"Oh no.." Murmured Flintpaw. We're too late!
"C'mon. Hurry!" He urged, pushing his brothers onto the stepping stones.
~~~
Finchpaw nervously took tiny steps from each one, his paws trembling.
~~~
Flintpaw turned to Minnowpaw. "We don't have time."

Minnowpaw's face twisted into something like regret, worry, and concern. "A-alright." She forced herself to cross the stones first to be a good role model to the younger apprentices. In actuality, she was terrified out of her mind that she would slip on the slick rocks and get swept away in the current. "It's ok," she reassured herself as the stream water lapped at her paws. "We'll be fine. Dapplepaw probably just got scared of a toad or something." The she-cat let out a weak laugh that sounded more like a choked cough. Her throat convulsed in fear. Water was definitely not her favorite thing.
[ haha it's ironic cause she's named Minnowpaw ]
---
Jaypaw stared at the forest beyond, and muttered under his breath, "Hold on Dapplepaw."

Flintpaw followed after his sister, the water lapping at his paws, making the path slipperiery.
~~~
Finchpaw let out a relieved sigh as made it to the end. The landscape completely changed at the end of the stream. Bramble thickets and thorn bushes were everywhere, not to mention the horrible stench. It smelled like Willow trees and Deathberries.
Involuntarily, Jaypaw shuddered. His pelt bristled. There could be many dangers here, so they should be careful. "Here, her scent leads through these bushes. And..it's pretty obvious someone was through here." He gestured towards a cluster of bushes with bright red berries on them. A destructive path led through them, leaving crushed branches and stained berry juice on the ground. It was as if the owner was in a hurry.
---
Minnowpaw sucked in a breath, and led the way. She crept along the path slowly, jumping when a crow called out.
SQQUUAAAKK!
Finchpaw jumped at the sound of the crows call. He saw Jaypaw bristling. This was bad. This was very bad.
They shouldn't be here. The gray tom almost turned tail and crossed back over the stream, until he remembered that Minnowpaw and Flintpaw were following behind him. He was trapped. The apprentice let out a wail.
~~~
"Quiet!" Snarled Flintpaw from the stepping stones. His brother would give them away!
"Too late for that." Hissed a voice from the brambles. A patrol of ThornClan warriors pushed through the bushes. "We have your friend. Thistlestar isn't too kind to invaders." One of the laughed
Flintpaw counted 6 in total. They were completely outnumbered, and out-skilled.

(Snip clip from the StormClan page, just so you remember!: ThornClan, the most vicious and ruthless of the four, was lead by Thistlestar, a great big white tom, with black ears, a black-tipped tail and silver eyes. Their deputy, Stonefoot, sad beside him, tall and proud. His green eyes blazed with respect, and his gray flank was rising up and down with each breath.)
(lol this is a reminder for me.)

Jaypaw glanced Finchpaw, alarmed. He began to hiss for him to be quiet before they were surrounded. It was like the Thornclan patrol had slipped out of the shadows. Panic flared in his amber eyes as they darted around, taking in the situation. Enemy clan. Surrounded. No way out. The dark brown tom took a step in front of Finchpaw protectively, ears flattening. "They have Dapplepaw." he growled under his breath.
---
Minnowpaw backed up quickly, keeping two tail lengths between her and the nearest Thornclan warrior. Her breath came out in short jagged spurts, tail lifting up in caution. The patrol formed a semi-circle around the apprentices, trapping them by the stepping stones. Thoughts raced in her head. 'Flintpaw and the two apprentices are closest to the stepping stones. If I can create a diversion, maybe...maybe they can escape.' The silver she-cat let out a shuddering sigh, trying to calm her racing heart. Then, she lifted her head, and calmly stared at the cat who had spoken. "Alright. We surrender. Take me to Thistlestar's camp." She was shaking now. "W-we're sorry that we intruded." Minnowpaw lashed her tail out, and hissed under her breath, "Go, now!"

Finchpaw was frozen in place. "B-b" he spattered. What do I do what do I do what do I do what do I do.
His brain was a bunch of jumbled up thoughts.
---
Flintpaw took his chance. As soon as his sister spoke the words, he snatched Finchpaw by the scruff and bounded towards the stepping stones.
---
Stonetail let out a mrrow of amusement as the apprentices tried to get away. He twitched his tail to the side, and his warriors jumped the two escaping toms, instantly pinning them down.
"Did you think we'd let you get away!" He laughed.
Afterall, he wasn't Thistlestars deputy for no reason.

