α΄α΄Κ βΎβ§ Renegade is quite interesting to me!! Zack and him are similar in some ways and very different in others; I feel like it's possible they could clash but on the other hand it might be interesting. But him and Spencer intrigue me as well; his stubborn honesty and her snark might make quite a dynamic. I would like to roleplay a human with him but I don't think Fione would work. However the werewolves should be interesting with him. Thoughts? Aw man, I don't know which of Hughes siblings I like better; they all sound so interesting. But I think I'm leaning toward Spencer... but maybe he can meet Zack later?

α΄α΄ΚΚα΄α΄α΄α΄Ιͺα΄: Quick question: are werewolves born werewolves, or are they changed through a bite? Both? That question can be applied to vampires too, actually.
|
|
|
Post by α΄α΄ΚΚα΄α΄α΄α΄Ιͺα΄ on Nov 17, 2018 19:22:36 GMT -5
It's hereditary for werewolves, (that might change later) and through a bite for vampires. For vampires, the venom is only transferred if the vampire intends for it too. Vampires also have the ability to alter a human's memories through their venom.
Some werewolves can be born into a family of werewolves, or born into a family of humans and the gene doesn't kick in till around a certain age. It's really just however you want it to fit with your character ^^

α΄α΄Κ βΎβ§ (It took me way too darn long to type this but h e r e i t i s ) Spencer didnβt understand where they had gone wrong.
The full moon was tonight; how could they forget?! She supposed with how busy their lives had been lately, they just hadnβt paid attention to the calendar. But sure enough, at a glance, todayβs date was marked with a deliberate red circle. Transformation night.
And she had gotten takeout for them and everything! Though she would never admit it to anyone but maaaybe Zack, and only if he really pestered her about it, she was actually really looking forward to a night in. Just her and her brother, watching Netflix and eating chinese. It was their thing. But then Zack, the stupid idiot that he is, had texted her that he was going to be late, and she had to eat all alone. And now this.
Well, at least she had already eaten, so there wasnβt any danger of going on a ravenous rampage. She absolutely hated waking up in the woods with blood smeared on her face, even if it was a rare occurrence (she usually kept her head during these nights, but sometimes hunger and other emotions could wear down her mindβs defenses against instinct, so to speak). She picked up her phone, finding no message from Zack. She furiously typed out a warning and sent it, knowing full well that he had forgotten too.
A few minutes passed, and nothing happened. For all I know, he couldβve turned already. The thought was stressing, but she forced herself to push it away. She tossed her phone on the couch and stepped outside onto the back porch. The October air was chilly, even worse as a slight breeze stirred, gently tugging at the dirty-blonde hair tied high on the sides of her head. It could happen at any moment; now all that was left was to be prepared. Her sharp eyes scanned the backyard, and the dark trees beyond. There wasnβt anyone around as far as she could tell, so hopefully she could make a dash for the woods undetected.
Finally, it happened. Brightness obscured her vision as her body became encased in light, and she doubled over onto her hands and knees, her hands and feet quickly replaced by sandy-colored paws. She shook her pelt, an attempt to become accustomed to this body once again. Suddenly her ears picked up a distant howl, long and lonely. Zack. But she was still on their back porch, within earshot of the other houses on the street, so she couldnβt answer the call just yet. She jumped down the steps and scampered away into the woods. It wasnβt until she was a safe distance amongst the trees that she finally stopped, tilted her head back, and let out her own howl.

Okayokayokay I have one more question before I can finish my replies so sorry. Could time and experience help a werewolf put off the change on a full moon? Not stop it or anything, but just keep it from happening right away? I imagine it would be very difficult, and likely painful, but it's cool if not. Just trying to flesh out the werewolf side of Blaze a bit.

