Hawkswoop did not hear what the two were saying, but he could almost feel their uncertainty. The warrior stopped and turned towards the siblings, his amber eyes narrowed at them. He could see their concern in their eyes and he growled. "If you two want to go back, be my guest," he told them, "Just tell Grizzlystar that I will still be out hunting." I will not let my clan starve. Hawkswoop's tail lashed. Whether or not these two will continue to hunt with me.

The feathered silver she-cat looked towards the other she-cat, not caring all to much on what she had to say. Softelm looked extremely bored as the two talked to each other, her tail curling in such a away telling anyone that she was impatient as well. It would be better if she doesn't even come along. Softelm thought, her eyes narrowing. It's never a good time when she's around. Softelm just wanted to hang out with her friend without Chickadeewing's watchful eye. She hated it.

Fawnspirit Antler Meadow - - - - - The brown tabby paused for a moment as she saw Hawkscoop turning around to face the siblings. The molly stiffened and she couldn't resist the urge to growl back at the large tom, her teeth flashing. Arrogant toad, she thought as she felt a rush of anger flow through her veins at the tom's foolish and bold words. "Mind your own business," Fawnspirit retorted with a lash of her tail, "And we are not going back until we find prey," she snapped. Unlike what Hawkscoop was currently thinking, Moosepelt and herself had a responsibility and they would not fail, if they had to leave the unruly tom behind. [ I will be back later to respond back to everything else xD I am getting confused because I have too many characters talking too many cats ]

Whitefalcon
It didn't take a genius to realize that the Clan was getting frustrated due to being cooped up inside camp all the time. Any cat with two eyes could notice the tension in the shoulders of each Clan member, the way restless paws tapped upon the ground, how gazes drifted longingly to the camp's exit. Cats were getting restless, and with restlessness came discontent. With discontent came agitation. With agitation came short tempers. It didn't take a genius to realize that. Unless the weather lifted and sunshine filtered through the territory once again, things were about to get a lot more riskier for the cats of MountainClan. As for Whitefalcon, well, she found it all rather amusing. Tempers rising and antsy paws...it was all amusing. A pity that her very own Clanmates couldn't even reign in their emotions and reserve their energy on problems that could actually be fixed by their own paws. Don't get her wrong, the white molly was just as ready for the weather to change into something more favorable as well, but she could corral her emotions and expectations into one place and keep an eye on them. She could keep them in check. There was no sense in wasting her energy on things she had no power of control over.
While most seemed to be worrying over the patrols and whether or not Grizzlystar had made the right decision, Whitefalcon was calmly stretched out near the warriors' den, grooming out her white pelt with delicate, long strokes of her tongue. Every so often she would glance up and look around, curious to see who all was milling about camp in a desperate attempt to get the itch out of their paws, but beyond that she paid no mind to what was around her. If a cat wanted to speak to her then so be it, but she couldn't find it in her to initiate a conversation. Should one find her she would be cordial, but she wouldn't hold back her thoughts on the current circumstances should that conversation arise - which she sure it was. The weather, the patrols, and her mate seemed to be the only topics on each cats' mind as of late. It was rather boring, hearing the same things over and over again, but what more could Whitefalcon do? It was not her place to change the topic of conversation, and if she needed to she would more than gladly put in her two cents on the whole matter whether or not she had cats to back her words up.

As Fawnspirit slowed and he fell into step with her, Moosepelt drew in close, glad to have the warmth of something else alive beside him instead of just the constant snow. The tabby strained his ears to catch the she-cat's words over the wind, head bowed low and close to her face to hear her. Moosepelt wasn't one to worry immensely--he had faith in his father's decision and the patrols capabilities--but he liked to get Fawnspirit's thoughts on these sorts of things nonetheless. It helped him feel more at ease.
He nodded in response to his sister's words, head tilting to the side a little as he thought them over. Glancing back to look over the pawprints they had left behind them, he saw Fawnspirit was right about them disappearing, and fast. The cats could likely track their way back home however, so Moosepelt tried not to worry about this particular issue for the moment, holding onto his faith in his companions. "I think it's safe enough, y'know, considering, but I'm just hoping that it's not for nothing--" He was explaining, sharing Fawnspirit's concerns about not being able to find prey when Hawkseoop interjected.
Moosepelt was a bit taken aback by the tom's sudden speech and dropped his green gaze when it was met with Hawkswoop's glare. His fur burned a bit in embarrassment, feeling bad that Hawkswoop could obviously tell the siblings harbored their doubts. Fawnspirit's feisty attitude amused him, but he still shot Hawkswoop an apologetic smile. "Sorry Hawkswoop." He mewed, looking sideways at Fawnspirit., obviously heated at the tom's comment.s "We didn't mean any harm--just getting each other's thoughts on the situation. Our apologies. Err, like Fawnspirit said... we're just as set on finding prey as you."

