(I take it your school doesn't want to go back to virtual learning.
It contrasts one of my teachers, he decided to have one class a week virtual because he likes it lol)
"It would be a different story if you brought the sword to us in half. If that ever happens, we would have to re-forge it." She handed the sword off to Oliver, waving him to the back to get it set by her workspace. She then turned her attention to the scythe "This can be done today. If you want we can even teach you how to do this type of repair. The last part is fairly precise, but it could save you trips."
When handed the sword, Oliver gave a small nod and walked his way to the workstation towards the back. He was certain Jade was getting impatient outside, or she was getting some warm-up shots in. Either way she would have to wait a second because he had a new goal in mind before he went outside. "Could I take a crack at fixing their scythe? It would give you two time to work on their sword and other orders. I can even teach Lux" He looked between his parents and Lux to see their reactions. He was fairly confident in his skill. He would probably have to practice the last few steps on a spare piece of metal or wood, but that shouldn't add too much time to the repair.

(Not at all. Unfortunately I'm in a county that has a high amount of folks who just... don't believe in covid at all. I had a kid in my class who literally was supposed to be quarantined because they actively had covid
Also thats fantastic lmao)
Lux winces at that, glad that it wasn't broken in half, because they didn't want it reforged... not yet. They were proud of their work- and reforging it just didn't feel right to them. They brightened at the offer of learning how to fix the scythe- considering they used it more as a farming tool than a weapon, that was absolutely needed. It was going to be the most common issue with their blades, for the scythe at least. It was a well loved tool, and they were so proud that they were able to keep it in decent shape for awhile. It felt like an accomplishent- but the Scythe needed to stay in good condition so they finally had to bring it in.
They glanced over at Oliver when they heard the offer. They hadn't actually worked with this so-called god. Perhaps it was because he was trapped in that home of his with the sun god, not able to leave unless it was for some ceremony... or whatever else they needed from him. Lux didn't see how the gods could stand that- wouldn't they want to be out, using their powers to help their community? But this wasn't something he was going to push too much. "I wouldn't be opposed to that- you're not rusty with fixing things, are ya?" Eyes squinting teasingly as they took back their scythe gently.

(Ya it's kind of the same here. At least the town I am in doesn't really seem to care about it at all. Helps that I believe the cases in this town specifically are still really low. Like maybe single digits, but it could be getting a bit more at this point idk)
Oliver shook his head "I am confident in my abilities." While he was probably going to be slow at first, he was certain that once he got going, he would be able to pick it right back up. Plus, this wasn't the longest he's gone without practice, and he didn't struggle too much even with that. It helped that it was one of the first things he learned how to do when he was young. Oliver gathered a few tools and put them in a bag to be able to carry. He glanced around and found the next thing he was looking for. He was still also supposed to help Jade, and it would be better if he brought a bow with him to the back. "If you are done here..." He walked back towards Lux and his parents, gauging if they seemed done with the discussions about the sword. It seemed that they were, so he continued "We can head to the yard in the back." It was normally where weapons were tested by his parents or patrons, but Jade used it as well for training. "Wait, actually" Oliver went back again, searching around the workshop for just a second. When he returned he was carrying a damaged sword, not quite as beat up as Lux's scythe. It was one from a pile of weapons that one way or another belonged to his family. "Okay, you ready?"

(Ahh thats lucky that the town is really low for you. Our's in in the hundreds a day, we got close to a 200 positive case daily average)
Lux smiled at the confidence, nodding along amiably, shifting the scythe from one hand to the other as Oliver gathered a few tools while they talked with Olivers parents. They really didn't mind who fixed their scythe, as long as it was fixed and they could se how to do it, they were a happy camper. They chatted along for a short while, glancing over at Oliver when he spoke up once more, relaxed as they twirled their scythe once more. "Got it, the back yard. Want me to carry something? I can help," They offered, eyes crinkling up as they padded towards Oliver.
They had always found black smithing interesting, but considering their magic always allowed them to create their own weapons, they had never really thought they needed to learn the trade. It was only because they were particularly attached to the sword that they came here- and the scythe was just too good to try and remake again. Any other weapon they had they gladly remade with their magic, but these two were just... special.

