Evaleigh nodded “Yes, just the one.” Her face seemed confused at the question as well. Was it weird to only have one bag? It seemed so. She brushed her bangs out of her eyes but they immediately fell back into place when she looked down at her stuff. Just a young girl, a dog, and a beat up suitcase, yeah they probably looked like a traveling circus. “I was umm.. not traveling far. Don’t need that much stuff.” She explained, looking back up with a smile, not really having a backstory prepared and committed to something vague instead. Evaleigh would come up with the details later. Her hands were clammy though from thinking fast. Lying and trying to act casual when everything was not, was more difficult than she had imagined. Usually she was pretty good at that stuff, faking people out and all, her parents had given her plenty of practice. Back then she was not so afraid of getting caught though, there would have been reprimands, yes, but getting sent back home after this stunt would be so much worse.

Her nervousness was not lost on her, but Emma figured that it wasn't a place for her to ask about. At least not yet. Still, she couldn't help but feel that something was wrong with her whole explanation. She would talk with Mathias about it later. Until then she lead Evaleigh up to the second floor where the bedrooms were.
There was a short hallway that the staircase lead them to, on each side there were two sets of doors, with one more at the very end of the hallway. Emma led their guest to the last door in the left. "Here you go," she said opening the door. The room inside was spacious with three twin sized beds lining the walls. Each one had a dresser next to it. "No one is using this room, so just make yourself at home."
"Then why don't you tell me?" The words were said before she even fully knew what was happening. However, Anya didn't really wish to take them back. If all that was keeping Seth from believing she didn't resent him for the things he's done was just because she didn't know, then the only way to fix that was for her to know everything. She plated the bacon and the omelets, turned off the know boiled water, and turned so she could face him and wait for an answer.

Evaleigh followed behind Emma, suitcase, and leash in hand. She observed each door and wondered what was behind each before coming to the last one on the left. She peered in before walking over to the closest bed and plopping down the suitcase on it, then herself. Beau followed in pursuit, climbing onto the bed and laying across it, ears perked, looking from Evaleigh to Emma. A happy tongue lolling out of his mouth. “Thank you.” She said running her hand through her dog’s hair and looking back up at Emma. “Do they need the keys to my car? They can move it if they need to.” Evaleigh fished the key out of her back pocket. There was no keyring or cute accessories since it was the spare she stole from a locked key drawer in her house.

“Yeah, it should be unlocked, but you never know.” She shrugged and handed the key over to Emma “Oh? A movie room. Hmm. I did not expect that.” Evaleigh stated. That could be enteraining for a bit. “I’m gonna stay here for a few moments though.” She thought she better check her phone again, maybe listen to any voicemails left by her parents. The room gave her more privacy to do that. “Maybe I’ll come down in a little bit.”

“Okay, I’ll be down in a bit then.” She said with a smile before closing the door behind Emma. Evaleigh flipped out her phone from her back pocket. Low and behold there for at least 20 more missed calls than when she had looked previously while eating breakfast. Out of all of those calls, there were only two voicemails. “Shall we give them a listen?” Evaleigh asked Beau, who was still lying lazily on the bed. He gave no answer. She clicked on the first voicemail, keeping the volume low to make sure it wouldn't be heard from outside the room. It was her mom, she sounded upset and worried and strangely apologetic. It was nothing more than her blubbering though. The second voicemail was more formal, her dad left it. He made threats and claimed that she was not old enough. Not capable of being on her own. Dad was always the harder one on her. “This is stupid.” Evaleigh ended the message before listening to the whole thing. She was frustrated with her parents, they always doubted her but never understood what she was capable of. Evaleigh powered off her phone and tucked it under the pillow of the bed she was sitting on. “Guess it’s time to do something else.” she sighed. Evaleigh stood up and exited the room, leaving the door open as Beau followed behind, this time without his leash. She was light-footed, walking down the hallway and down the stairwell.

