Atlis tightened his grip around the straps of his satchel. The pool of emotions that poured from Olwens lips not only drew his attention to her tightly, but stirred his heart. Things have been really hard the past few months, and losing his best friend and sister to one of the most dangerous and hard jobs in any kingdom didn't make things easier. After a moment, he put a hand on her shoulder, allowing her warmth to spread through him. "I trust you." He said, his voice thick with sincerity. He offered his crooked half smile and look around. Suddenly and then all at once, he noticed that they were not on the path bath to their home. He slowed his pace and looked up at the sky. "Were going the wrong way..." He said, turning his feet to head in the right direction.
Evanora looked up at the sky, Basils feelings sending lightning bolts of fear and regret through her heart. "What was that." She stated, slowing her horse. She knew that it could not have been one of the guards from her kingdom, they did not scout from above. she watched her brother with eyes as large as the moon.
Eadrid opened her eyes, her body weary. After a moments rest, the thoughts flooded back into her mind. Someone else was in the woods with her son and Olwen. Forcing herself to refocus, she could see once more. with her mind, she ordered the large flying creature to circle around and catch another glance and the two travelers. She was able to see for a split second before she detached her mind from the creatures. It was the kings son who she had helped when he was a small child. what is his name tho... she thought to herself. Basil. her thoughts were loud. She knew that if she was not careful, Basil would be able to link his mind to hers, if he remembered how to do it. He was young when she taught him, and she wasnt sure how much the King had let him retain from the lessons she would give from long ago. She stood ot her feet and carefully climbed down the tree to the safety of the ground. Being down here, she would be able to hear things better. Seeing out of the eyes from a different being was very difficult and energy consuming, so she needed to be careful.

Okay, I cannot make this stuff up.
i woke up this morning to go to work right? 5am. I went to go sit in my car and my passenger window was smashed in and stuff was missing out of my car. So I called the police and they said they couldnt do anything because it was cold outside.
WHAT.
So i didn't go to work today because me and my boyfriend have been trying to figure out what to do, I only have $40 in my bank account so I cant get it fixed either.
Bro. Can I just be happy in life? Is that literally too much to ask.
Also, take your time, I totally understand, lol

(That's ridiclous and I'm sorry that happened. I really hope everything goes well with your car and I hope the police actually do something about it. As I said, that's ridiculous.)
Relief rushed through the assassian. She even found herself relaxing as Atlis put a hand on her shoulder. Olwen glanced back at him and smiled slightly. The young woman prepared to move on, but stopped as Atlis turned. He was no fool. Of course he would realize they weren't heading to Virelith sooner or later. "That was intentional. I'm afraid I have lied. We aren't going to Virelith, in fact there's someone I want you to meet." Olwen hated being so cryptic with her friend. She wanted to tell him everything, but she could only imagine what the shock would do to him. Please don't go. Please don't go, she silently begged as she watched the prince for a moment.
-0-
So Evanora had seen something and now she was worried. "Don't be afraid. I'm sure it was just a bird or some other cute forest creature," the half-elf encouraged. As he continued on, he heard something. Bazil. He paused and searched around.
"Did you say something, Evanora?"

Atlis looked at lwen. "Someone you want me to meet...?" he was very confused, and there was no point in trying to hide it. where on earth is he taking me.... his thoughts were jumbled, making things cloudy in his head. "Who are we meeting?" He demanded. He wasn't sure if he was even going to get an answer, but he figured he could ask anyway.
Evanora turned to Basil, her mouth pursed. "I didn't say anything...." She said, her eyes narrowed on Basil. Before she could even say another word, a person stepped out from behind a tree a little ways up. Evanora flinched and instinctively grabbed her knife out from her satchel. "Basil." She hissed, ready to attack at any second. She wasn't sure who this woman was, but she looked kind of familiar... yet very.. barbaric.
Eadrid stepped carefully from out of the shadows of the tree, revealing herself to the travelers. She could see that the worry pulsing from the young girl, and the strong confusion from Basil. She lifted her hands to show that she was not a threat, and meant no harm. "I am here in Peace." She called, making her voice as calm and level as possible. "I am just looking for my son." She stated hoesntly.

