(Oh that's nice! Love it when teachers go easy on their students. Also I didn't mention this before, but I love what was done with Kiran. The champion of a deity concept is super interesting and I'm curious to see what else is in store.)
Oswald had called a meeting of sorts. Kell couldn't begin to understand why, but he did. She had barely walked in before one of the staff members informed her of his call and begin to lead her to the library. The thief had planned to get her things back and find more sources of the stones in town, but that clearly had to wait. She followed silently, the cat patiently trailing after her. Any evidence of his earlier meal was gone by that point. She had grown rather fond of the beast within the day of his companionship. It was nice. Kell turned her attention back ahead. The woman had led the thief to a small alcove within the two-story library. She quickly left, likely to guide the others into the area as well. Oswald was waiting with a couple of packets. He acknowledged Kell's arrival with a nod before gestering to one of the paper stacks.
"I've already begin research on the nobles we'll likely run into. I've made copies for everyone. Even you." There was a bit of an edge to his voice at the last comment, but the woman simply brushed it off. She had other things on her mind anyway. Although she had discovered what half the sources did, the other half remained a frustrating mystery to her. She had tried everything she could think of, but nothing worked back at the small clearing. Of course that was assuming they worked like the other abilities... Kell glanced at Oswald for a moment, a thought coming to mind. Maybe they worked on people or had effected those around me. Perhaps they don't necessarily change things in the world like the other ones did. Without a second thought, Kell focused on Oswald and began to burn one of the reserves. She could feel something immediately, though wasn't sure what it was. After a few moments of consideration, it seemed they could've been emotions. Only she couldn't tell what they were exactly.
Kellan pushed lightly aganist them and watched as the half-orc visibly began to relax some. Still focusing on her target, she began to burn the linked source instead and slightly pulled on the same unknown emotions. He sat up straighter, his smile widened, and his shoulders tensed in what appeared to be excitment. Then he relaxed again and glanced around. He had sensed what she had done. She stopped burning either source and finally went to the last two. She burned one and nothing happened. She continued to burn it, hoping something would come from it soon.
Oswald had copied information for five noble families. He had made four copies of his notes, the other three going to the party members. It was important to learn about the various nobles, though they didn't need to know everything Ga-Julei had detailed in his own notes. The thief walked in with her feline companion behind her. After exchanging a few words with the woman, she grabbed one of the packets and sat nearby. The beast sat by her feet relaxed. Only one set of eyes was open, watching the room. The prince turned his attention back towards his own copy of notes, quickly skimming over yet again for any mistakes.
As he checked once more, he could feel a slight change in himself. His excitement and curiosity ebbed away some, his body relaxing just slightly. The man didn't think anything of it until the emotions returned. Nothing felt trulydifferent, but he couldn't help but think something was off. He looked back up, frowning something and hoping to find Cruva. The man wasn't there. Although he was a little concerned, Oswald didn't dwell on it. He had other things to worry about for the time being.
(Next reply will finally have some more of Oswald.)

(Ah thanks! It dawns on me that I had mentioned it and it was part of her character but I didn't do anything with it so i just like went for it)
Kiran walked in a few minutes after the blonde did, quickly finding herself being escorted to the library. She returned alone, the atronach having long since extinguished itself after she'd quite literally burned through such a large portion of her energy. She physically had been unable to maintain the lifeless creature, and its flame died and left behind the frame. For a bit, that is. She'd learned they exploded about ten seconds after going out, and there was no one less decrepit building in the area. It had scared her a bit, but thankfully she'd already been out of range of the building. After this, she'd spent the next couple hours scaling broken walls. Or, trying that is. She knew herself, she wasn't much of a climber but she was determined to be one.
By the time she entered the room with the other two, She had a few minor cuts on her face and what was visible of her lower arms, she was bruised a bit, and her leather armor bore scorches and burn marks. Those were mainly from messing with her conjured creature, but the bruises were from falling from walls she wasn't skilled enough to climb yet. Despite the minor injuries, the princess seemed rather satisfied with her time outside, and it was because she was. Once there, she took up one of the chairs in the alcove, raising an eyebrow. "Alright, what's goin' on? Somebody find something interesting?" She hadn't been expected to be pulled into a meeting immediately upon return, but she didn't mind. They were here for a reason, and the sooner it was accomplished the sooner everyone could go home.
It was only a moment after she'd gotten out the question that Valiri and Cruva materialized in the room, neither of them reclaiming their human visage. "He's holding a meeting on the noble families. The information is vital since one of you will be attending their get-together in two days," she murmured. She and the guard had already discussed the general idea of the meeting as she knew it would be happening. She did, however, leave out the main details, and she felt that the prince did a fine job of explaining them. She glanced at the four of them, nodding slightly to the demon beside her before she spoke again. "It does not involve me. I'll be around should anything be needed." With that, the white-haired seer teleported out of the room.
Kiran had watched the whole thing, unsurprised that Valiri was a demon herself, though intrigued by her natural appearance. She would have to ask about it later. For now, she looked back to the prince as her summoned guard came to stand by her side. "So, nobles? Anything good?"

