{{ THIS TOOK ME SO LONG I AM SO SORRY PLS DON'T H8 ME ;-; }}
When he reluctantly agreed to her proposal, a genuine smile made its way onto her face. Assimilating one's self into a completely new environment was difficult, even she understood that. After all, even she had to start somewhere. She couldn't be a professional at going undercover without any mishaps, that just wasn't possible. It took time, years even, to feel comfortable in her own skin, even if she wasn't acting as herself and had a different identity. So, yes, she understood where his behavior was coming from.
Baby steps, she supposed, baby steps would have to be taken to get him to trust her. But she was glad, glad that he was trying. It would help out in the long run, even without Alex realizing it.
"Really? That's great. Staying out here would do something awful to your pores, y'know. My apartment isn't too far from here, just on the fifth floor!" She called over her shoulder, already heading back towards the staircase. Sure, she knew she was being somewhat rude, but Angelique had the utter desire to take a quick shower and clean the sweat of this morning's workout off of her. And it didn't matter whether Alex was going to be in her apartment or not, she was going to get that damn shower.
Speaking of the Asset, she wasn't supposed to know his name. She had almost forgotten to introduce herself, how careless of her. A rookie's mistake, eugh.
"I'm Angelique by the way. My Father found my name to be amusing, with the word 'Angel' in it and all. Apparently, I was the complete opposite of that when I was younger." She shrugged, having to slow her movements up the stairs in order for Alex to catch up. She preferred to get back to her place as fast as possible, but not everyone could match her pace.

(( It's okay!! c: I've been busy watching reruns of jeopardy anyway x3 ))
When Angelique made a move to leave, Alex did his best to follow her. His legs were long enough to have strides that made him somewhat close to her pace, but he still lagged behind. This girl should could speed walk. Fifth floor huh? No wonder he'd never seen her yet. It was bad enough Alex had to go up two floors to get to his and risk bumping into people, or tripping over a step and making a complete fool of himself.
She had a pretty name. Angelique... Wish him luck remembering that. Any name with more than one syllable was pretty much his limit. Maybe that was why he preferred to be called Alex, because it was way easier to remember. Plus, Alexander was kind of too formal for the slow guy.
"I like that name." he commented as he caught up to her on the stairs. "I'm Alexander. I hate the name so I just use Alex instead." he added afterwards with another one of those awkward laughs that Angelique was probably already tired of. It was just the easiest way for him to make the air less heavy. Somehow it kept him from panicking or anything.
Well, that was kind of it for introductions. Now what? Alex had no idea where to go from there, so he just succumbed to his quiet self and just played follow the leader up the metal staircases to get to the fifth floor. All he could do was think over and over again that this wasn't a bad thing, that she was being nice. There was nothing bad up there, nothing to try to shank him or anything.

{{ again, with the quick responses. you put me to shame lol }}
"Alex, huh? I have a friend with that name but he spells it weird. With a k and an s, dunno why though. Maybe his parents wanted him to have a rough time with substitute teachers." She mused, continuing their conversation. From the looks of it, Alex definitely wasn't one to talk much. That would also prove difficult, but it was just another issue she would have to overcome. She could handle it. After all, she wasn't specifically chosen for this mission for nothing. She couldn't let Headquarters down, right?
Finally reaching her floor and making her way over to her apartment door at 5C, she let out a small sigh of relief. She could finally have that shower she had been desiring for so long. She began to unlock the door in one fluid motion, eager to head inside. As soon as she opened the entrance to her apartment halfway, the soft mews of a cat reached her ears and she let out a inhuman squeal. "Hello baby!" She cooed, bending down and scooping her cat into her arms.
She kicked the rest of the door open, trusting the Asset enough to close it behind him. Then again, he could be paranoid enough to leave it open as a means of escape for himself if he needed it. Her cat pawed at her face and brought her out of her thoughts. She nuzzled her face against his before finally placing him onto the counter. There, he sat, emerald eyes peering curiously at Alex and his head tilted to the side slightly. "His name's Cow." She gestured towards the feline with a small smile on her lips.
The name was obviously based off of his appearance. The cat was white with black splotches and was clearly chubby, revealing that he enjoyed eating way more than the average feline. Angelique began to rummage through her fridge, looking for a water bottle. She had already finished one back at the park and needed another to stay hydrated"Want one?" She questioned, holding the plastic bottle up in his field of vision. She had to keep up appearances and acting as a proper hostess was a minor detail.

