actually speaks English, Latin, Jèrriais, a bit of Irish and is perfectly fluent in French. So that would work perfectly." She replied while nodding, Philippe's mother was French and he claimed to be French so it was the perfect fit. "So is that what we are going to say he is? Because even if that doesn't work we can still throw him at Romani over there if we get bored."
( You know what, they both seem to do that cx one second they could be joking around and the next they area all stern. )

James nodded, he was quite for a moment. And then the playful gleam seemed to seep back into his eyes. "You know if we wanted entertainment, we could put him in a nice little dress. My crew could use an entertainer and I could use some amusement." James grinned and then winked, "Do you know if he can dance?" He asked with a deep chuckle.
(They really do xD they must get it from each other. Character development, yay! xD Most of the roleplays I'm in don't stay alive long enough for my character to develop. But James has changed. Being around Grace has made him learn to keep his temper in check and he's a bit more serious then usual. xD yay for character development!)

Grace couldn't help but grin right back when he seemed to be easing up. "He'd say no but I know for a fact that he can, his parents have a nice status so as such he and his siblings were forced to learn how to dance perfectly." She replied. Her own crew had a thing for entertaining themselves, they'd all get together one night and sing, dance, play small instruments they owned and sometimes have a nice drink of Spanish wine. "Would you like to come with me to get him even though he is on the harbor?" She asked softly.
( I'm not sure that Grace has changed all that much but pretty much everything is character development around now. In most roleplays I manage to develop my characters to where I start looking forward to the RP a lot more then everyone leaves x.x You had scared me for a little while there when you started to disappear a lot because I've been looking forward to this cx )

James laughed, "He doesn't have much of a choice on his job. But I think I'll save him the torture. He'll be a French guide." James said with a small nod as though finalizing his answer. James looked at her and raised an eyebrow, "I'd be delighted my lady." He gave an exaggerated bow, "I'll gladly be your escort." He teased, starting toward the ramp, not waiting for her, even though he'd need her direction to figure out where Philippe was waiting.
(I hate it when everyone leaves. Although in most of my roleplays they leave when nothing is happening and they just don't feel like creating their own small plots to develop relationships or develop their characters. Yea, I get poofy sometimes, sorry about that. But I definitely like this roleplay so I'll be coming back xD)

Grace rolled her eyes and suppressed her desire to lightly punch James in response to the bow. Huffing in amusement before quickly following him. "Don't get lost. She advised in amusement while heading down the ramp. Philippe wasn't that far away but she didn't see him where he had been left.
Philippe was checking out one of the other ships at the harbor, he knew the owner of it and they were in the middle of discussing some damaged that had been caused to the hull in French. The ship looked like it had gotten a cannonball shot at it but apparently that wasn't the story he was getting. Hearing the sound of someone approaching he looked to see who it was. Bidding the other man farewell before walking over to Grace. "So what am I doing?" He asked curiously.
( Dude I know the feeling, recently one of the group roleplays I'm part of closed or joining because it is a really old rp and the new members left or didn't understand the history cx And the rest of us are all kinds of into plots and subplots. Okay sweet cx )

"Me lost? Never!" He replied pompusly. But he slowed down to walk beside her. His gaze moved around the harbor, searching for the boy. Obviously, he missied him and turned in surprise as the boy spoke. The question seemed directed foward Grace, but James answered anyway. "You'll be a french guide. To avoid even more questions, pretend you speak little English." James said formally.
(XD yea, that stinks)

Philippe grinned once given his instructions. "Ah, of course." He replied in a heavily French accent, learning to mimic other accents was both something that Grace had her men learn to do for safety purposes, and something he was really good at doing. Also French was easy because it is his mother's accent but that was just details. He also made a comment in Irish about 'no English'.
Grace had opened her mouth to respond only to have James speak first. Then rolled her eyes with a smirk. "To make it even more believable pretend like you speak mostly French, none of the other languages." She added, getting a loud exaggerated sigh from the boy. "And until we get to France, you listen to James. Not me or anyone else." She instructed. "Now we should probably get going." And with that she began walking back to the Bloody Mary.
( Should we maybe skip to when they get to France or no? cx )

(Sure xD)
James felt the boat jerk underneath him and someone shouted down on the deck. Getting up from his chair, he pulled open the door of his quarters and jumped over the rail instead of taking the stairs. He hit the deck rather ungracefully, but he didn’t fall. Or hurt himself either. Striding forward he quickly moved to a jog and stopped at the front of the ship. There was France right in front of him; the harbor must’ve been what they hit. Their entrance was always a bit sloppy.

Grace had moved back to her secluded room to think, leaving Philippe all alone with the crew. Feeling the boat jerk and suddenly hearing James take off out of his quarters she quickly stood and looked out the single window in the room. A massive grin spread across her face when she saw the beautiful lights of France just as the sun finished setting. That was perfect timing. Grabbing her swords in their scabbard and putting them on her belt before throwing on her cloak. Quietly leaving the room and closing all the doors so she could get a better look and locate Philippe.

James glanced around for Grace, but didn’t spot her. He figured she would come find him eventually, so he turned back to his crew. “Right then! Put the anchor down! Tie us up tight! We don’t want to be drifting out of harbor!” He shouted, cupping his hands over his mouth so his voice stretched further. The crew scurried about their duties and James stood back to watch, making sure everything was in order. He was a wanted man in France, as he was everywhere for being a pirate, but he didn’t want anyone noticing his boat. That’s mostly why they’d come at a later hour and why he’d chosen a harbor not so close to the watch towers.

