(( I really hope this is gonna end up to be a good reply ^u^" ))
Alex sat up with a grin stretching ear to ear. "Oh you draw? If you have anything I'd love to see them! Art has always been amazing to me to look at." Okay, so that last sentence may not have been too true. Yes, he loved looking at art. When he saw a drawing somewhere or even just graffiti on the walls, he would stand and stare at it. It was always gorgeous. But he hadn't always loved it, mainly just because he didn't remember if he did. Hopefully he always had... Gosh why was that so frustrating to not remember that??
Her story made that grin quickly vanish. "Oh..." he muttered, now feeling guilty for bringing up such a uncalled for question. "I'm sorry Angel." Oh boy what did he just do? He messed up, didn't he? Aw man... "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked. I'm sorry." Wow did he say "I'm sorry" a lot.
Time to try to make things better again. This sudden heavy air around them made him feel awkward and made breathing feel forced. "I bet it's cool though. To be in such a boring place and have such an awesome accent. I mean, I could listen to it all day! It's so different and unique. I bet people here want you to make speeches or something so they could listen to you more often!"
Well, that was a nice attempt, Alex. A little weird, a little awkward, but it was his awkward way of trying to make things better quickly. Hopefully she would smile about it, maybe they could change the subject...
Then he realized something. He chewed on his lip and sat up straight once more after he noticed he had already started to slouch more. "So were you out for a run earlier? I just noticed you look like you're wearing workout clothes. I bet you're dying for a shower huh? I know I would be!" he added with a laugh that he felt was maybe a little too loud. Exercise? Aw who was he kidding! Alex exercised as much as a Garfield the cat. If only he was as carefree as the lazy cat.

{{ it isn't a giant turd lmao. it is a beautiful post okay? okay. }}
Her brow furrowed as he continuously muttered a string of apologies, as if it was his fault that her false backstory was somewhat depressing. In her own opinion, it was a bit of a cliché story. Yet, she was glad that he didn't know the truth and only knew this fake identity. She was also pleased that he would never find out who she really was, feeling grateful towards Headquarters for once. After all, who would associate with someone who was raised by the Russian government at a young age to become an assassin? To befriend someone who was trained to be a machine that did nothing but follow orders and didn't hesitate to kill? She inwardly shuddered, glad that she was rescued by the United States, glad that she could shove her past behind her and into the depths of her mind.
When he changed the subject, Angelique gave him a quick flutter of a smile and a small sound of laughter escaped her throat. She was glad that he was somewhat trying to change her train of thought, pleased that he was making some sort of effort. Thinking about her past was difficult, would leave her bitter and made her lock herself up; away from the world. But she couldn't do that now, could she? She had a role to play, a job to fulfill. And she was most certainly not going to fail now.
"Oh, yeah. I went for a jog at the park down the street. It's kind of something I do by instinct, y'know? It's ingrained in my memory since I've been doing it for a while, a habit I suppose." She shrugged, as if going for a jog every single morning was something normal. She did it in Russia, did it at Headquarters, and would do it here. She couldn't help herself, really. It was what her body was trained to do.
"I'd shower but it isn't polite to leave a guest alone." Angelique admitted with a sheepish smile and another shrug of her shoulders. She could probably turn on a movie for him or give him a few of her sketchbooks to peer at while she hopped in the shower for a quick rinse. He most certainly seemed eager when she mentioned her artistic abilities, much like an eager puppy spotting its owner after a long day. She almost laughed at that: comparing the Asset to a puppy. If she ever mentioned that to Headquarters, they would think her brain was confused.
And in a way, it was.

(( I can't even ;3; You're just to sweet <3 ))
Alex nodded, he was right after all. Well, there's a first for everything. "I need to start exercising." he laughed, almost joking. "I could easily lose in a fight with a five year old. I think I was supposed to have noodles for arms." he added with another laugh, stretching his arms out to his side to give them a wave-like wiggle, to try to resemble noodles. Hah, if only he knew the irony of that. Losing in a fight to a child... That would probably have all of Headquarters laughing.
"Hey, don't let me keep you from feeling clean. I'm sure you deserve a nice shower after a workout so early in the morning." he told her and gave a rather long yawn, those noodle arms of his stretching over his head. He had almost forgotten about his previous night. It was a long one, for sure. Spent at the corner store all night from ten until seven. Only like two people came in the whole night, so he got bored easily. He could so go for a nap. If only Mr. Nelson would hurry up and get here... Well, maybe not. He didn't want to wish that and then the old man get in a wreck and get hurt and stuff. Talk about a guilt trip...
"Besides, you won't be leaving me alone." he added, giving Cow a glance to show his point. "I'll still have a babysitter if you take a break. I won't get into that much trouble." he teased with a wink. In his pocket his phone buzzed. Alexander took it out and glanced at the screen, seeing a text from his manager who was telling him he lost his key. Too late for that now, huh? He just shrugged and tossed the beat up device onto the couch beside him, yawning once more before he slouched back into a comfortable position.