(( Pffffft you put me to shame with the better posts. x3 Don't even start~!))
Alex nodded as she went to unlock her apartment. It wasn't an uncommon name, but hearing it spelt "Aleks" was pretty interesting. Why couldn't he have had that kind of name? Alex was just so bland and normal. Guess it fits the town though.
As they headed in, Alex heard the soft mews of a cat. Oh, he loved cats! The feline companion hopped into Angelique's arms and Alex swore he could hear him purring from the doorway. "Cow huh?" he muttered as he shut the door, walking over to the cat.
He knew better than to reach out and just pet one though, or to approach with hands behind his back or anything. Instead Alex slowly and carefully reached his hand out for the furry creature to sniff, then gave Cow a soft rub under the chin. "He's so handsome." he commented and glanced up to see a water bottle being held up in front of him. "Sure, thanks."
Alex walked over to grab one from her and broke the seal. One large swig was taken as the ice cold liquid greeted his parched throat. Heck, alexander never even realized how thirsty he had been. Water wasn't really one of his favorite beverages in the world, but this was great to him right now. Usually he enjoyed a nice glass of sweet iced tea or a Coke (Not Pepsi! He despised that brand), and maybe the occasional glass of the cheapest wine he could afford. It usually would taste like crap, but it was a nice change.

{{ lol omg, they aren't that good ^^; }}
When she shut the fridge door and leaned against the machine, taking a sip of her own water and humming in pleasure, her eyes surveyed the scene amongst Alex and Cow.
Huh, that was an amusing sight. Cow rarely allowed strangers to approach him. He'd usually move away to a different part of the room or leave the area completely. Or, he'd retaliate with a glare and a swipe with his claws. She didn't have him declawed, feeling as if the process was too cruel for her feline to undergo.
Cats had weird sense about things. Maybe Cow felt that somehow, Alex was special and allowed him to approach and scratch his chin. No matter what, it was still a special sight to see. One of the dangerous men in the world was here, petting her obese cat. In a way, it struck her as odd.
"Found him as a stray on the streets of Bee York City." She spoke up after a while, enjoying the serenity between the two of them. However, the quietness may have been awkward for Alex, seeing as how he acted before, and she wanted him to feel as comfortable around her as much as possible. That way, he would enjoy her presence and wanted it around him more often. It would allow her to keep watch over his interactions with the others around him, as well as learning more about Alex.
To her, it was intriguing how he still maintained to have his own, original personality despite having the mind wipe. The human mind was an interesting subject, it fascinated her completely.
"Do you need Mr. Nelson's number?" She questioned tapping a nail against the counter before turning her gaze over towards Alex. Because that was the entire purpose of his visit, right??

(( Pssshhhhhh oh whatevers~ They're awesome and you know it!))
Alex was just so entertained by Cow. He had always wanted a cat, but money said otherwise. After he payed his bills, gas, and a little bit on groceries, he was basically broke for a while. Man he needed a better job... Maybe then he could get a better pay and a cat! A little munchkin cat, those were the best. He was such a softie for small, furry animals.
"Poor little guy. No animal should have to be a stray." he muttered softly, moving to scratch a little behind COw's ear. He deserved all the pampering after living that kind of life. Occasionally Alex would see a cat or dog out on the streets. Most were malnourished and sad, and if he had the money, Alex would have taken in each and every one of them.
Angelique's question popped him back into reality. He turned to look at her with a short gaze of confusion, then he nodded and reached into his pocket for his phone. "Yeah, yeah." he rambled quikly, stuttering over the simple word both times. "I have his number on my fridge but..." he trailed off with a small laugh. "Guess it won't do me much good now huh?"
Leave it to Alex to do something stupid. What good would it do him is the apartment owner's number wasn't even around him in case of an emergency? Like now? Yeah it was good inside too in a nice place where it was easy to find, but he really needed to remember to make a copy to put in his wallet or, be like any other person with a phone, and just add the number into his contact list so it would be even easier!