Emma walked down the hall a bit to go check on the other women of the household. Her first stop was to check in on Amelia. The poor dear was in bed, but awake and able to answer the concerned questions sent her way. The pregnancy was going as smoothly as one would hope, but the morning sickness was certainly making up the most of the hardships. Emma could remember her own days as a mother to be, and she offered what little she could to try and make the other woman as comfortable as she could. Next she went to see if Tris was finally awake. As one of the more tempered of their Pack, everyone more or less kept their distance from her in the mornings. Only Mathias and herself dared to wake the woman up early, and even then they did so sparingly. Luckily, Tris was up and changing, and promised to be done in a bit. Satisfied, Emma returned to the kitchen to see if Keryn had finished the dishes and to start on other chores.
Stitch, however, had retired to the living room with his second cup of coffee in his hands. He was an early riser, but he didn't particularly enjoy early mornings starting with a scare of an injured Packmate. He had been pacing the floor, double checking equipment, and cursing Dallas for his foolishness. Now that he was home and well, he could let that tension leave, and the best way to do that was to drink his poison of choice: coffee.

Evaleigh reached the end of the stairs with Beau right on her heels. She saw Keryn and Emma occupying the kitchen, but they seemed busy, so she didn't want to bother them. Instead she found Stitch in the living room, sipping a coffee. She sat herself in what looked to be a comfortable chair, letting out a sigh as she sank into the cushions. Beau continued to wander around the room and sniffed things, including Stitch. The dogs breed was known for herding and Beau was quite curious about the new environment he was in. He usually treated Evaleigh like his livestock and would sometimes get pushy with his nose if he wanted her somewhere. Other than that, the dog was pretty aloof, he really enjoyed sleeping and was spoiled back at home to enjoy the comfort of furniture. Evaleigh watched Beau for a moment, she trusted the dog but knew him well enough to expect something onery out of him. She turned attention over to Stitch after a moment of silence. "So," Evaleigh paused "Are you really a doctor? Like a human doctor?" She asked an eyebrow raised as she looked over at Stitch.

Stitch didn't mind that Evaleigh and her dog had wandered down to join him in the living room. He didn't expect them to hole up in their temporary room. When the dog came around to sniff him, he reached out a hand and offered it a scratch behind the ears. He hadn't said a word until Evaleigh broke the silence. He chuckled. "Yes, I am a human doctor," he told her, turning his gaze towards her. "Military trained, remember? And, yes, I'm licensed, just in case you wonder why I have so many medical supplies stashed away here when you eventually go see Dallas."

“Oh, right.” Evaleigh nodded her head and paused, then spoke again, scrunching her face a little “Then why do you talk like that?” another pause before she elaborated “I heard the bantering between you and Dallas earlier when you were dealing with him. I don’t know, I thought maybe you were a veterinarian from all the dog lingo.” Evaleigh studied Stitch's face for a reaction and an explanation “I’ve seen vet's sew up a person in movies so maybe it wasn't such an absurd idea.” She chuckled, mostly talking to herself, reasoning that she wasn't crazy for thinking that. She adjusted in the seat, not directly looking at Stitch now. She had wondered earlier if Dallas had lied about his friend actually being a doctor, but it sounded like he checks out, not that it mattered anymore. You probably did not have to be involved in a specific part of the medical field to be able to clean and sew up a wound, especially with a military background.

Internally, Stitch cursed himself for being careless with the volume of his face at that time, but outwardly, he chuckled. "I have preformed medical care for animals before," he admitted. "Nothing anything major. Broken bones, foreign objects that needed removing either by eating or getting jabbed into them or stepped on, that sort of thing. So, yes, he was making more noise than some of the dogs I've worked on, but part of it is because we like to fondly refer to Dallas as our newest little stray pup. The runt of the litter, what with him being the youngest. It's more joke than anything, and he knows we don't do it out of harm."