(Dang, I'm sorry to hear that. Probably doesn't help with omnicom running around)
Oliver shifted things in his arms for a second, slinging the bag and the bow on his shoulder giving him both is arms to carry the sword and open the door. "I think I got it, thanks. It's not that hard to carry these things around, just a bit heavy" Thankfully the walk to the back was very short and he wouldn't have to deal with the weight for long. He moved to the side to let his parents pass to start working on Lux's sword so the two would have enough room to head to the door. Oliver gave a small wave to Lux to follow, opening the door in front of him to go out into the street. He turned to head towards the back where Jade was already doing practice shots. "Fix your back leg" Oliver said as he passed by, using his own foot to move it slightly "Let me see your stance" He continued, turning around as he passed Jade so he could watch her shoot. "Your arm is dropping just a bit, lift your elbow up...half an inch" When she fixed it, he told her to shoot. It was still off, but it seemed to be in a similar place to where the other arrows were sticking. Hopefully that meant she just was slacking for that shot. "Looks good, you want to do some moving targets after I fix Lux's scythe?" Jade glanced back to Oliver as he set down his tools and weapons next to a chair in the back and gave a quiet nod. She then went right back to practicing with the stationary target. "Okay. Step one find a chair." Oliver said to Lux, searching the area for a second chair for them.

(Not at all, I think it's finally burned out though. There weren't any sub requests today, at least,)
Lux frowned when Oliver insisted that he could carry everything- they wanted to at least be a little bit helpful. It looked like Oliver really knew how to juggle it all, though, so maybe Lux didn't need to actually help him much.
Plus, if he trip and fell, it would be his fault for not accepting help.
So no loss on Luxes part. Instead, they happily followed Oliver like some kind of puppy, smiling faintly as they took a peak at the street that Jade was practicing in. They were never great at weapons like arrows, so it was interesting to see someone practicing it. Personally, they didn't have the aim to be proficient at anything like this, and the few times they did get in a proper fight they found that close combat was the best.
Not that Lux was often in fights, but it never hurt to practice, and there were still a few times were they did have to fight anyways. They just... didn't make a habit out of it. They grinned when Oliver turned his attention back to them, liking the first step. "Sounds easy enough," They commented, searching the area as well, wandering around before brightening when they found a solid-enough chair.
A few things were piled on it, but that wouldn't be hard to move. They grabbed the stuff, pulling it off and placing it on the ground, before turning back to the left over chair. It was good enough for them,, it looked sturdy and it wasn't that dusty. "Found one! What's next?" They asked, dragging the chair over to Oliver, eager to learn how to do this fix .

(That's good, at least so you aren't overly busy as it sounded like you were)
(bleh my reply is a bit short, sorry)
Oliver sat himself down on the first chair, moving a few things around including putting the damaged sword closer to Lux. "For the sake of practice. Don't worry too much about messing up, but I would rather you do so on something that can be reused without too much worry" He went back to adjusting a few things in the bag he brought out, setting down a file next to the sword as well. He pulled one out for himself and pinned it under one of his legs for the time being. He then held his hand out to Lux for the Scythe "I'll show you a few things are are looking for when it comes to damage that needs to be repaired" He would go into more detail as he pointed out a few sections he would file down "Do you have a way to remove the handle? I can work both ways but it makes it just a little bit easier."

(okay sounds good ) Oliver had finished with repairing the scythe a while ago and had spent the last bit giving instruction to Lux. The scythe was placed to the side at the moment, and Oliver's tools were put away. They seemed to be picking it up well, and he hoped that they felt comfortable with the process. "Did you want to practice with anything else? I can check for another blade for you to practice on if you want." He offered, though really wasn't sure it was needed. Oliver glanced up towards Jade, she had been taking a break since she was itching to get working with the moving targets. Now she was back to her practice, though she was taking it a lot slower. Oliver felt a bit bad, but she would get plenty of time with him in a minute. He instead turned his eyes back towards Lux to show them that he was still paying attention.

(Hi, sorry, I had a busy week, I should be on more often now though!)
Lux was an alright enough student, but they struggled with following Olivers instructions. They were so used to the instantaneous results of their magic that they were a bit impatient. Yet.. this was also useful. Incredibly useful, even, and by the end of their session Lux felt confident enough to fix minor dents and chips in their scythe. They hummed at the offer, shaking their head, because they didn't want to take up more of Olivers time.
He didn't have much of it to begin with, considering the priests would be looking for him soon, and they didn't want to take up precious time he could be spending with family. "Not now, I don't want to take up any more of your time. You don' have much with them- do you?" They muse, looking over at Jade thoughtfully, because Lux didn't really understand why the two gods were under such strict supervision. If they had family, why wouldn't they be able to see them more?
The magic user reached forward, taking the scythe and looking over the blade, before summoning a small amount of magic. The scythe glowed with that soft, gold, aura once more before it disappeared without a trace. "Thank you, though, really," They grinned widely, eyes crinkling up warmly at Oliver, "I really didn't want to make a new one, I like how this one wields," Lux added brightly, happy to see that they could get it back in working shape.