Hawkswoop stared at the both of them, narrowing his eyes at them. He understood their uncertainty, he really did. Though it mad him angry at the slightest hint of hesitance, working himself up on what he should do to make it all better. These two were his kin and if anything happened, not only would he, but Ridgewolf and Grizzlystar would be upset. Ah. Does Grizzlystar even care? Hawkswoop growled to himself. "Even if our tracks are disappearing, we can still find our way back home," he meowed. "Surely one of you know our terrirory's landmarks?" He then turned once again. "We'll be fine."

Sitting near the entrance of the camp, the white tom looked out and into the storm that was howling. The tom never minded the snow, in fact, he loved it. He loved the cold and preferred that the weather would remain cold. He hated the green-leaf as it was way to hot and he just couldn't contribute as much as he could during the winter. As confident as he was in his skills, he did not like hunting when it was hot. The tom glanced over towards Whitefalcon when he noticed her. He tilted his head when he noticed that she seemed uneasy. "What's wrong, Whitefalcon?" He called over to her, hoping to start up a conversation instead of looking depressed.

Whitefalcon
A question that ended with her name brought her out of her thoughts and her grooming. Sliding her tongue back into her mouth, the aging molly looked upward to see Driftwind not too far off from her current position.
Vague amusement brushed across her features as she eyed the tomcat with her seafoam green eyes. "What's wrong?" She echoed his question as if the words were incredibly important and needed to be repeated. "As far as I'm concerned, nothing is wrong," she meowed easily while gesturing with her tail for Driftwind to step closer and take a seat beside her if he so pleased. "Come and sit, no need to stay so far away." It would be a shame if the tomcat wasn't comfortable during their conversation. Once she had gotten past the pleasantries of conversation, Whitefalcon opened up a bit more. "Now, if you were curious, I can't help but notice how the Clan's all thinking of the exact same things as of late. Times are tough, but what's the point in getting worked up over something no cat has control over?" The molly shook her head, a faint 'tsk' rolling off her tongue as if she were almost scolding a kit. "We can worry about the snow and wind and whether or not taking out patrols was the right choice all we want, but where is that going to get us?" Absolutely nowhere, that was the answer she was looking for as she turned an expectant look over at Driftwind, wondering what exactly he had to say about her statements.

The medicine cat apprentice had always admired Cinderpaw's determination--she just wished sometimes that the she-cat would invest it in something other than her. She let out a soft sigh, her orange eyes sliding closed as she thought. Blackpaw didn't wish to hurt her little sister's feelings, but if Silverbirch caught her letting Cinderpaw help...
With a sharp intake of breath, Blackpaw nodded down at her sibling, coming to a conclusion. "Alright, alright." Giving in once couldn't hurt, could it? She could humor Cinderpaw this once. "We'll find something for us to do together, okay?" She mewed, smiling down at the fluffy apprentice. Forming relationships had never been Blackpaw's strong suite, and even though she had never been exceptionally close to Cinderpaw, she hated to see the disappointment in her face.

Chickadeewing was a bit taken aback by her brother's response. She opened her mouth to speak, but closed it again, looking down at her paws. The molly would be by her brother's side all the time if she could help it, but she knew her brother needed to spread his wings on his own from time to time. She had to trust him with that--he was a warrior and could handle himself, she was sure of it.
Looking back up to meet Swallowfur's soft gaze, Chickadeewing offered him up a small smile, her pale eyes warm at her brother's words. She rubbed her face along his muzzle affectionately, releasing a small sigh as she did. "Oh, Swallowfur, alright..." She breathed, stealing a few quick licks at her brother's face. "I'll try. I know you two will be okay... thank you."
She took a few steps back from the pair, dismissing herself from their adventure. The she-cat dipped her head to Softelm, an apologetic look in her eye as she noted her impatience. "Have fun!" She laughed a little shakily, but she meant it. Swallowfur and Softelm needed something to entertain their wild spirits. "Let me know if you find anything good on your adventure."