Evaleigh listened to Stitch’s explanation with a blank face. The face her mother would use to make sure the speaker couldn’t tell what she was thinking. “Seems reasonable.” She finally said “Also, that's a cute nickname.” she commented with a laugh at them calling Dallas a stray pup. She wouldn’t be able to say if the boy looked puppy doggish or not. Although she had an opportunity to look clearly at Dallas' face, his appearance had been rough. “Pieni pentu. The little puppy” she muttered first in Finnish and then in the English translation. She remembered learning the phrase when she had first gotten Beau as a puppy. Her dad had taught that to her. Evaleigh wouldn’t say she could speak Finnish, she was just familiar with a few phrases and common sayings. “I feel like everyone has a story here. I am curious, but I won’t ask” Evaleigh breathed with a sigh. So far, no one had really asked her too much, so she would respect that. “When do you think I would be able to speak with Dallas?” She asked. Evaleigh knew she had till tomorrow but still, she wanted to see how the guy was doing. She felt like she should have done more for him in the moment but her brain failed her on that.

Lawrence listened to the speech calmly until he finished. "As you said, you are not one of us," he started. "By that logic, I am under no obligations to harbor you or your family. I have every right to turn you out into the world and let whatever ill fate befall you. I have no obligations to handle this matter and give your sister any sort of justice. I have no reason to hold one of my best spies under lockdown and face possible punishment for his actions you have claimed. But I do have the right to have you thrown into prison for intruding in this camp and attacking our members, all under the charge that you could possibly be sent here by Genevieve. You would never see the light of day again."
The man leaned forward, elbows on his desk and hands clasped in front of him as he held the younger man's gaze. "But I am. I am not a man who lets offenses made by my people go unnoticed. While they are a rough lot, I do not let them run lawlessly about. Even so, there is only so much that I can do on my own. This camp may have 'secure borders,' as you put it, but you are highly misunderstanding what that means. We are secured from the threat of being ambushed by soldiers and Riders wishing to kill us. We are secure from average citizen wandering by from discovering our camp and then going and spreading gossip of what they saw to prying ears. That is how we are secure. You're sister's chances of being assaulted here is no higher than it was back in Ilera, a fact I'm sure you're aware of but are too worked up over everything else to want to admit. You're looking for a person to blame, and you found it in me. Fine, I'll take it, but if you so wish to have this matter resolved in favor of your sister, than I suggest you listen to my orders and do what you're told. Ask anyone here, and they will testify I am not biased. I've put many good men of mine in the holding cells for offenses proven against them. This one will be no different, if you can learn your place. I am already extending you more courtesy towards you than I am entitled to give, so I think you need to rethink your stance on the matter before saying anything further. For it may affect your sister far more than it will affect me." Callum narrowed his eyes and opened his mouth, an angry argument no doubt on the tip of his tongue —
Morgan smacked the back of his head before he could utter a word.
Callum spun around, eyes sparking furiously. Morgan just looked at him, deadpan. "Stop being an ass. You may be a badass in a one-on-one fight, but you're solely outnumbered in this fight. You said you wanted to be here when Lawrence spoke to Cami. You said nothing about acting like her lawyer. So be quiet, would you?"
Callum growled at him, but Cami stepped around them and faced Lawrence. "Hello, sir. I apologize for my brother. He's overprotective and not great with using words to express his feelings, so you can just ignore him. What would you like to speak to me about? Er, wait. I guess I know the answer to that. Um..." She bit her lip, unsure how to proceed.