(It's all good ^^ Nah werewolves can't control their transformations on nights of the full moon, though exactly what time they transform can vary depending on how convenient it would be for the plot. So not every werewolf would transform at the same time. And they can't really build up a tolerance for it either)

(Lol I gotta interject here to clear it up; but my post and Patience's post don't necessarily take place at the same time, since we didn't coordinate it or anything. Also, my post with Spencer is basically picking up where I left off after a scene with Zack, which isn't connected to Catherine or anything lol.
So basically, it doesn't have to be a full moon in your rp with Blaze and Catherine unless you want it to be lol. I hope that's not confusing
Edit: also wanna say since I probably didn't make it clear in my rp post, but in the post with Spencer it's currently pretty late at night, say idk...10 or 11 pm? So the moon would be pretty high in the sky at that point, which is how they remembered)

β½Boopβ½ (I'm gonna do something stupid) After a long cycle of peeking and ducking, Finn finally saw the familiar form of Christopher as he appeared behind the check-out counter. He ducked his head back behind the book before he could be recognized. Well, it was true. The vampire worked here after all. But now that he was here, what was Finn supposed to do? What had he even come here to do?
This was a mistake, he thought, words racing and rolling through his head like a roller coaster. Maybe I should just leave. Without moving the book, he gently scooted his body over to the left, hoping to inconspicuously move away from the table and make a stealthy escape. But he miscalculated his awkward movements, and suddenly, his whole body was tilting over the edge of the chair. Next thing Finn knew he was on the floor, a loud clattering sound echoing around the room along with a surprised "oof!". The book fell on the floor next to him, and his hat was missing. All Finn could do was stare up at the ceiling in bewilderment. I've really done it now.

β½Boopβ½Renegade wasn't one to shy away from a challenge, no matter how risky, ridiculous, or plain stupid it may be. He had scaled buildings with no equipment, held a metal rod in the middle of a lightning storm, and walked right into midday traffic - multiple times. But this newest challenge seemed particularly dangerous. And possibly stupid.
Take a walk in the woods, they said. Sure, easy peasy. During a full moon, they said. Aye, mate, no problem. And touch a werewolf, they said. Wow, man. Are you trying to kill me?
He hadn't gotten a response to that one.
Standing in the middle of a moonlit clearing deep in the forest, hands in his jacket pockets, Ren found he wasn't the least bit daunted by his possible death at the hands - or jaws, he supposed - of a werewolf. This game of extreme dare he'd entered with a group of younger vampires after his recent arrival to Bleakridge was too much fun, especially because he always won. The youngsters had yet to lay down a challenge Ren wasn't willing and able to conquer. Touching a werewolf, in full beast mode, on the night of a full moon, was no different.
Well, maybe a little different. After all, this was the first dare he'd accepted where something might bite back.
A small smile curled his lips, and an excited gleam entered his eyes. He'd been waiting, standing in this same spot, since the sun set. He knew this forest was where the werewolves who called the city of Bleakridge home liked to spend their nights as wolves, so it was only a matter of time before one caught his scent and came running. Werewolves were not as fond of vampires as he was of them.
He was an anomaly that way. He still felt the instinctual dislike rise up in him whenever he saw or scented a werewolf, but his centuries of living had taught him ways to overcome the hate and see werewolves not as his bitter enemy - with a few startling exceptions - but as just another supernatural race trying to make a life in this human infested world. He had yet to make any friends with werewolves, but he could be patient when he needed to be. One day, he would convince a werewolf to befriend him.
A howl suddenly rent the air, the sound⦠lonely? Ren wasn't too familiar with the feeling so it was hard to be sure. He waited, wondering if there would be a response, or if the wolf would call out again. If not, he had a pretty good guess where the howl had come from, so he could always head that direction and hope he ran into the beast.
When the second howl came, from the opposite direction, Ren was a little surprised it was so close. Still a couple yards out, but much nearer than the first one. The wind was blowing his scent away from the second wolf, so maybe that was why it hadn't picked up on his presence in the forest.
But it wouldn't be long before it stumbled upon him, if it was aiming to join the first wolf, which he had no doubt it was. So all he had to do now was wait.