(Yeah! It was the perfect time to explore/introduce such a thing.)
Oswald nodded as Kiran entered in. It was clear she had been doing some physical activity during their downtime. He would have to question her about it later. Right now, he was focused on giving them the information about the nobles. He picked up one of the copies of notes and handed it to the woman. Once she had hers, he pushed the remaining one to the edge of the table for Cruva whenever he arrived. He hoped it would be soon because he wanted to get the meeting started. Besides that, they had other things to discuss. He didn't have to wait long for the demon's arrival. Both he and Valiri appeared in the room in a flash of smoke. Almost at the same time, he couldn't help but notice Tempest's head shoot up. Their arrival must had startled her. The half-orc was half tempted to tease her, but thought better of it. He didn't want to deal with the woman's sass. Instead he focused on the pair of demons and gestered to the remaining packet, which was intended for Cruva. He didn't have to worry though as Valiri left them to their own devices.
As Oswald gestered to the last packet of notes again, he turned his attention towards Kiran as she spoke. "Yes, I've learned a lot of good things assuming everything is accurate and I believe it is. I wrote things down for the first five noble houses. There are still a couple more we need to know about, but I figured this was as good a start as any." He paused for a moment and clasped his hands together. His excited grin was impossible to miss as he began explaining everything. "As you can see, I put down some basic information and copied their family emblem so we know what to look out for. The first house is the Helmslayers. They're one of the oldest and most prominate noble houses in Ereva. A portion of their military and non-royal guards are under their command, though it's split between the royalty and another two or three noble houses. The head is a woman named Vanessa Helmslayer who's half orc and half dwarf. She's four feet, eleven inches, one hundred-and-fifteen-years-old and said to be extremely strong despite her size. With that she also has a famous temper and is someone you don't want as an enemy. As a general, she's quiet well-known throughout the kingdom."
Oswald paused to let all the information sink in. He didn't want to overwhelm them with too much and thought it was good to give the group a chance to ask questions. After a few minutes, he moved on. "Other members of the Helmslayer clan hold various military or combat related jobs. Her brother, Adrasto Helmslayer, is known to run one of the Erevan prisons along with various cousins, uncles, and aunts. Another person to note is her nephew Nicanor Helmslayer. Not a whole lot on him, but he has dappled in some criminal activity. The extent of his actions isn't noted, however. It seems that's something the family is probably keeping secret due to their prominence and all.
"I believe the Helmslayers are people we either should avoid all together or try and be on something of good terms with them if we have to. As I said, they run most of the defense for the kingdom and it would be extremely unwise to provoke them. They are not enemies we can afford to have or even want to have." He paused again and looked towards Tempest. If anyone was going to cause trouble with nobles, it would be her. The woman rolled her eyes, but didn't say anything. "Anyway, if we're going to be facing the Ervean roayals at any point, we'll need to keep an eye put for this group. They didn't earn the surname Helmslayer for nothing." The history of the name was rather fascinating for Oswald. He had enjoyed the story and wanted to tell everyone about the take. However, it wasn't the time for such a discussion and he doubted anyone would care about it as he did. It didn't seem they were as eager to learn history as he was.
Kell was interested in everything the prince had found. However she was still a bit distracted with Cruva. She had stopped burning the first reserve and went to its linked one just before he and Valiri entered. Nothing had happened until the demons appeared. She had sensed a strange vibration coming from them. There was no sound, only a ryhtmic pulsing that washed over her. From there it hadn't taken her long to figure out where it was coming from. The obvious pulsing wasn't the only thing she had noticed. There had been something else there. Something that she could pull on. The thief reached out...
Kell stopped herself before she could do anything stupid. If the demon already wasn't aware that something was off with her, whatever else the source could do would certainly tip him off. So instead of continuing to use the reserve, she shifted back to its linked one. So if I can sense abilities or whatever with that source, then this one would do the opposite, right? The source began to burn, but nothing felt different. The theif wanted to get up and test to confirm what it did. The meeting was no place to experiment now, however so she turned back to Oswald and his ramblings about the nobles.

