Aarow stopped in his tracks when he saw the dragon glare at him, but his fear subsided slightly as he looked at the pitiful condition she'd fallen into. He looked from the dragon to the nets on the floor before slowly moving forward and pulling the nets through the cage bars and setting them in a pile. As he handled the equipment, the dragon's blood rubbed off on his gloves and he stopped again. This seemed like a lot, even for a dragon... Whatever they were planning to do with her, she might not live long enough to see it in this condition.
He cautiously took the cell key off the wall and approached the cell. With another look at the dragon, he opened the cell door and closed it behind him. He was hesitant to try to approach her, but aside from her concerning injuries, he had other orders.

Aoife shifted so that she was staring directly at him. She had taken her pants off to wrap them around her wound. She was a dragon, covered in scales. She had no modesty to care about and only wore them out of habit more than anything. She growled lowly from behind her muzzle. She moved to stand but faltered slightly. She winced again at how weak she actually looked.

Aarow stayed where he was standing, uncertain how to approach the situation. She clearly didn't want him here, or for herself to be here either, but she was so hurt. If the situation had been reversed, he didn't think he'd be able to hold a brave face. He probably would have broken and plead for at least something to stop the bleeding.
That thought in mind, he slowly reached down to one of the pockets on his pants and opened it, removing a small roll of bandages and medical tape. He held it up, showing it to the dragon. The scout and Commander might not like it, but if they wanted something from her, they wouldn't get it if she died. "Easy, okay? I'm not..." He couldn't say that he wasn't going to hurt her. She wouldn't buy that for a second. "I'm not here for trouble."

Aoife's eyes flickered to the roll of bandages, and she eyed him distrustfully but winced again and backed down a bit. She folded her wings behind her back and moved to sit down again. She let out a quiet puff of pain. She still eyed him distrustfully, but soon looked away.

Aarow slowly took a few steps forward, starting to unroll the bandages as he got closer. He knelt down only a few feet from her, pausing again before he started moving the cloth out of the way of the wound. He winced a bit upon seeing it. Their trap had done this to her? It looked terrible. And she'd still been able to flee and put up a struggle to avoid begin taken in. It was admirable.
And here they had her muzzled and caged, curled in a pool of her own blood. It hurt his heart to think that this was what she'd been reduced to. He moved the end of the bandage just before her wound and began to wrap the injury, keeping the bandage taunt but not too tight. This was the one part of his training he'd picked up on quickly.

Aoife watched him cautiously as he worked, and when he was finished, she already felt better than she had before. Not stronger in the least, but better in the sense that she was no longer bleeding out. Aoife took Aarow in cautiously, studying his face, his features and how he moved. She looked over to where she had come from and bowed her head to him in thanks. She was unaware if he knew how hard it was to get a dragon to bow of their own accord.
She lifted her head again and eyed him, her gaze cautious and calculating once again.

Aarow was left without any bandages left to put back in his pocket, but he ended up placing his hands into his pockets anyways, still shy about interacting with anyone. He was curious about her, about everyone said about dragons and what was true and what was lies, but he doubted the Commander would be asking the questions he had in mind.
He returned her gesture with a small dip of his own head, looking back at the door briefly. He was still supposed to handcuff her, and he knew the scout's threat was not an empty one. He feared getting himself in further trouble by disobeying orders, but it still felt so wrong to cuff her after wrapping her injuries. She didn't seem all that bad. If she'd really wanted to hurt them, wouldn't she have done something by now?
He turned his head back to the dragon, trying to get a better look at the muzzled. The mechanic that kept it closed and tight was a little unusual, and he wasn't certain how to loosen it without completely removing it. That would definitely get him in trouble, but the damage on her muzzle was already apparent. It would only get worse if he left it like this. She probably didn't want his hands anywhere near her face, either.

I think I'm going to sleep after this. I'm v tired. --
Aoife watched him curiously. She didn't know much about humans, and the few that she did know where evil and probably wanted her dead. But not this one. This one was awkward and strange and not at all like the others and it confused her. She had been raised in a community where it was kill or be killed. She had never killed a human before, having always ran if she had the chance. It had not been one this time.
She let out a small huff, reaching up to wipe away the blood that dribbled down the side of her mouth from the muzzle. It still burned and she was still in pain from it, but it didn't bother her as much as it first had. She eyed him carefully as she shifted to curl under her wings again.