At least Morgan was learning quickly. Lawrence said nothing as the Rider ended the argument with Callum for him. He could understand the younger man's longing to stay by his sister in this matter, but at the same time, he couldn't let an outside third party get involved and influence the facts of what truly happened. With that thought, he turned his attention to Cami, his expression softening.
"Please, take a seat," he told her, gesturing to one of the seats. "I apologize for the gruffness, but I don't get along with asses."He sent a pointed look in Callum's direction before continuing. "I am also sorry that you're here in the first place. I wish I could have prevented it, but it is near impossible for me to keep tabs on everyone all the time. Now, I know this is a difficult topic to discuss, but I need to know from your what all happened. I will not press for details you are not comfortable giving, but the more details you can supply, the better your case will be. How about you start with how you meet Andy, and then go from there." The spy master took up a pen and grabbed a fresh sheet of paper to jot down her words, then waited for her to speak.
~*~*~
Anya set the last of the dishes on the table before turning to face him. "I'm never going to hate you, Seth," She told him. "I'm not going to force you to tell me, but I am here. I've seen you in one of your jobs. Yes, I was shocked and I don't like it, but I know that it wasn't your choice. Genevieve forced you to do those things. I can't hate you when you chose the safety of your family before your own reputation."

Evaleigh sighed, an hour seemed like forever at the moment. She twisted around in the chair again so she was laying sideways, legs draped over one arm rest, head resting on the other. “Okay, I just want to check in with him is all.” Evaleigh stated, glancing around the room, watching her dog again. Beau had finished scouting out the room and returned to Evaleigh’s side, sticking his nose in her face before laying beside the chair. Evaleigh didn’t mind the rude intrusion of personal space from her dog, it was something he did often and eventually you get use to it.

Evaleigh had accidentally fallen asleep in the chair, a silence had grown between her and Stitch and allowed her mind to wander. The stress of her thoughts only gave her a headache so the girl had closed her eyes for pain relief. Next thing you know, she was out like a light…
About 2 hours had passed by now, Evaleigh was awoken but she wasn’t sure by what. She rubbed her eyes with her hands, thankful that she had not had the time to put makeup on, or it would have been smudged. Her mind felt foggy as she looked down at the floor to see Beau, who had also fallen asleep and still remained in that state. She scanned the room, at first confused at the layout, before remembering where she was at. “Oh, yeah.” Evaleigh looked over at the clock to see the time and noted how much had gone by. She rubbed her neck, which now had a crick in it from sleeping in the chair as she had. She stood up, like an old woman at first, then stretched her arms up in the air, letting out a little savory groan. She looked around, remembering she was going to speak with Dallas, and possibly wrangle an appreciation speech out of him.

Stitch had noticed the moment when the girl fell asleep. He could hear the change in her breathing. How she could fall asleep in that chair was a mystery, but he wasn't going to bother her just to offer a better napping place. So, carefully, he stood and silently made his way to the kitchen. He informed Emma that Evaleigh was resting before making his way to check on Dallas. When he was sure that their youngest Pack member was still doing fine, he went off to do other things he needed to take care of.
Emma, not wanting to be too far away in case their guest needing anything, was still in the kitchen, working on little odd and end chores and baking projects. Their crew went through a lot to eat, so she was always making something for them to snack on. When she heard the groan, she peeked her head around the doorway to see Evaleigh was awake. "Well, that sounded like someone who has had a good nap," she commented with a smile.

