That's the one thing I'm not 100% clear on xD I know it's going to involve a corrupt King and a war that starts as a result from a kidnapping, but that's all I know.

It started with the intention of being a redemption arc thing but I think it's become more than that.
Shall we just see where the wind takes us?

(So I'm gonna just post some stuff and you guys can jump in where you want to. We don't have to stick with this, I just want to get something going =P I'm not going to put all my characters in this post by the way.)
Queen Helenia strode through the castle gardens, making sure all the preparations for the Harvest Festival were complete. Though the festival would not take place until the next day, she wanted to be prepared ahead of time. The tasks bored her, but it was part of her duty as queen to ensure that the festivals were successful; it made the kingdom look good which was just what her husband would want. Everything seemed to be in place for the most part, so Helenia sat on a stone bench and watched for a few moments as the servants carried decorations about.
(Ok so I'm still having indecision about which characters to use, so I'll post something for the others in the morning. I need to go to bed.)
(omg can I rp a bastard/illegitimate son of the king??)

(YES! I have no idea what I want him to be/look like, so it may take me a bit to get to the point where I can rp him)
Helenia turned to Selena, her lady as well as her friend. "Thank you, Selena," she said with a smile. "This year's festival should be a good one due to the crops being so plentiful this year. Are you planning on going with anyone this year?" she teased, missing the days when she didn't have to stand by the King's side the whole time. Those days were long gone by this point. (I don't know if Selena is married or anything so if she is I can repost)
(Do you have other characters planned out yet? Just wondering because it'll help me figure out which of mine to use xD)

(Well, I have a Ranger, or archer, that I can use that might be his best friend, as well as a commoner girl who can work at an inn. But I can make whatever characters we need.)
(nah, she's a single lady. xD)
Selena gave a small laugh and sat down beside Helenia. "Well, I have had my eye on one of the nights of the court, but I don't think he's interested in me. Otherwise he would have asked me to go with him before now," she said. "But I think I might try speaking with him tonight."

OOC: *comes in dancing like a boss*
All the single ladies All the single ladies All the single ladies Now put your hands up
BIC: Grim Hawthorn was so, so sure that something was gonna go wrong. That's why he'd been hired by the king to oversee the harvest festival, and while the preparations weren't exactly the festival, he was still overseeing.
If by overseeing you mean performing little magic tricks for the workers. Magic-users weren't rare, but everyone liked a good magic show, no matter what their age. They were just ignoring him because they were busy. The young man opened up his hands, and a bird flew out of them, getting a few feet above his head(not that it was high: he was a shorty) before exploding into glittering dust all over the food.
Whoops. Grim grinned at the workers who turned around to glare at him, "lovely day, isn't it? Lemme just..." He wrung his hands worriedly, making the dust magically fly into the air. "See? Fixed!"

(Sounds good Night) (Annnnnd now that song is stuck in my head... xD)
"Well, you'll have to point him out to me tonight," Helenia told Selena with a smile. Her attention was then drawn to the shower of glitter and the man who'd caused it. "Don't you go ruining all my hard work, Grim, she called though it was clear it was lighthearted. She knew Grim meant no harm.
(Hey Sherk, are you still planning on rping one of the royal children? If so, what age will they be?)

OOC: I've been thinking that I won't.
BIC: "Yes, of course, milady." Grim called over his shoulder as he vanished the glitter, "it's only an illusion." He turned around and bowed extravagantly to her. He looked up at Selena, "I don't believe I've met you? Grim Hawthorn, at your service. I'm some additional security for the festival, providing a little, ehm, magical touch." He straightened up importantly.