Jaypaw let out a furious yowl, and leaped onto the nearest Thornclan warrior. His unskilled claws glanced easily off of the she-cat's pelt, and she snarled, pinning him to the ground in one quick motion. He seethed, digging his claws into the muddy ground.
---
Minnowpaw was knocked to the ground by a light grey tom with white spots. She thrashed under the tom's paws, slashing at his belly with her hind legs. The warrior hissed and leaped off, immediately rushing Minnowpaw again. She hesitated for a moment, but that led to her downfall. The warrior slammed into her, knocking her three tail lengths away. The silver apprentice coughed, struggling to get back to her feet, but the Thornclan cat placed a paw on her back, forcing her back down. She stole a glance at Flintpaw, despair seeping into her eyes.

Flintpaw was being pinned on his back by a dark ginger she-cat, who seemed in no hurry to leap off. She bent down and let out a hiss in his ear. "Thistlestar's gonna be happy that we caught Copperstar's kits." She snarked. He recognized the stocky cat from one of the gatherings he'd been to. He winced, realizing that she was right. All of StormClan's leaders' children were going to be held hostage.
~~~
Finchpaw whined as a black tom forced his claws into his muzzle. "Let us go!" The young apprentice cried helplessly. The warrior only responded by forcing Finchpaws' face into some mud, leaving the small cat sputtering for breath.
~~~
"Shardfoot. Keep the kit alive please." Said Stonetail rolling his eyes impatiently. "We won't get anywhere by offering Copperstar a dead apprentice!"
The black tom, Shardfoot, huffed, and let Finchpaw get some air.

Jaypaw let out a deep breath. What have they gotten themselves into? The Gathering was in one sunrise, and all of Copperstar's kits would be in Thornclan. He glanced around frantically, desperate for an escape route. Deflating, he realized they really were stuck. 'I can only pray to Starclan they'll let us off easy...'
The dark grey she-cat who was holding Jaypaw down flicked her ears impatiently. "Let's get to Thornclan camp." she growled. "They won't have any cats hidden in these woods, and this rain is soaking me to the bone!"
---
Minnowpaw still struggled to get to her feet, but the tom above her dug his claws into her back, letting out a low rumble of amusement. "Still has spirit to escape, huh?" he chuckled. Suddenly, a strange scent wafted over Minnowpaw's nose. It was rancid, and unlike anything she'd ever encountered. But Minnowpaw knew the scent of danger when she smelled it. She started thrashing wildly under the Thornclan warrior, eyes widening. Her voice grew to a screech, "Let us go! We're going to die!"

Flintpaw was worried when he saw his sister freaking out. "Minnowpaw, what's wro--"
The scent came upon him and he let out a screech. His wounds were still fresh from what those creatures had done to him...
"WOLVES!!" He cried helplessly.
---
Finchpaw wriggled under his attackers grasp. "What do you mean!" He yowled worriedly.
---
Shardfoot shot his deputy an unamused glance. "Right, right. Nice try, fools. I'm not falling for that trick again." He scoffed.
Suddenly he felt a huge force rip into his shoulder, and tear at his throat.
It was a giant, dog like creature, with massive jaws and razor sharp teeth. Blood seemed from Shardfoot's neck as the wolf killed him.

The she-cat holding Jaypaw down let out a curse and leaped off of him. His life was unimportant. She snarled, fur bristling, and charged at the wolf. One of the wolves, a grey one, threw her aside easily like a mouse. Her neck had snapped from the impact, and she fell to the ground with a thud.
Jaypaw stared in shock at the wolf as it towered over the cats. It's jaws were dripping with saliva and blood, it's wild yellow eyes had a feral look in them. 4 more wolves burst in after it, trampling the undergrowth with their huge paws. Soon, they were surrounded by a group of large, very dangerous wolves. Jaypaw let out a small squeak of terror. He was free now, but for some reason, he couldn't move. His legs were frozen with terror.
---
Ashfang, the grey tom with white spots stared at the wolves in disbelief. He turned to Stonetail, voice wavering a little. "What are these things? They killed Bristlefur and Shardfoot in one hit. I don't..I don't think we should stay here."
---
Minnowpaw took advantage of the Ashfang's distraction, and shoved upwards in one mighty burst of energy. Ashfang fell over, and struggled in the muddy ground as he scrambled to his feet. Minnowpaw swiftly darted over to Flintpaw, eyes wide with terror. "We need to get out of here. The stepping stones aren't far away. If we die here, we won't be able to save Dapplepaw!"