(If you ever want her abilities to do anything specific with my lads just lemme know! I'm always down for it c: Also, tell me why I just imagined a whole training montage with Kell and Cruva, like the ones they have in movies)
The guard picked up his copy on his way to stand beside his summoner, though didn't bother to look them over just yet. Rather, he listened to the half-orc as he spoke, storing the information away for later use should it ever come up. The Helmslayers would certainly make a formidable enemy should something go wrong, and part of him wondered how long the family was in the noble circle. Perhaps he'd met one of their descendants... How would they fair against a demon? Several demons? What about an army? Not that he would drag one up for something so small, but part of him was curious.
Unfortunately, he'd stopped listening shortly after. A shift in energy as if a process had been stopped drew his attention, and drew his gaze toward the blonde. He watched her for a moment, knowing she had something to do with it but unable to describe what she had done. His gaze only lingered for a few moments before his eyes turned back to the prince. There would be time to question exactly what she was doing later.
Unlike her demon, the princess had listened intently to everything her friend had detailed thus far. It was a little disappointing to here that there wasn't much to be found on Nabil, however, knowing what he involved himself in was better than nothing. "Right - it'll be better to at least try and befriend them. If we do, we may be able to find out if any military attacks are being planned." It was in their best interest to know if anything was being put in motion that would hinder them or cause later problems. Being able to eliminate any later problems now would be nice. That, and it would allow them to be prepared once they reached home if that's what it came down to.
"You'll have to tell me how they got that name later," Kiran murmured, leaning back in the chair. "Who's next?" There were a few noble families, but that was the extent of her knowledge. But, if one of them was going to attend the meeting in two days, then it was important to have at least a base knowledge on each family. Enough to survive should something go wrong for whatever reason.