(Ugh that really sucks. I hope you can get it fixed soon.)
Atlis stayed put. Olwen sighed in relief. He questioned about who they were going to meet. Of course he did. Reluctantly, the assassin didn't answer, hoping he would assume she didn't hear him. She continued along the path, hoping to find Eadrid soon. Soon enough the pair stumbled upon a clearing. The very clearing the assassian had left the former queen. She smiled for the first time in a while. "We're here!" She called above. Her voice echoed through the forest. Nothing moved or acknowledged her presence. Olwen frowned. Where was Eadrid? The young woman headed to the tree she left her in and climbed up half-way. The older woman was nowhere to be found. Where is she? She thought uneasily. As she gazed towards the ground, it seemed there were signs of the woman moving away. The assassian frowned as she got down. She could see clear signs of someone, likely Eadrid, moving away back towards the castle. Olwen sighed.
"Okay, I need you to follow me."
-0-
Bazil froze. What did he hear then? He took a careful look around before turning to his sister. Before he could give any words of comfort, someone stepped out from beyond the bush. What surprised him more was the knife his sister pulled out. Wide-eyed he glanced between Evanora and the stranger...only the older woman was no stranger. He had seen her before, a long time ago.
"I know you! You were a teacher to me about the magical animals! Unfortunately I've forgotten your name...But you say you were looking for your son? At this hour?" He paused for a moment and studied her. There was something more familiar out her. Something beyond old memories with the woman. He gasped, eyes widening further.
"Atlis?" He gasped. Now that he saw it, he could see their similar features. Their noses and kind eyes gave it away.

Edarid smiled ever so slightly at the half elfs words. So he had remembered her, and he was also smart enough to put two and tow together, and recognize her son in her. She nodded her head slowly, not wanting to throw off the princess and have another night of unneeded terror and bloodshed. "So you do remember." She cooed soothingly. "It has been many days since we've spoken, and I assume that this here is your.... sister..?" Eadrid studied the young girl. She was scared, yet within her limits. They had just crossed outside of their territory, but xlose enough that a quick gallop of her horse and she would be safe. Eadrid lowered her arms back down to her sides and took a weary step closer. "You do not need to be afraid." She murmured through the whisper of the trees to Evanora. She had gotten good at mood control, but thought it unwise to use it in this current situation, she wanted to feel everything her soon to be companions felt, an she wanted them to feel them also. "I am looking for my son." She repeated.
Evanora lifted the knife slightly higher as the woman came closer and lowered her guard. "Basil you KNOW this woman?" She said in disbelief. Anger shot through her for a split second. There were so many secret around that were kept from her she could scream about it all day. She shook her head and let her hand fall to her side, careful to guard her leg from the sharpness of the knife. "You cant be looking for your son. Your dead." She said mockingly, taking into remembrance the y stories atlis shared of his beloved mother being brutally murdered by his own father. "Unless were dead...." Her eyes growing wide, looking from side to side in a mocking way. She sneered at the woman and snorted. "Ridiculous." She retorted.
Atlis followed on, assuming his question had gotten lost in the wind. When the small group entered a cute little clearing, he noticed how his arm hair seemed to stand on end as though the flow of electricity seemed to be stronger in here than out in the wooded forest. He frowned when Olwen began to call for the person they had supposedly been looking to meet. "Who....?" He tried to ask before she cut him off and ordered him to follow her once again. Suddenly the wind shifted and an achingly familiar scent snuck its way into his senses. "no." He whispered and glanced around.

Olwen glanced back at the prince. Did he know who they were meeting somehow? She stayed quiet as she began to track Eadrid down, though kept an eye on Atlis. It didn't take long for her to find the woman's trail and notice that it lead back towards the castle. "Come this way," she said simply, gestering for the prince to follow her. It wasn't diffcult to follow the tracks and the pale moon helped light the way, though it wasn't like Olwen exactly needed it. For the next while, the assassian lead the way through the forest and followed the ex-queen's tracks. It wasn't long until the woods began to thin out some. How far did you go? The young woman narrowed her eyes as she quietly followed the tracks. Nothing seemed odd or out of place, then she heard voices. Olwen paused for a moment and signled for Atlis to do the same. As she listened, there was something oddly familair about the voices. Is that who I think it it? Drawing in a deep breath, the assassian let her hands linger by her swords as she approched whoever was speaking.
-0-
"Yeah I do. And yes, this is my sister, Evanora," the prince replied with a friendly smile. He glanced towards his sister, who wasn't sure how to take the new information. She was certainly confused and didn't seem at all happy with the situation. Bazil turned to his sister and offered a smile.
"Yeah I know her. She taught me about the various magical creatures many years ago," he explained to Evanora. Although he was happy that things seemed to be going well, his expression quickly fell and he visibly paled. "We were following them! He's with that assassian, Olwen I think her name is! We have to find them before-" His words were cut off by the sound of someone approching. He turned towards the direction of the noise, his eyes growing hard.
"Whoever's out there, show yourself!" Nothing happened for a moment, then someone stepped out. It was Olwen.
"Where's Atlis," he asked immedtialy.
"Relax. He's right here."