Oliver thought for a moment about Lux's comment. He really wasn't sure how long he had, honestly he could just say he went out to one of the spots only he was allowed to go to. It was an easy lie to tell, it wasn't like the church could call him out. "I just have to be back at some point. Before late tonight, there is a ceremony tomorrow that I have to do" He said casually. He watched as Lux put the weapon away, trying to figure out what he was doing to be able to do that. He grumbled a bit in frustration when he didn't pick up anything new that he didn't see before "Glad to help" He was quick to say this, moving on to the next part just a quick "Weird question, but how do you do that? I have been trying for ages to do that." He was done trying to keep secrets around the person who could probably help him. At least it was no secret that the gods no longer bestowed weapons, so it isn't that big of a deal if he hints that he can't even summon them.

(Hi I'm so sorry for disappearing! It got crazy here lately and I found out I'm about to make a cross country move so it's been. A little wild. )
Lux looked over at him, eyes squinting as they assessed him curiously, tilting his head to one side when he explained that so casually. The ceremonies always sounded so boring, they could understand why he'd be trying o escape for just a little while. "Are you sure?" They asked, because the last thing they wanted was to take time away Oliver had with his family... especially with every responsibility Oliver already had.
Their eyes widened at the question, because really, Lux didn't know how to do that either. One day, they had imagined a little dagger to use as a child, and with a little bit of magic... it just appeared. And when they needed to hide it because they were too young to really have one? It just disappeared. Really, it was the easiest form of magic to them. It took nearly nothing out of them and they only started to get tired when they had summoned a ridiculous amount of them. "I'm not very sure. I just... imagine which weapon I want, and it appears. Smaller stuff is easier, but even the big weapons aren't that hard to summon. Taking them away is just as easy as imagining them disappearing. I've been doing this since I was little." They explained, demonstrating as the opened the palm of their hand, imagining said dagger that appeared in their palm in a swirl of warm, yellow light. It was clearly old and well used, and disappeared within an instant, glowing gold once more before disappearing in a flash.
(oooh should there be like. A specific weapon to Leto that Lux can summon? That makes it obvious the church didn't choose the right person to be the sun god?)

(Wow, good luck with the move. If you need to take a break then that's fine)
(I imagined that there was a sort of 'signature' weapon that they each had. I think a recurve bow for Zixuna that was made from a silver colored wood.)
"Yup, I'm sure. I will make more time with my family one way or another, it's pretty rare that I can meet someone who can summon weapons" Oliver tried to explain why he was okay with spending more time talking with Lux, hoping that would make sense. Oliver listened in a bit excitedly at the start, thinking he may be able to get it figured today. He was a bit dissapointed, not because Lux didn't know, but because it was already something that he had tried in the past. It was one of the first ways he attemtped to summon a weapon. Maybe he just needed to try with something smaller again? He wasn't sure, but they did say it was also simple for the larger weapons so he shouldn't have a reason to be struggling so much. "Ya, I tried that." He sighed, shaking his head a bit "I'm jealous, it's something I've been trying to do for ages and I fail every time. I even tried to make a throwing knife smaller than my hand, it didn't work" He leaned back a bit, trying to keep his frustrations under wrap "You make it look so easy, too."

(I'm guessing that Letos' would be some kind of sword- should it be the one Lux had first summoned? Or would Oliver had recognized it? )
Lux smiled at that, happy that Oliver was able to find time for his family, but that he still wanted to learn more about Luxes magic. Even if it was to learn more about how to summon weaponry. They found it interesting, that as much as he tired, he couldn't summon any weapons of his own. "Hmm... If I'm being honest, it's pretty easy for me to pull out my weapons, but magic is different for each person. I'm willing to bet whatever magic you can do won't be natural for me either. Maybe... try your favorite weapon, though? You know, something you have a better connection with? If not- it just might not be a type of magic you can use." They suggested, before pausing and looking at Oliver once more, squinting their eyes. "Wanna try right now? Maybe I can help with it if I see what you're doing exactly," The warlock explains, interested and wanting to help if they could .

(Probably, if you want it to be a mystery I can have Oliver not really remember what it looked like. However, if you want him to remember, then I can just have him be just confused all around.)
Oliver tried to think of a few weapons he should have a connection with. As Zixuna he should have a very strong connection to her bow, it was one of the weapons that she used very consistently. When he tried, he could imagine it very clearly like he could with any of the items he had today. He started to use one of his tools on the ground, mumbling to himself lightly as he drew out the bow. When he was finished, the drawing itself wasn't that impressive, but it was at least recognizable to him. "It takes a minute to be able to picture it fully" He felt like he had to explain himself a bit with a small laugh. He looked down at his hand, and back to his drawing for a second. His gaze went back and forth, trying to match what Lux had told him to do, hoping this would finally work. Not that he would blame them if it didn't. His own magic could be describe as a blueish silver, though further inspection people would notice a pure white core. He was trying to make Zixuna's bow, his bow if he could just manage to bring it out. He has used copies before, but never the actual thing. He just wanted the bow, he didn't care if it was in pieces. At least he would have succeeded. He spent most of his focus on picturing what it looked like in his head from any angles. All the moment that it was used, when it was resting on the ground, any moment. The rest of his focus was on trying to have it be in his hand. After a few agonizing minutes of attempts, the magic petered out, leaving nothing in it's place. Oliver let out a frustrated groan "I know I can do it" He said before Lux could dare suggest he wasn't able to pull off this magic "I was Zixuna for goodness sake, so I know I can do it" Why can't he do it now, though?