Swallowfur
Warm relief washed over him when Chickadeewing responded. He was glad to see that she was willing to let both him and Softelm out on their own, but he was also glad to see that she was actually taking his words to heart. His littermate deserved to go out and do her own things. She didn't need to sacrifice anymore of her time to watch over the two, and as much as he did enjoy having Chickadeewing around, Swallowfur had to admit he did enjoy time without her every so often. And it wasn't like he was trying to get rid of her, not at all. If she truly wanted to come the invitation was there, but Swallowfur was certain this wasn't an adventure the black and white molly wanted to be a part of. That's why he had given her the choice to stay out of it. Not because he didn't want her around, but because he wanted her to stay within her comfort zone.
For a split second a gentle smile pulled at his lips. It was warm and affectionate, an honest display of the love he felt for his sister; however, the genuine smile didn't last long and was soon replaced with that signature wild smirk of his - the look of a cat that was about to get his paws into something that many would consider dangerous. "We'll come back in one piece, promise!" He chirped, his own black and white pelt fluffing out as he then turned to look at Softelm. "You ready?" He asked the other molly, though he was certain he already knew her answer.

Moosepelt forced a short laugh, hiding some of the tension he felt, and waved his feathery tail dismissively. "We'll be okay Hawkswoop, I'm sure of it." He resonated the toms faith in the patrol. He did believe they were capable of being out in this weather--they were Mountainclan cat's after all. "And we'll definitely be able to get home. I just hope we come back with something to show for it all."
The tom continued to trudge through the drifts, snow clumping along his belly fur. However, it wasn't long before the patrol was under the cover of trees and Antler Meadow was in sight. Despite the weather, the warriors were seasoned and had made good time. The snow and the howl of the wind was much lesser down in the meadow and Moosepelt's spirits perked up a bit at this. "I'm glad you're with us and leading the patrol, Hawkswoop." The tom commented, and it was the truth. "It's admirable. If there's anyone I trust to bring back prey, it would be you." Moosepelt definitely admired his cousins determination. It was a trait he would have mirrored as an apprentice and young warrior, but it was waning as he aged. He tried not to push himself too hard. Of course, he would go to the ends of all his capacities for his clan, but Hawkswoop went above and beyond time and time again.

If it had been up to Spottedfire, or if she had been hunting alone, the she-cat most definitely would have taken off after the chipmunk. However, she heeded Dimheart's orders. If it had been any other cat, Spottedfire's obedience would have been unlikely. She disregarded safety frequently, reckless as she was, and didn't often comprehend the severity of the patrol's situation. But she wasn't about to go against Dimheart. She respected the warrior too much to make a fool of herself on patrol.
She followed the patrol as they continued deeper into the trees, alert for any indication of prey. Growing rigid suddenly, the calico picked up on the scent of a bird brought to her on the wind. Crow... she thought to herself, searching for any other indication of the creature. If it wasn't for the stark color difference, she may not have seen the bird, but she caught sight of it ahead of the patrol. It's black feathers were ruffled and stood out against the snow as it pecked away at the base of a pine, hopping around as it plucked away. Spottedfire nudged Nightsky beside her to get the tom's attention, indicating the direction of the prey with a thrust of her head. She took a few quick steps forward, her paws quiet on the snow, to flick Dimheart's haunches with her tail in warning.