{{ bless your heart, you're an angel }}
She nodded her head in response, mouth still a bit full with water. That would be embarrassing, talking so water would dribble out of her mouth. What kind of CIA agent would she be if that occurred?
She reached over Cow to pull her phone from its charger on the counter, the obese creature in her way. She didn't bring it with her to the park, thinking of the device to be a distraction to her mind from the beauty of the nature around her. That was a good thing about this town: forests were all around them.
He waved his fluffy tail in her face and she huffed at the feline, giving him a quick kiss on the head before tugging her phone towards her.
Angelique unlocked her mobile with her thumbprint, scrolling through her contacts to find the number she was looking for. It was specifically enhanced by the CIA for her private usage, seeing as how no one could have access to her fingerprints except them. If they fell into the wrong hands, problems would ensue and chase her to the ends of the earth. The job had its perks and its disadvantages.
"Alright, here you go." She chirped, sliding the device towards Alex. "You can stay here until Mr. Nelson comes, it's perfectly fine with me, I promise." She added with a nonchalant shrug. "Besides, Cow likes you and probably won't let you leave so soon."

(( My poor, tortured characters would beg to differ xD))
Alex waited while she scrambled through her phone for the old man's number. In the meantime he just occupied himself with his new friend, who now seemed to be singing through a gentle purr. Maybe he was destined to be that crazy cat person when he got old, who knows?
Once the device was in front of him, Alex unlocked his phone and put the number in. That was an important thing to him, to remember to do that. What if this happened again and Angelique wasn't around to help him? Boy would he be boned.
After the number was imputed, he reached over to turn off her phone screen. He didn't like it when people used his phone, and because of that he didn't like borrowing other people's phones too. It just felt odd. Besides, what if someone had dirty ears or didn't clean the germs off their phones when he borrowed it? Talk about gross! Ear wax was so disgusting. Which was probably why he didn't like earbuds..
"Thanks Angelica." he muttered, already showing that he wasn't good with names. He stopped and stared at her for a second, knowing that wasn't right. It didn't feel right. But he just shoved it off with an awkward smile. "I don't really have a way to get in until he does get here. So I really do appreciate it."
Maybe it was the cat, or maybe her hospitality, but Alex was starting to really unwind around her. He felt welcomed and he felt like she was trying to be his friend as much as he wanted to have one. Maybe losing his key was the universe talking to him, to tell him to just open up and talk to someone. Talk to a girl! He couldn't remember the last time to spoke this much to a girl.

