oo the little mermaid could be super fun as well! i'm down for either one, i don't really think i have a preference between them c: is there one of them you're feeling more? & yeah, i'm the same. i usually take the characters and very most basic premise and work from there, i don't like having the whole plot predetermined y'know?

oo, fun! i'm glad you're still on the lookout haha. i'd love to combine them, that sounds like a lot of fun! what kind of fairytales would go well with the fake dating trope? i feel like a lot of them could work quite well depending on how far you want to stretch the retelling? to me the most obvious one is beauty and the beast since both characters have a clear motivation for a fake relationship even in the original, but that fairy tale is probably the most retold of all time so if we want to come up with another we can absolutely do that
thank you for being so understanding c: i totally get it as well, any time you need a break let me know, whether it be before you leave or when you come back ^^

hello~! if you're still looking for people, i'd love to rp something with you! i'm a huge fan of both fake dating and fairytale retellings, but most of the tropes you listed are fun so if you're really in the mood for something specific let me know! As for fandoms, ATLA and PJO are both fun but it's been a long time since i rped anything fandom related and wouldn't mind rping without having it tied to a fandom as well, especially if we do a fairytale retelling or similar.
since you said you wanted to be warned ahead of time of inactivity, i'd like to give you the heads up that i came back from a long period of inactivity only a few weeks ago. i am chronically ill and as a result my activity varies. i try very hard to give a heads up when i'm getting worse, and most of the time i think i do, but now and again it creeps up on me unfortunately.

I joined in 2012 but mostly lurked for a year before I started being active, so more like 2013 forward. I can't remember my earliest screennames, I know Brackenfrost was an early one but I probably had one before that.

leftovers usually. if i have none available, then meatballs and cream sauce. easy to just throw on the stove and keep an eye on for 15 minutes. if i'm tired but have time to wait, then an oven-baked pancake is great too. a 5 minute batter and 45 minutes in the oven (during which i can take a just long enough nap) and then i'm good to go.

i've been infected with this increasingly desperate moth curiousity. thank you, sincerely.
you might've found everything i did already, but the latest sighting i could find was attributed to bon pradham from darjeeling, india here in august of 2022. assuming i found the right man (no idea how common his name is), he seems to be an amateur photographer and he does indeed upload thousands of images of various insects to iNaturalist Australia, a previously unknown to me platform which i am now obsessed with. i found the picture referenced in the previous link uploaded here along with another one, likely of the same individual. notable that the upload date is different to the date cited on the previous webpage. maybe that was when they catalogued it at moths of india?? idk. you can also find a bunch of other sightings posted to iNaturalist and see when, where, and by who it was sighted. super cool! i will almost definitely be doing a deep dive looking for other cool insects now that i know it exists.

harry potter is one of those series that i loved for a period of time in my life, but will never reread again. not only because of who jk has shown herself to be, but because i simply wouldn't like them as much or even at all. for a while now i've noticed my opinion of the writing, characters, worldbuilding etc slipping with every return to the series unfortunately :c but i'll always have a certain nostalgia for the books, i think. the books can be incredibly entertaining! i hope you enjoy them.

we celebrate christmas eve as well! just me and my immediate family, which was lovely.
I got some new sheets, last i got some for myself was years ago so i was in desperate need haha. i also got a few new books, some warm layers, and a bluetooth speaker to replace my old one which stopped connecting with bluetooth earlier this year... that one was like 10 years old and dirt cheap so it's a massive upgrade! already in love
i got the family a bunch of board games. we play a lot of games together so it's always good to add to the collection.

for a meal? pancakes. waffles are better, though. but they're more effort and only really work as desert so i don't eat them as often. note this goes only for swedish waffles and pancakes which are different to their american versions. never had american waffles though and american pancakes i've only had once, so i don't think i'm qualified to speak on those

my goals have been going okay, other than struggling a bit with reading every day, but not so well that i feel i can increase them. i'm okay with that, small steps are better than no steps and i have been noticing an improvement in motivation and being content with what i've done by the end of the day even with the little things i have done.

i didn't manage to get outside yesterday due to a migraine. i do think i could have sat outside for a while with sunglasses and maybe help getting downstairs, but with pain and meds i completely forgot i was supposed to go so didn't even try. i'm not going to beat myself up about it, but i made sure to spend a little longer outside today to make up for it in a way, even if i tried not to feel like i had to.

