Oswald did pick up on the elf's confidence. It wasn't diffcult to miss, though it wasn't to the degree Cruva had noticed apparently. He titled his head slightly, considering the demon's words for a moment. "You may have a point. I suppose we'll get more insight on him when we see him again. We'll be there soon enough." If the demon thought his confidence was important enough to bring up, Oswald would listen. Perhaps there was something to be concerned about when it came to the elf's confidence. The half-orc didn't get an oppertunity to dwell on the topic as he asked his questions and Cruva answered.
Oswald simply nodded along. He wondered why the demon's name would be mentioned more, but didn't press for details. He was prying enough as is. The explanation for Kiran made sense. He had heard stories of the same demon being summon by the same family generations. Having the name of a demon to get a contract with was useful. It was especially useful if they had expierence with the family before. Or so the half-orc would assume. When Cruva mentioned how the spell shouldn't have worked, Oswald frowned. Before he could inquire further, the guard was already answering his next question. He was predictable that way. Asking a lot of questions did that to a person.
The prince carefully listened and nodded along. It made sense. He knew demon contracts were tied to their physical health. Taking more than one contract at a time would interfere with that and split their focus from their required duties. Oswald said nothing more as they continued on. It wasn't that he didn't have questions or wanted to stop talking, his mind was too focused on their current mission. Eventually, they came upon the alleyway. It was a quicker trip than earlier as there were very few people in the streets at that hour.
Light spilled under the door at the end of the alley like most other taverns in town. Unlike the other ones, however, no music, laughter, or loud conversations could be heard. The street was uncomfortablely silent and eerie. Although they would be safe from whatever lurked in the shadows, Oswald couldn't help but feel uneasy. After a moment, he scurried to the door and knocked like before. The dwarvish woman let him in like before. The main area was more packed than before. It caught Oswald slightly off guard. He had expected there to be less criminals around, not more. He assumed most business dealings were done at night. It seemed he was likely wrong, however. Turning his attention away from the crowdedness, he began to look for the elf from earlier. They had the ring and now they just needed his information.

It was odd. Despite how often his name was in texts, he didn’t get summoned as often. It was due to his nature really - those who read his full entry realized he was too much. He wasn’t just so lowly daedra, no, he served directly under on of the deadly sins. Not only that, but he was the son of said deadly sin. The demon was a force to be reckoned with, and nearly all who summoned him met a undesirable fate. Honestly, it was rare that his summons lived passed his departure. Most of his summons had been recorded in great detail, putting his name is more and more text but also warning of his nature.
It seemed the other no longer had questions, however, as he fell silent. Soon enough they were back in the alley and entering the building. There were more people than before, though he didn’t particularly care. As they entered, he surveyed the people, making note of some of the new faces despite how they meant nothing to him. “Sitting at the bar would be easier than looking for him,” he commented, realizing how long it would take to sort through the mass amount of people in the building. After all, he was sure the elf would end up at the counter once more sooner or later. So why expend extra energy when they didn’t have to?
He glanced towards the bar, wondering what had brought these extra people here. What Cruva did take notice of was a woman who walked by them, head down and hands clutched in front of her chest as if she was praying. It wasn’t exactly her that he noticed, but the growing sounds of whispers that accompanied her. His eyes followed her as she left, eyes settling into a glare. “He’s here.”

"Alright. That makes sense," the prince agreed. The elf would find them easily enough. He would, probably, come to them. Oswald headed to the bar and, somehow, managed to find an empty seat. He ordered another drink, but kept an eye out for the elf and on the criminals around. Just because they were there to meet someone, didn't mean he had to only stay focused on him. People were generally chatting to themselves. The main room wasn't nearly as loud as the tavern was the previous night. It was almost odd to see everyone sober and relatively quiet. Then again in a place full of criminals few would want to hinder their senses.
"He's here," the demon said. Oswald took a quick glance around and sure enough the elf was heading their way. The prince tried to lock eyes with him, though he doubted he would need to. He seemed to have spotted them. As he approched, Oswald was tempted to grab the ring. He hesitated. It seemed like an unwise move until the elf came. He quickly reached the pair, Oswald greeting him with a simple nod.
"Hello. I believe we have what you wanted."