{{ i'm actually crying bc "Angelica" }}
She opened her mouth to protest, to say that wasn't her name, to say that he got it wrong, to mention that he was off by a few letters. But then she thought the better of it and decided to keep her mouth shut. After all, Angelique wasn't even her real name anyway, so what was the point? She couldn't begin to imagine him having to remember the name Anastasiya, that would be such a hassle.It would probably take him years. But then again, she wouldn't have to worry about that. As sad it sounded, he'd never learn her true identity.
Angelique had the idea to ask him for his number when he handed her phone back over. She slipped it into her back pocket after checking to see that it was fully charged. After all, the moment to ask about it seemed right. She had her phone and he had his. It would be in case he had some desire or need to contact her again, or maybe if she wanted to ask him to go out and do something in the little town. Basically, anything for the excuse to get to know his actions and mannerisms well enough to send a report back to Headquarters. To tell the that he was harmless and required no more supervision, that he didn't need his Handler. Yet, she said nothing. Because in a way, she felt bad.
The one part she despised about her job was manipulating people to do what she wanted. To turn herself into someone she wasn't and to make herself into someone they desired to have. Faking her friendship or whatever sort of relationship she had with Alex didn't sit well with her. So, she would have to wait until he felt comfortable enough for him to ask her instead. She would have to wait for him to take the first step, not her. Overall, that would be for the best decision for the both of them, right?
Angelique just smiled and said "Of course." as a simple response. Of course, she still had the burning desire to have a shower. She utterly despised the feeling of her own sweat clinging to her skin, any filth in general really. She tugged on her hairtie, pulling her hair out of its ponytail. Humming in content, Angelique ran a hand through her hair, untangling the small knots that formed during her jog.
Even when she was on dangerous missions that included having someone else's blood on her skin, she would shower before finishing her report. It was a pet peeve of hers, she couldn't help it.
But she couldn't be rude and just leave him standing there, right in the middle of her kitchen. And who knows, maybe he'd go snooping around her place? Obviously, nothing that revealed her CIA identity would be laying around haphazardly but the idea of Alex doing something like that didn't settle well with her. He didn't seem like the kind of person to act that way, though.

(( *bows* Thank you! Thank you! ))
While Angelique did her think with her hair and her thoughts, Alex had made himself busy on the phone with Mr. Nelson. The line rung once, twice, a third time... But finally he heard the old man's voice. The two held a conversation that was brisk and easy, short enough that it kind of felt like he hadn't been on his phone to begin with.
Alex hung up when done and pocketed it, giving Cow another rub behind the ear before he just sighed and looked over at Angelique. "He said because of the rain he won't be back for another few hours... I don't want to keep you with a burden, so I can go hang out somewhere else if you want." That was Alex's main pet peeve. He hated, despised being a burden. If someone had to stop everything they had planned to do just to keep him company or get something for him, or anything that had to do with him, he would feel terrible for it for weeks.
And then came back the awkward air he usually felt when he felt out of place. Anxious hands went for his phone, pretending to be doing something by unlocking it and just scrolling from page to page on the screen. His eyes weren't even on the phone though, but rather on the ground. Just something about being in here for so long when he knew she probably had things to do all day just made him feel bad, and it made him want to leave ASAP. As much as he wanted to get to know her...

{{ she never stops ;-; also MasterChef Junior is something my mom loves lmao }}
A frown settled itself across Angelique's features as her mind processed his words. That's what he thought, huh? When in fact, it was completely the opposite. Besides the fact that he was her mission, she found his company to be somewhat amusing. He was different from what his files led her to believe, yet she found the surprise to be somewhat pleasing. She barely had anything to do in this small town besides her little job at the library down the road. But those hours weren't even long and she often found herself looking up unsolved cases just for fun. Finally meeting the Asset brought the little spice to her life that she needed.
"A burden?" She repeated, her voice clearly indignant at his previous statements. In fact, she found them quite silly. If only he knew that he was basically her only entertainment here. "You aren't a burden at all. More like a благословение really." She mused, resting her elbows on the counter and placing her chin in her hands. The half-empty waterbottle slipped from her delicate fingers and rested itself onto the cool, marble countertop where both her and Cow resided on for the time being.
"Sorry, sorry. Blessing. You're more of a blessing. The Russian in me keeps on slipping in, just wants to break through." Angelique shrugged nonchalantly, trying to explain the meaning of the syllable as well as why the Russian vocabulary maneuvered its way into the conversation. This was something she did even if she wasn't undercover. She couldn't help it, really. Russia was her home, Russian was her first language. No matter how much she tried, it always made its way known in her life. It was a part of who she was.
"But seriously, I don't mind you here. It's better for you to stay in my place instead of loitering outside in the heavy rain. I don't want you to get a cold and such, y'know?"