(Love the idea of him just being confused all around. What if he doesn't realize what the sword actually is until he's back and sees it in a book or painting? It would also explain Luxes attachment to it.Also let me know if Lux's sense of Olivers magic being untapped potential is wrong lol)
Lux was more than happy to watch Oliver as he drew the bow, even if that wasn't were they would start personally with it. Although, they did have quite the vivid imagination, and they had used this type of power so often and for so long that some of their favored weapons came to them so easily it was like breathing. Their sword, for example, they didn't even have to think much for it to be summoned for them. Very simple, and it used less energy than some of the other weapons they could summon. "Hmm," They hummed at the drawing, before watching intently as this supposed god summoned his own magic. It was almost like the opposite of Luxes, soft and blue, with some kind of silver mixed into it. A gorgeous aura, truly, and Lux stared at in it interest, waiting for something to happen but... well. Nothing happened outside of him actually being able to summon the magic.
Odd.
"Huh." They stated, tilting their head even further to the side, looking strikingly similar to a curious cat as they did so. "Well... Maybe it's a skill that has to be built up more? Can the other summon her own weapon? What about other magic? What have you learned to do so far?" Not really caring that they were listing off a ton of questions at once. It was odd- Lux could see the magic. God or not, Oliver had plenty of it to spare, but the thing was... it felt a lot more like untapped potential than honed magic. Waiting to be molded into it's best potential. Luxes fingers twitched at that, wanting to see more of the magic, sharpening it and making it useful. But- Oliver didn't ask for that kind of help, and likely had training with the priests with types of magic that they could never access.

(It is nice to have Oliver who is confident with the fact on who he was without being able to his abilities vs. Lux who isn't aware on who they were but can do more)
Oliver could tell that Lux couldn't figure out what was happenening, from their tone to their head tilt it was very clear. "This stays between us. You cant utter a word about this to anyone else." He started with this because he was about to speak on things he probably shouldn't. No, he definatly shouldn't. He really needed to just say that he can't tell them and leave it at that. However, he trusted them, even if he couldn't figure out why. "Victoria can't use any of her abilities. She's good at magic, but when it comes to any of Leto's abilities she can't do it yet." He sighed, his own frustrations that he can't help her being brought to the front of his mind. "The preists can't really help us all that much. They can teach us the basics but for the most part everyone in the church are going off of the same barely useful texts. I'm pretty much entirely self taught." The whole thing felt like a bad situation. The recent texts were filled with failures with very sparatic successes, while the older texts didn't help any more. Either text was missing or it was writen like he should already know how to do it and just talked about how to hone those abilities. He ended up having to pick up clues from both old and new to try to piece together how it works. "I am working on my healing abilities. I don't get a lot of practice but I won't complain too much about that" He let out a half-hearted laugh. "Also trying to figure out blessings. I managed to get it to work once in the past, but I haven't figured out exactly how. Kind of like your weapon summoning." He really wanted to leave notes for the future, so hopefully the next time he comes around he can figure out his magic a lot quicker. "With regular magic, I can do it, but I'm not even close to Victoria's skills."

(Yesss I love the dynamic. Also, I'm thinking, for the next scene where they see each other should it be at the temple? Like some public viewing or something? )
Oh, well this just got interesting.
It really only furthered Luxes belief that the current 'gods' weren't actually the reincarnations. Not that they would actually tell Oliver that, but it was clear that there was something wrong. This... Victoria couldn't summon any of Letos abilities despite her being able to control Magic in some way. Neither could Oliver, for that matter, it seemed. It was interesting- but not something that they could really push about. They weren't even really supposed to know about their issues with magic- so trying to convince the god that they weren't a god wasn't something that wold go over well. Instead, they let out a low whistle, because it wasn't really good news that neither of the gods on this earth could harness their powers. "Why don't the priests have that? You'd think the former you would have left something behind, to help with this. Magic is usually taught generationally, anyways, you'd think that it would be the same with the gods," Lux mused, running a hand through feather light blond haircut thinking it through.
They did chuckle at the mention of healing. So it did sound like Oliver had some control over his gods magic- just not completely. Like they felt before- untapped potential that the priests weren't even trying to hone. "I suppose that is a good thing. It means the kingdoms at peace," Lux agreed, before refocusing back on the blessings. That certainly was an important part of all of this. "What kind of blessing? What happened?" They asked, fascinated with this. "How do you two do blessings anyways? Does Victoria do them if she can't summon Letos' power?"