The elf had spotted the man easily - he was the only one with a damn cat on his shoulders. Be approached them with ease, people moving out of his way without him having to open his mouth. It was why it didn’t take him long to reach the bar. When he was close enough, the half-orc greeted him only gave a slight nod of his head in indication. “I would hope so, otherwise it wouldn’t have been smart to come back.” He stopped only a step or two away from the man, assessing him a little. This, however, only lasted a moment before he turned away and beckoned slightly with his hand. “Come with me - I don’t like speaking in such an open space.”
He didn’t wait, simply started making his way through the crowd once more. If he was smart, he would simply get up and follow. He wasn’t going to wait for him to follow instructions, as doing such would merely be a waste of his own time. The man wasn’t one to waste time.

The stranger didn't greet the pair, jumping straight into business instead. The half-orc couldn't get a word out before the elf mentioned speaking somewhere more secluded. He quickly went on the move again, leading the way to what Oswald assumed was another room. The criminal didn't bother waiting for the prince to catch up. The half-orc quickly got up and began to follow the criminal. He moved himself through the crowd, people seeming to move out of his way without the elf asking. Oswald frowned slightly, curious about the air the man had about him. He didn't have time to think on it as they continued through the building.
Oswald felt confident as he continued to followed the stranger. They had the ebony ring and no one knew who they were. People also didn't seem to care about the deal between the criminal elf and the half-orc. A sense of eagerness came over the prince. Soon they would have answers. Soon they would know more about the shadowy figure who haunted their minds. Soon they could deal with Ga-Julei.

The elf lead them into a room through a door that sat on the back wall of the building. He gave a slight nod to man who was standing just besides the door who nodded back, opening the door. Striding into the room, he quickly made himself at home on one of the couches he kept in there. It was something of an office for him, though it looked more like a den. There were a few chests against the back wall, and various end tables. There were three bookshelves, each shelf packed nicely with texts and spell tomes, and various paintings and maps adorned the walls alongside a few mounted weapons. There were two couches, and three chairs. Between the two couches was a longer table, headed with two chairs at either end. The third chair was stationed at a desk that was towards the back, and generally out of the way.
“Have a seat,” the elf murmured, having already made himself rather comfortable. The demon looked around as they entered the room, turning slightly as the door was closed behind them. Interesting... What he could only assume was a guard outside of the door, something like a den, and he looked rather comfortable...

The stranger led them though the building and into a back room. There was a man standing guard outside who opened the door for the pair. He recieved a nod from the elf, swiftly returning it himself. Oswald regarded the man for a moment. The room was important- likely some sort of private area the elf claimed -otherwise there would be no reason to guard it. The prince closely trailed behind the criminal and noticed the doors close behind him. Slight unease rose in his chest. Of course the feeling had arrived and disappeared on and off throughout the day, but everything there had been a reason for it. Their current situation was no different. Like before, he pushed the feeling away and let the confidence and eagerness replace the feeling.
Once inside, he took a look around the room. The elf had settled himself on one of the couches in the room, quickly getting comfortable. Oswald took note of the chests flesh with the wall as well as the bookshelves. They were stacked full with books of varying sizes and thicknesses. It wasn't as vast as the prince's collect back at home, but it was considerably sizable. Oswald was impressed with the display of the room. The maps, paintings and weapons on the walls, the table between the pair of couches, and the small desk in the back. It was rather cozy.
The elf told him to sit. The half-orc gave halfhearted nod and took a seat on the second, unoccupied couch. He wanted to face the contact. It would give him a better read on the man. At least his more obvious emotions. Oswald wasn't the best at reading people, but he knew enough to get by. He fixed his gaze on the other man. "I believe we should get down to business. I have what you want and you have the information I want. What do you say?"

Cruva drank in the room, glancing at each map on the wall rather than the weapons and the paintings. He recognized the location that each map depicted, and each had various pins in them and different colored indicators that likely meant something to the man. Still, he didn't say anything, rather looked at the elf as Oswald sat down on the opposing couch. A good choice. Eyeing the elf, he realized that he seemed rather relaxed in this room almost as if he spent a large amount of time here. Well, at least it was a smaller room, and it seemed there was only one way of entry and exit. It was only when the other sat that he finally got off his shoulders, claiming a spot for himself on the couch.
The elf grinned a little as he watched the half-orc claimed a seat for himself. It didn't take long for him to get to the point, however. He sat up a bit, giving a slight nod. "Fine by me," he murmured, setting out his hand. "The ring." It was a simple demand, but he knew what he wanted. He was a man of his word, but he wanted what he asked for first. Just like the man had no reason to trust him, he had no reason to trust this stranger. He'd never seen his face in here before, which made him a possible threat.