(Alright~ Also that sounds fun and the thought kind of makes me laugh. I'm just imagining a very bad and cheesy training montage between the two and how that would turn out.)
The prince nodded in agreement to Kiran's idea. "There are enough people within and accoicatied with the house it probably won't be a problem to befriend someone. Even then I'm sure we'll figure out something to do. We have a thief with us and a guy who can teleport. There are other options." Tempested eyed the half-orc for a moment, but he didn't care. Instead he turned his attention to Kiran's previous comment for a moment. A lumped formed in his throat. He was so caught up in the peace and friendship between Zaestro and Mithra, that he didn't consider a possiblity of war continuing with Ereva. He pushed the thoughts away and managed a grin when the princess mentioned her curiosity about the name. At least someone wanted to know and it was something better to focus on.
"Right! We have the Fallow noble house next. Unlike the Helmslayers, they've only been prominate for the last forty-five years or so. Most of their profit, it seems, comes from mining and weapons making for the kingdom. They work closely with the royals and Helmslayers and have a whole stock of skilled craftsman, many of them Fallows, to make the weapons. They make the most enchanted weapons in the kingdom as well, which makes sense considering their prominence. Also, they all have very long names, so please bear with me. Anyway, head of the house is a man named Erling Oded Tharon Fallow IV. He's fourty-seven, human, and said to be around six feet tall. According to my research, he's quite charming, affable, intelligent, and calculating. He's married to Chryseis Ingrid Naiscient and has four children. Three daughters, and a son who are around their early twenties. I will not mention their names because they're three pages long, but I have them written down." He was joking of course. They were long, but not nearly that long.
"Anyway, his siblings seem to be rather important as well. His sister, Adalia Kalesta Timothea Fallow, is fourty-three and married to Deyon Vitalis Nox. They have three children. It was noted they had a political marriage between the two houses, which makes sense on Nox's end. His family have dealing in weapons and mining, so it would make sense to have an affiliation with a more powerful family. Lastly there is Ector Falkner Alik Fallow, who's thirty-eight. Unmarried and no children. At first, he might seem unimportant. But what's interesting about him is the lack of what seems to be any bad records. It's almost suspiciously too good. Based on the evidence provided, which I can detail to you all later, it seems he might be taking stock from his family's supplies, and selling it elsewhere. Maybe to Mithra and Zaestro or mostly keeping it within the borders of Ereva. I'm not entirely sure. But it's something to keep on mind in case we need it later. Like the Helmslayers, I believe it would be wise to try and befriend this family or avoid them. Like Vanessa, Erling is said to have a temper. It actually might even be more volatile and dangerous to have him as an enemy too considering his allegiences. And yes, I have some evidence for believing such a thing." He paused once more to let anyone ask questions. It was important that they knew what exactly they would be dealing with and the notes he provided would only take them so far. Of course it was far enough for the time being, but there were other things they would have to rely on.
Kellan flipped through the few pages of the Helmslayer information to get to the next house. It was the Fallows as Oswald had stated. When she reached the next family, a shockingly familiar sight greeted her. The thief froze. It was that symbol. The deer head symbol with the tree for antlers. The one she'd drawn many times before. The half-orc's words were simply background noises as she studied the crest. For a moment, she almost had tunnel vision, only focusing on the drawing. She lightly traced her hand over it, though that wouldn't have done anything. Emotions crowded her all at once. Dread, excitment, shock, hope, and perhaps a twinge of fear were all mixed around. Eventually it all melted away into a weird feeling of curiosity. She had the urge to go back for her sketch book and compare the two pictures. Of course, she knew it would be pointless. They were of the same thing.
She glanced at Oswald again. Does he know? Is this some kind of cruel trick? Or...is my symbol actually a house emblem. An Erevan house emblem? She knew it was the latter. It would've been foolish to think otherwise. Of course, that simply brought up a series of questions she would have to ask herself. And she didn't want to face them. At least not at that moment. The thief forced herself to tune back into the prince's words. It would work as a good distraction for the time being. And she needed the distraction.

(yeah, that's what I had imagined! lol it just made my morning)
He frowned slightly when he was mentioned, though a bit vaguely. First of all, he was much more than 'a guy who can teleport'. He was what spurred wars hundreds of years ago, a force bound to do much more damage once he came into the power. Secondly, and most importantly, he was not bound to the prince. Outside of direct orders from the young woman beside him, he acted for his own pleasure. Nothing more, nothing less. Still, he said nothing in favor of turning his focus to the idea of the war suddenly picking back up. Sure, it was nothing of his doing, but it would be interesting to see and put an end to. After all, Kiran would surely involve him if an attack was led against her kingdom.
As he thought, he flipped through the pages idly, making mental notes of the house symbols and only vaguely listening to the others words. Well, until he brought up Ector, that is. He glanced up, listening to what he had to say about the missing stock. "He trades with the caravans that pass through. They sell the stock and he receives rare items in the trade. I've seen the emblem a few times in the desert."
Kiran only nodded slightly. "I've seen a few Erevan weapons in the oasis. Though, I'm more curious about this evidence of yours. I feel as though a man from a smithing family ain't much of a threat," she responded. In her eyes, smiths made for poor strategists, especially when they had a bad temper. It was nothing that couldn't be handled. Or, that's how she saw it, anyway. After all, she was more of a warrior that a person of royalty and she had a demon. That, and her mother's military was not to be under estimated should it reach that level. Unlike her father, the queen of Zaestro knew a plethora of battle tactics, defense plans, and could organize an attack strategy at the drop of a hat. She herself strived to be this person.
For now, though, she needed to know just what this man had done to warrant such a warning. Sure, she wasn't here to make enemies, but things happened sometimes. What made Ector so special that she absolutely had to be on good terms with him.

