~Introduction~
Welcome to the city of Bleakridge, where it's rarely sunny, yet the people here appear to live happy and unassuming lives. It's a decent city, semi-rural, that tries to incorporate itself into nature and the mountains that surround it. It's currently October, and the citizens are all gearing up for the fall festivities, swept up in their annual Halloween spirit. But with the cloudy weather and dense forests, it's the perfect place for vampires and werewolves both to come flocking. And with so many from each side in one area, tensions tend to rise and fights break out. It's a miracle they haven't tipped off their entire existence to the human population yet. Well...most of them. Like cats and dogs, vampires and werewolves have hated each other for as long as they can remember. Equally matched by their supernatural strength, they clash, again and again and again. But while they wage their secret war, a new enemy rises, one that they would never suspect. So whether you choose to fight? It's up to you. Just remember where your real enemy lies.

~Vampires, Werewolves, and Humans~
Vampires... ...are the stealthy predators of the night, feeding on the blood of humans to keep them sustained. The hungrier they get, the redder their eyes become. When hungry, they will have irises that are in some shade of red, amber, or reddish-brown. Once full, their eyes will return to their original color. They all have fangs. They also tend to be much stronger than your average human. Vampires avoid the sunlight if they can, because it tends to sizzle their skin and leave burns that heal much slower than if they were human. They can, however, walk out into the sunlight if they are wearing the proper protection. But the biggest thing to keep in mind about vampires, is that they absolutely hate werewolves.
Werewolves... ...are just how you might imagine. Humans that can change into the form of a giant wolf. Their wolf forms are fast and strong, their heights ranging around a few feet higher than average wolves. They can blend right into society, provided that they stay in their human form. Werewolves can normally shift at will, but there are times when they can't control it. Strong emotions can force them to change form, and on nights of the full moon, all werewolves will shift, regardless of whether they wish to or not. Most importantly, you shouldn't forget--werewolves absolutely hate vampires.
Humans... ...have begun to suspect the existence of both. Some of them believe in these supernatural beings, but usually keep those opinions to themselves, else they are deemed insane. These cautious individuals hold something that both vampires and werewolves have to be wary of. A shared weakness--silver. Whether it be silver bullets, silver knives, or silver jewelry, these particular humans are armed and shouldn't be taken lightly by either side.

β½Boopβ½ So far, it had been somewhat of a long night for Finn. He hadn't expected to be invited last minute to one of those early Halloween parties, yet here he was. At least the house and yard were pretty large, so he didn't feel too cramped with all of the other college kids that were here.
He tugged his jacket a little bit tighter around around his body as he made his way over to the kitchen, dodging students as they swung their bottles of alcohol and loudly commented on each other's costumes. Finn himself hadn't had time to come up with a costume idea, since he had only just received the invitation earlier today. So unfortunately, he couldn't quite jump in on the fun. Which was why he was currently sneaking into the kitchen, where he planned to spend most of his time. Free food made parties like these worth it, right? (Here's...something, lol. Just respond whenever you want)

Christopher wasn't sure whose party this was. It was probably a student at the local college, but he wouldn't know them personally since he didn't attend. And yet, here he was. He was pretty sure nobody here would know him; after all, he spent most of his days working at the library. But not the college's library, no, the town's library. The one nobody from this age group visited, at least, not the type of people who would throw an early Halloween party.
He came to this party mostly because...it looked inviting. The crowds of young people dancing, drinking, cheering, they were all the sounds and sights of life. Christopher found it particularly intriguing, because he's technically been dead for years. Since he became a vampire, he's been very interested in mortals. But he found it much easier to observe them from afar, rather than interact himself. After all, he didn't have the appearance of a 'cool' person, and besides...no one knew him. He didn't really want to get kicked out.
So that's why he was standing in the kitchen, away from the center of the crowd.
It was a costume party, but Christopher didn't need a costume. He came as himself. Truth be told, he hadn't quenched his thirst for blood in a while, so his eyes had taken on the red color that tends to appear. He didn't bother to hide his fangs either. So if anyone asked, Christopher came as a vampire! Though it was true in more ways than one. Admittedly it was a little risky to be around lots of mortals when he was thirsty, but he was pretty sure he could handle himself. He had a blood packet in his car, thanks to Brooke, so if he ever felt uncomfortable for any reason he could just cop out, poke a hole, and driiinnnkkk. That was the plan, anyway.
A shorter boy came into the kitchen, looking like his mind was set on something. He wasn't wearing a costume...hmm, shame. He drew a little closer to where Christopher was leaning with his back to the counter, and he got a whiff of the boy's scent. He smelled a lot like a dog. Eww. Christopher tried not to let his face reveal anything as he greeted the boy casually. "Hey there. You looking for something?"