The prince watched Cruva climb from his shoulders and settle elsewhere on the couch nearby. He eyed the elf for a moment, making Oswald wonder if the criminal would suspect something off about the cat disguised demon. He turned his attention away from the guard and towards said elf as he agreed with the prince's proposal. The half-orc nodded. Oswald pulled out the ring and held it up for the elf to see. He didn't give it to him. The half-orc was no fit in dealings with criminals. He was too nervous and hated all the secrecy and constant lies. Despite that, he was no fool. There was a chance that if given the ring the elf would not fulfill his end of the bargin.
"I don't mean to be rude, but I don't trust that you'll hold up your end of the deal. Before I give you the ring, I want to know what you know about Ga-Julei. I will give you the ring after that." He wasn't sure how the criminal would react. He hoped the man would simply agree, but being in a place he was clearly familiar with, tbere were risks with that. He could easy take the small object by force and the half-orc wanted to avoid such a thing. If a conflict arose, he would surely be on the losing end.

"Unfortunately, that's not how this works," The elf responded smoothly, clearly not worried about what was going on. He had no reason to be. "You're a new face around here - I have no reason to believe you've brought me the genuine product without seeing it myself." Placing his elbows on his knees to support his upper body, he leaned forward a little as he eyed the man across the table. "I don't know you, and I have reason to suspect that your feline friend is something more than just that. Now, I understand why you wouldn't want to trust me, but keep in mind I had all the means to get that ring myself, and I don't let my aids go without getting what they asked for. I am a man of my word."
Cruva only watched the man who seemed to be making where he stood on the matter quite clear. While he himself understood the concept, he was at least bound by his genetics to fulfill a task he agreed too. The elf before them could only give his word. Who was to say he wouldn't turn around and give them nothing? Well, at least one thing, he supposed. There was no hint of a lie lingering in his words, so at least there was that. He relaxed a little, slowly sliding into a laying position. He was unconcerned about the other thinking he was something else - that much was obvious. So long as he was unaware of what he was, there were no problems.
"See? That cat of yours seems rather relaxed about all this." He recalled how he'd been hissed at only an hour or two ago when he stated he knew nothing of Ga-Julei. While it could have been a coincidence, he couldn't help but feel as though he was being analyzed every time the feline's eyes landed on him. It was an odd feeling, though maybe only because of its origin. Besides, it's eye color threw him off a bit. Not one cat he'd seen in this kingdom shared anything close to it.

Oswald considered the man's words for a moment, drawing in a slow breath. The elf leaned forward slightly, mentioning how the prince was a new face and how he couldn't be trusted. He finished off by talking about Cruva, saying how he suspected he wasn't a real cat. He was right of course, but Oswald wasn't about to let him know that. Overall he didn't trust the prince and he could hardly blame the criminal. The prince glanced towards Cruva as he adjusted himself. He seemed relaxed, which made Oswald feel calmer. He shifted his gaze back across the couch to the elf.
"See?" The man said, gestering to the demon guard. Oswald glanced at the black cat and noticed how he seemed relaxed. If there was a problem with the criminal, he would've let the prince know. Oswald considered the man's word before finally nodding. The elf made a fair point about checking out the ring. For all he knew the half-orc had found one that looked similar and was trying to scame him. He glanced once more at Cruva before leaning over and handing him the ebony jewelry. He waited a few moments to give the man a chance to check it over.
"So, how about the information I wanted?"