The Comet was in sight when Sol was waylaid by a familiar voice calling his name. He had a moment to be amused when both dogs and Fury responded to hearing his name faster than he did. Artemis's ears went up, Apollo turned around, and Fury screeched. Sol leaned his head away from her, but of course it was much too late. His ears were ringing from the high pitched sound. "Thank you, Fury." She poofed out her feathers and just looked angry. But then, she usually did.
With a shake of his head, Sol made his way over to the man who had called him. Ezra Burke was a local fisherman and a retired naval officer. He was the man who had helped Sol's father rise through the ranks to Admiral, even though Burke was older and, to many, the better choice for the position. But Burke had never been particularly comfortable in a leadership position, though there was no denying he was a natural at it when he didn't think too hard about it. Sol tried to visit the man whenever he could, but Kuasta was not a common stop for the Comet, and even when they did make port there, there was no guarantee he would find Burke. The old sailor liked to spend long periods out at sea, just like Sol, only he no longer traveled very far. Just a couple miles up or down the coast was enough for him.
When Sol reached the berth where Burke's ship, My Fair Lady, was docked, he didn't bother with pleasantries. He took one look at what Burke was doing and simply hopped aboard to help. The two men worked in companionable silence, and before long everything was done.
Sol stepped back and wiped his hands. "Hello, Burke," he said with a smile. "Long time no see."
Burke took his time answering, distracted and entertained by his efforts to scratch Apollo's belly without getting scratched by the dog's involuntarily kicking back paw. "It sure has. What is it now, two years? Three?"
"Something like that." Fury returned to his shoulder and ruffled her feathers grumpily. She had been evicted from his shoulder when he started working, and she disliked it when anyone but her told her to move.
Burke tilted his head. "Is that the nice one or the mean one?"
Sol chuckled. "The mean one. So how have you been, Burke?" Sol and Burke made small talk for a good while. Sol enjoyed catching up with an old friend who shared many of his interests. It made conversation effortless, easy.
So it was a bit of a shock when Burke suddenly ruined the mood with a grunt and a warning: “Storm’s coming. A bad one.”
Sol’s head snapped up. “What?”
Instead of answering, Burke just pointed toward the horizon. There was nothing but blue skies and calm waters, and yet… Sol could feel it. A shift in the wind, a charge in the air. Burke was right. A storm was coming, and it would put the last one to shame.
Sol uttered a few foul curses.
Burke arched one brow at him. “I take it the delay isn’t welcome?”
“No, it is not,” Sol growled. He glared at the horizon, weighing his options. There weren’t many. A storm like this could keep them pinned at port for days, weeks even. Sol hated being stuck in port on a good day. Not to mention he still had half a dozen people to get home. Plus… No. This was so not a good time for a storm.
Sol whistled for his dogs. “Sorry, Burke. I have to go.”
The older man’s eyes widened. “You aren’t thinking of leaving?”
“Not just thinking. I am leaving.” Sol jumped from the ship onto the dock and turned to face his old friend. “If any ship can stay ahead of that storm, it’s the Comet.”
Burke slowly shook his head. “You’re playing with fire, boy. And that’s dangerous on a ship.”
Sol waved him off. “We’ll be fine. It was great seeing you again. Hopefully next time won’t have such a long gap.”
Burke gave no response as Sol turned and strode with purpose for his ship.
~ • ~ • ~ Seth let out a shaky breath and closed his eyes. “I didn’t choose it,” he agreed quietly. Slowly, he turned around and met her gaze, the self-loathing in his eyes completely unmasked. “But that didn’t stop me from enjoying it.”
And there it was. The root of his self-hate, the core of his darkness. He had not enjoyed every mission, true, but sometimes… sometimes he had, and that was bad enough. No matter what he did, no matter how good he tried to be, there was a part of him that was undoubtedly Genevieve’s son. And he would never forgive himself for giving in to that part of him.
~ • ~ • ~ (Okay, if this contradicts anything I’ve said before, I apologize. I was too lazy to go back and search for what I wrote about it before. xD )
Cami cautiously came forward and sat. She clasped her hands in her lap and stared down at them, her hair falling forward to form a curtain, shielding her from his gaze. She stayed like that for only a minute before drawing in a deep breath and looking up to meet Lawrence’s gaze. “I was at the dining hall, with my mom. We had dinner, talked, whatever. It was a normal meal time. Then Mom left early because she had a headache - she gets those when she’s stressed. Anyway, after she left I hung around for a bit, chatted with a few people. I didn’t catch most of their names, but Andy was one who approached a bit later. I didn’t think anything of it at first. I was pretty much inviting anyone who wanted to talk over for, well, just that: to talk. I like talking to and meeting new people, and meal times are the best time for that here.”
Cami paused, brow furrowing slightly. She tucked some of her hair behind her ear and continued. “I’m not sure… what I said, or did, to make him think I was looking for more than a friendly talk. But when I was ready to leave, Andy offered to walk me home. The request was innocent enough, but I don’t know. There was just something… off about it. My brothers taught me to listen to my gut, so I thanked him but turned him down, said I could get to my tent on my own. He didn’t argue, and I left.”
She stopped again, her lips pursing in annoyance and thinly veiled fear. “I wasn’t even halfway back when he popped up out of nowhere and pinned me in an alley between two tents. He held my arms and tried to kiss me. I kneed him, and shoved him away. I went to run but he grabbed the back of my shirt and yanked me back. So, I turned around and punched him. Right in the nose.” She showed off her bruised knuckles. “When I ran that time, he didn’t try to stop me. I went right back to my tent and told my mom what happened. Callum showed up halfway through, figured out what happened, and stormed off. Mom told him not to, but he wasn’t listening. But, uh, yeah. That’s what happened.”