(Haha that's good! Also if you have any ideas for noble houses, feel free to share because I really don't have any big plans for them.)
Oswald shifted his gaze towards Cruva as he spoke. "Ah interesting. I never deal with that sort of thing, so I can't speak for Mithra. Actually I could probably ask my family about it and see if they know anything about Erevan weapons in my kingdom. Cenric or Wyla actually might know. Mother and father may have some idea and perhaps some of the nobles may know something," he mumbled, starting to ramble a bit. Kiran talking once more pulled the prince from his thoughts. The half-orc nodded, acknowledging her point.
"That's a fair. Truthfully I called it evidence, but I think that's a bit presumptive. It's more like a few things I read that made me a bit suspicious about Erling. Poor form on my part, as a scholar I know better. But that's beside the point. Maybe Ga-Julei will have better insight on him and even Ector. Anyway, enough about the Fallows. We have other nobles to learn about. We have the Ravencrofts. They have the strongest ties with the royal family and have remained strong almost since Ereva's beginning. They're mostly elves and half-elves of some kind, but there's supposedly some gumiho ancestry among them. It's mostly rumor, although there seems to be some evidence to prove otherwise. Besides the fact that they're wizards and could hide such things. Again, I can inform you on later. Actually I might just make a seprate document detailing all the evidence to make things easier on us." The man paused for a moment, thoughtfully considering his words before giving a nod and moving on.
"Now unlike the other houses where their leaders have known tempers, the Ravencrofts are more docile by comparison. A house full of scholars and wizards, it seems they're more concerned with their studies. Of course, we shouldn't underestimate them. Wizards especially should never be underestimated. The current house leaders are twins Keril Corvus Ravencroft and Kalandra Carine Ravencroft. They're both wizards and are said to be quiet and powerful. It doesn't seem they're all that involved with politics or defences. in fact, I'm not quite sure what exactly they do," the man noted.
Oswald continued to ramble on, now talking about some new noble family. Kell turned him out again, carefully reading over information about the fallows. She was becoming uncharacteristically unfocused, distracted by another piece in her puzzle.

Oswald continued to ramble on, now talking about some new noble family. Kell turned him out again, carefully reading over information about the fallows. She was becoming uncharacteristically unfocused, distracted by another piece in her puzzle. (I don't either lol they're just a lil plot device) As Oswald moved on to the next family, Kiran found herself looking ahead in the notes he'd compiled for them. While she listened to him go on about the Ravencrofts, her focus landed on the Tolenais. It seemed the family had only come into noble status fairly recently, within the last thirty or so years by the looks of it. It seemed they managed the kingdom's trades and business with other lands. The family was assumed to be either of angel descent, or possibly some mixture of angels and demons. It seemed that they oversaw some other little operations such as scouting for possible border expansion on the other side of the mountains. Not much was known about the head of the family, Auri Tolenai. It seemed she was a mysterious figure with her age only being estimated. This, unfortunately, also meant it was unknown if she was a force to be reckoned with. "Hey, what's up with the Tolenais? It doesn't seem like you found much on them," She murmured, looking over their family crest. It appeared to be two dragons entangled with each other, wings outstretched behind them. One appeared to be a feathered wyvern while the other seemed more like a dessert wyvern with spines down its neck and back. "Specifically Auri - she's head of the family but there isn't much about her." She wanted to know more of their general descent and determine if she was somebody to befriend or avoid. Cruva followed suit, flipping through the pages until he landed at the new topic. Like his summoner, he was a little surprised at the lack of information. Maybe two or three pages on the entire family, including the woman in question. It was nearly less than half of what the others had. "She likely hasn't been coming to Ga-Julei's meetings," He murmured, merely skimming the words on each page. If she had been coming to the meetings, surely there would be more information on her. Or her family. Or just in general. "A family of suspected Angelic descent would be interesting on a royal court. They can't lie."