(Sounds good to me, maybe the start of the festival where people gather at the temple to Kickstart the whole thing?)
"There are some from the past few generations, notes written down to try to help the future. They aren't super useful...It's" Oliver paused rubbing his head, should he really be talking about this? He really didn't want to panic Lux with any of this information. However...they seemed to be doing okay with the idea that neither of the gods can do anything that they should be able to do. At least it seemed like it on the surface. Wait. Did that mean they already knew? How would they have found out? Or was it a suspicion of theirs? He took a second to look over Lux to try to get any indication on why they weren't freaking out over this new fact. "Sorry. It's just...you seem really calm about all of this. If I was in your position I wouldn't be nearly as calm as you are right now. I just told you that Zixuna and Leto can't do what they should be able to do, how can you be so calm about that?"
Oliver took a breath, trying to calm down his own nerves after he spoke "Wait, let me finish answering your questions first. You better answer mine, because I'm being honest with you." He didn't want to just blow off Lux's questions, especially when they were trying to help him figure out what was going on.
"The texts, they aren't very useful because they don't really explain how to actually do anything, so we have to piece together the facts. Even then it doesn't always work" Oliver wanted his own question answered quickly, so he spoke a bit faster now. "The blessing is difficult to explain. I really have no idea how it happened. It's actually Jade who got it, though I am not entirely sure if she realizes it herself. It's hard to tell her because I don't know what I actually blessed her with." He was rambling a bit, he needed to get back on track. "Three years ago she was at the church. When I asked her what she wanted to do, I was ready to hear that she wanted to inherit the smithy. She didn't say that. Instead she said she wanted to travel the world" Oliver was certain she never told their parents about this due to the fact she seemed to still be training to take over the smithy. At least if she did, it probably didn't end well. "She told me that she wanted to be able to share stories about new places. I knew she'd have to be really good at fighting if she wanted to convince our parents to let her go. I also wondered who would take on the smithy if she wasn't going to. It happened around that time? I guess? I can't put my finger on how I knew or what caused it, but I just knew?" The last bit Oliver's voice became more and more questioning as he slowed his speech down. He still wasn't sure what exactly happened in that moment. "I asked Victoria about it later, but she never had a similar experience before, and neither of us has had one like that since." Once he was done, he looked at Lux expectantly. He wasn't going to answer any more of their questions until he got an answer to his own.

(Okay, going with how Lux is in tune with their magic better but has No Clue they are a god, what if they've been going around this entire time just giving out blessing and had No Clue )
Ah, rats.
Looks like Lux was caught.
Not that they particularly cared if they were caught, because if Oliver asked, they wouldn't lie. Usually, they would keep their mouth shut about their theories and suspicions about Zixuna and Letos, but if it was the 'god' himself asking, he'd answer honestly. They opened their mouth, about to answer honestly, before closing their mouth when they were told not to speak just yet.
Oliver needed to finish his train of thought- and honestly this was just getting curiouser and curiouser. It really did sound like Oliver was able to bless one person- but was that really enough proof to say that Oliver was the reincarnation of Zixuna? Lux wasn't convinced. Their eyes squinted, still trying to solve this puzzle, wondering how he was able to bless his sibling but no one else. "...Fascinating, that it happened to your own sister. Perhaps its because you have a stronger bond with her than any of the other followers?" They suggested before straightening their back and looking Oliver dead in the eye.
"Personally, I don't fully believe that the gods have reincarnated. My theory has been that the reincarnations have been figureheads for years- if not generations. So you telling me this isn't much of a surprise. I'm not trying to say that you aren't who you are- but if you were Zixuna- or if you had her powers, why aren't they having you two involved more with the public? Even if you are- the way your roles are used now, it doesn't really matter one way or the other if you have their powers- or if you truly are rebirth gods." They shrugged, leaning down and picking up a stone, "But, that's my theory of all of it. There really isn't much skin off my back either way, so I don't particularly care." The magician responded honestly, completely relaxed as they looked back at Oliver with an odd expression. "If you truly are Zixuna, though, I hope that you get your magic figured out soon. I think you should try to study under someone who knows how to harness magic better than the priests in your temple." Giving a bit of unsolicited advice before chucking the stone as far as they could, watching in childlike delight as the rock made it over the roof of the building.