The day for Parker was a normal one in port. Having learned from his last experience, he didn't stick with just Mason and Quill this time around. Instead, Kip (formally Fin, the healer apprentice XD) had asked if he would like to help him run a few errands for Jess. The two had spent some time in hanging out when there wasn't much to do on the ship, or whenever Parker need ore tonic to help with a sudden resurgence of seasickness. So he agreed, thinking it'd be fun to explore some of the different shops he wouldn't normally go into for a change.
It took about two hours or so to accomplish all the tasks Jess had listed out for her apprentice. Truth be told, they would have been done sooner had Kip not gotten side tracked, stopping at random places that he personally liked or thought Parker might like. A bookstore here, a store that made the best peanut brittle there, a little café where you could pet cats and drink coffee or tea. All of the stops were interesting, and he even found a couple of things that he thought Anya would love. He came close to buy a few when he remembered that he wouldn't be able to give it to her on their birthday. Sure, he could have bought it anyway and still give it to her later, but would it be the same? After a long debate and three shops later, he gave in and ended up buying a small set of gemstones. He might ask around and see if someone could make them into a necklace or something. Or maybe he would just given them to her as is.
With his gift in hand and all of the supplies needed for Jess, he followed Kip back towards the boat. Before they could go do anything else, they wanted to give the supplies to the Healer, which was fine with him. It would give him a chance to store the gemstones before he had a chance to lose them. He just had to figure out if he was going to store them in the small chest by his hammock, or in Sol's room.
~*~*~
Anya just held his gaze for a moment, not sure what to say. What could she say? There had to be a reason, some justification on his part that made him claim to enjoy it. He had mentioned before that there were plenty of missions he was sent on he hated doing. She knew for a fact he hated killing Nick. So he couldn't have meant that he enjoyed all of the jobs he worked. Or could he have simply been lying to cover up how he actually felt about? The look in his eyes told her that he didn't like to admit it, so there had to be more to this than he was saying. "Well, I'm sure there were times when you went after people who deserved to be dealt with," she said. "People who I'm sure you did take pride in taking off the streets. Like that drug lord you and Stel went after that ended with her being banned from the city."
~*~*~
(XD You'll be fine, I'm sure. Besides, we'll just say Cami's account of things is more correct since she was the actual one there, and anything Andy said is fake because he's a liar. XD)
Lawrence took notes as she talked, more for legalities than necessity. He didn't think the young woman would lie about any of this. If she was looking to get Andy into trouble, than she would have fabricated the story to be worse than it was, just to incriminate him a worse and more punishable charge. The fact that she said that nothing too terrible had happened spoke more. Not to say the experience wasn't terrible. Gods know how scarred she must have been. "Thank you, Miss Vera. As much as I wish I could promise you that this won't happen again, I do not control the actions of everyone here, much to the disbelief of your brother. What I can offer you is the knowledge that we don't punish those acting in self defense. Should you find yourself in this situation again, you have my full permission to strike harder. Flash a bit of steel if you have it. I will see to it that Andy is put into his place. Sadly, I can't force him to leave seeing as it would be a security risk to us here should he decide to turn on us for it, but if I find anything else about him and his actions, there'll be a place in the holding cells just for him. I wish that there was more that I could do."

