] Despite the stillness of her frame, the slender queen was watching her kittens with a carefulness a hungry bird of prey would have envied, her tail flicking contently in the soft breeze catching around the nursery, the calico allowed a soft chuckle to herself as she watched the kitten stumble around on unsteady paws. Everything about her larger daughter seemed strangely out of proportion, paws too big for such a tiny body, the little one seemed to find every new thing incredible and very exciting. Even the stony warrior couldn’t help but find it rather cute to watch. However her affectionate and fond grin turned to a grimace at the sight of Briarkits inelegant stumble across her tiniest daughters frame. Grumbling quietly, the queen lowered her muzzle to lift the kitten by the scruff of her neck and settle the calico kitten beside her flank. Rasping her tongue over the newborns face as she spoke with a firm tone, “Be more careful where you put your paws little one,” she warned though not unkindly. “You might have hurt your sister,” she wrapped her long tail around the scrap of fur between her forelegs in a protective gesture. Nuzzling Briarkit fondly, “I know the nursery is small, but you need to pay more attention.”.

Briarkit - Nursery - Louis 🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ 𝘊𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘴𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘮 ꕤ
Briarkit didn’t think much of her tumble until he felt a little pressure on her scruff. The next moment, she was already lifted up and facing her mother with wide eyes. After a little warning and a few annoyed mews on her part she returned back to the ground and found herself curled back up in the safe comfort of Dawnthistle’s fur.
What did she do? She knew that her mother’s tone was firm, and just tripping over her sibling couldn’t have possibly warranted anything. But maybe her duty wasn’t to leave the small Pebblekit in the dust to be trampled... instinctively, Briarkit felt that she wanted to protect her silver counterpart from any harm whatsoever, as young and weak as she was herself. Her kit-brain couldn’t comprehend it too well but she knew one thing: she would make sure not to trip over Pebblekit anymore after the gentle warning from Dawnthistle.
Slowly sleep washed over her as her eyes closed, and before Briarkit knew it her little calico body was fast asleep. The last thing she remembered before dozing off was the comfort of her mother’s warm body curling around her protectively. Maybe no adventuring for now.

Chuckling a little at the entirety of thirty seconds the kitten gave protest to her actions, before promptly falling asleep curled up in the warmth of her belly fur. Dawnthistle affectionately licked the kitten between the ears with a rumbling purr, "You think you're a little warrior already?" She mreowed with quiet amusement, tickling the kitten's downy frame with the tip of her nose. She had learned quickly that all kits seemed to do at this age was sleep, eat, mewl and then go back to sleep once again. Waiting until the kitten seemed to be reasonably deep in sleep, the new mother carefully manouvered the kitten to in front of her, where she began the careful process of grooming the little one of the moss and dirt accumulated in its fur. One of the more enjoyable parts of motherhood, a time for bonding with each of the little kittens and getting to know them more. By now she had memorised their appearances and scents, but their tiny personalities were only beginning to bloom now. And Briarkit had turned into rather a little madam in her own, rather adorable way. Squirmy and energetic, cleaning during waking hours had become a difficult chore, but fortunately the kitten slept almost as much as she ate, providing an opportunity to at least make her kittens reasonably presentable should visitors pop in. Taking a careful moment to clean the milk stains free of the kittens soft muzzle, after a moment the mother settled down again with a content sounding sigh. Still recovering from the consequences of a difficult birth, her energy was returning slowly but surely and she looked forward to feeling properly like herself once again.