Post by Amber on Feb 25, 2020 11:17:36 GMT -5
(That's true. Also, did everything with your claim get solved?)
"Unfortunately, Ga-Julei didn't have much information on her or many of the house members, of which there are few. It's kind of surprising considering the other information he's managed to collect on the others and us, though I suppose we weren't being the most careful. Anyway, I think part of it might be due to the lack of public appearances by the Tolenias. They hardly ever attend social gatherings and seem to really keep to themselves outside a few events here and there," Oswald explained. "In fact, when it comes to various gatherings or business meetings, very little of it seems to be done by Auri herself. I've wondered what she gets up to if she isn't busy with politics or financial issues or other duties typically done by house leaders. I do wonder if there's information elsewhere to find out more."
As the prince finished his long-winded answer, the guard spoke up mentioning something about the inability to lie. The thief frowned a moment. It made sense to some degree, but it left her with some thoughts. "How far back does this supposed angelic heritage go? Surely things like the inability to lie wouldn't affect someone ten generations down," Kell pointed out. Of course, maybe that very thing still affected the Tolenai's bloodline. She was hardly familiar with how it worked, so it was entirely possible they still couldn't lie. Or at least not lie well.
"It's unclear, but at least two or three generations ago there was likely an angel ancestor. Not much of an answer, but it's a start." Oswald paused for a moment and shifted his brown eyes towards the guard. "Hey Cruva, what other powers might someone of angel descent have after three or more generations? Does it depend on the person, do the powers simply weaken, or is it something else entierly?" The prince inquired.

(it did! they mailed me the check so I just have to go to a shop and see how much it'll cost)
Listening to the answer he gave, Kiran found herself nodding slowly. Well, a lack of appearances would make it more difficult, though she was under the impression that the elf would have his ways of getting information on them anyway. When he mentioned the business dealings, however, she frowned a little. "Perhaps she sends somebody on her behalf. It wouldn't really surprise me if that were the case." If they had their own operations to attend to, it wouldn't be out of place. The nobles in Zaestro did sent others when they were too busy to make an appearance themselves. Hell, even her mother did it sometimes, though she did her best not to.
As the topic shifted slightly, hazel eyes shifted to the blonde. It was a fair question as well as a fair assumption - traits would become watered down. Stop existing after a certain point, then saying you were of angelic descent would be trivial and hold no weight. Besides, once the bloodline became as diluted as she could assume it would after ten generations, wouldn't they just be human? She didn't get much time to think on this as the prince chimed in once more, clearing up the range which an angel may have entered the family. Right... So, still a large portion of angelic blood within the family, then. Well, that would be interesting if anything happened to go wrong.
The demon looked up from the pages he held as a question was posed. He'd only been vaguely listening until attentions were turned to him. The thief was right - after ten generations, it would be unlikely that any person would maintain the full inability to lie. Still, he did not know for sure, but he felt as though he could make the rough estimate. As for Oswald's question, that was a little more complicated. It depended on the original angel and how powerful they were. Everything after that would fall in line.
"Generally speaking, their powers do weaken. If they have them, they can't hide their wings, are unable to perform a possession and are unable to summon weapons. Up to the fifth generation are likely incapable of lying and can still willingly manipulate what most consider positive emotions," Cruva answered, pausing as he thought on this. Those with demon blood past a fifth generation weren't the best liars, but they were still rather good. Just not as good as a full blooded demon. Unfortunately, this was his only frame of reference. "Past that, lying is just a complicated task and manipulations aren't willing. Still, they'll be naturally prone to learning conjuration, healing, and alteration magic."
He paused again, thinking on it. Should Wrath have a half-blooded child, it would still be rather powerful and likely mistaken for a full demon. "Further details depend on the original angel. The more powerful the angel, the more dominant angel traits are."

(That's good! Seems like you're almost done with all this.)
Oswald nodded in agreement to Kiran's suggestion. It would make sense for the woman to send someone in her place if need be. He would have to look into that later or ask Ga-Jueli about it. For now his attention was drawn towards the demon. After a moment of thought, Cruva gave an answer. The half-orc nodded along, listening to the man's words. It was interesting and useful information, even if they didn't need it all.
"Would there be any way to tell how powerful her heritage is?" It seemed unlikely, but it didn't hurt to ask. Surly there was some sort of tell or mystical way to find out. He assumed as much at least. After a moment, Oswald flipped to the remaining family of the night. The quill and ink symbol was the crest of the Dovers. After giving everyone a chance to follow suit, he began the overview of the family.
"Like the Helmslayers and Ravencrofts, the Dovers have also played an important role in the kingdom for a while now. From what I've gathered, it's not uncommon for a noble house or two to rise in prominence every few centuries. There's not a lot to say about them and it's not due to lack of information. They work as advisors and accountants mostly, though some act as scholars, researchers, and even diplomants. The head of the house is Reinald Dover. He's mostly human, though it seems he has some elf and halfling ancestry. He works as an advisor for the crown. He doesn't seem too involved in politics beyond keeping information on most of the noble houses. With that said, he might know secrets or have blackmail if he's a political information collector." It made sense to Oswald. The ruling family in Ereva would want to know what the noble houses are doing at any given time. If they had access to secret information, it would keep them in line. Assuming they worked that way, of course. As the half-orc put away his papers, there was one more matter to discuss. One of them had to attend a meeting in two days.
"I apologize if it feels like I'm rushing this meeting. It's late and I'm sure we all want to rest for the night. However we have one more matter to discuss. Which one of us will attend that meeting in two days?" He briefly glanced everyone over, unsure of what they would agree on.