Cruva was certainly paying attention to what was going on. His eyes were open and his ears were perked, however, he saw no reason to be on alert, not yet, anyway. For somebody so integrated with illegal dealings, the elf seemed rather honest. None of the words he spoke alerted him to anything, and he didn't pick up on a sense of ill intentions. It seemed the man truly meant to make good on his deal, so relaxing a bit seemed to be in order. After all, speaking up wasn't completely in his best interests. Acting like a cat, however, was. So, relaxing also seemed to be the best way to indicate he found no reason not to believe the man's words.
The elf grinned as the half-orc assessed the feline beside him before handing over the small piece of jewelry. He took it, assessing it closely. The inscriptions on the inside of it followed what he had expected, and it seemed to emanate a unique energy, one that was rare to find. Slipping it onto his middle finger, he made note of the feeling, and the way the glowed briefly, runes appearing on the band in a burnt orange color before disappearing once more. Good - the ring was legit, and would serve its purpose so long as it remained on his person. Leaning back into the couch once more, amber eyes settled on the half-orc once more just as he requested what he had come for. Ah, right, information.
"Yes, I recall you said you had questions about our infamous Ga-Julei. Were they specific, or would you prefer generalized information?" It was a genuine question, as there was a difference. Depending on what they considered general information, he could leave out the identity. Should he ask for an identity, he'd give it as he was truly a man of his word. It wouldn't be fun, but he would provide it, alongside any other specified information.

The half-orc silently watched as the man examined the object. After a few minutes, he seemed satisfied with what he was given and placed the black object on his middle finger. Oswald was relieved, even if he was unsurprised by the results. They had brought him what he desired, now it was their turn for information. The elf regarded him once more before finally speaking. He asked about his questions, whether or not they were specific. It was finally time for questions. Oswald opened his mouth then immediately closed it. He hadn't thought about anything super specific to ask the elf.
"Well I think a general overview on the information you have will be good. As for questions, I have a few. Who is Ga-Julei exactly? What does he do? Where does he operate?" Those were specific enough questions. If the elf had aswers to them, that worked for Oswald. Once more excitment began to grow within the prince. He was finally doing something good for the group.

The elf simply waited for him to ask his questions, making himself comfortable once more on the couch. He raised an eyebrow when the half-orc opened his mouth only to close it again. It was another moment before he opened it again and actually spoke. Right, he should've known the other would want to know how Ga-Julei was. The other two questions fell into the same category for him. Still, he took a moment to mull over the questions in his mind, wondering exactly how much he needed to divulge. Depending on what the information was for, it didn't quite matter. After all, it was merely a faceless pseudonym...
Rolling his shoulders, he heaved a gentle sigh. "Ga-Julei is an information collector. Not quite like Thistle, but the kind that gets people into trouble. He essentially serves as a third party for those who can't do the dirty work themselves. You tell him what you want, and he gets it done - for a fee, of course." Pausing, he raked delicate fingers through his hair. "I'm sure his identity will be a little disappointing... Kind of a shame I couldn't do a bigger reveal, hm? Ga-Julei is a pseudonym I picked up quite sometime ago, and you're currently sitting in the main area of operations."

Oswald paled, his heart dropping from his chest. The man they had been looking for was right in front of him. They were in the very room where most of the planning happened. It was likely where they had planned the attack in Zaestro and the burning of Otyx. The prince tried to push away the unease, the fear that plagued his mind as he faced the elf ahead. It was almost overpowering. As he forced the feelings down, it was replaced by a sudden, sharp anger. An anger he had never felt before. An anger he didn't even know he could felt. Oswald tried to force the feeling down, but it was more diffcult to control it. He hated the feeling, but also couldn't help but welcome it. He stared at the elf for a moment before finally letting out a deep breath. He closed his eyes for a moment, feeling the anger subsiding some. Eventually, he carefully nodded.
"So how did you get involved with the fire and attack at the party? Who hired you?" He finally asked. He needed to get as much information out the man as possible. Even despite his anger and fear, he had a job to do and he wasn't going to leave until he was satisfied with the answers. He let his brown eyes slide towards Cruva for a moment, slightly curious of he would react. A part of him doubted he would do thing. He was rather skilled at blending in with his current form. Another part wondered if he would do anything because of the contract with Kiran.