β½Boopβ½Finn made his way over to the kitchen counter, where all of the food was laid out. There was a variety of snacks, but Finn was a little weary of eating food that was sitting in an open bowl for anyone to touch. He was weary, but he also had the appetite of a wolf, and his growling stomach was too much to ignore. So he loomed over the bowl of pretzels that sat on the counter, wondering if he should just fill up a bag of the stuff and then leave.
But before he could make a decision, a voice spoke nearby, making Finn jump. He looked up to see another young man, leaning against the counter. He briefly wondered how he hadn't noticed the guy before, but it wasn't important.
"Oh, uh...I was just getting some food." Finn answered, rubbing the back of his neck in slight embarrassment at being startled. He glanced at the other man's face, and his breath caught in his throat. He had a pale complexion, and his eyes were a startling shade of red. He looked a lot like...
Finn had to do a double-take. "Hey um, what's your costume?" he asked, hoping, almost praying that the guy would give him a certain answer.

Christopher looked over the boy as he talked. He was pretty cute, Chris had to admit, even if his smell was a little off-putting. Maybe he had a dog at home? He noticed when the boy looked at his face, he seemed to be surprised. Ahh, right. The eyes. Christopher decided to put a little confidence in his bluffing, and grinned widely, showing off his very real fangs. "Vampire." he answered simply, hoping the boy wouldn't question how realistic they looked. "Simple and effective."
Even though he'd asked, it seemed the other boy wasn't wearing a costume. It was a costume party, right? "What about you?" he asked. "I can't quite tell what you are...if you dressed up, that is."

β½Boopβ½Finn had to stop himself from outwardly sighing in relief at the man's answer. Thank goodness it was just a costume. If the stranger were actually a vampire, well...Finn didn't know what he would do. Still, the costume looked very realistic. Maybe the guy was just really good at dressing up. Yeah. That had to be it.
He almost didn't catch it when the question was returned to him. "Oh, I'm not wearing a costume." he answered, tugging subconsciously at the toboggan that covered his head. "I would have, but I didn't get the invite until like, a little while ago. So I didn't have time. But if I did..." he rubbed the back of his neck again. "I probably would have come as a werewolf." He forced a small laugh. It was a bit of a joke, given that he was actually a werewolf, but it would only have been funny to him. There was no way anyone here would know that, anyways.
"So, um...do you know the person who threw this party?" By asking that, he meant if the man knew his friend, Riley. She was the one who invited him, and while Finn had recognized a good number of the faces here, he had never seen this man before. He wondered how they had met.

