Anastasiya Ivankov alias: Angelique Vasiliev
Angelique yawned obnoxiously, secretly glad that she was alone in her Jeep. She began to blink away the sleep and tears that threatened to leak from her eyelids, frowning in distaste. How come her coffee hadn't worked? It was eight in the morning and she had it a half hour ago, so why wasn't it kicking in? The caffeine was much needed if she wanted to get through the rest of the day. She groaned to herself, cursing in Russian as she parked her car in the apartment building's parking lot and rested her forehead on the steering wheel.
She had just gone for a light jog at the park that was five minutes away and needed to rest before forcing herself to walk inside. The exercise was needed greatly. Just because she wasn't at Headquarters didn't mean she should stop her daily workout routine. That was no excuse. She could've walked to the park, seeing how it was so close, but she would have been too exhausted to even bother with the return trip.
She had moved to the little town a few months back, around six months or so. Angelique knew that she needed to integrate herself with the commonfolk there, making her presence known, well-liked, and welcomed. In order to accomplish what she came to do, she had to put herself in the good graces of the townspeople. She needed the mission to run smoothly. After all, she had a perfect record and wasn't planning on breaking it anytime soon.
She drummed her finely manicured nails on her knee before opening the door and sliding out. It was better to get out of the car as soon as possible. That way, she could get a shower and cuddle with Oscar, her cat. That was one thing she always brought on missions like these: her feline friend. He was good companionship and he made her seem less stand out-ish. Plus, she had him for a while and couldn't be away from him for so long. Some CIA agent she was, huh? If she couldn't abandon her cat for a few weeks, how was she supposed to perform heavy-duty missions? That was a question in everyone's minds at Headquarters, but she did her job well and no complaints were made.
Locking the Jeep behind her and taking the stairs two at a time, she hummed a tune she had just heard on the radio, quite eager to jump in the shower after she made herself another cup of coffee. After all, if one didn't work, maybe two could? Or three? Third time's the charm, usually.
Her ebony hair was pulled back in a tight ponytail, swinging from side to side as she maneuvered her way up the stairs. Her footsteps were light and careful for two reasons: One, she didn't want to wake up her neighbors. Two, she was trained to walk that way; it was ingrained in her mind. She let out a sigh of relief when she heard the pit-patter of raindrops. She had just missed the rainfall on her jog, just barely. She enjoyed the rain, enjoyed the serenity it would give her when she would lie in wait during a mission, but she didn't enjoy running in it.
She despised holding her hair back, she felt bald whenever she did so. There were no ebony waves to frame her face and enhance her features. But it was for the best, to keep it out of her face. After all, it's quite difficult to perform a perfect shot with a gun with your hair whipping in your face, isn't it?
{{ riiiight? best movie EVER }}

(( Mike is like adorably stupid! x3 *car blows up* "That's what they were doing to my car. That would've hurt..." ))
Alexander just never could seen to get a break. After moving to what seemed like a gloomy town, he managed to find only one choice in housing. It was a small apartment for one, which wasn't bad... But Alex had just never been fond of apartments. You hear all those creepy stories of people getting jumped at their door or a stranger waiting inside. Not to mention the worst part. Alex had neighbors just beyond the ultra thin walls. Which meant he wasn't allowed to play his music system...
That was the one thing that always seemed to calm down Alexander after a long day. He would come him and kick back on the couch, system on max volume and his phone in one hand and a glass of wine in the other. But now he would have to settle for a low setting. How awesome.
It hadn't been long since Alex had moved into the little complex. Only a couple days actually. Usually people would go to meet their neighbors to make friends. But now Alex. He was more of a high-key introvert and meeting people was just one thing he didn't like. He preferred to stay to himself. He knew faces of few of his neighbors when he would watch them walk past through a window, but never had he even said a word.
The rain had just barely caught him. Alex had left his boring job at a small gas station. It wasn't much, but it paid his rent. The brown-headed man jogged up the metal stairs outside that would lead to the floor his apartment was located on. Just as he found his door, the sound and smell of rain quickly surrounded him. Which was fine by him. Alex had no where else to be anyway, hopefully. Working the night shift meant he had the whole day to himself.
His hazel eyes darted to his jacket pocket as he fumbled for his key. He wanted to get in and get his old shoes off, maybe grab some coffee and a doughnut or something. He would figure it out later. All Alex wanted now was to get that darned key.
Finally his long fingers wrapped around the cool metal and he pulled it out, trying to get that grooved item into its slot in the lock. After trying once, then flipping it to try the other way, Alex could only growl out an irritated curse. This wasn't his apartment key! "I left it in the drawer..." he mumbled, mind wondering to work where he usually kept the keys and his phone, just under the cash register. He must have grabbed the wrong one. He glanced to the side at the now downpour of rain and just let his head slam forward into the old wooden door. He really didn't want to have to get back out in that mess.