(I like that, maybe that can start rumors that the gods are giving blessings again kick starting a bit more into the plot of the third god where they think the pair are starting to grow and power again and need to start being a bit more aggressive in their plans)
Oliver was no longer enjoying this conversation. In an instant Lux had taken every doubt and worry in his mind and threw it right back at him. Instead of pretending nothing was wrong and that things were as they should be, he had to face the same doubts and questions that he had been wondering about for years. His brows furrowed, one may think he was angry and maybe he was, but he was trying to come to terms with these ideas in an instant. It was difficult to do. He was confident in having used to be Zixuna, there wasn't a doubt in his mind about that. His doubt came from Victoria and if she really was Leto. She didn't remember anything and there was this strange disconnect between how Oliver remembered Leto and how Victoria acts. It wouldn't be all that strange if it wasn't such a large difference in personality, even he didn't act exactly like Zixuna. She hadn't even once unintentionally used her abilities in the last 10 years either, which was at the very least strange. At worse it was proof that Leto wasn't beside him and maybe didn't exist in this generation. Could they have died already? Oliver really didn't want to Victoria not being Leto, let alone them being dead already. "I...can guarantee to you that I am Zixuna's reincarnation, even if you don't care about that. Even if you don't believe me." He spoke slowly, trying to keep his voice even despite him being anything but calm. "Jade's been waiting for a while. I should go help her." He was quicker there, pushing himself up and leaving the source of all his doubts at the moment. He knew he was running away from coming to terms with the idea that Victoria wasn't Leto, but today was not the day he wanted to think about that. "You wanted to try moving targets again today, right?" He asked Jade as he approached, watching her take a few more shots at the target.

(oooh I like that!!)
Ah... well. Oliver took that just about as well as Lux expected him to. Really, throwing that in someones face wasn't exactly polite, but Lux never saw the point in lying. Even if it were for the sake of someone elses feelings- what was the point of it if it would end up hurting someone in the long run? Here- if Oliver truly wasn't Zixuna, it would be better to plant that seed than to not. And if he was? Well- then Lux would simply be some @ss that insinuated that he wasn't. Really, Lux didn't care much if the gods were against him. They didn't follow Zixuna or Letos anyways- they found that the smaller deities were less demanding anyways- and if they insighted a gods wrath... well. Then their story here on this world would be short, wouldn't it? They blinked slowly at Oliver, completely unbothered at the defensive man before them, nodding. "Alright. I won't argue on that. You just asked why I wasn't very surprised- that is why. I'll still respect your own beliefs. I'm aware that mine are more... fringe, anyways." They responded, watching as Oliver made a quick escape, refocusing on his little sister.
Who was, in his defense, waiting and had been for awhile. The magician slowly pulled themselves off the wall they had been leaning on, giving Oliver a lazy wave as he retreated. "Fair enough. Well- it was a pleasure meeting you, Oliver. If you ever need any help- or have any questions- your family knows where to find me," They announced, before setting off.
Really, they had probably bothered Oliver enough, and they had zero intentions of pushing it any further than they already had. Not when Oliver had significant influence over many people. Truly a god or not- that didn't really matter, not when he had the attention and faith of the kingdom.
(Shall we skip?)

(Sounds good, did you want to go for the festival idea? Just double checking before I write up Oliver's stuff)