(Not sure what things are like for your area, but how are you holding up with all this chaos? Also I know different people feel differently about it, so sorry if I made you uncomfortable or anything.)

(They’re kinda garbage cause my state doesn’t know how to handle anything ever lol also sorry, quarantine has been just a mess and since I’m an essential worker most of my time has been dedicated to emails and school. Thankfully tomorrow and Friday I’m totally free cause somebody else is covering those shifts. How’re you holding up, though??)

(That really sucks. Hopefully things will improve and calm down some soon, but who knows. Also no need to apologize. As you said you're an essential worker, so your job has gotten all the more busier. Just hope you aren't extremely stressed and getting good rest and all that good stuff.
As for me, I'm doing good actually. Helping my family get out garden going again and doing housework. School's been moved online and just started yesterday. The worst I've thankfully had to deal with is arguing siblings and just the smallest bit of boredom from time to time.)

(Yeah but just whatever. I expected it cause I work at a health center. The only thing that sucks is that I bring everything home with me so it’s hard
That’s good!! I feel like hardening is a good way to pass the time. As for siblings I’m in about the same spot since my youngest brother is 7 and we just got a puppy last month. So it’s been quite the time honestly)

(Ah, health workers are important currently and I can only imagine just how busy you all are now. I can see that as a concern. Hopefully everything will be alright on that front.
Assuming the weather cooperates and it doesn't get too hot or cold it definitely is. And it's great to have whatever we grow when it's ready. Anyway, dogs are always a good distraction for children. My youngest sister is 9 and my brother is only three years older, so when they get antsy we send them to play outside. Eases up on the chaos here at least.)

(Yeahhh it’s been a little rough but not too bad since my health center isn’t one of our network’s testing sights, which honestly I’m thankful for
That’s good at least! The weather has been kinda of crappy where I’m at so we can’t send my brother out. Plus he always wants to go to the park and we don’t wanna let him there cause of the circumstances but he doesn’t get that. I think the biggest problem is though he can’t do the same things he did at school while he’s home so he has all this energy built up and nowhere to go)

(Oh that's good at least. A bit easier than if it were a testing site.
Bad weather is never good no matter what kind. Hopefully your brother will be able to for a walk soon or something. Kids can get really antsy with all that spend up energy. We're lucky enough to live on a good piece of land so we can literally send them out and let them wear out themselves. And next door is a boy same age as my brother, so from time to time they play together.)

(shoutout to quarantine killing my motivation to do literally anything ever
the weather was nice today so he came out when I walked the dog, so I think that helped him a lot. It's good that they have somebody that live near by that's the same age)
Tails swaying slightly behind him, the demon thought briefly on the new question. There were ways, but most of them were what most considered to be 'invasive'. Then again, he supposed there were other, significantly less invasive ways of finding out the angel at that entered the bloodline. "There are. I suppose I could look into it if it becomes necessary." He had no reason to care at the moment. Although, it would be advantageous to know what angel was involved should things go bad.
Soon enough the prince was moving onto the last family. They didn't seem like much of a threat, but it sounded like another wonderful place to get information. Maybe he would make a trip to visit them... He was sure Ga-Julei would know where the Dovers lived. Above that, if he couldn't brute force his way into getting the information, Valiri would simply give it to him. It just wasn't as fun that way.
Kiran found herself nodding along to the half-orc's words. While not an outright threat, it would be interesting to know what kind of information they had, if any. Regardless, they would make a good ally... Or at least an important party to keep neutral since they acted as the main advisors for the royal family. Regardless, they sounded like the most pleasant family to meet and possibly interact with. Though, while she wouldn't admit it, she wasn't here to make allies or foes. Despite these meetings, she still had a bone to pick with those in the castle.
Her attentions were diverted, however, as Oswald brought up the meeting, she couldn't help but shrug. "I don't really care who goes," she replied, glancing at the three in the room. While she knew the demon well enough to know he wouldn't want to go, she could easily send him. "Unless anybody has a specific interest in one of the families, either I or Cruva can go.