{{ i can imagine Alex being similar to Mike and Anastasiya being so frustrated and dumbfounded at his childish antics omg }}
By the looks of it, she had already made her way to the third floor, two away from her own. (Not like she was counting though, definitely not.) Headquarters made sure her place was further away from the Asset's, having no desire for her to be too close to them. They hadn't mentioned it to her during the meeting she had with them months ago, but she guessed that they probably did not want anything to seem too suspicious. It didn't make much sense to her, seeing as how the Asset's mind was wiped after the project was cancelled and any trace of it was eradicated. But she wasn't one to argue, she liked to keep her job, thank you very much.
She was brought out of her reverie when she heard some sort of mumbled cursing, her highly-trained ears catching up on the noise even under the loud drumming of the rainfall against the building's exterior. Slowly leaning backwards from the stairway, she held onto the railing with a firm hand as she caught the figure who was responsible for the bitter words. Her eyes immediately drank in the form's shape and a small huff of displeasure escaped her lips as she recognized who it was. How typical. The Headquarters didn't bother to give her any warning of his arrival, did they? Couldn't find the time out of their busy schedules to give her a heads up.
Angelique moved back to stand normally on the stairway, bouncing on the balls of her feet as she stood on the first step leading up to the fourth floor. She patted at her cheeks lightly to rid herself of her thoughts and to snap out of her mind. She couldn't be in a CIA agent state of mind right now, things would go disastrous if she continued to stay in this mindset. She had to be Angelique Vasiliev, a foreign exchange student from Russia who found the states to be quite homely and decided to stay. She couldn't be Anastasiya Ivanov for a long time.
She didn't know for how long she had to pretend, but she didn't mind it as much as the other agents did. Going undercover tended to relax her and soothe her nerves slightly. It was nice to be someone she was not, even if it was for a completely dangerous reason.
Maneuvering her way back down the stairs and heading towards the direction of the Asset, her mind raced with all the minor and major details she had received. She had scanned Alex's files repeatedly after being handed it on the first day. Angelique had lost track after the 87th time. Perfection was key and knowing your mission's information was the first step in achieving that perfection.
As she began to approach him, he looked far more clean shaven than he was in the mug shot that had been clipped to the side of the manila folder. Well, she supposed, that had to be fairly common. No one could look good before going to prison, now could they?
Stopping a few feet away, a small smile made its way onto her face as she cleared her throat to make her presence known. She made sure to hold her hands in front of her somewhat comfortably, most certainly not placing them behind her back (despite how much she wanted to). She had read to not cause anything that would start the program inside his mind and making sure her hands were seen at all times was one of those things.
"Having some trouble?" She questioned, glad that she wouldn't have to fake a Boston accent and use her normal Russian one.

(( Yessss! Like Alex is jumpy and can be so stupid and then she's just like "You gotta be kidding me..." xD))
The idea of driving back to the curb store wasn't Alexander's best interest. Especially with it raining. Sight really wasn't a plus for him; he didn't have 20/20 vision. Heck, even if he had glasses, he still wouldn't. Maybe that was why he could hear better than see, to make up for it. It had always been an idea to him. Even his sense of smell was better. I mean, don't get me wrong, Alex wasn't blind or anywhere close. He more had a hard time focusing, and a lot of times his mind would go blank and his vision seemed to split into two images, one for each eye. Maybe he needed to go get his eyes checked after all.. Eh, oh well. He couldn't afford it anyway.
Angelique's approach wasn't even noticed by Alex. He was already in his own little world, beating himself up inside for being so dumb to forget something that important. Work was a good two miles away, which wasn't bad, until you add in the rain. Especially with a sudden downpour like this, Alex was sure to end up running off the road or crashing into a hydrant or something dangerous.
With only one employee at the mart at a time, he couldn't just call up there and ask them to meet him or something. Then the store could easily be robbed. Closing would be an option and make it easier to meet but... Of course the key that currently was clutched in Alex's fist against the door happened to be the shop's key, which typically stayed inside at all times since the place was a 24/7 type of store. In other words, there was only one. Awesome, super awesome.
A thick accent cut through the heavy rain and made Alexander jump in his own shoes. His head whipped to the side and he took a small step back, nervous smile trying to pull the corners of his lips up which his body leaned against the door. "U-uh." he stopped and cleared his throat. "Yeah I, I kinda lost my key." he said with a forced laugh to make the situation a little lighter on him. This was the first person he had met here, and it really wasn't a good situation either. What if she was one of those creeps who jumped people? Telling her he was locked out probably wasn't that smart. But, oh well, too late.
"I think I left it at work." he added with another laugh, hand going to his head to give himself a little thump to show he did a pretty dumb thing. "It's fine though." he added quickly, then jerked to move to get his car key out of his pocket. That way he could show he would leave, so hopefully she wouldn't attack him if she was a burglar or something.