(Well throughout history vampires and werewolves have just naturally hated each other, kinda like cats and dogs. Sometimes they have justified reasons though, like how some werewolves claim to attack vampires in order to "protect the humans". But really, it just depends on whatever you want to happen. Not every vampire and werewolf will clash when they see each other, but more often than not they will. But if that's not the kind of story you want to tell, then there can be some sort of alliance if you want. Every vampire, werewolf, and human will have their own opinion on how the others should be treated. Sorry that was so wordy, I hope I managed to answer your question through all my rambling ^^; )

Blerg, this is not my best work, and gives me total bleh feelings, but it'll do. xP α΄α΄ΚΚα΄α΄α΄α΄Ιͺα΄Blaze was going to kill his sister. With love, of course, but she was still going to be dead by the time he was through with her. That, or at least very, very grounded. But first: he had to find her.
It would never cease to amaze him how well Dreamer could manage to manipulate him without his notice. Anyone else who tried that would be sniffed out in seconds, but Dreamer? No matter how many times he fell for her misdirections, he couldn't stop believing her when she gave him that look. And the brat knew she'd be in trouble when he found out, so now she was hiding. He had three good guesses where, and none of them were places he liked her being.
That was why he was currently stalking down the darkening city streets like a man on a mission. The people he passed took one look at his stoney face and got out of his way real quick. There were even a couple fellow werewolves giving him a wide berth. Blaze hardly noticed. He was too busy thinking about ways to kill (a.k.a. ground) his sister that would really hurt. Taking away her phone was a good start. Tickling was always fun. Or maybe -
His eyes - which had been staring fixedly ahead, narrowed and angry - suddenly swung to the left and widened slightly as a scent hit his nose. A vampire's scent. She was easy to spot, wearing head-to-toe black and with an umbrella over her head. The sight might have gotten a smirk out of him if he wasn't currently so grumpy, though he couldn't help a faint twinge of amusement at the sight of her.

α΄α΄ΚΚα΄α΄α΄α΄Ιͺα΄ (Nah I love their cute interactions lol) Suddenly Christopher heard a loud noise coming from the direction of the reading tables, and his head immediately jerked upwards towards the source. At first glance, his eyes grew wide and he drew in a sharp breath. Finn?! Honestly, he should have known. He did catch a whiff of him as he entered the room, but had dismissed it.
But what the heck was he doing here? After what happened two days ago, he would have expected the werewolf to stay far away from him. Itβs what Chris would have done, had he been in his shoes. Maybe it was just a coincidence that Finn happened to be here; perhaps heβd been looking to check out a book. It was a public library, after all. But then Chris noticed the book next to him on the floor, the one that was previously being held upside down.
He narrowed his eyes, eyebrows scrunching into a scowl. What was going on here? Finn was being suspicious, and he was pretty obvious about it too. Christopher had enough the other day; he didnβt appreciate the fact that this werewolf might actually be here stalking him, after heβd narrowly avoided being torn to shreds in their previous meeting. Cursing under his breath, he stepped out from behind the check-out desk and deliberately approached the boy on the floor. Soon he was standing over him, mild irritation displayed on his features.
βWhat are you doing?β he asked. He didnβt quite extend his hand in offering, not yet.

α΄α΄Κ βΎβ§ Spencer ended her long sad song, the howl dying in her throat. Hopefully her older brother could hear it, and if he did then perhaps he would come home. As far as she knew, he could be at the college where sheβd last seen him. I hope he didnβt shift in front of anyone. The thought of terrified students attacking him in fear sent shivers up her spine, but she shook her head to dismiss it. There was no use in worrying about him. As stupid as he was, he did have a talent for getting out of shenanigans (namely, ones heβd gotten himself into).
She remembered the text Zack had sent her earlier. βSomething came up. Iβll tell you about it later.β She had assumed it was something stupid so sheβd teased him, accusing him of hooking up on takeout night even though she knew heβd never actually do that. But what if it really was something serious? And on the full moon, tooβ¦
Spencer, get a grip! If anything happens itβs his own fault!
Ugh. Caring was stupid, and so was having a brother. Come to think of it, so was being a darned wolf. Which brought her back to the present. There wasnβt that much to do now but wait until she could shift back, and thankfully her mind was still pretty intact. And she could just sit and wait, but that was rather boring. So instead she decided to just take a walk. She supposed the woods could be somewhat interesting. Sometimes.
After a few minutes of walking, she caught a very strange scent. It was completely unfamiliar to her, and it made her curious. She kept sniffing, trying to triangulate exactly where it was coming from. Carefully picking through the undergrowth, she followed her nose, until she spotted a clearing with...a person? What the heck was a person doing out here so late at night? And he seemed to just...stand there. Like he was waiting for something. This is a wierdo, probably, she immediately judged. And yet, she hadnβt made much effort to conceal herself. She didnβt notice how the moonlight dappled across her sandy-colored coat, and the small βMroof?β that escaped her throat in surprise.

