To be honest, I miss name raters and had the sudden urge to make one so give me some Clan or Tribe names and I'll rate them on a scale of 1-10, give a brief description on the rating, and exceptional names go to the hall of fame! Hall of Fame: Greyspeck ( Psi Nygma ) Snowwhisper ( 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 ) Dapplenight ( Moonblazer ) Wrenthorn ( 𝐛𝐥𝟒𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐨𝐥 ) Stormsnarl ( Brownie ) Nightcurl ( Brownie ) Applefreckle ( stormshade1 ) Frosttrail ( 《 ★ Copper ★ 》 ) Mothglade ( 《 ★ Copper ★ 》 ) Rainshatter ( stormshade1 ) Tortoisemask ( Brownie)

yay one that I can participate in!! I'd love to hear your opinions on some of the Granite Circle names uwu Prairiescorch Gingersneeze Quillstomp Raptorblossom Sloefang Dustvenom Tumblesky Petaldust Fissurefleck Birchflame Prairiescorch: 8/10: gives the image of a burning prairie, feels a bit poetic Gingersneeze: 7/10: a cute name, though I'd imagine ginger makes the character sneeze. Quillstomp: 8/10: cute; reminds me of a porcupine! Raptorblossom: 7/10: I have some mixed feelings because I don't know if it flows well but I like the idea of combining a "sharp" sounding name like raptor with something "softer" like blossom. Sloefang: 8/10: A little generic, but I can't complain and it sounds nice. Dustvenom: 6/10: I love the words dust and venom for a name but putting them together like this sounds a bit weird. It is still a bit cool though so I also have mixed feelings. Tumblesky: 6/10: This name is fun, I don't really have much to say but it's cute and makes me think of clouds. However, it also doesn't particularly stand out so I think 6 is fair. Petaldust: 9/10: I have a soft spot for most flower names or names that end in dust. It's simple, but pretty and I like it. Fissurefleck: 8/10: admittedly I was going to rate this lower but then I said it out loud and appreciate the alliteration; it's fun to say. Birchflame: 7/10: I feel similar to how I feel about Sloefang; it's a little generic but not bad.

I think we have similar ideas of a good name uwu Three more for the road~ Brightclover Cobrastone Garnetneedle Brightclover: 6/10: I like the sound of it and it's a cute, fun name. Not much to complain about here. Cobrastone: 6/10: Interesting name. I am not sure if it flows well though. Garnetneedle: 6.5/10: Similar to Cobrastone, I think it's an interesting name like both the prefix and suffix but it feels a bit wordy when put together. Pretty imagery for this one though! (I know this are all similarly rated, I hate Brightclover at a 7 at first but realized I liked the other two names a little more so it wouldn't be accurate lol)

Gingerflame: 7/10: A solid name! It sounds nice and has both good personality and imagery! Princesspelt: 6/10: I am assuming this is a cat who used to be a kittypet? If so, then it's a plain, but effective name and I appreciate the simplicity. Greyspeck: 10/10: This name is so cute! I love anything with the color grey though so that may make me bias, but it's very cute, reminds me of a grey-flecked care or grey specks of dust. Chocolatechips: 6/10: Also assuming this was a kittypet name otherwise I would rate it lower, but this is very cute! Dawnmoon: 7/10: Interesting name. It dives the impression of those times when the moon is still out during the day. Savannahstrike: 6/10: Love the alliteration! Ravenwhorl: 6/10: I really like the prefix raven and the imagery, however, it doesn't have an amazing flow when said aloud (at least to me). Cherrydapple: 7/10: Cute name! The use of "dapple" is almost always nice. Chestnuttail: 6/10: It sounds nice but the double T makes it difficult to read. Lynxtuft: 8/10: Sweet name! It's straitghtforward but gives an image of a lynx-looking cat. Monarchmask: 5/10: I like the idea of this name, the imagery (like a cool butterfly mask pattern or the cat being monarch butterfly colored), and the alliteration, but it sounds a bit wordy to me. Storncloud: 8/10: Straight to the point yet effective. Axolotltuft: 5/10: The same issue with Monarchmask; I think that this would be a really cute cat; I imagine they have tufts of fur that look like an axolotl and that's adorable! However, I just don't think it flows well, especially with the other names. However, both this and Monarchmask also give strong imagery for the cat so really it's up to you what to do with these names; I just gave them a middle ground because of mixed feelings. Pakeash: 5/10: To be honest, I really don't know how I feel about this name. Softsand: 7/10: Nice, quick, alliterative name, it's also fun to say. Sandspeck: 6/10: A speck of sand...it's a pretty good name, I'd imagine this cat is very sandy colored (like tan with gray/black/white specks just so it looks like the individual sand grains). Snowstorm: 9/10: Simple, but effective. Yellowdawn: 6/10: Not much to pick at here. Maybe a softer sounding color than yellow would be more effective but it's also fine as is. Quite a few but I was currious about the names I have for the Jake/ Tallstar AU I have for the known family tree