(( Ahhhhh I love Masterchef!! I didn't get to see the end of the last season ;3; ))
The Russian took Alex for a loop. It was hard enough for him to sometimes remember words in his own language, and then she threw whatever the heck that was at him. It was obvious by his face that she jusr completely lost him after she said whatever that was that meant blessing. It sounded way too long for that word. But, oh well.
"If you're sure..." Alex started slowly, glancing from her to Cow, then back to her again. "I won't get in your way. I promise. I can just sit in a chair until Mr. Nelson gets back." He held up his right pinky finger. "Swear on my life."
He found that saying that made people believe him. Somehow people found it hard to trust him with things. Like at work, if he promised to do things, they still doubted him. It wasn't his fault he forgot, or overslept, or went for a mental detour to Dreamland... Okay, so it was his fault! Kinda, I mean, yes? He didn't mean it, certainly.
Alexander slid his phone once more into his pocket and sat down in a chair, giving her two thumbs up to show he was doing exactly what he promised. He would sit here and wait, maybe pet Cow some more. As long as he didn't get in the way.
That also happened a lot. If people were moving things he always got in the way and would trip someone. Or if people were trying to work he would always end up "bothering" them with questions about where something went of how much something cost. So staying out of the way was just a habit now. Sit behind the counter, check people out, or stock shelves. That simple.

{{ oof, I did! It's a pretty good show tbh I'm super upset at Masterchef this year bc that one girl went home on accident?? And she was so good and she was the youngest and I'm just??? }}
She tried, okay? She tried really hard for the second time that day to hold back the snort that threatened to escape her body. It came suddenly and this time.. Well, this time she couldn't hold it back. It was only because the way in which he held his pinky up to promise her he wouldn't move from his spot was so childish and so innocent that she found it to be hilariously amusing.
It was hilarious to her because the man who performed a "pinky promise" had the capability of ending someone's life in a matter of seconds and he didn't even know. He didn't even realize his full potential in the world. The whole thing was obnoxious, really, so you couldn't blame her for letting a small snort escape.
Angelique maneuvered her way through the place to her small living room, seating herself on the couch with a small thump. Cow immediately followed after his owner with a small mew, glancing back at Alex before hurrying to settle himself on her lap. She rested her elbow on the armrest, placing her chin in her hand again as she gazed over at the Asset in her kitchen.
"You don't have to stay there, y'know." She called over to him, wondering if he'd take his "promise" that far. "Just make yourself comfortable. I'm planning on taking a shower soon, so if you would like to help yourself to my vast collection of movies or something, that's perfectly okay." She assured him, not wanting him to feel awkward in her place. But from the data she already gathered, that would prove to be tricky.
"I promise." She added after a moment's pause, holding up her right pinky finger to somewhat amuse him.

(( You mean freaking Andrea!? I loved her so much! Like she got ripped off tbh. ))
Alex felt almost insulted. Was she laughing at him? It didn't make him mad or anything, but instead just confused and a little off. Did she not believe in promises or something? Was it a Russian thing? A girl thing? He didn't find it as funny. And yet he still cracked an awkward smile to play along and act like he knew what she was laughing at him for.
As she moved and the cat jumped after her, Alex almost wanted to reach out and grab Cow. "Wait, don't..." he breathed quietly under his breath, leaning forward while Cow settled down in her lap. He didn't want to move, not until she invited him to at least. That couch looked mighty comfy, and when she did invite him over he just had to nod and get up, practically scrambling over to plop down.
Oh yeah, that's it. His bottom sunk right into the cushion like he owned that couch. Slouched back, he gave a small yet happy sigh, glancing over at Angelique (literally almost said Angelica o.o )). "Thanks Agatha." he muttered happily, once again butchering her name. He, again, stopped right after that sentence, knowing that wasn't right either, then he just shrugged it off and reached into his back pocket. He pulled out a couple peppermint, his favorite hard candy, and offered one over to the friendly woman after he popped one in his own mouth. "Want one?" he asked after pushing the candy into his cheek with the side of his tongue.

