"Thank you," she said with a smile, wishing she felt as strong as Phallon made her seem. Still, she did feel like she was doing better. "I'm just so lucky to have people like you in my life right now. Plus, the kids do really love Auntie Phallon." "Hey now, what about Uncle Vinny?" said Vince with a grin as he joined the two women. "I'm pretty sure the kids told me they like Uncle Vinny better than Auntie Pahllon," he joked, quickly giving Tavica a hug before sitting down. "Well hello to you too," Tavica said with a laugh.

"Yeah, yeah, just keep telling yourself that," Vince said, waving off her comments with a hand. The waiter took that as a signal that he wanted to order something and came over to take his order. Vince was not ready, however, and ended up just ordering the first thing he saw on the menu. "Oh shut up, you know I don't do well under pressure," he said to Tavica, who was trying - and not succeeding- to hide her laughter at how flustered he'd become.
Being around her two closest friends always put Tavica in good spirits. Turning back to Phallon, she said, "I believe you mentioned you had a date last Friday. Did you really think I wouldn't want to hear the details?" she teased, grinning at her friend.

(Thanks! I haven't been near as out of it as I thought I would be, haha. Apparently the painkillers don't have as much of an effect on me. My brother (who had them out at the same time as me) has basically been asleep for the last day and a half because they make him so sleepy xD)
Tavica laughed. "Well, if you want to save that for a girl's night, that's fine," she said. She knew Vince would never let her hear the end of it if had really been that bad, and even though she'd known Vince longer, she wanted to take Phallon's side on this one. It was so funny to see Vince with Phallon, because he was almost a completely different person around her. Normally he was quiet and didn't say much, but not with Phallon. Her guess was that Vince had learned that she would tease him relentlessly weather or not he fired back, so he'd learned to play her game too. "Oh come on, I want to hear too!" Vince protested, grinning at Phallon. "I am not getting in the middle of this one," Tavica said, leaning back and putting her hands up to make her point.

(Haha yeah, I was hopeful too and I put it off for a while but they eventually decided It should be done. It's not too bad. At least it hasn't been so far, haha.)
"Pffff as if I'd want to understand," Vince scoffed. Just then the waiter arrived with his drink. He'd obviously heard only part of the conversation and thought Vince and Phallon were actually upset with each other because he gave them a somewhat concerned look and then hurried off. This caused Tavica to burst out laughing and Vince couldn't help a chuckle as well. "Well, here's to hoping they don't kick us out now," Vince said, raising his glass to the other two. Tavica laughed and shook her head. "Oh, sorry to change topics, but Chris's parents are coming out in a few weeks for the memorial service," she told her friends. Chris had grown up in England but had come to college in the US where he and Tavica had met. His parents still lived in the UK, so she'd wanted to make sure they could be there for the service.

(It can never hurt to be hopeful!)
“If I know them, they’ve already got a hotel,” Tavica replied with a smile. Chris’s parents loved travel and even if it was something as simple as visiting her and their grandchildren, they spared no expense. “If Rory would still like the company, I’m sure the kids would be willing to sacrifice some play time to come visit.” James in particular loved Rory. He loved any animal, really, but Rory was easily his favorite.
(Ok I think I’ve covered everything important, so I’m good with changing scenes whenever you feel like you’re ready!)

“I’m sure they’d love that,” Tavica said, brushing a strand of hair out of her face. In the motion she caught a glimpse of her watch. “Oh, it got late quick,” she mused, pulling out her phone to see if Mark had texted. “I’d better go rescue my brother from the kids,” she told her friends, glancing between Vince and Phallon. “Maybe I’ll see you before next Tuesday.” With that, she stood, hugged each of her friends in turn and then headed out to her car.
Vince turned to Phallon once Tavica had left. “So I’m thinking it might be good for all of us - meaning you, me, Tav, and the kids- to go on a vacation together once everything has settled down,” he told her, waiting to see what she though of the idea. It might be a bit of a logistical challenge to coordinate, but between him and Phallon, there would always be someone to watch the kids if Tav needed to get away for a little while. As much as he knew she loved them, three young kids could be overwhelming.

Vince shrugged. “As soon as we can get it all organized I’d say. Realistically that won’t be for a few weeks, especially if we don’t want to spend ridiculous amounts of money on plane tickets and all that.” He took another sip of his drink, thinking for a moment. “What do you think she would like best? I know Tav loves the mountains, but I think the beach would be something different, especially for the kids. I don’t think Tav and Chris ever had the chance to go to the beach as a family.”
(What do you think, beach or mountains? I’m torn. I went to Hawaii for the first time over spring break so I’m kind of tempted to say beach, but I don’t know. I love the mountains too, haha.)

(It was super cool! My family have always been more mountain people, so it was fun to do something completely different. Good point on the kids xD)
“I think I know how to get her to say yes,” Vince said with a grin. “We just have to bring it up when John and Elena (Chris’ parents) are around. They’ll never let her say no and deny the kids the experience.” John and Elena were just the kind of grandparents any young child would want to have. They spoiled those kids to no end.