Stonefoot sprang to alert as creatures burst into the clearing, saliva dangling from their jaws. It was clear they were waiting for an order from the first wolf, their leader. He made a quick check of all the cats that were there right now. We caught the four apprentices, and I came with a patrol of five.. Shardfoot and Bristlefur are dead.. and we still have Ashfang, Turntail, and Waspeye...
Altogether, they outnumbered the creatures, but they were massive, and they could kill cats in one swish of a paw...
"Ashfang, we're going to die today." He muttered helplessly. Maybe a few of them would escape, but the wounds these creatures could inflict were horrible.
~~~
One of the four new wolves took his gray leaders place and jumped Finchpaw. The black wolf dug his sharp teeth into the gray cat's forearm, blood seeping around his muzzle as the dog tore through muscles. Finchpaw wailed in pain, as there was a sharp pop! from a dislocated shoulder.
~~~
The silver alpha gave a bark. "Be-ta Black. Release!" he howled. The black wolf stepped back. "Yes, Alph-augh Gra-ey." He said submissively. The gray cat that his beta had harmed was wailing on the ground, a horrible gash in his arm. He stared at the small cats. "I speak with your Alph-augh." He ordered.
~~~
Flintpaw scrambled toward his younger brother who scrabbled at the floor, his own wound from the day earlier seeming nothing compared to this. The young apprentices' arm hung at an awkward angle, bone in line of sight. He glanced at the horrible dog thing. "How could you do this to him!" He yowled, springing at the one who had harmed Finchpaw. The Black wolf flung him off easily, not intent to go against his leader's orders and wound another cat.
Ashfang scurried over to Stonetail's side, fear flickering in the depths of his brown eyes.
"No," he muttered, part to himself, part to Stonetail. "No. We don't have to die. We're not dying here to a bunch of mangy dog monsters." The tom glanced up at the pack of wolves, tail swishing nervously. "They said they wanted to speak to our al..pha? I-I'm assuming they mean our leader..which would be Thistlestar. The rational thing to do to save our pelts would be to lead them to camp to speak with Thistlestar...no, no..then we'll be putting everyone else in danger." He turned to Stonetail, despair starting to wash over him like a pitch black wave.
"Let's bring Thistlestar here."
---
Jaypaw stood frozen, staring at the scene unfolding in front of him. Wolves. Surrounding them. Killing two Thornclan warriors. He was frozen, frozen with fear. Fear that he never knew existed. It was only when the large black wolf leaped onto Finchpaw and wrenched his arm that he broke out of his stupor. They were...attacking Finchpaw. The wails of his wounded brother rose to the sky, and rage began to boil in his stomach. 'No one,' he thought, unsheathing his claws. 'No one hurts him like that!'
Before he knew what he was doing, Jaypaw leaped at a multicolored grey and yellow wolf, a screech of anger ripping violently through the air. The wolf looked at him, startled for a second, before batting him back to the ground. Jaypaw snarled and spat, trying again and again to at least land a scratch on the massive beast.
---
Minnowpaw let out a yelp of surprise, and made to restrain Jaypaw. She snatched him by the scruff and dug in hard until his struggles grew weaker.
"Stop!" she hissed under her breath. "You're not making anything better."
She eyed the wolves, a little surprised that she could understand what they were saying. They spoke in a rough, harsh way, but most of their words were understandable.
Flintpaw hovered over his younger brother protectively, glaring at that one black wolf. (THE GLARE)
~~~
Stonefoot nodded. He turned to the silver wolf. "We shall bring our Al-pha." The words felt weird on his tounge. "If you let one of us go get him." He added quickly.
~~~
Alpha Grey snarled. "Breeng Al-pha here, Cat Red." He ordered, flicking his bushy tail to a red cat. One, who he didn't know was a coward, scared out of his wits.
~~~
Stonefoot stared at the warrior who the leader wolf had selected. Out of all of them here, he just had to choose Turntail! His name was even that of a cowards.