(alright, sleep well.)
Aarow took her recoiling as a sign she didn't want him here anymore. He started to move backward slowly, but he stopped as the door to the stockades swung open and the scout entered with the Commander of the base, and angry looking-woman who Aarow had only seen once or twice before. As far as he remembered, she was always scowling.
"Why isn't that animal restrained yet?" She snapped at Aarow. He froze up, uncertain of how to answer. Before he could try to respond, she looked over the dragon before narrowing her eyes. "Who ordered its wounds treated?" She demanded.
"No one." The scout answered, beginning to glare at Aarow.
He froze up, uncertain what he was supposed to do now.

I'm in bed now and i'm loving this roleplay so much.
Aoife stood up shakily and moved over to the bars. She didn't touch them, but her moving away from her corner showed just how much blood she had lost from behing struck by the trap. She glared at the three of them through the bars, lip curled around the muzzle.

(Same, niiiight!)
"You should know better than to waste medical supplies on the enemy, especially on one that won't live more than a few hours." The Commander commented. With a slight gesture of her hand, she waved the scout forward. "Escort him out and make sure he realizes the value of what equipment he's lucky to have. I'll deal with this... mess." She mumbled, turning her gaze to the imprisoned dragon. She had received a full report from the scout, though she highly doubted this dragon been out by herself. There had to be more nearby, and she meant to find them by any means necessary.
The scout gave a nod, moving forward and reaching for Aarow. He paled quickly, retreating backward to avoid his hand.

(This has a little bit of power play,mI hope that it's okay. If not i can rewrite tomorrowh
Aoife's eyes flicked over to Aarow and she turned back to this new woman. If she came just a bit closer... Yes! Aoife darted one claw out through the bars, burning her arm something terrible. She grabbed into the sleeve of the woman and yanked her - with much less strethc than she normally would have - over to the bar. With the same arm she wrapped it around the womans throat and glared at the scout. The message should be clear.
Aoife couldnr hold onto this for very long. It was a struggle even standing upright and the bars on the cage were draining her something bad. She just hoped that this human who had been kind to her would not get into trouble for doing exactly what she was protecting him for.

(Whoo I'm back! Got some hw to catch up on though.)
Both the scout and Aarow stopped and stared at the dragon and the Commander, uncertain what to do now. The Commander's scowl only deepened at their hesitation and confusion. Her hands were still free, and she intended to make use of them. "We'll deal with his insubordination later. We have a dragon to interrogate." She looped one hand around the beast's wrist to loosen her grip slightly, and the other went for her knife. She drew it and swung the hilt though the bars at the dragon's injured side. Of course she was swinging blind, she couldn't see where the wound was like this, but she had a general idea where to strike.
The scout gave a small nod, realizing even if he left Aarow for a time, he really didn't have anywhere to go besides the barracks, and there was practically no where to hide that other soldiers didn't know about. He gave the boy a sharp shove into one of the open cells and slammed the door before going over to help the Commander free herself. Aarow's complexion stayed pale as he realized he was now trapped here and he'd have to witness whatever they were about to do next.

Aoife fell back when the Commander tried striking her. The blade only ripped away the bandages and caused a small cut, but nothing as serious as the cut from the trap. She snarled quietly, shuffling away to the back of the cage. Aoife felt that if she tried to turn now, she wouldn't be given another chance - she was going to die anyway, so why let them take her true form when they could have this one. She glared fiercely at the Commander, lip curled around the iron bars.
Briefly, and for half a second, her eyes flicked over to Aarow. He had helped her, at the risk of his own life. She was thankful for that and didn't want anything too serious to happen to him. Her eyes returned to the Commander and she snarled again.

Aarow took a number of steps backwards, still watching the other soldiers nervously. He felt the bars of the cage tap his back as he bumped into edge and he stopped there. He was still afraid, but it wasn't just for himself. He didn't want to see what they intended to do.
"Cuff her properly, like she was supposed to be." The Commander ordered the scout, passing him her copy of the cell key. The scout obeyed, taking the key and opening the cell. He took the pair of cuffs from his belt - they were on the same loop his own muzzle was stored on - and he approached the dragon, his free hand going for her wrist.