Evanora turned and stared in the direction of Olwen. Her mouth fell open and her eyes grew wide. She had Atlis with her, but to bring to his...mother...? Why didn't she just say something? They could have helped! Evanora moved her horse around so she could see both Eadrid and Olwen, keeping Basil at her side for security. "How do you for sure this is even who she says she is...?" She scoffed, a look of disbelief still on her face.
Atlis stayed behind Olwen, his eyes on the ground. His heart fluttered when he recognized Basil and Evanoras voice. Of course they wouldn't just leave him to travel with an assassin after they had pledged his loyalty! He was silly for thinking his new friends would just leave him to himself. Suddenly, confusion clouded his mind, a shadow of pure sorrow crossed his face. That achingly familiar smell was back, but a lot stronger than before. As Olwen stepped aside after announcing his presence, ice seemed to pump into his veins. What he saw made him freeze to the spot. "Mom?" He echoed in utter disbelief.
Edarid smiled and held out her arms. "Atlis." She said soothingly. She took a step forward to allow her son to see her more properly. She wasn't sure how he would take this meeting, seeing that this is not exactly how she had wanted it to go in first place. "My boy is all grown up..." She cooed again, taking Atlis into her hands, holding him an arms length away to get a good look at him. "You are so handsome..." She whispered, brushing some of his wild red hair out of his face. Just as she remembered, the freckles left on his cheeks from where the sun came and kissed him, the light red hair, still wild and untamed, just like his spirit. He definitely grew upwards in the last few years. Carefully, she lifted his chin to see his eyes. Warm tears dripped from his face onto her hand. "You're dead..." The young boy whimpered, years of pain and sorrow escaping from his lips. "You were gone.... we had a funeral..." The last few words seemed to crumble before they cold even leave his lips. "you lied to me....." He shook his head, taking a step back. "You LIED TO ME!" He screamed, thrusting himself away from the woman who stood in front of him.

Olwen quietly sighed in relief. So they reacted pretty well to her sudden appearence and weren't trying to kill her. That was good. Olwen turned her attention to the younger girl. Evanora questioned about Eadrid, which earned an eye roll from the young woman. Her blue gaze gaze drifted towards the princess for a moment. "Because I know who she is. Before I became...who I am, she was there for me." Moreso than my own mother, the assassian silently added as her eyes flickered towards the former queen.
Bazil looked between his sister, the assassian, and Eadrid. It was a very odd situation. He shifted his gaze behind the assassian as Atlis came into view. He smiled, relieved to see the prince was alright.
"Mom?" He called out. The half-elf didn't know what to expect from the redheaded prince. A flat stare and almost uncaring air wasn't one of them. Bazil stepped his horse aside towards Evanora as Atlis and Eadrid approched each other. The former queen was chocked up and eager to see his son. It was clear he wasn't feeling the same. Bazil watched the pair, though would occassionally look away. Should he really be there for this moment? Should he watch or pretend to look away? As he was struggling to make a decision, Atlis began to back away.
"YOU LIED TO ME!" Atlis yelled. Brazil's eyes widened. He didn't know how to react. He just stared in disbelief. The prince had been more quiet and even relaxed before. Now he was yelling. The prince drew in a breath and got off his horse. He carefully walked towards Atlis, reaching out his hand to try and comfort the other prince. As he did, Olwen made her way between the two of them. This is your fault, he thought as he glared after the assassian.
Of course Olwen noticed the way Bazil looked at her. She could hardly blame him for such a reaction. The assassian shifted a soft gaze towards Atlis. "You know why she had to," she whispered. Of course the prince had every right to be mad. He was left in a terrible situation with his father. But a part of her sympathized with Eadrid. Even envied it.