Oooo, always wanted to know how my ocs names sounded not gonna lie. Pinestep Nightfall Stemweaver Mintleaf Silenthiss Squirrel Tail Quietcreek Wobbleleap Snowwhisper Cloudedfate Crowcall Oooh, these are all nice! Pinestep: 9/10: I love forest sounding names and this gives a great vibe of walking through a pine forest! Nightfall: 8/10: Straightforward but also pretty and effective. Stemweaver: 9/10: Oooh, that one's really cool; I like the sound of it. Mintleaf: 7/10: Cute! It's a sweet name! Silenthiss: 6/10: I like the idea of this name but it was a bit hard to read at first admittedly. Squirel Tail: 7/10: Cute, simple, and effective. Likely a fluffy tailed cat? Quietcreek: 9/10: I love this name; it's so peaceful. Wobbleleap: 8/10: I feel like this is the type of name I wouldn't normally like but it's also just really fun to say. Snowwhisper: 10/10: This is a bit of a biased rating, because this is the type of name I would come up with (this and Pinestep); I love the snow, I love the quiet and whispers so it's a great name for me, very gentle and pretty, yet mysterious. Cloudedfate: 6/10: I like this name, and I like the idea of this name; the prefix is just a little wordy to me. Crowcall: 9/10: You have such great names! I can really hear this one; also nice aliteration. It's also a fairly simple name, but it works!

I like to think that Princess, and Chocholate are both named in honor of their roots. GingerFlame is not as out right fire coloured anymore so thats him. SanannahStrike is a Savannah so to be fair it's such a lazy name but I'm happy you love it. I agree with ChestnutTail, but I do it more often with both letters capitalized as I just find it easyer to read A fun Fact SnowStorm and YellowDawn are the same cat. They asked to be remnamed because of their vitiligo , wanting to fully imbrace their difference. PikeAsh was meant to be PaleAsh if you want to give a rating for his actual name MonarchMask is a ginger colourpoint, and I really want to Use Axolotl but I'm open if you have a better suffix for them (and a better butterfly for Monarch) nothing necicary of course I would just love the advice if you have good names. No hastle as they arn't technically even born yet For a posible one I also have MoonMinnow

Oh, Paleash is pretty nice sounding so I'll give it 8/10. Thanks for explaining some of the characters, so the names make more sense. Also, that's really cool that Snowstorm and Yellowdawn are the same cat! That's cool! I think that Monarchmask and Axolotltuft should be fine for now, I can't really think of anything at the moment to improve them but I will let you know if I think of anything; maybe something related to the water for Axolotl? Also, Moonminnow is a cute name!

Just a few since I don't have that many OCs! -Lapislake -Buttermilk -Littlewish -Jasminebreeze -Servalspots -Tickletease -Shatteredstone Can you tell that I like alliteration lol Lapislake: 8/10: I love the alliteration and lapis is such a pretty color, plus lake imagery is always nice. Buttermilk: 6/10: It's a really cute name but it is probably a kittypet name? I don't know if the wild cats would know what butter was. Littlewish: 8/10: This name is adorable! Jasminebreeze: 7/10: I can almost smell the jasmine now; pretty name. Servalspots: 7/10: Not gonna lie, all I can imagine is an actual serval. Nothing wrong with the name though, but I read it as "severalspots" at first and thought that was a little funny. Tickletease: 4/10: It's fun and I like the alliteration but I just personally dislike it; it sound a little weird to me. Shatteredstone: 7/10: Nice, pretty name, I like how it's both destructive (shattered) and pretty; nice imagery that way and it's also straight to the point.