(Haha exactly)
“I bet you’re right,” Vince agreed. “Sounds like a plan. Well, I probably ought to get going. Emma (his cat xD) is going to be mad at me for feeding her so late. Darn cat. Thinks she owns the place." He rolled his eyes. "I'll start looking into places we can go. Let me know when we're meeting at Tav's."
(Do we need to pick a specific place or should we just say a beach? Sounds like neither of us are particularly familiar with beaches, so I'm not sure picking a specific place would be all that beneficial.)

"Well, that's what you get for getting a cat," Phallon teased, taking the last sip of her drink. "I'll let you know if I get her in-laws on board with the plan. Then we can make our move."
(Unless you just want to choose a well known beach that's close to them, depending on the State they live in, we don't necessarily have to be specific. I've been to the beach at Florida, I'm not 100% sure which one, so I have a basic layout of how a beach town might be set up. But at the same time, we don't have to be accurate. XD We can make do with whatever we want.)

(Haha let's just say some beach in Florida. I've been to a beach in Florida once xD. Do you want to rp the kids a little or should we skip to later when Phallon and Vince announce the vacation?)

(Good plan.)
Tavica drove up to her brother’s house and entered to quite a racket. They were evidently playing some sort of chase game, because she saw James fly down the hall quickly followed by his uncle who was pretending to be some sort of monster. Alec was too young to play, but he was seated safely out of the way in a high chair where he could watch the action. He seemed to be having just as much fun watching as his siblings did playing. “Thank goodness you’re here!” Lily, Mark’s teenage daughter, panted as she staggered around the corner, out of breath from running. “I don’t think I can keep this up.” Just then she was tackled, falling to the ground quite dramatically even though the 5 year olds wouldn’t have been able to actually knock her down. "Ha!" James cried, still clinging to his cousin's leg. "We win!"

“Hey there, sweetie!” Tavica said, crouching down so she could hug Ann. “James, let your cousin be,” she told the other twin who was still trying to knock Lily to the ground. Normally both of the twins were relatively calm and quiet - for five year olds - though James was certainly easier to stir up than Ann. Seeing as all three kids were quite energized, she could see two outcomes: Either they would be impossible to get to bed with all their energy or they would crash in the car on the way home and it would be the easiest bedtime ever.
James stopped trying to tackle his cousin and turned to his mother. “Can’t we stay a little bit longer?” he begged, running over and hugging her. “Please?”
Mark came around the corner and leaned against the wall, laughing quietly as James begged. Lily got up and quite dramatically flopped onto the couch in the living room.

"Please, Mommy?" Ann joined in, looking up at her mother with pleading eyes, which were the same color as her father's. "You can play with us too! I promise we won't tackle you." Well, she promised. James would probably have other ideas. With her busy schedule, Tavica didn't have much time to play games like this with them at home. She had to make dinner, help them with homework, and then get them ready for bed. But at Uncle Mark's, they had plenty of time.

She had to make dinner, help them with homework, and then get them ready for bed. But at Uncle Mark's, they had plenty of time.
"I'm sorry, loves, we have to get home. You both have school tomorrow and mommy has to work," she told them, kissing each on the forehead in turn. "Besides, its way past your little brother's bedtime." Tavica always felt bad whenever she had to tell her kids no. She glanced up at Mark and gave him a look, hoping he'd help her out a bit.
"But Mommy, we'll go to bed as soon as we get home if we can stay a little longer!" James pleaded. That was always a good trick, and he was certain it would work. Unfortunately Uncle Mark chimed in just then.
"I don't think we can play anymore, kiddos," he told them, crouching down behind them and putting a hand on each of their shoulders. "You see, we seem to have lost our evil space princess for one," he nodded to where Lily was asleep on the couch, "and mountain trolls have a horrible weakness that they aren't able to run after 9:00pm and it's almost 9:15. It wouldn't be much fun to chase around one poor mountain troll that can't even run. The game would be over in a minute."
Tavica listened to her brother trying not to laugh and wondering just what crazy kind of game they'd managed to come up with. She wasn't sure she wanted to know. Back in the kitchen, Alec was starting to get fussy now that the game of chase had ended and he was tired.
James thought about what his uncle said with a frown. "I guess it would be kind of boring..." he said, looking at his sister. Unless she had any good ideas for how to make the game more interesting he didn't really want to play anymore.

"Maybe not tomorrow, but soon," Mark promised, ruffling Ann's hair before standing up. "I'm going to race you two to the car," he told James and Ann. "You two have to get your shoes on and everything else you brought and get into the car before I can get Alec into his car seat. Got it?"
James perked up immediately at the mention of a race. He nodded, already inching to where his shoes were left by the door. When Mark said 'go,' he sprinted to his shoes and began putting them on. They had star wars characters on them and even lit up. "Hurry up, Ann! We have to beat him! Mom, don't unlock the car until we get outside," he instructed.
"You got it," Tavica replied with a grin. At least she didn't have to ruin all the fun this time.

Ann smiled at the challenge. Together with her brother, she hurried to pull on her own shoes printed with Frozen characters on them. "I'm trying," she replied to James, successfully pulling on both shoes and strapping them onto her feet. Once done, she ran over to where their backpacks were placed in the kitchen chairs, out of the way so no one would trip over them. The little girl was on her way back to the door when she remembered something. "James, where's Bambi?" she asked, not remembering where she had left her favorite stuffed animal of the Disney deer. She always carried it with her if she could, and she had him when they got the their uncle's house.