Grizzlystar didn't take Sivlerbirch's words of precaution to heart. The tom had always been a little bit careless with his nine lives. He thought that the five he still had was plenty and the thought of squandering one away to ensure his clan's survival through this Leafbare season didn't bother him. The tom wasn't necessarily reckless, but his disposable lives had made him feel a little more impervious to danger. However, if he brought sickness into camp, that wouldn't be good for anyone.
"My body is as strong as it once was." He replied with a twitch of his whiskers. "If I do fall ill, maybe I'll request one of your apprentices for treatment as to avoid a motherly scolding," He jeered, although Grizzlystar himself didn't hold much faith in either Martenpaw or Blackpaw just yet. He'd rather drop dead than let either of them attend to him over Silverbirch. All things considered, the tabby trusted the medicine cat as much as he was capable of.
Silverbirch's remarks on his mentorship of Blackpaw almost brought out a snort from Grizzlystar. It was a similar approach that he had taken to fatherhood. The tom had kept his kits safe and fed, but anything more than that the tom wasn't necessarily capable of. Emotional enrichment was admittedly not something they ever received from their father. "Hopefully she inherits your knowledge and not your bedside manner, then." The tom dropped into a low bow to stretch before casting another glance back towards the elder's den. "I do need to speak to Yellowmoon before I leave, however." He meowed, a note of finality in his tone that indicating the leader intended to take his leave of Silverbirch.
[ freed up Silver for you, sorry it took me forever to reply. x_x i'm sure you want to send him to go bully apprentices lol ]

Dimheart
The scent of chipmunk had given her just a bit more hope that maybe they would bring a good bounty back to camp. It was just one thing, and the chances of them finding the chipmunk was incredibly low, but it told Dimheart one thing that was important - prey was out in this storm just like they were. And now it was up to them to find hunt it down.
She was interrupted by these thoughts when the faintest brush of a tail flicked across her haunches. Dimheart paused, a paw halfway up, and turned to catch Spotttedfire’s gaze. The calico had spotted something it seemed.
Keeping quiet Dimheart glanced around the vast expanse of mostly white until the promising sign of ebony caught her attention. Raven. If they could bring back even just one of those that would feed two or three warriors. Perhaps that wasn’t much when greenleaf was upon them, but in leafbare that sounded like a feast.
They couldn’t pass up the chance for that.
Dimheart motioned for Spottedfire to take the lead all the while keeping her eyes on the bird pecking on the ground. She would let the calico hunt it down; she had spotted it after all, and there didn’t seem to be any concerning obstacles between them and the raven, so with StarClan’s grace Spottedfire would make the first kill of the patrol.

Frostdeer / Bullheart Feathertalon
Her heart sank with his response. He promised to keep Sunhawk out of harm's way, something that hit her as no surprise. But the tom had blatantly left himself out of the discussion. Frostdeer felt annoyance tug at her ever so slightly. She knew then for certain that she would not be able to sway him in this. All her love for his conviction, and it could be the very trait that took his life from her. But, the optimistic queen nearly giggled at herself, it was pure delusion to believe Bullheart could fail in something he spoke about so passionately. His case against Grizzlystar at the very least had to gain such favour, as it had with her own mind, that Bullheart could be protected by clan support alone.
At Bullheart's answer, she felt glad he had already decided how to approach this with Sunhawk. It meant that she didn't have to decide whether it was best to inform their son, and she was happy to leave it to the two toms. "Hummingfrost?" she echoed at his request. This would be more suitable a task for her. Frostdeer was entirely uncertain as to whether her fellow queen would support Bullheart; in all their time together, she rarely spoke to Hummingfrost about the affairs of the clan, as per Frostdeer's distaste for conflict or the stress of warrior concerns. But this was something that affected them all, especially their kits, and it seemed more common sense than conflict. Though none of the queens had kits on patrol, Hummingfrost's sister was amongst the cats chosen, and perhaps that would make her even more emotional to Bullheart's plight than even Frostdeer for the time being.
She nodded slowly to him. "You can depend on me to find where she would stand on this." Having both of the clan's resident queens on his side would surely benefit Bullheart's argument, and lend him support from more than just warriors alone. "I saw her last nearby with Blushingrose." It occurred to the queen that she had almost no idea what the warrior's reaction might be to this information, simply because Frostdeer had been unlikely to socialise outside of Bullheart, Sunhawk, or Applepaw, and Hummingfrost only after the long amount time they had shared the nursery together. For this reason, she sought advice, "I will quietly discuss it with the both of them, if you think it would be beneficial. Or, I'll join them until Hummingfrost and I are alone again."
---
[One of my cats is named Juniper so I have an automatic love for your character btw <3] Raccoonpaw / Houndshadow (Feather) / Juniperpaw Starchaser The apprentice froze still at the sound of a tom's voice far too close to them, directed undeniably at the pair. Her wide green eyes reluctantly turned themselves to face Houndshadow as the glossy black tom confronted them in a manner casual enough to make her tabby pelt remain calm, but she was only one scold away from spiking up with embarrassment. To her uneasy relief, and surprise, Juniperpaw glided in with an excuse right away, with a tone much more believable than Raccoonpaw could ever dream of having, especially toward her mentor.
With her denmate's confidence, the striped she-cat slowly returned to her prideful, image conscious self, a sentiment that was only improved by Houndshadow's small joke. At least he understood that the two had felt left out when no apprentices were sent on the patrols, even if Grizzlystar didn't. As the mentor and his apprentice continued their conversation, Raccoonpaw grew certain that they were not in trouble- at least not today. She kept a composed expression on her face, and finally felt calmed enough when Juniperpaw turned to her for her approval of Houndshadow's offer. "Yes, I'd like that very much," she replied gratefully. She was almost glad Fawnspirit had been sent off on patrol, because now Raccoonpaw had the excellent rare opportunity to stand out for another warrior besides just her mentor, and a senior warrior to make things even more enticing.