Cruva had been listening rather idly until he made his identity known. He lifted his head, eyes a little wide as he stared at the elf. So, he was the man behind the job, behind the attack and the fires. Well, sort of - he was the man who did the deed, but not the one who requested it. He stared at the man as he stared at the prince. This was quite the revaluation, and before he could have his own reaction. First unease and fear, though it was quickly followed by an anger so strong he’d classify it as rage. It felt good to feel it rolling off the half-orc, he was feeding off of it. In these few moments, he used this short lived energy source to alter the cat. Sure, it would make it a permanent companion, but that wouldn’t be too bad. By the time Oswald calmed himself down, he’d doubled in size and was about the size of a half grown lion, and had reclaimed his second set of eyes. And for a brief moment, a twinge of fear sprung from the elf as they met eyes, and he bared his teeth in reply.
Ga-Julei looked back towards the half-orc as he spoke up once more. How he got involved... the pair were angry judging by their new demeanor. Especially the newly enlarged feline... who had two pairs of eyes. It was a fair reaction, he supposed, depending on their relation to the events. “I was hired by somebody on the court. Said they were following orders. Unless you planned on confronting them, I’ll only divulge so much,” he admitted. “They owe me payment, though I can only threaten them so much.”
Pausing the elf heaved a mild sigh. He wasn’t exactly happy with his own situation, however it seemed that another was emerging. It was likely the half-orc before him was at least in Zaestro when the incident occurred. Perhaps this could work to his advantage, though it currently seemed like a long shot. After all, he was the current man behind the incident rather than just a third party assistant, which was his true role. The fact of the matter was, while he had even the court in his pocket, he could only do so much to them. He wasn’t a real threat in their eyes when it came to personal matters such as this. “Hypothetically, it seems we can help each other. If you’re open to such a thing, that is.”

The prince watched the transformation beside him, eyes slightly widened. His anger ebbed away, briefly replaced by wonder as he watch the cat. Not only had it doubled in size, it now sported two sets of eyes instead of one. Oswald would likely had been more impressed had it not been for their current situation. He glanced back towards the elf, his demeanor going from confident to what seemed to be unease. Good. Be afarid, the prince thought bitterly. A part of Oswald wanted to get up and go find Kiran. She would want to be involved. However he stayed where he was. Despite the contempt he held for Ga-Julei, he needed to keep his emotions in check and stay in control. The elf wouldn't get away.
The man swiftly answered his questions. So someone on the court...a royal perhaps? It seemed to be the most likely answer judging by the evidence he had presented. At the very least it was got to find out. Knowing that he still had to paid also was interesting. Perhaps they could do something with that, use that fact in their favoe. Despite the new, useful information he collected, the man quickly clammed up. It seemed he was unwilling to reveal anything else. Oswald frowned, determination ever present in his gaze. He wasn't about to let the elf stop talking. Ga-Julei then brought up his own offer. Help each other? The idea was enticing, though Oswald wasn't sure he was ready for a deal. Even still it would be foolish to not hear him out.
Oswald leaned forward. "Alright, I can consider it. However, it'll depend on the nature of how we can 'help' each other. What exactly are you proposing?" He watched the man for a moment, curious as to how they could help each other. He wasn't going to blindly agree to anything until he knew what was up. It would be incredibly stupid. That and he didn't exactly trust the man despite his honesty. There was something off about him, beyond the fact he was behind the attacks, though Oswals couldn't put his finger on it.

The elf had no reason to spill information that would likely get him killed. In addition to that, he'd agreed to give only information on Ga-Julei, meaning he didn't have to answer any question about the person who had hired him. The only incentive he truly had seemed to be the feline who was at the very least some sort of shifter, perhaps with daedric origins. Still, it almost wasn't enough for him. This was his building, his den, and he wasn't going to be bested or killed here - it simply was not an option for him. So, he proposed a deal, one that clearly caught the half-orc's interest. Smart man.
"Like I said, they owe me for holding up my end of the job. You showed up approximately two days ago with three other people, and now you're here, asking about me. Which can only mean you were there the night of the party and the people I sent on their behalf can't keep their mouths shut." Ga-Julei kept tabs on everybody. If it seemed people of interest came in, then he was notified of their location, plain and simple. It was never about what they wanted, but rather where they were. He liked knowing about the happenings of Ereva, especially when he was this heavily involved in something that he typically wouldn't concern himself with. "It's very clear you want something that has less to do with me and more to do with why the attack was ordered, yes? I could be a wonderful aid so long as I get what I deserve.
"The city is in my pocket. The guards, shopkeepers, the people you likely view as nothing more than criminals, and a few from the court. I give you whatever you need to ensure you get whatever it is you came for, you make sure I get paid for my previous job. Naturally, I wouldn't ask you to pay me as well. Getting what I'm already owed would be payment enough in my eyes." Pausing, he leaned back into the couch once more, watching the half-orc. To him, this was a very generous offer. He had more than enough resources at his disposal, and to offer them up was rather nice of him. "If you'd like to decline, there are to be no more question on who hired me, or I'll politely ask you to leave. Our previous agreement was in regards to information about myself, not the people who hire me."

