Daniel pretended to think for a moment before answering, "I think I'll keep it a secret for awhile longer." He gave her a smile before backing out of the parking spot and started driving. "Do you also like the forest?" He asked after he started driving.
---
Amelia was surprised he said they can use someone like her. She just shrugged to that and replied, "well, why don't you just call them out on it instead of trying to politically correct? It would save a lot of trouble and pain then, but I can't tell you to do your job. It's just a suggestion." "So you don't mind going through all the houses in this part of town or would you rather go where all the shops are and where more people might be. It don't matter to me of course. We can go through this. If you want to see everything, this is the place to start to actually see everything.

I'm gonna be so heartbroken when Fin blames Cal for using her and not trying hard enough ngl)
"Not a second was boring," Cal reinforced, looking at her. He had somewhat forgotten Fin's parents watching them, since he wasn't paying attention. Finley had, like usual, taken his full attention. "And you should be calling yourself amazing. You were the best one out there. No, I'm not just saying that as a guy who's tone deaf and can't keep a beat to save his life, either. Don't try to argue with me, I'm over six feet tall and I look like I hate everything, so for me to actually look like I enjoyed something is groundbreaking." Cal meant it as a dry joke, but it had merit to it. As if remembering Finley's parents were right next to them, he turned slightly away from her so he wasn't blocking her view from them. It was just one of those quirks Cal had, especially since Ty died. He didn't like to limit anyone's family time, and he always felt as if he was for the Knox family.

His question sparked her curiosity. "Yeah, I guess I like forest well enough," she answered. "Was that a hint to our activity we're going to be doing?" (Really sorry for the short post.) ~* "I don't really need to make any enemies at the moment," Charles replied. His position as king was still too shaky to be making any drastic changes or tell a lot of people off. Maybe once he had a few years of ruling under his belt and his throne secured, then he may try to ease off of the etiquette. Until then, however, he would have to suffer through it. "No, we can go through the houses," he said. "It'll be good to know where most of the roads lead around here, so it would be beneficial in case I get lost."
(I know. It's going to be so bad. I can't wait. ) "Cal, you're a softy and you won't admit it," Finley teased him in a low voice, as if to keep the statement a secret. Sure, he put on airs that he was hard to impress, but she knew for a fact he wasn't as hard to please as he made himself out to be. "But I appreciate that you think I'm so good." She wrapped one arm around him as she looked over at her parents. "Are we heading home?" "Well, we were just going to see if both of you would like to eat out tonight," Lexi said with a small smile. It had been a long time since she had seen her daughter so happy, and she was glad that the two of them were together. "Our treat," she added, nodding to her husband.

"Oh, yeah, I'm a total softy," Cal said dryly, in the same tone Finley used. "You've discovered my Achilles heel. Be careful now, you might just ruin my invincibility and kill me if you keep poking at it." When Lexi spoke, Cal turned and listened to her intently before he shook his head. "I really shouldn't, I don't want to impose..." Cal started, trying to argue with the Knoxes. It wasn't that he didn't want to go, he did, it was just that he always felt bad when people offered to take him out, if it wasn't his family or friends. It was a quick, civil argument where, ultimately, Lexi won and Cal looked at Finley in defeat, trying to see if she'd be his savior and decide they'd skip out on dinner or join her folks.

"Yes, it is," Daniel nodded in response, "well, at least where we are going to be doing our activity out. It is there because it is so pretty to see everything." He continued driving, making his way out of the city.
(It's fine. Mine are becoming short too.)
---
"That is understandable," Amelia agreed and then added, "I would probably not last very long there. They would probably make my life hell of some sort if I was in your shoes." It wasn't a big deal anyways, she would never be there. She didn't have to worry about things like that. "Good choice, now, let's go." She started walking down the street, knowing it was going to be a long day if they going to explore all of the streets. "These first couple of roads will not contain any shops, just stands from what people are trying to sell. Most people don't come over here though, they go to the shopping street basically. They do buy things here though because it is on their way to their job or work for the day and it is also on the way back so people here do a decent job in making money. They just can't aford to set up a stand on the street there."

"If you don't want to go, you don't have to," Finley whispered to him as his argument with her mother didn't last long. She knew they had wanted to make cal feel a little more welcomed in their family, they just never had a good chance to do so. Yet as much as she'd love to have him join the dinner, she wasn't going to force him to go. "We can go out to dinner with them another time if you had wanted to do something else."
"Are we hiking or mountain climbing?" Sophia continued to ask. She knew it'd probably be better to just be quiet and find out when they got to wherever it was they were going, but she just couldn't help herself. The girl had to figure out what this surprise was.
~*
Charles listened to Amelia explain the setting of the streets, the only other noise coming from his horse's hooves striking the cobblestone road. This was relaxing. Sure he was walking far more than he ever had either in the castle or out on a hunt, but there was something about the pace and the scenery, and maybe even the company, that made the exercise pleasant. He would probably be tired by the end of the day, but maybe then he would be able to get a decent night's sleep.