I respect your ranking! I’m happy you like most of the names! For clarification, Buttermilk is a former kittypet (with a sultry southern accent, at that!) who joined a clan! And Tickletease was originally going to be named Ticklesneeze (much like how a sneeze tickles your nose) but I didn’t think it flowed very well, so I went with the latter for alliteration. I understand why you aren’t fond of it, I just think the tickle prefix would be fun to use!

And I can also understand why you would like Tickletease, it's just a matter of personal preference for that one I think; Tickle is a fun prefix though!

one more set of circle names because they're a little edgy uwu also all of these have pretty established personalities, if you want to do a bonus round and guess a major personality trait based only on the name (no pressure if you dont want to tho) Zephyrsnap Primrosedawn Briarbite Oasisecho Frogdrizzle Coronagleam Spikyflight Shimmerblaze Tussockleap I love the idea of this bonus round! Zephyrsnap: 7/10: Oh, that's a pretty cool name; like a snap of a cold breeze. I imagine this cat to be kinda of a go-getter with a quick thinking personality, I think it's because of how the name sounds and the "snap" part. Primrosedawn: 7/10: Maybe it's just the name but I imagine this cat is pretty regal and serious; also the name is very pretty I think it sounds a little snooty but in a good way (it's the "prim"/"primrose" part tbh but I love that)? It is very pretty imagery too, like primroses hightlighted by the dawn's light. Briarbite: 8/10: Quick and alliterative; it also makes be think this cat has been tangled up or scratched by briars before. I'd imagine mostly easygoing personality but they can also have a bit of bite at some moments/when pushed to the limits. Oasisecho: 5/10: Hmm I am not sure what to think of this; there is something pleasing about it beginning and ending with 'o' but at the same time, it's a bit of an odd name to pronounce. I'd imagine this cat to be calm, cool, and reflective. Frogdrizzle: 8/10: Okay, I actually find this one adorable. You know those photos of frogs in the rain under a leaf as their umbrella? That's what I think of; or just frogs in the rain in general. Very cute! I'd imagine a sweet but slightly grumpy character. Coronagleam: 7/10: This is a pretty nice name; very strong and bright because of the sun imagery. It doesn't flow extremely well but I think it works well despite that. I'd imagine the cat is a very leader type character. Spikyflight: 7/10: Okay, I actually find this name very fun. I am not exactly sure what it means of anything like that but it sounds fun and gives me a clear image of a cat; spiky fur and a personality that would deserve the suffix flight...maybe they are energetic? Shimmerblaze: 6/10: It's nice but it doesn't hold much substance to it; it sounds nice though and sometimes that's okay. I'd say based on the name the character has a firey personality? Tussockleap: 6/10: Not sure how I feel about the flow of the name, however, it's still a fun name and I can imagine the cat leaping through the grass. I'd imagine their personality is a bit "average/plain" and they don't stand out too much but they are a reliable warrior and strong hunter.

