Leafheart's intelligence check is also 3, but I have an animal lore knack. Will that do anything?

Well then...
Fernwhisker realises nobody else seems to have smelt this thing, so he tries to work it out. He concentrates extremely hard- this quest, whatever it's about, has been going on for so long that he adamantly refuses to let it stop now because of some dumb feverfew!
(Ponder 2 + Intelligence 3 + Chips 2 = 7)
(I know I said I was counting earlier, but I'm not promising that I counted correctly because I'm a bit daft like that. If I accidentally took off too many chips then it serves me right anyway!)

daisy: Only if it's the x2 version, since it's triggered by spending an intelligence chip; regular Animal Lore gives 1 bonus point, but x2 gives 2 bonus points. smiley: With all the focus he can muster, Fernwhisker detects the smell of a badger. With his extra knowledge, he remembers this: Badgers are smart, tough creatures. They are very protective of their territory- especially their dens. They dislike combat, but if provoked, they will only stop when their foe is dead. If you see one, do not act aggressive. Stand your ground and try to show that you are not an enemy, but don't appear afraid. If the badger senses fear or danger, it will attack.As if on cue, a black and white creature waddles out from between the tree roots with a snort. Its long, sharp claws grip the ground as it climbs out of its burrow. It stares directly at the group, waiting to see what the newcomers would do.

Icefeather nodded and focused on the fact that the badger was kind of cute, if it weren't for its giant claws. She hoped that helped her not look so scared.

It seems that, since the group is uneasy, it would be best to draw attention to a leader. That way, only one cat can be noticed while covering up the others' nervousness. The Strength-based Arch Check needed for the leader will be 8, but for each Focus Check of 5 the other cats make, the leader gets an extra point.

Makes you wonder what StarClan were thinking when they chose the cats on this quest.

Everyone seems to have the attention span of a gnat.
There is still hope for focus, though! Maybe. Possibly. Somehow. Let's just see if anyone else can focus, or at least step up to face the badger.

It all falls to Al now. The barn cat. The golden tabby steps forward... and promptly yowls in surprise when the badger snarls. Looks like a fight is inevitable now. And it isn't going to be easy.

The badger snarls and towers over the cats. The group is scared, but the adrenaline makes their spirits strong!
All chips refreshed, except those taken as damage!
The badger swipes at poor Leafheart, with a Swat Check of 7. Score a higher Jump Check to evade!

Icefeather spotted Leafheart getting shredded by a badger. She immediately sprang into action, quickly dumping herself a bowl of popcorn and grabbing her lawn chair to sit back and enjoy the show.

Agent Coulson Leafheart, with 2 strength, is pulverized by the badger and was glad her death gave her comrades entertainment. Her only regret is that she didn't get to have any of that sweet buttery movie popcorn.