"Maybe, maybe not," Daniel put it simply and made the motion of zipping his mouth and throwing the key away, driving in silence. He couldn't help but let a smile slip onto his face.
---
Amelia then started to explain the roads and how to get in and out of them and how not to get lost or stuck in a place. She walked and almost never stopped talking until they started to reach more toward the middle of the street. They were getting closer to her home now and where her mom would be waiting for her she just realized. Maybe she could talk to her mother for a moment to get out of working for the rest of the day. She figured her mom could handle it, she has before. She glanced back at her companion for the day, still actually surprised he was there and not annoyed with her.

"I'm not sure," Alec answered honestly, tracing his fingertips over her cheek. "But I wouldn't trade you for anything, so we're gonna go with good thing." He tilted her chin up and kissed her again, and once again, sliding his arms around her waist and her shoulders, holding her against him. He wanted to make the most of their limited time to be really alone. But also she was just-- Tori. His Tori. It would be a crying shame not to kiss her as often as he could.
Ugh, a crying shame? Really? We're really laying it on thick with the funky snobby-Brit-sounding phrases today, aren't we? And the royal we too?! What is wrong with me?

Sophia gave a small laugh and settled back into her seat. "Fine then, I'll stop asking," she said. "Why don't you tell me a bit more about yourself instead?" ~* "You know every detail of this place, don't you?" Charles asked with a small sense of awe. There were still places in the castle he still didn't know about, mainly because he never really had a reason to explore those parts of his home. Yet here was a girl who knew every twist and turn, every dead end and path that would lead to a different part of town. A town that was twice, if not three times, bigger than the castle. "It's incredible that you can remember where everything is."
Tori smiled against his lips as he kissed her again. She had no reply to his comment even if he hadn't drawn her close to him, so her arms wrapped around his neck loosely. This was better than any reply she could given anyway. The time for words had faded into the silence where they just enjoyed each others company, and kisses. (If any time you want to time skip, just let me know. I wasn't sure how much time we should spend in the hotel.)
"Hey," Peter said, smiling as he saw Hope. "Mom said we're going to beat up hooligans today." "I did not. I said we were talking to some," Lisa corrected. Funny how she didn't deny the fact of using the term hooligans.
(They look great! I love the fact that Aalaon is half werecat. That will definitely make things more interesting. )

"Well then, what would you like to know?" Daniel asked with a smile, glancing over at her while keeping his eyes on the road. They were now getting out of the city and headed toward the forest.
---
Amelia just shrugged, not knowing how to take the complement. She didn't get those very often, especially from a guy. So she kept her face neutral. "I guess you can say that. I liked to explore when I was little and would always come out here to explore and make sure I knew everything. Now I do. I don't know everything though. I don't know some people but I guess you can say I know most of them. If you hadn't been able to tell already, which I'm sure you have, I am quite the social butterfly."

I'm so close to finishing gossip girl helP)
The restaurant that was agreed on wasn't that far away from where they were, only about five minutes, so Cal got to enjoy a pretty quick drive behind the Knoxes' car, but this meant he had time to think, too. This would be the first time he ever spent a prolonged time with Finley's parents, so he wasn't completely what to expect. He decided it was best to just ignore it and pray he didn't get bombarded with awkward questions - he'd heard horror stories from his brothers about some of their girlfriend's families and the god-awful questions they asked. However, Cal knew it wouldn't be as bad as what his oldest brother once endured. His now-wife's grandfather had, in the oddly innocent way the elderly had, once asked Brandon a quite intimate question in front of her family on Thanksgiving that Brandon had to gracefully wiggle out of.
When they arrived at the restaurant, Cal parked a little ways away from the family and met them at the doors, sidling up to Finley and shot her parents another quick smile. Mark had opened the doors for the procession, and Cal thanked him as he passed by. As they went through the hostess and seating, Cal sat next to Finley's left across from one of her parents who were all smiles, presumably from seeing her daughter happy with a boy they liked. It felt really good, actually, to be liked, Cal ended up figuring.

"Well, how old are you?" Sophia asked. He looked to be around her age, but looks could be deceiving. "Where do you go to school, if you do go to school. Favorite hobbies?"
~*
"I wish I had a memory as good as yours. Some times I have trouble remembering what I had for breakfast," Charles said, chuckling. "I did a little exploring in my younger days as well, but sadly I don't have the time to continue that habit. Too many other things take up all my time these days."
(Haha, is it any good? I haven't watched it myself, but I've heard a lot of people talk about it. I also have no idea how much you want to rp during dinner, so I'm just going to describe it as open-ended a I can. XD)
Once everyone was seated at the table, Finley's parents struck up light conversation. Lexi was the one who asked more questions about his family. Olivia and her had become friends while Ty and Fin had been dating, but ever since the car crash, they hadn't talked much. Mark, for the most part, stayed silent other than to add in a comment here and here or there, as well as taking any chance to ask more about Cal's hobbies and personality. He made sure it wasn't anything too direct or personal, otherwise he was sure Lexi would have hit him.
Finley was more than happy to let her parents talk. She sat beside her boyfriend, watching in amusement as he got to know her parents. It was something that was going to happen sooner or later, but she hadn't really been worried about it. Calvin was a sweet guy, despite his past habits he was trying to break. There was no reason for her to worry that her parents wouldn't like him. However, she did spare him sometimes and joined the conversation so he could catch his breath and move certain topics along.