So he knew about the party's arrival. Of course he knew. He was Ga-Julei, the information collector. He would want to know everyone who arrived and left the town. It was the base of his opperations. Oswald and his companions weren't exceptions to this. In fact they were likely a rather odd sight. A small group in desert clothes, one of which was a half-orc, was bound to draw some attention from the locals. He mentioned the party again. Oswald tried his best to reveal nothing. He wasn't just at the party, he was going to be assassinated by the spies that were sent. It was obvious by the questions that Oswald had turned his interest to the court. To whoever hired the elf criminal. After a moment, he nodded a reluctant confirmation.
As if to confirm his earlier suspicions, Ga-Julei mentioned how he controlled the entier town in a way. It made sense. A powerful person like the elf would have important people at his service, especially at his base of operations. Eventually the elf stopped speaking, leaving the half-orc to consider his offer. Oswald hesitated. He didn't want to make any sort of agreement without Kiran present. She was the one who decided to go into Ervea. It was her home that was attacked. Her kingdom had lost a lot more than his had. However he was presented an interesting oppertunity. He had a chance to find out who was truly behind the attack, beyond the formerly faceless Ga-Julei. It was also likely his only oppertunity. The half-orc was rather conflicted.
"So let me get this straight, you want payment from whoever hired you and you want me to retrieve it for you? Or at least let them know they owe you. And after I complete that, you'll give me the aswers I want, correct?" The man leaned back on the couch, seeming to relax once more. Oswald continued to eye him. There was a chance to decline the offer, an out. Although he was tempted to just leave, the prince found himself staying around. They were so close to getting what they needed. He felt it would be foolish to leave now. So he stayed, watching the elf across from him.

The elf raised an eyebrow at the way he repeated his offer. He was in the right track, but not quite. “I don’t think you understand what I’m offering. It’s not just information. I’m offering you my services, the tools I have at my disposal, my assistance,” he said simply, watching him carefully. He thought he had been rather clear the first time, though it seemed she was wrong. “I’m not offering a job, it’s a mutually beneficial relationship. I make sure you get what you want, and the process will ensure that I get what I want. Get it?”
The demon listened to the exchange, a little surprised at the informant’s offer. It was rather generous, though he couldn’t help but think there was something more. Something he wasn’t mentioning. Then again, he thought this about a lot of people. Besides, there was no hint of a lie, and as it stood there was no ill intention. Yet, he couldn’t help but not want to accept, at least not without a little insurance. He was insurance enough, really, but he couldn’t be around everything at once. Not that he cared, but Kiran did. “And how do we know you won’t betray us after the fact?”
Ga-Julei’s eyes snapped to the creature in the opposite couch, clearly surprised and a little unnerved. “Oh... it talks.” He’d never seen a creature like this before, and to say he was but startled was an understatement. “I’m not really the type to play games unless I’m crossed...” he wasn’t entirely sure what else he could say on the subject.
Cruva simply stared the man down, realizing quickly the return of fear. Oh yes, he did more than talk. He did lots of things, and murder was one of them. He fed on the fear, using it to complete his alterations to the feline he’d decided to inhabit for the time being. It only took moments, but when he was done he was the size of a lion, had developed a second row of teeth, both upper and lower canines protruded just slightly out from his mouth due to their length, and his claws were imbued with poison. “Rather honest considering your line of work, aren’t you?”
There was a brief silence, but the elf did nod. “I’m a collector and specialize in blackmail. I’ve no reason to lie.” There was another moment before he looked to the half-orc once more. “Do we have a deal?”