α΄α΄Κ βΎβ§ Catherine stiffened slightly, breaking her pace for only a moment as she noticed someone walking down the sidewalk in her direction. By the smell of him, she could tell that he was a werewolf. That could potentially become a problem and inhibit her plans.
The vampire glanced around with wary eyes. While this part of town wasn't exactly thriving with witnesses, it would still be a bit foolish for a werewolf to attack her out here in public. If he even wanted to, that is. Well, no matter. Whatever happened, Catherine was confident that she would be fine.
As she drew closer to the werewolf, she peeked out at him from under her umbrella. She studied him in that brief moment, noticing that he was actually a little handsome, for a werewolf. Catherine winked at him with azure blue eyes, though there were visible red rings around her pupils, a symbol of her growing thirst for blood. Then she flashed him a fanged smile. The message sent through her gestures were bold and clear: That's right, I'm a vampire, and I know what you are. What will you do next? β½Boopβ½ Finn was still lying on the floor and staring up at the ceiling when suddenly Christopher's head appeared in his line of sight. The vampire didn't look happy. "Uh..." He blinked, his cheeks going red in an instant. He had to come up with some excuse. "Well, I, um...I was just in town...getting some new clothes." That technically wasn't a lie; after his old jacket and shirt were ruined from the bloodstains, he had to purchase new ones. The evidence was already on his body. Of course, it was after the clothes shopping when he decided to come to the library. "And I decided to come here and look at some books...that's all." He was still lying on the floor as he said this, clearly embarrassed as the blush on his cheeks deepened in color.

α΄α΄ΚΚα΄α΄α΄α΄Ιͺα΄Something about Finn's blush and the way he was haphazardly sprawled on the floor seemed to put a crack in Christopher's irritation. He smirked a little. "Oh, really?" he asked, voice lilting. Sure, maybe he could buy the clothes bit. But looking at books? Christopher seriously doubted Finn had any interest in reading; after all, he had never seen the werewolf in this library before. He nodded at the book Finn was 'reading', strewn on the floor nearby. "I've never met anyone who reads upside down for fun. You should give me tips." A small snort escaped his nose, and he crouched down to Finn's level. His left hand emerged from his jacket pocket as he held it out to the brown-haired man. "You knew I work here." he muttered, his tone a bit more accusing.

β½Boopβ½ Renβs ears perked up - metaphorically, of course - when he heard the sound of approaching pawsteps. He'd seen dozens of werewolves over the centuries, both in and out of wolf form, but they never failed to steal his breath when he beheld the beautiful creatures. Wolves - regular wolves - had always fascinated and awed him; it was hardly surprising the wolf forms of werewolves did too. He could do without their human form, honestly.
This particular werewolf - female, and smaller than average, though still twice that of a normal wolf - was no different. He took one look at her and felt a smile inching across his face. This was the closest he'd ever been to a werewolf in this form - well, the closest he'd been to a docile werewolf in this form - and the effect was so much better than watching from a distance big enough even his vampire eyes sometimes had trouble breeching. She was beautiful.
And, it seemed, she had no idea what he was. Or perhaps it just hadn't sunk in yet. But something about her demeanour had him leaning more toward the former. She must not have been turning for long, then, if he was the first vampire she'd encountered. Unless her distant companion was older and had simply managed to keep her away from any vamps until now. Either way, this could work to his advantage. It would be much easier to touch her if she wasn't trying to kill him.
Head canted to one side, Ren took a single step toward the wolf, and he subtly altered his stance into one, as an animal and fellow predator, she would understand. Shoulders back, chin up, energy calm and assertive. He didn't have ears or a tail to communicate, so he used what he did have to convey that while he wasn't a threat to her, he wasn't a meek human either. He wanted to see what her reaction to him would be, so he could better determine a course of action.