Pebblekit
"........." A tiny squeak rose from Pebblekit's throat as she felt a body thump into her. Her tail gave a small swish and she turned over onto her side. What was going on with her siblings? Why couldn't they just sleep like her? Her eyelids twitched, as though they wanted to open, but the tiny grey kitten forced them to stay closed. A shaft of light entered in through the cracks in the fallen log and bathed her in light, filling her eyes with light. She tried to squint harder, but it was like the world was finally telling her to open her eyes. She gave a tiny huff of protest, but then slowly her eyelids opened...
The first thing she saw was light, blurry and fuzzy, lighting the hollowed log in a yellow glow. She blinked and the world became a little more clear, she looked at the ground, everything looked so... BIG! Her paw gently touched the moss underneath her, watching as it sprang under her touch. So this is what this looked like? She had felt it under her for so long. She slowly turned her head, blinking as she looked to her mother, and her head craned so far back that she toppled onto her back. That... That was the figure she had been snuggling into?!
Her mother was beautiful, she had so much color on her, and the warm light absorbed in her fur. An immediate sense of calm took her over, she felt safe next to this extremely large Goliath. She should have been scared of something so big that they could crush her, but she knew this was her mother, and she loved her immeasurably already.
Pebblekit's eyes were the same grey that she got her name after, wide and full of wonder. Well, if that was her mother... Where were her brother and sister? Filled with curiosity, and finally seeming to have the energy to do something other than sleep, Pebblekit tried to push to her paws. Oof... How was she supposed to do this? Pebblekit planted her paws on the ground and tried to push up, but her legs were weak. She shook as she pushed with all her tiny might, and finally wobbled onto all fours. She nearly toppled over, but she was stopped by her mother's flank. She used it as support to stay more steady, and then carefully put one paw in front of the other, taking her first steps.
She walked a couple steps until she found her sister curled up in her mother's paws. A flood of jealousy, the first time she had ever felt such a thing, washed over her. This was her mommy! What was she doing with her? She wanted to mewl at her angrily, but Pebblekit still remained silent, but her anger fueled her to walk towards Briarkit. She was going to push her out of here! The tiny grey body tripped over her mother's large paws however, and her body collided with Briarkit clumsily. Pebblekit kicked at Briarkit weakly with her front paws, trying to pummel her flank to push her away.

Heathersway
"I wonder where trees come from..." Heathersway perked up, pushing up so she was no standing. Her tail flicked behind her again, her head tilted in a sweet little smile. Hunting would be good, she felt like getting out and stretching her paws... But at the same time, it felt so... Boring! She had already gone hunting yesterday evening, and she was feeling more adventurous. "That sounds fun! But... Would you maybe want to just explore, together?" Her eyes opened, golden moons glittering at Runninghare almost pleadingly. Not everyone would be up for just walking, it must have sounded boring to some. But to Heathersway, there was nothing more thrilling than the pursuit of the unknown. Maybe, if they searched for something new, they would find it!
It would be a good break from the regular routine of clan life, which, asides from the new kittens, things had been rather boring.

Having drifted into a content sleep, dreaming of the wilds of her home so realistic she could taste the wind on her tongue, but she was dragged from her doze by the patter of tiny pawsteps causing her ears to perk forward. Jaws parting in a wide yawn, flashing her great set of fangs as she lifted her head and stretched out with a grumble. Not thinking much of the sound given the energetic tendencies of her young offspring, failing to notice for a while the space her smallest daughter had occupied for the last four days was now empty. Circling the nest for a heartbeat and her eyes still closed tight mostly in laziness and the aching tiredness she felt, before settling back down into the moss with a soft purr, she rested her head across her paws, intending to tuck the tiny Briarkit against her chest as she continued her comfortable doze. But was surprised to find a second lump stumbling across her forelegs and into the space between. Blinking her eyes open to reveal a grey almost identical to Pebblekit's soft grey. Looking down to see the tiniest of her kittens kicking annoyedly at her older sister. The queen couldn't help the mreow of amusement that tugged free of her lips, Pebblekit's tiny movements didn't seem to be causing Briarkit much bother given the difference in their sizes. More providing her sister a massage than doing any true harm, still the mother made a movement to carefully seperate the arguing siblings. Nuzzling at her silver grey daughter with an amused purr, "Honestly little one, I warned your sister not to trample all over you, and then you go and use your first waking moment to beat her up?" She scolded, but the amusement glinting in her eyes accompanied by the soft lilt to her tone of voice gave evidence to the fact that she wasn't particularly annoyed to any true extent. Cuddling Briarkit to her chest for a heartbeat in a fond gesture, before returning the seemingly still sleeping kitten back to the warmth of her stomach. Using her hindleg to tuck the kitten into her dappled calico fur with an amused chuckle. She turned her attention once more to the rather needy Pebblekit. Whilst the little grey daughter hadn't become too dirty, considering her absolution in remaining almost entirely still for all the days she had been alive, save or when suckling or complaining. The mother all the same set to work in cleaning the soft grey downy fur of Pebblekit's silky coat.