Oswald's eyes widened slightly as the elf explained the deal once more. He was presented a unique oppertunity, one that few people likely got. They would work alongside what he could assume was one of the most powerful informants in the kingdom. In return, they got what they wanted- information on whoever hired Ga-Julei for the attack. The half-orc paused for a moment before noding. "Yes, I understand." There was a brief silence before Cruva spoke up. He mentioned the risk of betrayal against the party. Oswald was surprised he decided to speak, but didn't show it. His eyes wandered towards Ga-Julei who was quite uneasy at the new prospect. The feline talking certainly worked in their favor.
"Yeah, it talks," Oswald echoed. After a moment, the elf continued on, and explained how he only retaliated if he was crossed first. That's fair, the prince thought. He was sure the others felt the same. Beside that, he wasn't worried about that because they wouldn't betray the man. They had no reason to. The half-orc simply nodded in reply, not speaking any further. He glanced towards the demon. Cruva shifted again. Now the cat was fully lion-sized with its teeth protruding from its jaws. Even Oswald was slightly unnerved by the transformation, though he didn't show how he was feeling. He didn't know of he succeeded or not.
The newly changed Cruva mentioned the man's honesty. Truthfully it surprised the prince just how honest the elf had been with them. Criminals hid stuff and were usually dishonest. The elf had been relatively straightforward with them and if he could gain something from the deal, it would be foolish to betray them. Of course Oswald didn't know what he expected to gain beyond wealth. He also didn't care too much about it. After reiterating that he wouldn't betray them, the elf asked for a deal again. Oswald thought it over once more, still a bit conflicted. After a moment, he drew in a deep breath and nodded.
"I believe we have a deal." Even as he said the words, regret and guilt flooded him. He didn't talk it out with Kiran and get her input. Beyond that, she was almost dead set on desposing of Ga-Julei. How would she react when she found out what he did? Could it effect their friendship or even the peace between their kingdoms? Even with Cruva there to explain thins, would she listen to either of them? The half-orc couldn't be sure and wondered if he made the right choice. Oswald bit his lip, then sighed. He would have to deal with that when he spoke to the Zaestrin royal again.

Right. It shifted and talked - this made for a creature he didn’t particularly want in his office, though he didn’t have much a choice. He’d agreed to answer questions, and now he was trying to strike another deal. A partnership, really, but who was keeping track? The fact of the matter was, it seemed like they could help each other, and he wasn’t going to let some weird cat prevent him from getting what he wanted. Sure, he could go about other methods but this one was the most convenient. Plus, it would shift blame. Sure, he’d order the attack, but he wanted wanted it. Somebody had hired him, and he simply did the work. Nothing more, nothing less. Though, it was likely the man across from him didn’t view it the same way that he did. Still, so long as he got what he wanted, he supposed it didn’t matter what the other man thought.
When the half-orc finally answered, Ga-Julei grinned at him. “Wonderful. Well, would you like to begin now, or do you prefer letting the rest of your companions know?” He didn’t care either way, but it would be better if they started as soon as they could. Though, he supposed it would also make sense to have the entire party know what was going on if they came together.
“We’ll tell the others,” Cruva answered almost immediately. There was no sense of creating a plan if the others didn’t agree. There was no sense of creating a plan if his summoner would reject it simply because of who they were working with. He received a slight nod and a wary glance, though the nod was all he had wanted. He turned to look at Oswald, mostly wondering if he had any further questions for the elf while they had his attention.

The demon answered before Oswald could say word. The prince simply nodded in agreement with Cruva. He had no objections. The half-orc wanted to talk it over with Kiran before they made any further decisions. He had already done enough without her present and refused to do more. She was just as involved as he was, if not moreso. He turned his attention back towards Ga-Julei. "When would you want to meet again?" The man asked. He wasn't sure how much longer the princess intended to stay in the town, but he knew she would likely be willing to stay longer if it meant answers.
The cat-disguised demon glanced towards the half-orc, as if wondering if he had a thing to add. Oswald did have one more question. It was more of a curiosity than anything and as part of their deal the man would have to answer. "What's with the name Ga-Julei anyway? I can assume it's not your real name, correct?" It wasn't something truly important to him, though he wondered of there was a way to find put more about the man with that informarion.