Evanoras hands shook with the intensity of the new situation. Shame filled her for she had been disrespectful towards a Queen, fellow royalty. She silently thanked her stars and elders for keeping Atlis safe, though she wasn't sure how to behave in this situation. She glanced at Basil as he looked at the ground, not sure if the two should leave. As the situation grew worse and Atlis began to yell, she watched as her brother dismounted his horse and strode towards the prince. Her eyes fluttered to Eadrid. The poor woman suddenly looked extremely tired and frail, as though her whole world had been shattered and the years of hiding had caught up to her. In that moment, Evanoras heart broke for the mother of Atlis. Evanora slowly got off her horse and stepped close to the shocked queen. her two soft hands caressed the frail woman, almost as though she was supporting her. She looked up into her soft green eyes and nodded slightly.
Eadrid stepped back in shock. Everything went quiet, kind of like she was underwater and everything was suddenly muffled. "Son..." Her voice cracked in sorrow. He had every right to be angry, all of her children did. But she did what she knew she had to do to survive. If only I could make him see that all I have done up to this moment has ben for you, Owlen, and your siblings... a quiet tear trickled down her cheek. Warm hands suddenly caressed her, bringing her back into reality. She stumbled slightly and looked down into the young girls soft and caring eyes. moments before this young girl was mocking her, yet now she seemed to be a different person. Eadrid didn't have the heart to try to sort things out at the moment, all she wanted to do was sit and cry.
Atlis held his arm out, refusing to let Basil come close to him. "You knew her?" The young prince asked in disbelief. "You look at her as though shes an old friend of yours.." Tears ran down his hot face, his cheeks flushed with emotions. As Olwen stepped in between the pair of Princes, he let out a snort. Snakes. All of you. Liars. Atlis shook his head, unable to cope with the current situation. So much was happening right then and there. His mother was alive, Olwen still cared about them and come found him, his father wanted to kill him for escaping the troubled kingdom of Virleth, Basil and Evanora were following them the whole time to make sure he was safe... Atlis put his heads onhis head and moaned, shuting his eyes tightly. There was so much noise! MAKE IT STOP He screamed in his head.
Eadrid felt his sons turmoil and internally called for the winged creature to cast his shadow over the small clearing. Suddenly things went silent. Shhh, my son. May there be peace." She thought, forcing her thoughts into Atlis head, just as she had done when he was a baby. She closed her eyes and concentrated, trying her best to clear the air of the intense mix of emotions.

Bazil approched the prince, only for the redhead to hold his arms out and give him a dark look. Then the Virelith royal turned his anger on the half-elf. He spoke about knowing his mother. Although he knew Atlis' anger was misplaced, he could hardly blame the prince. Bazil's green eyes grew soft and comforting. "Atlis, I didn't know. She never told me anything and just taught me a few things," Bazil said. He gazed at the other prince for a moment, a bit of guilt pulling at him. "I'm sorry." The half-elf had no way of knowing if it would help his new friend. He just had to hope it would calm down the situation some. As he watched Atlis, he sensed some magical presence. He glanced back towards Eadrid, who seemed to be the cause of it. She's trying to calm him down, isn't she, he thought to himself. He let his eyes drift back towards the other prince, hoping the queen's magic would help him.
Olwen silently watched all the royals. I've caused quite a mess, haven't I? She thought to herself. If she hadn't agreed to find Atlis, then perhaps things would've been alright. Of course there would've been orders for her death, but Atlis would've been safe. Of course he and Eadrid wouldn't have reunited and there was risk that the Virelith king would've had every royal in Zetta killed. Evanora approching and Bazil heading towards Atlis pulled her from her thoughts. Olwen tensed slightly as the princess approched. Only she went right past the assassian and headed towards Eadrid. There was a comforting air about her as she tried to help the queen. Olwen let herself relax as she watched the two.
She then glanced back at Atlis. He didn't seem to be doing well. Hands almost squeezed his head, the anger radiating off him was clear, and he looked pale. Olwen frowned. She wanted to comfort the young man, to tell him everything would be okay. But she stayed put. She would just make it worse.
(Hey so I was thinking and should we maybe have them all get caught by palace guards or something? Because that's what this needs, even more drama for the characters.)