my grandma sends us grandkids a calender each every year, which is honestly so sweet (literally and figuratively lol). my oldest cousins are in their 30s now and could reasonably afford to get themselves a high quality calender if they wanted, as could most of us, and we all still get a cheap chocolate calendar at the end of november every single year. the designs are the same as they've been my entire life, and i get nostalgic every time they arrive and every time i open a door.
i don't like getting myself calenders if i don't know the content, and things like skin care or make up i'm very picky with so i'd rather spend the money on a few items i know i'll use, but i do want to christmas somehow so i usually get a book series and a scented candle and decide on a number of pages to read. it's been tradition since i was little and i got an advent calender book. it was split into 24 chapters and told the nativity with some creative liberties taken, and i loved it. for years i'd read it every single advent. i'm no longer in the target age range, so now i read a book with winter vibes instead (though i did consider finding the book this year just for nostalgia's sake). this year i got the bear and the nightingale and its sequels to read

i did okay today i think! i didn't reach the full 60 minutes outside, but i did get the 30, so i'll consider it a partial victory. it feels really strange to not have anything to midlessly scroll through when i'm in a lull while cooking or while waiting for someone to go to lunch, but i've managed to reroute to a sudoku or crossword without much difficulty. i'm hoping to eventually turn to a book or tidying up for those two minutes instead, but i'm not going to force myself to do that while i'm still getting used to it.

i am obsessed with double deckers. it's a good thing they're not available here or i would eat far too many. they're so soft and the puffed rice adds a texture that's crispy but not hard. delicious.
here, i basically only eat kexchoklad as far as candy bars go. they're basically thin, slightly sweet wafers stacked with a thin layer of chocolate between, and then covered in a thicker layer of chocolate. if you're ever at an ikea and see some (idk if they're still sold at international ikeas, but i used to get a couple every time i went to an ikea when living abroad at least) i definitely recommend giving them a go! they're light and airy and have just the right chocolate to wafer ratio.

i've nailed down my goals as well. it's looking more and more likely i'll be on sick leave for the majority of the month, part or full time, so my goals are shaped by that and not as ambitious as they might've been otherwise. most notably i won't be limiting my time in front of a screen/setting rules for when/where i'm allowed them and focusing on what i should do instead, which i figure (and sincerely hope) is still in the spirit of the challenge e~e
1. i'll be uninstalling all socials from my phone. my computer is just fine. after the first week, i intend to come back to this goal and try to also add a specific time to check them, but for now no such restriction. 2. read at least 50 pages of a physical book per day. hopefully this is the goal i'll increase with every passing week, i'm hoping to reach my old routine of ~100 pages a day by the new year. 3. pain and temperature permitting, spend 30 minutes outside, 60 if not working. a walk is preferred, but just sitting in the garden is okay as well.

every year, without fail, my health takes a nosedive this time of year, and my fatigue and pain levels are both at their worst barring after injury etc. so i don't really have plans. i meet up with my friends for christmas, and spend what energy i can on finishing my school work for this term, and that's about it

yes because i'm always cold falling asleep, but i always take them off in my sleep and only find them 50% of the time. so every week when i change my sheets i find tons of socks between my wall and the matress, or under the sheets, and when i hoover there's always a little collection under the bed >-<

probably early to mid november is okay with me for most things. the advent period is a big part of christmas here, probably as important as the actual christmas eve even if there are only a few days we actively celebrate it, so it makes sense to give people a chance to prepare for that. i will say though, things that are exclusively for christmas, like christmas themed wrapping paper or those light up santas or whatever else people want to indulge in, i'd prefer to stay out of shops until advent starts at least.

my favourite part of playing is the building aspect, so vanilla does just fine for me. sometimes i play with more "vanilla+" type mods that update structures or give me more blocks/biomes to build with, but almost never anymore. there are so many blocks in vanilla that i don't feel like i need more like i did five or six years ago.

maybe! I'd love to be a parent someday, and I think with help from a partner and family I'd be an okay one. but it's not my number one priority and I'd want to finish my education and find my footing in society first, and if it never happens I'll be okay with that.
I'm never going to get pregnant and give birth. for that to be safe for me and the fetus I'd have to come off medication that I will never voluntarily come off for years before trying, and then spend the pregnancy in massive pain and likely on bedrest. pregnancy and childbirth is also risky for me given some diagnoses I have. so no pregnancy. but I'd be willing to adopt, or if any potential future partner wanted to go through IVF and carry her biological child I'd support her in that.