Aoife's gaze flashed over to the scout and she snarled at him. She tried to pull her wrist from his grip as he took it, but the moment it was within iron, she was unable to pull away. She snarled again, trying her best to rip his grip away. She so, so, so wanted to shift forms right now, but she refused to let them take her skull, which she knew they would.

Once he had one hand, he clasped it between the iron trapping and took her other hand, closing it in the opposite ring before letting her hands go. The Commander entered the cell next, standing with her back straight and her eyes narrowed as she looked over the dragon. "Loosen the muzzle enough for her to speak." She ordered.
Again, the scout obeyed, moving the muzzle lock down by two notches then releasing her head. He next drew his weapon, ready for if she tried to attack. Or if she refused to answer.
"First question, what were you doing in the ruins?" The Commander demanded.

Aoife just stared straight at the Commander, she didn't speak to answer her question. She raised her head slightly to show that she wasn't afraid.

(Its fine~ No worries.)
The Commander waited a moment before she bent forward, placing her face only a few inches from the dragon's. "What were you doing in the ruins?" She repeated, speaking slower this time. The scout next to her moved around back of her to the opposite side where he had a clear reach to the dragon.

Aoife bared her teeth at her. Even though her reason was meek - she was only looking for food! But she didn't give in to intimidation. She didn't give into humans who wanted to wipe her race across the earth.

The Commander waited another moment before looking at the scout from the corner of her eyes. Taking this as approval, he swung, striking the dragon near the base of her horns with the hilt of his blade.
Aarow flinched sharply, turning his gaze to the floor. He didn't want to be anywhere near here.

Aoife let out a roar of pain and tried to list her cuffed hands to cup the spot but with no avail. She snarled, eyes growing darker as she continued to glare at the Commander. Her hands clenched into fists. "You want to know why I was in the ruins yes?" Unlike when she had spoken before, her words were heavily accented with an Irish lit. "I am a scout. There are many, many more dragons coming and they will burn this place to the ground." She was lying through her teeth, she had not seen another dragon for years. "My capture and death will fuel the fire that kills all of you." She curled her lip up again a snarl on her face.

The Commander narrowed her eyes further. Another look to the scout brought another strike, this one near the base of her wing. "Then where are these other dragons? Tell me their numbers and location." The Commander demanded.
Aarow's eyes lifted a bit when she said there were more dragons in the area. If they were all the same size as she was, it wasn't unbelievable. He saw the scout strike her again, and again he flinched.

Aoife growled again and turned her head as it to strike the scout. She remained silent. She turned her head back to the Commander, sneering at her.

The Commander didn't wait or repeat herself. She stood straight again, starting to head out of the cell. "Use the bladed end this time." She hissed to the scout. "Slice until she gives answers." She ordered, closing the cell door behind her and walking out of the stockade.
Aarow lifted his head at that, his face losing all the remaining color. He didn't want to witness this. The dragon wouldn't give an answer, not as far as he could tell.
The scout waited for her to leave before turning the blade and lifting it again, winding for a heavy strike. He brought the blade down, aiming for the wound already present on her side. Without realizing what he was doing, Aarow lifted his hands and for the first time since the war had started, he used his power, coating the dragon in a thin shield of blue light. The blade bounced off harmlessly, but the strike had cracked the shield. It wouldn't hold against many more strikes like that.
The scout gave a startled, confused expression, turning his head back to look at Aarow.

Aoife flinched when she saw that the blade come down. She opened her eyes when she heard the blade bounce off. She turned her head over to look at Aarow, and she bit down on the muzzle and she turned on the scout, changing into her other form as she did. It was much larger and almost didn't fit in the cage. She was still muzzled and unable to bite or use her breath attack. She snarled and swung her big tail at the scout.

Aarow wasn't able to hold the shield as her form changed and the light dispelled. He stumbled back, only pressing harder against the wall of the cage upon seeing her change shape. She wasn't as big as the stories claimed, no, but it was still terrifying to see.
The scout let out a loud grunt as he was forced back into the bars, but he lifted his sword, ready to defend and fight in what little space remained.

More blood dripped down her cheeks, the muzzle pulled at her skin moreso now that she was bigger. She didn't want to kill this man, but if it came to it, she would. She swung her head toward him, trying to knock him out. Hopefully, anyway.