Admittedly a look of uncertainty took over the dappled tom cat's expression, a flick of his dark gaze as though in search of the clan's deputy, worried they might well have been spotted or overheard with intentions of being lazy. A luxury no one was ever really afforded, especially not during the depths of leafbare as the clan currently found themselves in. Shifting on the spot, it wasn't often the tom didn't look like the picture of confidence and ease, but now the concern flickered through his gaze, but the handsome tom was quick to banish it from his expression as best as he was able. Straightening with his usual charasmatic smile, the tom shrugged his shoulders. Trying to approach his uncertainties in a manner that might convince his companion for the morning that perhaps her idea wasn't the best, without a - needing to say it aloud himself, and b - without inadvertantly being rude to a shecat he quite liked. "I'd rather not be skinned alive by insertdeputy'snamehere when he finds out we haven't spent every waking moment working for our clan," he meowed, trying to sound humerous which for him wasn't too much of a difficult task. Mischief and teasing were in his nature as much as running or climbing were. "So maybe we go for a walk, but at least do some hunting on the way back?" He offered with a twitch of his brown tipped ears.

Heathersway
"I wonder where trees come from..." Luckily for Runninghare, Heathersway was easy to please. As long as they got to say oh we'll pick something up on the way home that was good enough for her! She was under the assumption that he was just saying that to try to dodge out of trouble, and that he still really wanted to go out and explore with her! It was a good compromise, even if Heathersway seemed too enthusiastic to forget the hunting part entirely. She also mistook go on a walk as let's go out in the forest and roam to our heart's content. Though did it really shock Runninghare that she didn't grasp it completely? Did it surprise anyone?
"Awesome! Let's go to the Whistling Peaks, it looks so beautiful during winter!" She had jumped to her paws and was already starting towards the exit of the canyon without even checking if her partner was following. Her paws itched to explore, something it felt like she hadn't done since she was an apprentice! "I bet if we look hard enough we'll find like a secret cave that leads to a waterfall or something! Or maybe we'll find an all new type of prey! Like! Like a squirrel, but with gills and - and wings! I'd call it a Squfisbird! Wouldn't that be cool?! Or maybe we'll find a-" She began to ramble with a growing amount of excitement, her paws dancing across the smooth canyon floor.

(are y'all gonna reply to Dawn out of curiosity?) Grateful to learn that his companion wouldn't insist on them recieving a skinning, the tom twitched his tail a little more contently this time, allowing his frame to relax from the stiffness that had begun to work its way through his bones. Now exhilerated by the prospect of a hunt and a stretch of his nimble legs, the handsome warrior felt adrenaline for the day ahead beginning to pump its way through his veins. Tail flicking as he listened rather absent mindedly to his companions opinion on where they should spend their excursion. Runninghare nodded with agreement, "Whistling Peak sounds good," he agreed with a grin lacing his dappled expression. It was a little out of their way, on the borders of their territory where the lands began to fade into the mists surrounding them, but he doubted there would be anything of trouble to find at the edges. If anything, the prospect of something out of the usual might well have been enjoyable to the handsome tom. "Shall we get gong?"

Briarkit - Camp - 𝘊𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘴𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘮 ꕤ 🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ
Briarkit loved sleeping, as all kits should. The dreams of warmth and milk and softness enticed her to stay a little bit more in dreamland. Unfortunately for her, she was jolted out of this paradise by a strange movement. Eyes quickly opening, Briarkit mewled angrily and looked around to find the culprit that had woken her up. It seemed that her little gray sister had done so. With a chuff the calico-tabby kitten fluffed out her fur and batted Pebblekit with a paw angrily. She let out a defiant meow before rolling over to try and snuggle back into Dawnthistle’s soft fur. Briarkit knew to be gentle with her smaller sibling but she was still mad that her sleep was disrupted!
At her vulnerable age, sleeping and eating were top priorities, with playing coming right after. She didn’t realize that she should have been thankful for having such a peaceful kithood so far, as others had it much worse. She screwed her eyes shut and forced a yawn to try and get back to sleep.