"Tomorrow - how does noon sound for you?" The elf asked, head tilting slightly to the left with the question. He personally didn't have much going on at the time, so it worked best for him. The next time he had was rather late at night. He had a few meetings between the two time-frames and something else that he wanted to take care of. Not that it was any of the half-orc's business. Still, it was best for them to get to work as soon as possible, so noon was the earliest he was willing to see any of the party. He could have offered an earlier time, but he liked having the mornings to himself, quite frankly.
It wasn't until another question was posed that he raised an eyebrow. His name? Of course it wasn't his real name! If he were to use his real name, he'd easily be caught. "Of course it isn't - I picked it on a whim. No trace of a Ga-Julei on the kingdom's census, and it isn't of Erevan origins." A pseudonym worked much better, and those who actually saw his face were bound by their equal desire to not be caught. That, and whatever he had on them. He was the type to do his research on his partners as well as those he hired, and the half-orc before him would be no exception.

Oswald nodded. "Noon works for us." He assumed as much at least. Kiran would probably be fine with it. He didn't know or really care, about how the thief felt, though. He wasn't entierly sure of they would even bring her along. They would worry about that later. He turned his gaze back towards the elf as he answered his question. The half-orc nodded before glancing at the black, lion-sized cat. He slowly got up and regarded Ga-Julei for a moment.
"If that's all, my companions and I will see you tomorrow. Thank you for answering my questions." He got up and signled Cruva to follow him. The young man said nothing more as he turned towards the door, ready to leave the room.

The elf only hummed in reply, nodding slightly. Good, then they had a time to meet, and he could be done for the night. Well, assuming nothing came up, that is. He stood, moving towards his desk as the half-orc spoke. "Mhm - until tomorrow, then." He didn't really care for how long it took them to get out of the den, but he figured they would find their way out with ease. After all, there was only one point of entry.
The demon got down from the couch with ease, falling into step with the prince. He took in the details of the room once more, wondering if there was something more to it. Surely there was - the room wasn't particularly large, although it wasn't small either. Still, he had a feeling that there was more to it. He didn't speak on it through, rather leaving the room once the door was opened. He received some looks from other patrons, generally a double-take of surprise, a few of fear, and a couple filled with curiosity. It wasn't surprising to him, nor did he stop to pay attention to them.

The prince could tell people were either staring or taking another look towards them as they passed through the main room. Oswald drew in an uneasy breath as people watched them leave. Although he doubted anyone would stop them- mostly due to Cruva's intimidating appearence -he still couldn't help but feel nervous. Eventually the half-orc reached the door and the dwarvish-looking woman opened it. Oswald let the demon go first before trailing closely behind him. Now on the path of the alley, the weight of the situation suddenly fell on the prince. I just spoke with Ga-Julei. I just spoke with Ga-Julei! I got us a deal and I came out fine! I did it! A wave of excitment and a surge of confidence flooded the man for a moment, leaving him grinning. The thought of Kiran still lingered in the back of his mind, however the prince decided to focus on his accomplishment.
The prince quickly lead the way out from the alley and into the streets of the small city. He didn't want to stay there any longer than he needed to. Night had settled upon the town. The only light came from the buildings and enchanted street lamps in the streets. As far as he could tell, there was no one on the cobbled paths besides him and the guard. Once they were far from the building and Oswald felt safe enough, he finally spoke up. "What did you think of that?" They, obviously, couldn't say much while in the presence of Ga-Julei and the occupants of his building. Now that they were outside and a few streets over, they were able to talk without concern of being overheard or spied upon.

He could feel the other's unease growing as they walked, though as soon as they were back in the alley, it seemed to morph into worry and was masked by something an angel would likely be able to name. Still, he didn't bother acknowledge it verbally as they pair made their way to to the main streets of the town. Before long, Oswald was speaking up, asking for his opinion on the event. His handling of it, or the general idea of everything that had just happened? They were two very different concepts, however, the answers weren't too different. "Went better than expected," he responded after a moment. "You seem to work well under pressure. Though, he will ask who we all are."
It was something he'd noticed before they left - no clarification was requested on who the prince was. Then again, he also never asked what kind of creature he himself was. Still, he was an informant and a collector all the same, so it wouldn't be surprising to find out that he would know who was who by tomorrow afternoon. "I'm sure Kiran will be pleased to hear of your progress. I believe she's already grown tired of being here."