{{ yeah, i passed out with my phone on my face ^^; but yes, Andrea!! I was so annoyed like what. They should have Last Chance Kitchen like Top Chef so she can come back and win the show, y'know?? }}
Angelique absentmindedly rubbed the top of Cow's head, using her nails to scratch at his favorite spots. This just earned her a set of heavy purrs in response as the feline closed his eyes in pure content. She inwardly smiled down at her cat, once again, pleased that she was able to bring him with her on the mission. Even if Headquarters denied her the right, she would probably do it anyway. After all, they couldn't say no after the deed was done.
"Ah, sure. Spasibo." She responded, using her free hand to gently pluck the candy out of his hands. She somehow managed to unwrap the plastic covering around the candy with only one hand and her teeth, having to gently nudge Cow's curious nose out of the way before putting it into her mouth. Angelique was somewhat pleased with herself that she didn't get the wrapper caught in her piercing when she began to open it. Imagine that embarrassment.
"'M name's Angelique." She added after a moment's pause, her mouth now busy with the candy as the minty taste enveloped her tastebuds. "Not Agatha or Angelica. If the name is too odd, which it is, you could always shorten it, if you want. To either Angel, or even A. I might not know who you're talking to if you say a different name." She shrugged nonchalantly, hoping she wasn't offending him with her words. If he became too distrustful of her, she'd be pulled from the mission and another agent would be brought into her place. It had never happened to her before and she wasn't on planning on starting now.
It weirded her out a bit, the fact that he couldn't remember her name. It might have been a malfunction of the coding. Though it wasn't supposed to be working to its full capacity, the programs in Alex's brain should be functioning a small bit, allowing him to act normally. Forgetting someone's name that quickly definitely wasn't, right?
Oh well, he'd probably get it at somepoint.

(( Preach!! I was so tired of Nathan though! Like geeze that boy was so annoying and such a child! >.< He should have left, not Andrea.))
Alex chuckled when she took the candy from him. "Spasibo?" he echoed humerously, finding the word to be funny. He didn't know what exactly what that was supposed to mean, but hopefully it was just a funny word. Then she corrected him. Ah boy.
Alex sunk into the couch, feeling a little guilty. Was he really that bad with names? Angelique didn't seem so pleased with it, which only made Alex feel worse. Did it insult her that bad or something. "I-I'm sorry." he muttered quietly, gaze dropping from her face and to the floor. "I... I don't know why I'm so bad with bigger words. I've always been kinda dumb that way. I'm sorry Andre-- uh, Angelique."
See? Even just now he screwed up. She literally just told him her name again and he was already messing up! "Something's wrong with me." he breathed with a small sigh, shoulders giving a hint of a shrug. "I don't want to call you anything shorter though. I want to use your name. I like it... I'm just so bad at remembering things."
Alex didn't want to say it, but he really couldn't remember anything. He didn't remember growing up or going to school or even what he did before he moved here. It would just should too pathetic if he mentioned that, so he decided to keep that one frustration bottled in.