It has been a month since then. Between the upcoming festival, the increase in ceremonies, and him doubling down on his research on both older and newer texts, his schedule was packed. The last month was hectic, and it didn't help the fact that what Lux said stuck with him. At first Oliver was trying to ignore any thoughts about Victoria not being Leto. That was the part that stuck with him the most. He went from being able to ignore any of those fleeting ideas to having it refuse to leave in a single conversation. At the start, every time he saw Victoria, he would think things like 'others have noticed' and 'how can I say with confidence that she is Leto'. At least with those they weren't throwing logic at him constantly. That came the following week. Every time she acted differently than he remembered Leto being, every time he saw her fail in any of her abilities, and anytime he tried to get her to remember even important details his mind told him that was the proof. So Oliver started to avoid Victoria. He would still do his duties with her, but he stopped talking to her in an attempt to shut down how loud these thoughts were. He would study on his own and he would pick places that he knew she didn't know about to make sure he was alone. If he focused on proving without a shadow of a doubt that he was Zixuna, maybe that could work as a good enough distraction. For the next few weeks, he stopped doubting Victoria because he didn't think about her. He made a surprising amount of progress, not in being able to use his abilities but in actually starting to more clearly remember some scenes from not only Zixuna's life, but some memories of the first few lives. He was Zixuna then Emika, and then someone called him John. There was another one, but he never heard their birth name nor did he know where in the timeline it was, but he vaguely saw the inside of the temple and he somehow knew he wasn't any of the others he remembered.
When the first day of the festival arrived, Oliver vaguely wondered if Lux would be there. They didn't seem like they would care enough to come to the festival for the religious aspect but there were a lot of stalls and vendors of people trying to get better exposure to the public through the festival. Early in the morning, most of these vendors were already just outside the temple in a designated area; the closer to the temple they were, the more central they were to the festival. Right next to the temple, a couple of temporary smithies were set up. One belonged to his family; he was able to get them as the ones who would make the weapons for the mock fight. Oliver was currently there with Victoria in modified versions of their ceremonial robes. Ones that were easier to move around in for the first mock fight. They were speaking to Oliver's father about the weapons and making some last minute changes. It was strange talking to his parents like he didn't know them as their child; it was a feeling he would never come to terms with. He didn't like how extravagant his bow looked; it was wrong. In reality, it was a lot simpler. These intricate carvings and added details of metal and gem were not there on his bow. The sword for Leto looked strange as well; but he couldn't put his finger on why. After a while, they left the weapons to talk to the two, who were standing maybe a bit awkwardly next to the stall. While Oliver and Victoria would take part in the first and last mock battle of the festival, these two would be doing the bulk of them. It was an event that took place 4 times a day and the festival lasted a week. These two had to do 26 choreographed mock battles. At the end of it, they got to keep the weapons they used as thanks for their time. "Once again I would like to extend our gratitude for taking on this role" Oliver felt stiff saying this, but he had to "If you have any questions or concerns, Leto and I will gladly help where we can. You may also ask any questions to a nearby priest, they will be stationed in the area for the two of you" Victoria said a few other things. Oliver really didn't pay attention. He didn't want any further ideas that she wasn't Leto. The flurry didn't end; he was pulled around the area by the priests, people passing by, the two doing the mock battles, and his family to get things set up. More and more people arrived at the festival as the morning progressed towards the afternoon. Slowly, the sun rose higher in the sky as they got closer to the first mock battle of the festival.

Usually, Lux avoided the annual festival.
They weren't sure why- celebrations were things that Lux lived for. New Years, Birthdays, celebrations for the fall and spring. For all of them, Lux was there, eagerly participating and celebrating alongside everyone else. It was so much fun. Having everyone happy and laughing, it was something that brought life into Lux, but this celebration specifically?
Not one they enjoyed.
The first year living in this city they were excited to learn about this, having a festival that celebrated the two patron gods of this kingdom? As jaded as they were towards Leto- they couldn't help the excitement that coursed through them when they heard how many people came together for this event. They went in with high expectations- and at first they really did love it. Seeing all the vendors and all the families that came together was amazing.
Then the presentations started.
Where the two gods would 'fight' and for some reason it just felt... empty and wrong. There was something about it that just made Lux want to stamp their feet and scream that they were getting this all wrong. But that would make them look absolutely unhinged and they had no intentions of making a scene in their first month of the city. So, instead, they quietly watched and leaved as soon as they could.
Since then, they made themselves scarce during the celebrations, usually making some excuse to travel far off so it wouldn't look too suspicious. But this year was different. Really, after they parted with Oliver, they started to feel bad about springing their beliefs on him so abruptly. Of course their little conspiracy theory about the gods wouldn't be welcome- why would it?
It was a little unfair that they had said it so bluntly- and they wanted the chance to properly apologize. The only real chance they would have would be at the festival- so reluctantly they decided to pay it a visit once more... in which they remembered how fun the vendors and activities were. Really, when it wasn't the performances, the rest of it was fantastic. They even lost themselves within the festivities, buying from vendors and chatting with patrons that they often saw, it was only when the sun rose high to the sky that they realize that time had past and they had yet to actually see Oliver.
Eventually they wandered closer to the arena- delighted to see that Olivers family was there. They were impressed by the craftsmanship that the family had displayed- Luxes sword had been fixed to perfection. Really, they couldn't find any hint that their sword had been damaged at all. They payed the family exorbantly for the fix- and seeing that they would get more attention by being at the festival was a wonderful discovery.
But... Oliver wasn't with is family, not anymore at least, so they wandered closer to where the mock battle actually was. It wouldn't be too hard to find Oliver, right? The excited whispers of the people about seeing a god would make it easy enough. They let out a tiny sigh, arms behind their neck as they meandered about, slowly getting closer to where the mock battle would be.
It was a warm day out- they couldn't imagine fighting in this weather, personally and they were glad they could find some summer robes to wear. They were a soft cream color, accented with yellow and a bit of orange, a gift from a local seamstress after some help they had given her a year back. Accompanying that were long, dangly earrings the color of the sun and golden cuffs around the top of their ears, with a few necklaces adorned with topaz to accompany it. Really, they didn't usually go this far when it came to dress, but it was a festival and they thought they might as well celebrate somehow.
And, as much as they enjoyed talking with Oliver, they loved the day more than the night, so they decided that dressing up to celebrate Leto would be more appropriate.
(If you want, this type of attire could be something similar to what Leto often wears in Olivers memories!)