I'd imagine their personality is a bit "average/plain" and they don't stand out too much but they are a reliable warrior and strong hunter. <3 You're pretty close on a lot of them, which is good! That means I chose fitting names for them haha I'll get a 9 one day xp The first three are all healers. Zephyrsnap is a little old lady that's pretty quiet, but is wickedly intelligent and doesn't tolerate any nonsense. She probably was an overachiever in her youth and is very ambitious, always wanting to be on the top of the list. Primrosedawn is my darling she is very eloquent and uses words and wordplay and crafts this mask of being posh, but she's really a gremlin who will do anything just to spite anyone she doesn't like. She got kicked out of her Order and immediately signed up to help their greatest rival just to mess with them. And Briarbite is def snappish, but he doesn't have a soft side xp He's def the kind of guy that would yell at kids to get off his grass and consider it his job and go on rants about conspiracy theories. His -bite suffix actually comes from his really bad underbite. Oasisecho took some time to grow on me. I knew I wanted Oasis- but it is SO hard to get a nice sounding suffix for that. I think cool and calm are good words for her. She is def out for revenge in her character arc, but it's a very cold, methodical and slow approach. She's been moving up in the ranks of the army so that she'll have the political weight to exact changes in the system after her brother's exile. Frogdrizzle is an absolute cutie!! He's a curly fur dilute tortie <3<3 The world this is set in a simulation, and occasionally the moderators drop in an OC; Frogdrizzle is one of those, so he doesn't have to follow the rules haha. I know EXACTLY the image you're thinking of and it would be so cute for him to get grumpy sometimes. <3<3 Right now, he's a nursery aide and herb gatherer who isn't very good at fighting or hunting, but has quick reflexes and good instincts. Coronagleam def makes herself take leadership positions, but only to order people about. She's an artistic type and the sort to keep insisting that chores are fun and you have to sing this rhyme while cleaning the dens and if you're not smiling, you're letting the team down! and such. A bit bossy, but bubbly and creative. I think I was leaning into the Corona = crown = diva/entitled princess vibes with her haha You got Spikyflight right on. She's tiny, fluffy, and a ball of energy. Also utterly fearless and will throw herself into a fight without a second thought, which always makes her girlfriend worry over her. I don't know if Shimmerblaze really fits his name. I think he was named something fiery to maybe make him hope to aspire to something greater? He probably kept up appearances more when he was younger; he's def a peaked in high school kind of character, who joined the football team because his parents told him to, married the cheerleader everyone thought he should love, and then went home and lived the rest of his live on the couch because everyone else told him he was accomplished and had the perfect life. Which is a long way to say: he is very unmotivated and while he has a good memory, he only uses it for gossip. Everyone can see he's unhappy but he's totally unwilling to put in any effort to find what he actually likes. And finally Tussockleap, which you also got spot on. She's a very average hunter in SkyClan. Maybe a little less reliable, because she tends to be sickly and ill a lot, but when she's healthy, she's def the core of any team and always tried her best when she is able to.

Brownie glad to hear I got most of them right! I actually like that Shimmerblaze's name doesn't fit his personality, it adds a nice contrast and I like the idea that it's something that represents potential or aspiration rather than reality. Honestly, I probably should have given Frogdrizzle a 9 now that I think of it. It's just so cute. Also Primrosedawn sounds exactly like I imagined her. They all seem like great characters!