{{ right?? His voice was so weird omg! And that's perfectly fine! We all draw blanks c: }}
"Spasibo means thank you." She explained with a mumble, glancing over at him for a brief moment. Her eyes immediately began to take note of his body posture before looking back at Cow. She pushed the mint in her mouth to the left side of her cheek as her spirits began to drop, trying desperately to distract her mind. This wasn't working at all. Why wasn't her plan working? Did she lose her touch after working out in the field for so long?
Angelique realized that he was beginning to curl upon himself again and cursed inwardly at herself. Apparently, her previous sentence hit him harder than she meant for it to. She had good intentions, really. She was trying to be kind and supportive, not derogatory. In a normal situation, the person sitting in front of her would've acted with a smile and a few gracious words in response. But this wasn't a normal situation, this was a a case of a high caliber. Of course it would be difficult, she expected no less.
"How about this," she soothed, thinking of a preposition to try and figure out the situation, to make it better. After all, she had to find some way for him to open up to her. "We can start with Angel and work our way up to Angelique. How does that sound? That's what most of the townsfolk call me anyway, the Russian name is far too foreign for people to deal with anyway." She shrugged, a small smile tugging at her lips.
"Plus, there's nothing wrong with you. Some people find it difficult to remember things. It isn't uncommon to forget so quickly. It took me forever to remember that I wasn't in Russia but in the states." Angelique recalled, shuddering at the distant memory. "I gave a man quite a scare when I started speaking to him in rapid Russian."

(( He seriously needed an attitude adjustment. He was such a freaking brat, I just wanted to reach in the TV and slap him >.< Hopefully I'll get better soon... I wanna type a lot and I just can't do words good xD))
Alex didn't mean to take the comment as harshly as he had. He didn't mean to act so childish. It was just that sensitive side of him that seemed to make things worse than they were meant to be. Sometimes Alexander would take notice of it and would try to take it back and make things better. It didn't work half the time though. Usually by then people would just say "whatever" or just walk away because of his negative response. Apparently it got annoying really fast.
He didn't want this happening again. Not with someone who could actually be a freidn in the future. Alex wanted a friend so desperately, to be able to have hang-out nights in one of their apartments, movie night with bunches of popcorn. Or just to call and talk to when he needed to talk.
Angelique's proposition was tempting. Angel would be a name he could probably remember... It was short, but sweet, and kind of fitted her perfectly. She was just so nice and he wanted to try his hardest to do his share in forming a nice relationship.
"Okay." Alex finally agreed, glancing over at her. He saw that warm smile she wore on her lips that drew one out of himself. She was just so nice, it was unbelievable. "I think... I can remember that." he added with a nod, trying to convince himself that he will, not may, remember it. Angel. Angel. Angel. He could remember that!
"It is kind of strange." Alex commented with a small laugh at her Russian outbursts. "Took me for surprise. Probably not common around here." he added. His rear shifted on the cushion of the couch to try to sit up better and get out of that sloppy slouch he had taken on.

{{ right??!?!?!? he sounded like a mouse or something, and he wasn't even that good at cooking lol it's okay, really! practice just makes you better, not worse!~ ^^ }}
Pleased that Alex decided to follow through with her proposition, Angelique gave him a reassuring nod before settling herself more comfortably on the couch. Well, as much as she possibly could. She still had Cow on her lap and she had no desire to disturb the feline for two reasons and for two reasons only. One, he would dig his claws into her leg if he was surprised by her sudden movements. She didn't want to have any wounds on her legs in case she needed to perform her CIA duties. Two, he was sleeping so peacefully. Soft, snoring noises began to escape his chubby body and Angelique's heart would melt if she disturbed her little "angel."
When he agreed with the strangeness of her Russian vocabulary that seemed to present itself in the most random moments, she gave a soft laugh. "I doubt anyone here has ever met someone from Russia until I came along." She mused, tilting her head to the side and ran a hand through her hand through her hair once more. Her nails caught on some tangles and she frowned in disgust, pulling them through rapidly.
Upon her arrival to the little town, Angelique immediately felt like an outsider. It was almost as if this town hadn't been home to a foreigner before. These people had a tough time adapting to her accent and for once, she wished she could take an American accent for this mission. Yet, she was ordered to use her normal tone of voice, to utilize her Russian culture to the best of her ability. A female with a Russian first and last name couldn't have a Boston accent, that would be absurd. According to Headquarters, it would cause far too much suspicion.
Angelique knew she shouldn't let it bother her, really. But it was growing increasingly difficult not to feel some sort of frustration towards the people around her. Sure, she managed to interject herself into the community and make herself well-known and well-liked. However, she would have to repeat her sentence to a kind old lady or to a younger male every now and then just for them to understand her. She was glad she had a small job down at the library; she didn't have to talk that often over there.