(NOT THE GLAARRE) Jaypaw scowled at the pack of wolves, seething inwardly. 'I don't see how any good can come from this.' he thought bitterly.
---
Ashfang inwardly wilted. 'This is it,' he thought. 'We're all done for.' He glanced over at the scrawny red cat, who's fear scent was so thick you could almost see it.
"Don't ruin this." he hissed under his breath. "Go to Thistlestar, and bring him here like a good warrior, alright?" The grey spotted cat couldn't help patronizing Turntail. He was practically begging for it!
[ Would you like to rp Turntail, or shall I? ]

[ Aw don't you shreg at me young lady!! I guess I'll play him if tats ok. ]
Turntail let out a small whimper, cowering in the corner, trying not to be seen. It hadn't worked. The wolf had ordered him to bring Thistlestar, but he was only really concerned about his own life at the moment.
"Al-alright." he replied, voice almost a whisper. "I'll b-be back." Then, like his name suggested, he turned tail and ran. He ran, and he ran, and he ran. All the way back to the camp, noisily trampling undergrowth beneath his paws. His bright yellow eyes were wide open and full of terror. Turntail burst into the Thornclan camp, which was a large hollow in the side of a cliff. The cats milling around turned to him, curious and slightly alarmed at the commotion.
"W-wo-wolves!" he shrieked, fur bristled. "Wolves! Th-they're in the forest, and they want to talk to Thistlestar!" He lowered his quivering voice. "And Shardfoot and Bristlefur are...dead."