[I've modified/reposted Martenpaw's starter here as well if Silverbirch wanted to bring his presence to one more unfortunate apprentice lol] Martenpaw / Blackpaw 𝑓𝑜𝑥 / Cinderpaw Starchaser
"Far too little tansy," Martenpaw muttered hastily. He was passing a steady paw through their herb supply, tittering to himself as usual. The hardworking tom wanted to have an excellent inventory in his mind of their stock, just in case Silverbirch ever questioned him regarding it. Meanwhile, the apprentice could organise their medicines as well, in the slightest of hope that his mentor might be pleased at his unrequested efforts. "Raspberry leaves. Far, far too many raspberry leaves," Martenpaw sighed, not without frustration. He orderly moved leaf after leaf. Raspberry leaves could only do so much, but tansy on the other hand, could aid a number of ailments and symptoms. The tom shook his head. It was no good doing anything but sorting the herbs, there was scant chance of fetching new supplies before newleaf.
After pawing through every last stem and seed, Martenpaw's eyes ached. He was far too young a cat to be tired so easily of the den's dim lighting, yet far too old an apprentice to be desperately trying to prove himself still. At this point in his training, all the caring tom did he did to be a better medicine cat soon, not to impress Silverbirch. Finished with his goal, the brown and white apprentice turned his attention to overhearing Blackpaw and Cinderpaw. His fellow apprentice's eager younger sister amused him, and the caring tom smiled at Blackpaw's dealings with her. He approached them with a gentle demeanor, blinking the dimness from his gaze. "Whatever you decide to do together, mind the herb stock, I just spent all morning sifting through it while you were asleep!" he joked to Blackpaw, then realised he sounded a little too eerily similar to their stern mentor. "Sorry," he apologised. The last thing Martenpaw wished was to be mistaken as grumpy or hurtful. "I think all the squinting at raspberry leaves has aged me at least fifty moons," he joked.

Yellowmoon / Grizzlystar 𝑓𝑜𝑥
Sitting not without discomfort just in front of the elders den, Yellowmoon took advantage of the light this morning. Though the air was cold, and the wind was brisk, the bright white light of leafbare struck camp just right for the old tom. It meant his failing eyes, slashed over by an unfortunately aimed old battle scar, could see just a bit better than their usual dullness. Despite his ancient age, the haggard old tom woke every morning at dawn. He hadn't been a warrior in so long, many of the young warriors in the clan today weren't even born when he reluctantly retired. Even so, he felt horrid sleeping in. Yellowmoon's life was being a warrior, and that was a schedule he simply could not forget.
Dimly, he saw his son, and leader, speaking with Silverbirch. The elder chuckled. He remembered becoming a warrior far before that silver tom took up his medicine duties, and yet Silverbirch sometimes acted as grouchier than himself. Yellowmoon gazed upon Grizzlystar with his gaze he saved for his sons, a judging look harsher than for any other cat, and yet charged with so much fierce protectiveness the gaze was almost a challenge in itself to anyone who would take speak against them. When Grizzlystar became leader, it was a glorious day for his father. Yellowmoon was disgusted that he had lived so long, especially to retirement, and it seemed his son would almost certainly outlive him to his relief. But as the leader lost one life after another, Yellowmoon could not help but chide him regularly. He hoped he would come to see him, as the recent sending of patrols had given the elderly tabby yet another point of contention to bring up with his kit.

