"Most likely." She responded, turning to look out as well, "but they need oxygen as much as any other dragon." Aoife sighed, brushing sand over the fire to snuff it. "We should keep moving. I can't fly with you right now, but if your camp is coming after us, then we shouldn't linger any longer." She sighed and stood again, stretching out.

Aarow nodded, finishing the food he'd been given before burying the remains under the sand. "Alright, which direction do you think we should go, then?" He asked, hoping she knew what was where better than he did. He'd only seen a few maps, but they'd been written all over with reports of dragons and calculations of where the dragons might end up.

Aoife looked at him curiously. "It may be a good idea to head towards the geysers. You can't navigate them unless you can fly and rarely do humans ever survive crossing them. It's where one of the biggest nests of dragons remain." She sighed again, "I fear, if I do, however, I could be leading the very last of my kind into a slaughter, should your camp follow us that far."

Aarow hestitaed, thinking this over. "Perhaps we should go a different direction for now. Walk and leave a trail that they can follow away from the nest, then when you can fly again, we can double back over the water where no one will see what direction we go." He suggested. Maybe they'd get lucky and find a boat or something so they could keep out of the sky and avoid attention? No one would say anything about a boat on the water. That was normal.
He paused as another thought caught up to him. "Wait, are you sure the other dragons would want me around? I mean, even if I never actually hurt a dragon and I helped you, I'm still technically part of the people that hurt them."

Aoife considered this for a moment for nodding. She ran a hand through her hair for a moment, before shrugging. "There are some humans who are for our cause." She explained, moving up to climb onto the grass from the sand, she turned around staring at him. "Dragons can read a lot of things, they can read intent and a person's willing to hurt. When they're hurt themselves, they can't, hence why I was concerned when you came into my cell. When you helped me, I knew that you weren't bad. It's why I grabbed that woman when they were going to take you away. I didn't want you to get hurt when I had the chance to save you."

(overslept...)
Aarow listened quietly, giving a small nod as she spoke. "Thank you for that." He replied quietly. He was still a little wary of walking into a dragon nest. No human family had wanted him around before, why should it change with dragons? He supposed for now that he should just trust the dragon's word and let her lead. "Well, I guess lead on whenever you're all set."

After a few hours of walking, a human man dressed in dragon leather tunic burst out of the bushes, waving his sword towards Aarow. He was sneering, at him, eyes wide and wild. Aoife stepped in front of him and he started crying. He dropped his sword and embraced her tightly, sobbing on her shoulder. She patted his back. "I'm okay, Ester, I'm okay."

Aarow let out a sound that was something close to a yelp, but much more contained. He was so used to being quiet he didn't seem capable of raising his voice. He'd completely forgotten that he himself carried a blade too, so he didn't draw it, only retreating back a few paces with a wary eye on the stranger. He watched the interaction between the dragon and the man, but he kept quiet, not speaking or interrupting.

The man murmured something to Aoife and she patted his back. "Hey, hey it's okay." She murmured patting his cheek. "He helped me." The man nodded and stepped over to Aarow, offering him a hand.
"Sorry mate. I'm not used to seeing humans hanging out with dragons. This one in particular." He still seemed slightly shaken, but he was playing it off. "The name's Ester. Pleasure."

Aarow still flinched back a bit, his eyes going to the man's hand. He couldn't help it, but he just couldn't bring himself to trust the man yet. "Aarow." He introduced himself slowly. He wasn't certain what else to say so he fell quiet, he eyes going from the man to the dragon, then back to the man.

Ester wiggled his hand a bit before dropping it to his side. He glanced back at Aoife and she shrugged. "We have a small camp set up over here, if you wanted more to eat. Alya found a wild cow. She wasn't going to touch it until we heard ... or well, didn't hear from you." He gave a half grin as her eyes lit up.
"Do you mind, Aarow?" Aoife asked softly, looking over at him. "We can trust these people. I grew up with Ester ... technically."

Aarow gave a small shake of his head. "No, it's fine. Lead on." He replied quietly. He kept his distance from the two only out of caution. He didn't mean to be distrustful, but he was still a little unsettled by the surprise attack.

Aoife dropped back to walk with Aarow. "Sorry about that." She told him under her breath. "Ester is a bit annoying when he's swinging his blade around, but he really doesn't mean any harm."

Aarow shook his head slightly, though he still kept himself fairly withdrawn. "No, I understand his suspicion." He replied, starting to look around the area as they walked. He realized he was still in his military uniform, and that was probably what had made the man so keen on attacking. He should probably get rid of it soon, he decided.