(Ugh that's literally one of the worst things. Honestly I really hate having lack of motivation.
Oh good weather is, well, good. Nice that your brother could stretch his legs a little instead of being cooped inside. And yeah it's good. They wear out each other's energy.)
There was a way to find out how powerful someone's heritage was. Or at least there was for an angel and likely a demon by extension. Of course the latter was hardly the prince's focus for the time being, but it was certainly something interesting to keep in mind. Oswald nodded. Even if they didn't need to know how much angel blood Auri had, it was good to have the option there to find out. There wasn't much more they needed to discuss about the nobles. The half-orc would simply add more information as he continued his research and was open to discussion if anyone approched him.
When he changed the topic, everyone was silent for a moment. No one immediately volunteered to go, which he supposed wasn't too surprising. None of them seemed to be itching to go to the meeting anyway, mostly just indifferent. He shifted his gaze towards Kiran as she spoke up. He gave a small nod before glancing at Tempest and Cruva.
"One of you should probably go," Kellan agreed, gestering towards Kiran and her guard. There was nothing for her to gain from going, not yet at least, and she simply didn't want to. The thief caught Oswald's slightly annoyed look.
"Why them? Why not you or even me? Are you trying to weasel your way out of this?" His tone was accusatory, but Kell simply brushed it off.
"No, actually. I don't know exactly what information any of you want and what would be interesting. I'm also a thief for a reason. I probably can handle the meeting and talking with nobles, but my skills are better used elsewhere. Also I hate nobles. As for you, princeling," she gestered towards Oswald, "I don't think you have the composure to handle the situation. You're easily made uncomfortable at best and something of a nervous wreck at worst. Besides, your skills are better suited for study and research." To punctuate her point, Kell held up the packet he had prepared for the group. The prince grumbled something under his breath, but didn't object any further.

(Same - I know part of the problem is my entire home routine has been ruined by this quarantine, so my pent up physical energy is getting in the way of me doing literally anything anymore)
The princess only listened to the two, though found herself dwelling on the possible methods of how one was to find out the exact heritage of a person with angel blood. Knowing the two species, it was probably invasive... Yet, she couldn't help but there was some lengthy spell or ritual that could be done. Perhaps she'd ask him about it later tonight. She always took the chance to learn more so that she may better accommodate the demon, though she knew this would have no impact on the way she treated him. This was just for the sake of her curiosity.
Still, Kiran tuned back in when the half-orc seemed to be accusing Tempest of slighting him indirectly. She herself hadn't picked up on such a thing, though she supposed she could see where he was coming from. Despite this, a part of her figured it was starting to stem from a personal dislike of the thief, which she thought was fair, but unwarranted at this time. With this in mind, she stayed silent as the blonde explains herself. She had a point - the four of them each had their own skill sets, and Oswald's didn't really seem to include anything that could lead to confrontation. She herself had her own limitations that would keep her from going to this meeting. Sure, she was quite used to them but just didn't want to deal with the elf longer than she had to. "Seems like you're going then, Cruva. I would, but my anger is still a bit much."
"Yes, princess," the demon replied smoothly, rather unphased by the decision. He wasn't surprised. After all, he'd known the woman for six years now and she was the type that found it hard to hide her emotions. It wouldn't have taken much for her to have an outburst, likely caused by Ga-Julei. Aside from that, he would've volunteered eventually had she tried to go. The nobles were more likely to know her face than his own, and if he had to, he'd possess another animal. Not that he wanted to considering how poorly the last one had gone, but he recognized this was still an option.