(Sorry for disappearing. I went to see the phantom of the opera last night and then class/work today.)
"Yes, a fine job indeed," Helenia agreed. "I only wish I knew why my husband felt like your are necessary," she said. She'd been trying to get it out of one of them for the past several days, but so far she'd been kept in the dark. (Have we decided who is getting kidnapped?)
Laidon stood grimly off to the side of the festival preparations where the young prince and princess were being entertained by one of the court fools/jesters. The twins had become his responsibility not long ago after he'd been knighted. Others might consider it an honor to be trusted with the protection of the royal children, but Laidon found the task more boring than honorable. Half the time he spent trying to keep the two children from hurting each other. Fortunately they were both too amused with the fool to worry about fighting at the moment, however.
(Agh I really want to rp the other son, but I don't have a name for him yet Dx)

(I just can't do that for some reason! I always have to pick the perfect name Dx It's a curse.)
"I suppose that's true," Helenia admitted. Better to be overly cautious than risk a disaster. even though it's gonna happen anyway xD. Just then her two ten year olds came running over; Ariella was crying and Drezdon was shouting something about how it was not his fault. They were followed closely by Laidon, one of the newer knights at court, who had been assigned to protect the prince and princess. "Oh dear, what happened this time," she asked, standing and looking down at her children with crossed arms. A quick glance over them told her neither were seriously hurt and it was probably just another one of their squabbles. Ariella went on to tell how her brother had pulled her hair, and Drezdon quickly protested, saying he was just trying to get a spider out of it. The thought of having a spider in her hair just made Ariella cry harder.
Laidon watched wearily, standing off to the side in hopes to not get drug into it. He noticed Selena and figured he'd better introduce himself since they'd never met. His decision may or may not have also been influenced by the fact that Selena was farther from the crying and yelling. "Good day, my lady, I do not believe we've met," he said, bowing. Based on her proximity to the queen he could guess she was one of the queen's ladies. "I am Lai-, I mean, sir Laidon Wolfhart." He was still getting used to the 'sir' in front of his name.

(I know the struggle. XD) Selena looked over as the crying girl ran to her mother. She had probably spent just as much time with the twins as their mother had, so she could tell that neither were hurt. If they had been, the knight with them wouldn't be so calm as he was. As she listened to the kids explain, her guess was correct and she couldn't help but to smile in amusement. The movement of the knight walking towards her stole her attention away from the kids. "I don't believe we have," she agreed to his first statement. "It's nice to meet you, Sir Wolfhart. I'm Selena," she said. She never used the title of "Lady" when introducing herself. It just didn't sound right if she did. "It's a pleasure, Selena. And please, call me Laidon," he told her with a smile. Admittedly he did like hearing the 'sir' before his name, but he didn't want to let it get to his head and cause him become like one of the many self-important knights at court. "Are you looking forward to the festival?" (And here is the illegitimate son! I think I'm happy with his name, but I still might randomly change it...) Sterling pulled a saddle from the wall and began saddling his grey mare. He didn't care much for the festivities and since he wasn't expected to be there as part of the royal family, he avoided the preparations when possible. The queen in particular didn't like him to be underfoot when she was seeing to the preparations, so he busied himself riding or practicing with his sword. One of the benefits of being a bastard was that he didn't have to learn all the politics and courtesies his half-siblings would have to learn. (So I don't know if Sherk is coming back, but I have a character I could use for the king unless you want to rp him which is cool too.)

(I could play the king since you already have your hands full with a lot more characters. "Alright then," Selena agreed, smiling. "And yes, I am. I was just talking with the queen about how wonderful tomorrow will be. The festival is fun every year, so I have no doubts that this year will be no different." (I like it. :3) "Where are you heading this time?" Matthew asked, walking over to where Sterling was tacking up his horse. He had just gotten into town, his house located on the edge of town, closest to the woods, and he decided to drop by to see how his friend was doing. He knew whenever the festival rolled around, the man tended to sty away from the festivities.

(So sorry for disappearing, we went to the mountains for the weekend.)
(I don't really have anything terribly interesting for Laidon or the Queen or the kids right now... do you want to either drop them for now or start somewhere different?)
Sterling glanced over his shoulder at his friend. "Nowhere in particular," he replied, finishing with the saddle and then turning toward Matthew. "I didn't know you would be back, have you returned for the festival?" Though he kept his expression and tone cool and collected, he was thrilled that Matthew was back. One of the only reasons he still lived in the castle at all was because his father had insisted. Aside from his mother, the king, and Matthew, Sterling was not well loved by most members at court.