Evaleigh’s eyes landed on Emma in the kitchen when she spoke “I didn’t mean to do that but it was pretty nice.” She said with a chuckle. She noticed that Stitch was no longer around and plodded over to Emma “Where did Stitch go?” She questioned leaning on the counter, not that she expected him to be here since she had been out for 2 hours. “I was going to go check in on Dallas, would Stitch be okay if I went back there without him?” Evaleigh asked, gesturing towards Stitch’s office. At the sound of Evaleighs voice, Beau arose from his slumber and lazily joined the girl at her side. He sat and briefly scratched at this collar with his back foot before letting out a yawn.

As soon as Sol got to his ship, he called for Beckham. He knew, without having to check, that the quartermaster was still on the ship. Beckham enjoyed a trip to shore as much as the next man, but he was also smart enough to catch up on sleep when the opportunity presented itself. And a brief port stay like this one was just that opportunity. Sol felt a little bad for pulling the man from a much deserved rest, but he resolved to make it up to him later.
Sol waited in the navigation room. He looked through his charts, studied the timeline he had mapped out for this endeavor, and confirmed that they had no time to get stuck portside by a storm. They had to leave with the next tide, or they wouldn't be leaving at all for the gods knew how long.
There was a knock on the open door. "You called, Captain?"
Sol glanced up. "Yes. There's a storm coming, and we need to be ahead of it. Send out the word, Beckham, and get everyone back here, now."
Beckham considered his captain for a long moment before dipping his chin in a nod. "Aye, Captain. I'll see it done."
"Good."
Beckham left, and Sol went back to studying the charts, plotting the swiftest course to their next destination, without bringing them too close to any land. The sea was dangerous in a storm, but it could be downright deadly along the shoreline. The Comet was a large ship, but even she could be shoved into a cliff and shattered if hit by the right wave. Sol knew leaving now was risk enough; he didn't need to tempt fate further.
He was distracted a short while later by a familiar voice: Kip, returning from port. Sol was about to dismiss him when he noticed Apollo's head come up, attention fixing on something on the main deck. Without having to check, he knew that that meant Parker was back too. Sol hesitated a moment, then whistled quietly to get Apollo's attention. Sol nodded toward the deck. "Go get him."
Apollo didn't need to be told twice. He jumped up and went running to fetch his second favorite human.
~ • ~ • ~ Seth gave a humorless laugh and looked down at the floor between his feet. "Yeah, some of them were bad. Some of them were really bad. But how is what I did to them, to others, any better? If death is what they deserved for doing bad things, what do I deserve?"
~ • ~ • ~ ( Good point. xD )
Cami nodded. "Thank you, sir. I appreciate it." She would have preferred it if Andy could be sent elsewhere, but she couldn't argue Lawrence's point about the security risk. She would just be keeping an extra weary eye out from now on.

"Oh, he had to run into town for a few things," Emma answered. "Should be back in an hour or so, but you're more than welcome to go on back and see Dallas. There's nothing in there that he wants to hide. She do be sure not to move anything out of place. He's very particular about that kind of thing."
The pair had almost made it to the staircase that would lead them below deck when Parker heard the pitter-patter (or the thundering, more accurately) of running footsteps. Sure enough, when he turned to see what it was, he saw Apollo racing towards him. No Sol, however, but his presence on the ship meant the captain was somewhere. "Hey, bud," he greeted, shifting the supplies he was carrying so he could give the dog a scratch behind his ears.
"He's really taken a liking to you," Kip commented, grinning.
"It's probably only because I feed him so much," Parker said with a laugh.