{{ but it's true!!~ }}
She snorted somewhat indecently at his noodle arm comment. If only he knew what he was truly capable of, he would surely take back those words. Angelique was certain that he had the ability to even overpower some of the CIA's best agents, including herself. She hoped she wouldn't have to test that hypothesis, not having any desire to enforce violence upon Alex. Despite the hidden secrets locked in his mind, he was still human. He had a past, he had a family. That was all taken away from him, similar to Angelique. She just hoped he would never know.
"Are you sure you don't mind?" She questioned, getting up from her comfortable position on the couch. Yes, she was eager for a shower. The sweat and dirt clung to her skin and she wished to cleanse herself. It wouldn't take her long, probably a minimum of fifteen minutes to complete her cleansing ritual. Cow yowled in protest at her sudden movement, not too pleased that his warm pillow moved him from his spot. He huffed in disdain as he moved over to where Alex sat. He rubbed his head against the other's chest, settling himself on the Asset's lap as he shot a glance over at Angelique before closing his eyes and purring in content. He found another warm pillow.
Angelique maneuvered her way to the bookshelf against the wall, closest to the kitchen. Pulling out two thick, worn out sketchbooks and placing them on the coffee table in front of them. "You can peruse through those or just turn on the tv." She offered, pointing at the remote control that lay on the armrest opposite Alex. "I won't take long, I promise you." She assured him, a somewhat cheerful smile on her face before she turned around to hurry into her room.
It was somewhat weird, leaving the Asset alone to his own devices in her living room. But he had managed to remain normal in the time spent before the two had met. She was sure everything would be okay. Yet, she would rush just in case.

(( Ugugugug this is why I luv you buddy <3 ))
Alex's smile could have been assuring enough. "Well yeah. I don't want to keep you from doing things you need to do." he said, welcoming Cow into his lap by giving the black and white kitty a back rub, feeling the delicate purrs against his shirt. Alex gave a glance at the sketchbook with brown eyes, then looked back up at her. "Don't rush!" he called, seeing her always hurrying away.
He really liked Angel. She was just so nice and he could tell that she enjoyed his company, just as he enjoyed hers. And Cow, he enjoyed his company too. Living alone in apartment made him really appreciate people. But now that he was alone, Alex decided to make himself busy. He reached over to the top sketchbook and flipped the cover page over to start looking through them, enjoying each drawing and all the detail she had put into them all. Man she was good...
One sketchbook down and Alex was flipping through the next one, and by the time he finished that, she was still in the shower, so he settled on watching some TV. He pushed the power button and started flipping through the channels, and finally settled on a show on the Discovery channel. Apparently it was shark week, according to all the advertisements, and they had a documentary on Great Whites at the moment. They showed a lot of interesting things, like shark attacks, and people interacting with them in cages. Alex became pretty focused on it, so focused that he was spaced out from everything else.
((This may not be too good. I'm falling asleep xD))

She rolled her eyes at his statement, knowing full well that she was going to rush her shower. And it wasn't just because he was in his apartment, but also because it was something she was used to doing. One could never have much leisure time when they're always on call, or when they were given five minute shower breaks in Russia to wash off blood before training once more. It was just something she did, but he didn't have to know that.
Plus, there were weapons hidden among her apartment in every nook and cranny. The most of them were in her bedroom, but that didn't mean there wasn't a lot in the rest of the place. It wouldn't be good if he accidentally stumbled upon one of them, that's for sure. It would be quite difficult to explain why a rifle was hiding underneath the floorboards by the oven. They might trigger something in his memory and she certainly couldn't allow for that to happen. She shuddered at the thought, slipping into her shower. She hadn't stopped to check her reflection in the mirror, not wanting to see the scars that littered her body.
--
Pulling her sleeves down over her arms, pleased that they were longer than her hands, Angelique began to shuffle back to the living room. Her fuzzy socks slid across the hardwood floor and she thanked her blessings for having amazing balance. The perks of being a CIA agent.
A shower always made her feel better and she sighed in relief at her own cleanliness before peering her head around the doorway to check on Alex. He seemed enthralled with the sharks on her tv screen and she bit back a snort, not wanting to make herself known just yet. It was amusing, seeing a man as dangerous as himself being entertained with sharks.
Heading into the living room and seating herself quietly on the couch beside him, she let out a hum of approval. "I love sharks. Swam with them once a few years back."