(( Ahhh speakof the devil, I just sat down to watch a little TV and stuff and mom recorded the two new episodes! Apparently they took a break during the season or something? Idk xD))
Alex had to laugh with her. He was really starting to warm up to Angelique now. He could tell she was trying to make an attempt to get to know him, and he wanted to do the exact same. Somehow, Alex knew he was going to be her friend. He just had to.
"SO what's Russia like? Compared to this rainy town I'm sure it's beautiful." he pondered. Alex had read that travel is a great experience for anyone. To just get out and see the world, learn new cultures. he saw so much in books and on TV that he was almost dying to do it too!
Part of him wanted to ask if she could teach him a few words. But then he realized that it really wouldn't stick with him. Considering remembering some things in his own language was proven to be difficult, he could only imagine how hard it would be for him to remember another language.
"Why'd you move here anyway? Like just to see something new?" he added in after, now curious about the why. It probably sounded a little too nosy, but man was he curious. Alexander didn't know very much about the outside world, or at least he didn't remember anything about it, so he wanted to find out as much as he could. Maybe it was better than this dreary town. ANywhere had to be better than here.
Looking outside in the morning to see rain would always make his day start off drab. Alex loved the sun, after seeing rain almost every day... It made him feel like the sky was crying because it felt so bad for the small, and rather sad town. There really wasn't anything interesting unless you like the library. Then maybe someone would actually like it here? But already, Alex was itching to get out and go somewhere better.

{{ lol that's okay!! I hope you had a great time!~ and omg, really? My Mom hasn't watched it recently so I didn't know there were new episodes. Sweeeeet }}
Angelique pondered about her response to his question, immediately unsure of what to say. She loved the place, yet she despised it at the same time. She could talk on and on about Russia despite the fact that most of it was a frozen wasteland. Because no matter how far away she was from that country, it was still her home. Even if the thought of Russia brought up both good and bad memories, she was still from the country whether she liked it or not. Thankfully, Russia wasn't brought up that often in the CIA world and she wasn't transported to her memories. And for that, she was grateful.
"Well, it's like any other place. It can get super freezing, and the warmest temperatures we get there are mild." She explained, playing with a few loose strands of her hair as she spoke. Angelique was slightly uncomfortable with the topic but continued to execute the mission to the best of her abilities and made sure her body posture was normal. Even if Alex couldn't decipher the smallest meanings behind a body posture, she wanted to play it safe. She had absolutely no desire for gum to know how awkward this was for her.
"There's a lot of pretty landscapes I used to love to draw. I would travel around the country for days on end on the weekends. My mother would go ballistic whenever I returned but I never really cared. I was happy, y'know?" She mused, leaning her head back as she sat on the couch. She heard the faint crack as she stretched it out and she hummed in content. "You should visit sometime. It's a pretty sight during the warmer months, like August." She recommended, a slight shrug on her shoulders.
"And as for why I'm not there right now.." She trailed off, lost in her thoughts. Angelique didn't enjoy the backstory Headquarters came up with for her, finding it completely overused and too common. She didn't say anything though, too preoccupied with getting other parts of the mission ready. It had completely slipped her mind until it was too late.
"I came to the states a few years ago with a foreign exchange student program and I fell in love with the US. As soon as I returned to Russia, I began to make plans to come back and to come back for good." She gave a broken laugh, letting out a gentle sigh. "Neither of my parents were happy with my decision and didn't wish me good luck or bade me any goodbyes at the airport. It was for the best I suppose." She mused, telling the truth somewhat. When she left Russia back when she was barely ten years of age, she had no parents to tell her goodbye. She had no one to tell her they would miss her.
{{ sorry it's so short! I'm falling asleep ^^; }}