Grace could hear James shouting and looking around, easily finding him but instead of quickly walking over she took her time as she watched the crew and tried to find the boy. She happened to have fairly good relations with France but that was because they had no idea that she had sunk some of their ships and stole from many of their cities, it was better that way. "You are just hanging back here?" The ginger called out once she was closer to James. Noticing that he was staying off to the side.
Within seconds Philippe appeared, rapidly speaking French with words for other languages mixed in every here and there so Grace could understand him. The boy seemed excited to be in France, which he had many good reasons for. Unlike a good fair share of pirates he was actually respected in France and England because of his family, also because no one knew what he did.

James looked up at Grace spoke up. He looked around, then spotting her he rolled his eyes. “Just waiting for someone to polish my shoes and lay down their coat over that puddle so I don’t walk in it.” He replied sarcastically, gesturing to a small puddle a few feet away from him. James arched an eyebrow as Philippe approached, rapidly speaking in different languages. “You understand that boy?” He asked with a bit of surprise, looking back at Grace.

Grace raised an eyebrow at the puddle, someone needed to clean it up. "I could shove you into it if that works." She suggested with a small smirk. Squinting as she looked over at the dark city as people began blowing out lamps and candles. Who even goes bed at this hour? Silently she listened to Philippe for a moment. "Sort of, I don't speak French but he's throwing in words from other languages I do speak." Grace explained quietly, frowning at whatever the boy was saying before quietly responding to him in Irish, getting a glare in return as he clearly didn't like what she said. "So are going to come along again?" She asked James, wanting to find out so she could go. "If not I'll probably be back before dawn." That was if she got the answers she was looking for.

James chuckled and rolled his eyes. He listened casually, though he understood none of their Irish conversation. When Grace finally addressed him again, he grinned, “Well, I’d like to come along if I’m not a problem. And, well I’ll come along even if I am.” He said proudly, straightening and motioning for them to lead the way.

"You won't be a problem unless you make yourself one." Grace assured, noting his motion before quickly leading the way off the ship. Not even slowing down upon reaching the harbor, glancing back to be sure they were coming. She knew the town but locating Fell was a totally different story.
Philippe easy kept up with the chief, still talking in the odd mixture of languages until out of hearing range of the ship. "I don't want to be the one to find Fell! He has a odd way of greeting people and I don't like it, plus he has Navya with him so yeah." He expressed uneasily.
Grace shook her head at the boy, she agreed with him but would never make it verbal. Although she was excited to be finding the pair who were around here somewhere. "Then be glad you don't have to, but you are still coming along and going to help find him since you speak French." She clarified bluntly. While talking she moved her scabbard so it would be easy to access.

James nodded and followed along behind her. He trailed back a little to let Grace and Philippe have their conversation. Some of it he didn’t even understand, but what he did, might as well have been in a different language. Navya, Fell, they all might as well have been some old Irish term.

The boy seemed to be satisfied with the answer given to him as they walked along deeper into the city. Grace's pace seemed to speed up as they walked along, after a couple minutes of speed walking she came to halt when spotting some Romani children playing in an alleyway. "Philippe," She said quietly to get his attention. Removing her signet ring and pulling out a couple small coins, holding them out to the boy. "Go talk to them." She instructed quietly. He would know what to do.
Philippe groaned quietly before talking the ring and coins, but this was the easiest way to locate who they were looking for so he wasn't going to say anything. Cautiously walking over so he wouldn't be attacked by some adult Romani that had noticed him. Quickly he began speaking in French, managing to strike up a friendly conversation before giving the items to a couple of the children, with the adults supervising. Watching as the children excitedly ran off down the alleyway before returning to Grace and James. "Alright, now we just keep walking." He replied, getting a nod from Grace as she started walking in the direction of a less populated area.

James was genuinely confused at this point. He'd never had run ins with Romani, or seen many of them for that matter. He watched curiously as Philippe walked over and had an exchange with the children, wishig now that he'd learnt some Frech so he could understand. When Philippe walked back to them and said to keep walking he was confused even further. If they kept walking, why did they bother with the kids? But he followed along obediantly, frowing at his lack of knowledge.

Grace kept leading them on for a couple minutes before she stopped, holding a hand up to motion for them to stop and be quiet. Listening carefully for a couple moments before what sounded like feet lighting running across the top of the buildings around them. A small smirk crossed her face as a dark form suddenly dropped down from a roof and stood about 20 feet away from them.
The person who had just appeared was obviously a Romani from what could be seen in the darkness, and had an amused, masculine voice which carried a French accent that didn't fit as the common accent of the area. "Nav! Look, do you see what I found?" He called out just as another figure dropped down behind the group.
"Yes Fell, I can see what you found." The figure-a woman- replied teasingly in a incredibly thick, non European accent. A flowing cloak paired with the darkness obscured her body from being seen. But in her hand was a long wooden staff that harmless for the most part.
Philippe was not please by how pair appeared, huffing loudly before saying something in French to the pair and getting a couple quick replies. "I hate how these two greet people." He muttered, unfortunately the woman behind him heard and started laughing at the boy. "Do not worry Philippe, we do not like greeting you either." She assured, which only made the boy groan and mumble something in French.