She almost had to bite back the snort that threatened to escape from her body as he awkwardly explained his situation. How did he even manage to lose his key if he hadn't resided in the building for that long? It was strange, seeing the only functional experiment of a government project act in a manner such as this. If the Asset didn't have a complicated sequence of coding implanted in his body, he would easily be deemed as harmless. But that was the point, she supposed. Couldn't have him acting all dangerous around civilians, that would just make him stick out more. Headquarters worked quite well when it wanted to.
As he spoke, Angelique immediately made a mental note of the wary attitude he took towards her. The rising undertone of his voice caught her attention, revealing that he was almost.. nervous? Or was it just anxiety? Whatever the case, she hummed her approval. At least he wasn't too outgoing towards strangers. That would make her job far more difficult than it already was.
Can you imagine? Having to do a background check on everyone he befriended just to make sure they had no underlying reasons for the friendship?? She shuddered at the thought, glad that he seemed to have a personality similar to one of an introvert. Of course, that would also make it difficult for her to befriend him and keep watch over every little thing he did. She could never win, could she?
Bringing herself back to reality, Angelique allowed his words to sink into her mind for a moment before she responded.
"Oh. Well, did you happen to ask Mr. Nelson for a spare? He's the one who owns this entire building. You probably met him when you rented out the apartment. If you give him a quick call, I'm sure he'll give you another key to your place. We all have one free pass for an extra. After that, it's gotta come out of our own pocket." She explained, leaning against the wall between his apartment door and someone else's. The cold exterior soothed her heated skin from her previous jog and she welcomed the feeling immensely.
She had already met the old man, wanting to get into his good graces as soon as possible. Her plans and her mission would become such a waste (or even compromised) if the people who lived in the town didn't treat her with kindness. In order for them to do so, she had to initiate the relationship. Apparently, approaching his office with a freshly baked apple pie did the trick. Food always seemed to work with smalltown folk such as him.
"However.." She trailed off, biting her lip in thought. "His truck wasn't in the parking lot when I arrived a few moments ago. Chances are, he's visiting his grandchildren. They're sweet lil things." Okay, that was a lie. She never met the young kids, but from the pictures on his desk, they seemed nice enough.
"If you'd like, you can come to my place and give him a quick call? I'm not so sure on when he'll be back soon, the roads can get pretty dangerous when the rain's falling this hard." She offered, a small frown crossed her features as she heard the pounding of the droplets against the building and a small part of her hoped that the old man would be alright.
"It's just a suggestion, I mean no harm by it. I just thought you'd maybe wanna sit down somewhere warm until you can get back into your place." She shrugged, knowing full well that she could easily unlock his door with a bobby pin. Of course, that would just make her seem suspicious for having those skills. So, she kept quiet about them.

(( My whole morning consisted of teaching mom how to use SnapChat... xD Lord help me for what I have just released into this world..))
Mr. Nelson, Alexander had heard of him a few times from the neighbors. They themselves had met once or twice but, naturally, Alex hadn't really made small talk easy. But from what he remembered from his apartment tour and the paper signing days and agreements and junk, he was a sweet elderly man who refused to give into the laziness of retirement. He was one strong old bull.
"Yeah, um, I think I remember him reminding me about that." Alex muttered as his eyes good a swift glance around Angelique to look at the parking lot. Just as she said, his truck was missing. It was actually a nice sight to always see the old Chevy sitting in the back under the shade of a tree. It always showed the residents that he was an owner who cared and was always at work no matter what. Grandkids were always a good exception though. Alex remembered those pictures on the mahogany desk. They all looked like little angels, and Mister Nelson would talk up a storm about them if he was given any chance to.
Alex was just about to reach into his pocket when the Russian-accented female gave him a suggestion. Go to her apartment...? He barely knew her but still, it sounded better thaan sitting out in the sticky air that was brought from the rain.He gave a small sigh and nodded, shoving his key in his back pocket. "Sure. Um... Thanks." he agreed awkwardly.
Maybe he could get to know this girl. She was pretty, that was the first impression he thought of when he was first confronted by her. Plus he needed friends; one week in this town and he was still alone and as awkward as ever. He knew he needed to open up, but it was just so hard.