Oliver stopped a few steps from the center of the arena, Victoria just opposite of him. It was quiet around them, except for a few excited kids trying to get to a better spot and a couple of whispers between friends and family. Oliver scanned the audience, still half searching for Lux, but didn't have any luck. It was very possible that they just didn't show up today, maybe he would see them at the end of the week? "I am very glad to see you all in good health" He spoke up, which quieted any further conversations from continuing. "I must request you don't get too close, both Leto and I would be extremely sad if any of you got hurt today because of us." Too stiff, but there was no helping the formalities of the festival. At least it was a warning rather than just random pleasantries. He turned to Victoria, who was holding the replica sword in the wrong hand. Nope, don't think that. He had to make it through at least this fight without putting a barrier between Leto and Victoria.
She moved first, it was designed that way, Oliver would be spending the first part 'reacting' to her movements while trying to keep his distance. Victoria swung her sword towards his neck, it was planned but still terrifying. Oliver quickly ducked out of the way and took quick dance-like steps behind her. She was quick to turn as well, bringing the sword around to thrust it forward. As if that was what he wanted, Oliver leaped back and with a swift movement notched and arrow to let it loose towards Victoria. He had to aim it precisely that even as she stepped out of the way, it wouldn't put any of the people around them in danger. Sometimes he wondered if the people took that type of skill for granted, it certainly wasn't the easiest to do and one wrong move could cause them to panic. The arrows weren't lethal, magic was used on a blunt arrow to slow their speed as they approached any solid object. Even so they would still hurt if it hit someone. It was best to treat them as if they were lethal. This went on for a while, Oliver trying to stay away from Victoria while she tried to close the distance.
All the while, Oliver scanned the crowd, still curious on if Lux was there. Towards the end of the fight, he had almost given up but he finally spotted them. So he did show up, took long enough to be able to see him in the crowd. The outfit suited him. In that moment he felt a shift in the air around him, oh ya, he had to finish the fight. He didn't have time to do what was actually planned, so instead he ducked away and swept his leg under her's. She ended up staggering slightly back, shooting a bit of a glare his direction. Before Oliver could even mouth a 'sorry' she was moving again, continuing with what was supposed to happen. It was probably some form of revenge for his sudden movement.
After a few more minutes, it was over. Oliver had a dulled blade lightly touching his neck where Victoria was left with a fully drawn bow just far enough for the arrow to be fully loosed. It would be dangerous if the weapons were real. The pair was still for just a second, but after letting out a breath, they both relaxed and stood back at their starting positions.
"While we may fight in front of you today, I want to assure you that our relationship is as strong as it has been in the past." Victoria spoke up, quickly recovering her breath. Oliver could hear her mutter something that he was certain was a dig at him for his...stunt earlier. "To assure you further, we shall have others take our place for the next week. They were handpicked so treat them well."
As the second pair approached, Oliver turned to face the one who would be taking his place. She looked nervous, almost more so about the bow she was about to take from him than the act of standing next to him. "Why so stiff? I'm just giving the bow to it's owner" He hushed his tone a bit so he could speak a bit more comfortably. He had to force himself to keep his smile softer instead of grinning a bit as he spoke. That seemed to make them less nervous as they finally took the bow from him.
The formalities were quickly handled after that, Oliver and Victoria left the center, leaving the two with the weapons remaining for a few of their own remarks. Oliver spent a moment debating about if he should call out to Lux first. They probably came to the festival to enjoy it rather than being bothered by him, but the more he thought about it, the more bothered he was. Lux hadn't really done anything wrong before he reacted the way he did. Hindsight told him that he did get angry in that moment, and it was possible that they noticed his anger far before he did. Were they the type to really worry about that? They treated him normally, and even spoke honestly.
As Oliver thought there was that moment where things really clicked for him. He had practically demanded they be honest about something they likely didn't speak about. Regardless on how he felt about their theory, it was unfair. "There is someone who was in the crowd." He told a priest, quickly describing what Lux looked like "Make sure they come to the temple some time this week" He couldn't exactly abandon his duties today, he had an obligation not just to Victoria but to the people who were inevitably going to follow them to the temple. He watched as the priest disappeared into the crowd, hopefully they would find their way.
Not much he could do at this point, for now he would just have to hope that Lux wouldn't avoid him.
(idea is Oliver will be chilling in the room where ceremonies are held where ppl can go see him and Leto)