---
"I'm sorry to hear that," Amelia answered, "exploring is fun. It is also a great way to pass time. But you get to do it today." She did wonder what took up his time it would probably be things she didn't understand. They were now almost there at the main street in the south side.

Super!! I'd recommend it to anyone. Spring break starts tomorrow so I'm gonna bang it out during that. I'm just kinda leaving it open ended too...I hope you don't mind the reply I made)
Cal took all the questions in stride, thankful for Finley there to help get the ball moving enough so one topic wasn't their main discussion the entire night. The Knoxes were genuinely nice people - he had known their mothers were friends, and that's about all he knew about them really before jumping into their conversation. It was an honesty pleasant night, Cal would say so. A lot of Cal's anxiety was, he supposed, was fear that they knew about his old high school days and seem to act differently around him. Her parents had never spent a prolonged amount of time with him, so he was never able to tell before now. Either they were never told by Ty or Finley about those days, or they didn't care and actually wanted to get to know him from now.
Finishing dinner, in reality, was quite a slow affair even though it seemed to be over quite quickly. And, somehow during it, they'd gotten on the topic of movies playing, and Mark and Lexi had the idea to see one that Cal had said had gotten good reviews. They had invited Cal and Finley to come with, but Cal had declined, which made Finley also say no. Cal had told the Knoxes he'd just drive Finley home, that it wasn't a big deal, and for the pair to enjoy themselves at the movies. So that's why Cal and Finley were now walking across the parking lot to his car, which made Cal finally say: "Your folks are good people. I really like them."

"I'm nineteen, will be twenty this fall. I also go to college here, and my main hobby is dancing," Sophia replied. "Ballet mostly. What are you going to college for?"
~*
"Yeah, I guess so," Charles replied, grinning. It felt nice to be exploring again, like he was a kid again. "And the weather is nice too. I would have hated to have you show me around in the rain."
(Lol, I'll have to find time to watch it then.) (Nope, that was perfectly fine!)
In fact, Lexi had none a little about Cal's old high school days, yet she felt it was best not to mention or even hold that knowledge over the boy. It was obvious that he had come a long way since then by the way he spoke. Even Mark was starting to think higher of the boy dating his daughter so much that he didn't argue when Cal and Finley decided to go home. She was probably tire anyway, so he didn't mind their movie invite decline.
Finley, who had rested her head against Cal's shoulder as they walked across the parking lot, smiled at his comment. "See, my dad isn't so terrifying after all once you get to know each other," she said, tilting her head back to look up at him. "I think it's safe to say that they like you too."

(I mean, we could do that and try to keep it as light as possible. Like at the moment they could be more focused on if they're going to college and what kind of jobs/careers they might get. They could just take it one step at a time. But that's up to you. When should we skip? To the next morning when they wake up, or to when they're almost back home?) (Yeah, that's all I figured they'd cover anyways. Let's see. Much as I love fluff--and I do--you can only do so much with it. Why don't we skip to the car? That would naturally be a time to talk anyway, and when we've exhausted the subject, then poof! They're home. )

(Okay then.)
James walked into the house with a sigh. He felt as if he had bee all over the world today. After going to school that morning, and enduring three test he kind of forgot about, he had stopped by the police station to check on the court date for Amanda's ex. Of course, he could't just get the simple answer he was looking for. Instead, he waited half an hour before the person in charge of all those details was able to speak with him. Then he was given the date as well as some additional information that Amanda might need to know. Now, the boy was just glad to be home.
~*
Riley was in the living room, sitting on the floor next to the coffee table and trying to do homework. He didn't have any problems with the questions, and was almost done with the majority of his work. As much as he could care less about being in class, he had an easy time understanding the material given to him. It was probably the only reason his parents didn't get mad at him for slacking off.
"That's cool. You look like an engineer," Sophia commented with a smile. "I'm majoring in childhood education. Not the highest paying job, but it's pretty fun."
~*
"No, rain is fine. It's the colds you get when you spend too much time outside in the rain that I don't like," Charles replied. "I went out hunting with some friends of mine when we were seventeen. The weather was bright and sunny, and we figured it would stay like that for a while. So we packed light, leaving behind our tents since this was in the summer. Well, on day two of our trip, a thunder storm hit us out of nowhere. Long story short, all of us were sick for the next week."
(Okay, Mint!)
"Finally, I can use my crutches for something useful," Peter said, laughing slightly as he sat down at the table. his mother place a plate of food in front of him, and he thanked her before starting to eat.