(Muhahaha the Running siblings) Sagerunner stuck her red tabby head out of the nursery when she heard her brother's voice. "Turntail? What do mean that Shardfoot is dead!" She cried helplessly. The four kittens that were resting peacefully let out a couple of wails at the loud voices.
~~~
Thistlestar appeared from behind a huge wall of... well, thistles. His silver eyes narrowed at the cowardly warrior trembling at the entrance of camp. The huge white tom flicked a black tipped ear toward him. "I heard my name."
Turntail clamped his jaws shut after he heard his sister's voice. 'Stupid me!' he cursed himself. 'I shouldn't have announced Shardfoot's death after Sagerunner just gave birth to his kits!' He started off towards the nursery to try to calm his sister, but flinched when Thistlestar appeared.
"Um, y-yes, the wolves, they have invaded the forest. They've surrounded our patrol, which have c-captured four Stormclan apprentices. Th-they want to speak to you!" The tom was speaking so quickly that hardly anyone could understand him. Turntail's paws started twitching with fear and impatience.
Thistlestar spat his disgust. "Fine. Take me to them." Ordered the large tom. He was on his 5th life. Not from age, but because of all the times he risked his life deep in battle. He wasn't exactly a new leader, but he was still a young cat. He knew how to fight, and wasn't afraid to.
Sagerunner numbly huddled back into the nursery, trying to calm her kittens. "It's all right little ones." She cooed, but the she-cat couldn't even believe her own words.
Turntail bobbed his head up and down in agreement, and shot out of camp. He ran at an urgent pace, but slow enough to show that he wasn't just racing off without Thistlestar. He kept sheathing and unsheathing his claws as he ran, eyes still containing a wild glint. The forest opened up to where the cats and wolves were still standing. He burst into the area, panting heavily.
"This-thistlestar," he grunted. "He-he's here."
Thistlestar glared at the big, giant dog creature thingy. "Yes, I am the leader of most of these cats." The white tom shot a glance at the captured apprentices.
Flintpaw glared back at the leader of ThornClan, then checked over his younger brother once more. His arm, now that Flintpaw had cleared the area, looked absolutely horrible. It was barely hanging on by a thread.
Turntail practically hid behind Ashfang, crouching down behind him in case any of the wolves tried anything. He squeezed his eyes shut and thought, 'Oh dear Starclan please let these...wolf thingys just go away already!'
---
Jaypaw crouched beside Finchpaw, lips curled in a snarl. If any of the wolves-or Thornclan cats for that matter-tried to lay a paw on his brother again, he would try his best to kill them. 'Why am I so useless!' he growled in his head. Granted, they had only been made apprentices today, but he should have done better! He stole a glance at Finchpaw, who was silent now. It looked as if he was going to pass out from blood loss any second. 'It may be for the best.' he thought. Poor Finchpaw must have been in so much pain. The brown tabby tom touched his nose to his brother's side reassuringly, almost as if he were saying that they would get though this horrible situation, that they would get out alive.
The alpha wolf gave a side glance Alpha Cat. "What for mean you most of cat?" He barked.
Thistlestar quickly rearranged the words in his head, trying to figure out what this dog wanted. It finally clicked. He wants to know what I mean by most of them. He gave a curt cough, cursing himself and his big mouth. "There are multiple leaders of the Cats." That would probably be the best way for him to understand.
Finchpaw weakly cast a glance down at the searing pain in his arm-- AHHHH!! He gave a weak screech. MY LEG! WHAT HAPPENED TO MY LEGGGG!?!?! Then he blacked out.
A ratty multicolored grey and sandy yellow she-wolf stepped forward, snapping her jaws. Her pale yellow eyes gleamed hungrily.
"Just kill. Doesn't matter anyway." she growled in a husky voice.
Jaypaw turned away after his brother passed out. At least he didn't have to feel so much pain anymore.
[ Wow very smooth Finchpaw ]
Alpha Gray turned around and lashed at the sandy wolf. "Hoosh, Hunter Yell-ough!" He snarled, his fangs clashing together in a warning bite against her ear. It was not her job to call the shots. "You no make decisions. Here we are for settlement of land!" The silver Alpha turned back to the Leader Cat "Bring other Cat Alpha now here!" He ordered angrily.
~~~
Thistlestar stared, dumbfounded at the massive wolf. If he thinks we can just call a giant clan meeting together, not under a full moons truce, it would be the perfect time to attack the other clans. If it meant getting the land that that wolf seemed so focused on, maybe they dog creatures would even help them against the other three clans...
~~~
The alpha flicked his tail at a brown cat, whose fur was bristling up every second he was here. It was Waspeye. The wolves, except for the alpha, jumped the small cat. In mere seconds Waspeye had been left as a whining bundle of fur, small cuts and teeth marks lining his body. He used this to his advantage. He used it as a threat. Alpha Gray scooped up the half-dead bundle of fur with his jaws. "This be all cat if all cat alp-as no here by sundown."
Hunter Yellow flinched away from her alpha's snapping jaws, a permanent grimace set on her face. She turned away, muttering to herself under her breath. "Settlement of land...don't matter. Kill all cats, more food." She trotted back to her place in the pack, shooting dirty looks at the clan cats.
---
Ashfang grew stiff, staring up at Waspeye. The wolves' message was clear here. They would all suffer worse injuries than his friend's, probably death. If all the clan leaders weren't in Thornclan by sundown, their clan would probably be wiped out. The grey tom lowered his head, refraining from shaking with terror. He cleared his throat as bravely as he could. "Thistlestar...I could help tell the clans."
Thistlestar bristled angrily. These wolves were killing all of his warriors! Soon, the whole clan would exist of only a few queens! Finally he replied to Ashfang. "Go get Robinstar and Quailtail of TorrentClan." he turned to Stonefoot, his own deputy. "Fetch Cloudstar and Willowblaze from StoneClan." Finally he looked at the small sliver and black apprentice. "Minnowpaw, go get your leader and deputy." His eyes flashed dismissively. "Make sure you bring the medicine cats also." The leader called loudly as Stonefoot started off. --- Stonefoot nodded. He flashed a look to the leader wolf, and ran towards the StoneClan border. He shook out his fur as he crossed the borders, earthy StoneClan scent passing in his nostrils. He traveled through the rocky soil, his feet-pads burning from the tough ground. Hopefully he'd make it there and back before sunhigh. --- Flintpaw flicked his tail towards his sister, signaling for her to go. "Tell them about Finchpaw!" He mouthed urgently. (I realized that like 3 of the deputies names were -tail (Stonetail,Quailtail,Willowtail) so I changed some hope you don't mind.)