I found an old AU Family tree so I'm going to put the names here (Which I may use somewhere else) Nutmegtail: 7/10: It's a cute name. Mosslight: 9/10: Very pretty! I love moss though so I'm a little biased; the imagery is great though. Slatetail: 8/10: I'll admit I also like the word "slate" a lot; this name is simple yet effective. Hawktallon: 7/10: Honestly, I wish people used "-talon" more so that's pretty cool to see. Maplemoon: 6/10: Nice alliteration and I like the Autumn vibes it gives me, however, it doesn't feel like it flows very well. Tigershade: 7/10: Not much to complain about here; a solid name overall. Oakstripe: 7/10: Another simple but effective name. Sandyspot: 6/10: I have mixed feelings on this; sometimes names that feel like they are just a word/term work and sometimes they fall a little flat; I don't know whether to think of sandy spot, as in a place that is sandy, or if this cat has sand colored spots. It's still a cute name though. Snowflower: 7/10: Pretty, not too much and not too little. I like it. Spiritleap: 6/10: I never know how to feel about "spirit" in a name but this makes me think the cat is very enegetic or joyful; their spirit always "leaping" Spotpetal: 5/10: Mixed feelings here; it works but reads a bit strangely; I appreciate it though, I don't think I usually see "spot" used like this. Ashenbelly: 8/10: I like this one a lot actually. It goes either one of two ways. either the cat feels sick to their stomach a lot or they have a grey belly. Either way, I like the name. Redmoon: 7/10: Another simple, but effective name. Clear imagery and strong without being overly flowery. Snowtuft: 8/10: This is a name in the books but I still love the name; very cute and pretty. Tulipbud: 6/10: Cute, but unsure of how I feel about it other than that. Fallenleaf: 7/10: I love Fall/Autumn themes so this is nice. It's another plain name, but does its job well. Fernface: 7/10: Nice alliteration. Overall, a nice name. Acornstep: 8/10: The "step" suffix is always so nice to me; it just sounds very pleasent, and this name works well with it. Lilythorn: 9/10: Lilies are my favorite flower and thorn implies a sense of danger, so I like those aspects of this name. Frozenfeather: 7/10: I like it, a feather frozen in ice. Pretty. Tawnyclaw (Tawnypelt): 8/10: I think that a name like this would suit her better, honestly. It also connects her to Tigerclaw, which is interesting... Brambleflower (Brambleclaw): 7/10: I like the idea of this being Brambleclaw's name, do you think Brambleblossom, Bramblepetal, or Bramblebloom might work better? Swiftfang: 7/10: A good warrior's name; their fangs are swift, implying a dangerous bite and fighter. Ashmask: 8/10: Cool name and aesthetically appealing. Birchthorn: 7/10: Feels like it would be a somewhat common warrior name, but it still works very well. Smokespot: 7/10: I like the smoky visuals of this name. Butterflyflower: 5/10: I think that butterfly and flower are both too wordy to put together like this, but I appreciate that they are similar ideas put together, maybe Butterflypetal could work better? Gorsestripe: 7/10: A pretty plain name that could go for any type of character, and it works because of that. Smokefeather: 8/10: Pretty! I like the imagery and vibe that it gives. Rednose: 6/10: There's nothing particularly wrong with it, it's a cute name, I'm just not the biggest fan. Carrotleaf: 6/10: Interesting...I don't know if I've ever seen "carrot" in a warrior name; not sure if I like it or not so I'll give it a neutral rating. Pepperflake: 8/10: This is adorable; gives the vibe of a pepper shaker. Smallear: 7/10: Smallear as in the elder from the books? It's a nice name, though. Echomist: 9/10: I've always thought this was a pretty name. Flamefoot: 6/10: It's a good name, but I don't really feel strongly to it either way. Frostdrop: 8/10: Cute! Makes me think of snowdrop flowers. Poppyeye: 6.5/10: I like it yet don't like it at the same time, but it leans a bit more torwards like. Longlunge: 6/10: Very similar feelings to how I feel about "Poppyeye" Lilyheart: 8/10: I feel like this was in the book at some point but I still love the name. Crowfrost: 9/10: This is a name in the books, otherwise I would give it a 10, but I have always loved this name (I was a big Crowfrost fan, in part because of his name).

Sorry, I didn't see this until now. Foothead: 2/10: Why? It just doesn't make sense to me, sorry. Toemuzzle: 4/10: Oddly enough I like this one more than Foothead lol. Cinnamoncreek: 6/10: I like the sound of it. Firemask: 7/10: This one is pretty cool. Stinkypelt: 3/10: I just don't think someone would name their kit Stinkykit and even if it was a name given later in life, it feels a bit mean.

Four names to brighten your day <3 Iciclefeather Gorsefox Hibiscusflame Ternbounce Iciclefeather: 6.5/10: I really love the idea of this name and it's very pretty, leaving a beautiful image, but it just feels a little worse to me. Gorsefox: 8/10: Cute name. I don't often see 'fox' as a suffix but I actually really like it and might use it more often now. Hibiscusflame: 6.5/10: similar to Iciclefeather, I love the idea and imagery but it feels wordy. Although I still really like the idea of this name, I can visualize it really well and it makes me want some hibiscus tea lol. Also flowers paired with burning is really cool and edgy so I love that. Ternbounce: 6/10: I was having trouble eating this one because it is a solid name and there's nothing wrong with it, it's just not my cup of tea, I can definitely see the appeal though!

I've been indexing the names I use for fanclans just to see what kind of trends I have in naming conventions (and if I've ever been really stuck on one prefix-suffix combo) and I haven't done any data analysis on it yet BUT it has reminded me of many great names so here's a few

I just coppied the Family tree so a few cannn might have slipped through lol To be clear I kept the legacy naming with Bramble so Fire named him BrambleFlower after his mother. TigerStar named Tawny after himself I also think Showtuft might be Snowkit, which is a woops on my end for just stealing tuft Last edit: I only read the first books