Atlis looked at the ground, his eyes dull. "I just wanna sleep..." He moaned. He knew that there was no sense in making a bigger mess than there already was, and trying to comprehend everything at this exact moment was not a good idea. He had been walking for days now, and seeing that he had only eaten one meal in those few days, pure exhaustion seemed to sweep over him and take over. He looked up at the group of royals. They all looked concerned and quietly at him. Every single one of them were there for him. Although he wish he could've caught up with Ollwen in a slightly different way, sudden peace filled him knowing this his old friend was in there somewhere. He tried to give her a grateful smile, but it just came out as a half-effort smirk more than anything.
Evanora stood rooted to her spot. This grew eerily quiet. She shifted somewhat uncomfortably as Atlis looked around the group. He seems to be a little better... She silently wished that he would one day find the peace he had been searching for while he came to her kingdom. She slowly switched her gaze from Atlis to Olwen, and then from the Assassin to the Queen, and then back to Basil. She smiled to herself.
Eadrid closed her eyes for a moment to regain clarity of mind. this were quiet, and with Atlis gazing in her direction with his deep green eyes, she felt as though she could die peacefully. Taking note of the situation around her now, She slowly took a step towards her son and offered him a hand. "Lets get to a place where we can rest." She shared his exhaustion, and hoped that he would accept her hand and join her on this journey once again.

(I was going to post last night, but I just got so tired. So here it is today.)
The Virelith prince seemed to have calmed down some. That was good. The half-elf didn't approch Atlis any further though, believing it would be better to give him some room. Now that things seemed to have settled, Bazil was left wondering what to do. He and his sister packed up a few things for a journey, only to have Atlis brought back to them. On top of it, his mother was there and it was clear something needed to be worked out with them. Then there was the assassian. Bazil's gaze drifted towards her a moment, unsure of what to make of her for the time being. Instead he turned towards the others and clasped his hands together.
"Resting is a good idea. It's been a long day for all of us and I think it's wise to try and get some sleep. We can talk more about this tomorrow." He paused for a moment to gage the others thoughts.
Olwen glanced at the group for a moment. She had done one part of her job, but there was still covering everyone's tracks. It wouldn't stop the hunt for Atlis upon her failed mission, but it would certainly stall it. As she watched everyone, something caught her attention. Behind them, back towards the castle, she heard movement. Before the assassian could react, a large group of guards came out from the undergrowth carrying lanterns and weapons. A gruff-looking woman lead the way. She looked displeased and ready to attack if necessary. In a matter of moments, the small group was surrounded. Olwen reached for the weapons, but was quickly stopped by a blade being pulled towards her neck.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," a man growled. Even after she moved her hands away from her swords, the weapon still kept its place.
"The king doesn't handle trespassers lightly!" The leading woman yelled. "Come willingly or wou will face consequences. If you don't-" She stopped and narrowed her eyes at the group. The guard had caught sight of Evanora and Bazil.
"Prince Bazil and Princess Evanora? What are you doing out here? Did you get taken under my watch?" There was a bit of worry that laced her voice as she eyed everyone. The half-elf cleared his throat and stepped forward.
"I'm sorry to have worried you, Captain Val. However our friend Atlis here needed help, we assumed at least, so Evanora and I snuck away to help him." He gestered to the redheaded prince as he spoke. It was clear he was uncomfortable by the situation, though there was also only so much he could do about it.
"Alright," the older woman began, "and what about the women? That one especially looks like she's up to no good." The guard gestered to Olwen with her sword, eyeing her suspiciously. Bazil drew in a breath and nodded.
"They're both fine too." Val considered his words for a moment before giving a nod.
"Alright. It seemed there's more to this situation than what's obvious. I'm not sure your father will be happy to have this conversation." With that, the captain turned around and signled for everyone to began heading back towards the castle.

(lolo its all good, and I giggled so much while reading this.)
Evanora rolled her eyes. Of course her father would send out a patrol right when things were getting calmed down, and of course it was Val who led this one. Her dislike for that woman never did change, even when they were children. "Is this really necessary Val?" She huffed as she turned to her horse again. She looked at Basil for some reassurance, but was taken back when he seemed to agree with the woman. She rolled her eyes and mounted her horse.
Atlis narrowed his eyes and watched as Basil took charge of the situation. He just could never catch a break. He looked at his mother who was standing with her arm around his shoulder. She had helped him calm down and get a grip on reality, but now that things seemed to be taking another turn, he wasn't sure what to expect.
Eadrid nodded her head, hoping that maybe the king would give them mercy if he could recall the memories of when she taught Basil. She nodded to Olwen and Atlis, letting them know that hey would be safe. She let out a hifgh pitched whistle to alert the large flying thing over head to follow them from a distance. "Don't worry. We will not be harmed." Her eyes had an odd surety about them, yet they were calming.