"We all deserve death, Seth. That's why we all die in the end," Anya told him. "So I will not stand here and let you use that as a means of self-deprecation. No, some of those people might not have needed to die so soon, but what else were you to do? Kill your family by refusing?"

"If you have any future problems, don't hesitate to speak to me about them. I will do my best to see them right. In the mean time-" Lawrence paused mid-sentence as me heard a knock on the post outside his tent. Before he even gave permission, Kyra stepped into the tent.
She had just made it back to the camp, and, as always, stopped by his office first to give report of what had happened. On the way, she happened to ran into Isayo, who told her of the commotion that went on between Andy and Callum. At first, she wasn't too concerned until he had mentioned the part about Cami. But that was something she could dig into later. She figured that things would have been settled by now, but upon reaching the spymaster's tent, she heard the muffled voices inside, and had caught sight of Morgan through the gap of the tent front. Knowing it was just them she was interrupting, she didn't care about barging in. "Holding parties now, are we?" she asked, though she didn't glace in Morgan's direction as she past him into the room.
Lawrence settled her with a gaze that said he would discuss her lack of respect soon. "We're just finishing up, but I am glad your here. You can spend the next few days teaching Miss Vera here how to handle a knife. The reasons can be told to you by her on a different time. I figured since you know her a bit better, it'll be more fitting for you to teach her than one of the battle masters. That is alright with you, Miss Vera?"

Evaleigh’s face was serious and she chewed her lip a little, wondering about what Dallas would look like when she went into the room. “I won’t touch anything.” She promised, heading Emma’s warning “Well, off I go then.” She said a little awkwardly, not sure how to end the conversation. Evaliegh headed down the hallway she had first gone down when she entered the house. She passed the bathroom and came upon the door that led to Stitch’s office. Evaleigh lightly knocked on the door, not wanting to surprise Dallas with her entrance, before twisting the doorknob and peeking into the room “Hello...” Her blue eyes wandered the room, taking in the surroundings before completely stepping into the space.

Apollo accepted his lovings with a doggy smile. But after a minute he stepped away and took a few steps back toward the stairs. He looked back at Parker and barked.
~ • ~ • ~ Well, that was an argument he'd never heard before, and not one he would have expected to get from Anya. He stared at her, completely at a loss now. For years he had kept so much hidden, believing that to show anyone what was inside him would only cause pain, to himself or others, or both. But Anya was knocking those beliefs down left and right, and she had been almost from the day he met her. He just hadn't realized it right away.
"Anya, I don't... I can't argue with you but that doesn't..." He shook his head and looked away. He became away of movements upstairs, warning them that they didn't have much time left before the rest of the family came down for breakfast. Seth turned back to Anya. "I'm trying, but I can't just forgive everything I've done. Good intentions or not, I've done so much bad and I just... I don't see an end to it. Not while Genevieve is still alive." And I already killed the only person who might have been strong enough to face her. But he couldn't bring himself to say that. Saying it out loud... it would be like a final blade into his already struggling hope.
~ • ~ • ~ Cami nodded to Lawrence, only to turn around in surprise when Kyra came striding in. She watched and listened, wide-eyed with fascination, as the other woman spoke to Lawrence.
Morgan, on the other hand, had gone tense all over when Kyra came in. It only got worse when she completely ignored her. In contrast, he couldn't make himself look away, not until Callum elbowed him. Morgan startled slightly and shot him a look. Callum just nodded toward Kyra and arched one brow in question. Morgan shook his head. He didn't want to talk about it. Callum narrowed his eyes in warning, but thankfully he didn't make an even bigger ass of himself by pushing the issue now. But Morgan knew it was only a matter of time before he came around demanding answers.
Cami, meanwhile, was looking startled by the change of topic. She looked between Lawrence and Kyra, momentarily at a loss for words. Then she snapped out of it and stammered, "O-of course. Sure. Yes. That would be much appreciated, thank you."