Houndshadow
Houndshadow knew none of this was preferable. He knew the two apprentices would much rather prove their worth on a patrol, but as things were going right now any apprentices going on patrol would be a long time coming. The black tomcat understood their impatience to get out of camp, but it was even dangerous for experienced warriors to go out there in these conditions. All they really could do was get energy out in other ways, even if it wasn’t the traditional way of doing so.
Now with the two apprentices on board with his little idea, Houndshadow has the task of figuring out what they needed to do. If it were just him and Juniperpaw then he could just base their training on what he knew his apprentice needed work on. But it wasn’t just the two of them. Raccoonpaw was joining in on this training session, and if he wanted to do something worthwhile he needed to assess the other molly’s skills. She was younger than Juniperpaw, and had less time to gain the experience and knowledge that Juniperpaw had, but that didn’t mean he needed to treat her as inferior. Houndshadow knew each cat had their own strengths and weaknesses, and with that in mind, he decided on what he wanted to do.
”How does battle training sound?” He asked the duo. Hunting practice would be a bit harder to accomplish in a small area of camp, but battle training could be kept into a smaller area. ”We can head over here,” the tom suggested. He gestured with his tail for the two to follow him as he headed for a secluded corner in camp that seemed like a promising area for some battle training. ”How much training has Fawnspirit given you?” He inquired of Raccoonpaw. ”I’m sure she’s given you plenty, but I don’t want to give you advice that she’s already given you.” Then, not wanting to leave Juniperpaw out either, Houndshadow turned a warm gaze on his own apprentice. ”Perhaps I should spar alongside Raccoonpaw during this. Putting her up against a warrior like you doesn’t seem all that fair.” His words were mostly teasing, but there was some truth behind them. Houndshadow was beyond proud of how Juniperpaw’s training was coming, and he knew without a doubt that she would soon be a warrior MountainClan would be proud of. Each apprentice Houndshadow had over his seasons as a warrior all shared a special place in his heart, and he would always see them as friends or even family, and Juniperpaw was no exception to that. He truly enjoyed being her mentor, and he perhaps relished her training more than he had with any other apprentice considering he was almost sure she would be his last. He was getting older, and while he would give his service to the Clan for seasons to come, there were younger, sharper warriors within the Clan’s ranks now that would be honored to show their worth as a mentor. Houndshadow certainly had experience as both a warrior and a mentor over many a cat, but age was slowing him down, and it wouldn’t be much longer before he really wouldn’t be able to keep up with the energy a ‘paw possessed.
Bullheart
Slowly but surely his plans were coming together. All it had taken was one conversation with Frostdeer and already his grand ideas seemed a mere pounce away, and as soon as he made that leap he would land without problem. Everything seemed to be in his grasp, and not even once since the horrid winter storm had come upon them had the future seemed brighter than it did now. He felt confident that this would pan out just like he imagined in his head, and while he knew not to he too cocky, the feeling of having already won was strong.
Once more a low purr rumbled from deep within the ginger tom’s chest. He couldn’t stop himself from giving his mate an appreciative lick on the ear. He was more than grateful that Frostdeer was so willing to help him out, and while some cats went their whole lives wrongly believing that queens were weak, Bullheart knew just how much power and sway they had over the Clan. Without queens the future of any Clan was doomed. ”Thank you,” he breathed, the words turning into an icy mist around his muzzle. ”I know I can always count on you.”
After the words left his tongue he straightened back up. While Bullheart could go on and on about how much having Frostdeer on his side meant to him, he knew now wasn’t the time for all of that. ”If we had more time I would suggest waiting and bringing this up with just Hummingfrost for now, but we need to move a little faster if we want something done soon. Besides, I doubt anything we tell Hummingfrost would be kept from Blushingrose for long. Those two are practically inseparable.” It was true. It seemed like where one was the other wasn’t far behind. Bullheart would joke and say they acted like mates, but right now wasn’t the time for jokes.