α΄α΄ΚΚα΄α΄α΄α΄Ιͺα΄Christopher blinked in surprise when the boy gave his answer, and his crimson eyes seemed to flash. A werewolf, hmm? Briefly he wondered if the other boy could possibly be pulling the same bluff he was. Perhaps he was actually a werewolf, and using his hypothetical costume to hide it? But his story seemed credible enough, so he dismissed the thought. After all, it just wasn't likely he'd run into a werewolf here. And if he did, he'd know. The stinking brutes would probably get drunk and cause a scene, transforming into their hulking canine forms and destroying everything.
But was that really what they'd do? Or was that just a rumor spread among vampires? One thing Chris did know is that if one caught him, he'd be a dead man...er, vampire. They hated his kind, and that was reason enough to avoid them.
"If I can tell you a secret..." Chris began. He then leaned down to the stranger's eye-level, and muttered quietly so only the two could hear. "I don't think I've met a single person here. I have no idea who owns this house. I'm just here because it seemed...lively." The last word was spoken with emphasis; it had more meaning than this boy could understand, Chris was certain.
At that moment he realized he'd made a mistake. From this angle he had a clear view of the boy's neck, and his thirst crept back into the front of his mind. It just looked so clean, spotless, perfect for sinking one's fangs into... No. Bad idea! BAD idea! He quickly straightened up, clenching his fists in his jacket pockets. He hoped the other didn't notice how flustered he was all of a sudden.
"But what about you? I suppose if you've been invited, you must know." he inquired quickly, trying to distract from...whatever just happened.

β½Boopβ½The skin on Finn's neck seemed to prickle when the other man got close. Call it instinct if you will, but he suddenly felt the urge to take a step back. And why was the man's comment sending shivers down his spine? For some reason, the aura surrounding this stranger gave Finn a bad feeling.
His heart began to beat faster, his breath catching in his throat. He was about to move away, but then the man abruptly retreated. Finn blinked. A strange moment had passed between them, and he wasn't sure what it was. But it went as quickly as it had come, and now the stranger was asking him another question.
"Yeah," he answered, with the slightest tremble to his voice. "My friend Riley threw this party. I, um, guess she wouldn't mind that you're here...She loves meeting new people anyways." Nevermind the fact that it was really weird for this guy to just show up to a party when he didn't even know anyone here. Perhaps that should have been a red flag.
"So, what's your name anyways?" Finn suddenly asked. His tone was forcibly light, but there was no smile on his face, or any indication from his countenance that he was happy to be conversing. If anything, there was a hint of suspicion and fear in his eyes. "Do you go to the college here?"

α΄α΄ΚΚα΄α΄α΄α΄Ιͺα΄Ahh. Christopher knew that look. Actually, it was quite familiar to him. He knew the rumors. He was 'that creepy librarian'; he often heard people talk about him. Between his pale complexion, his dark clothing, his aversion to sunlight, and his awkward demeanor (oh and not to mention his piercings), the mortals didn't like him very much. He understood though. He was a vampire, after all, even if nobody really knew.
But he didn't really want to scare this guy off. He was interesting, and adorable, even though he was clearly uncomfortable. Perhaps a recovery was in order. Except...Christopher didn't really know how to smooth it over. He decided to just answer his question instead. "I'm Christopher, last name Woodman." Did people usually give out their last names? Ahh, it's been a while since he introduced himself to a mortal. "And um...I don't go to college. I actually work at the library. The public library, that is." He shifted his weight, trying to appear a bit more casual and less...imposing?
"What about you, though? I'm guessing you are a student."

β½Boopβ½Christopher Woodman, huh? Finn had to admit, he had never heard of him before. Though maybe he had seen him once at the library, but he couldn't be sure. His visits to the library were pretty infrequent, usually only when it was required for classes. Or when he needed some quiet. But there were other places to go if he needed that, specific places for people like him...
"Yeah, I go to college--"
"Hey, Finn!"
Finn was cut off by the voice of someone else yelling across the room at him. Turning, he saw that it was his friend Riley. Her aqua blue dyed hair was unmistakable. She was wearing a simple Halloween-themed headband that had a little top hat attached to it. It was simple, but it worked for a Halloween party. She crossed the room to put an arm over Finn's shoulder.
"I'm glad you could make it," she told him. Luckily, she didn't appear to be intoxicated like the other people here. But she was noticeably a bit more animated than usual. Riley looked at Chris, her expression a lot more trusting than Finn's. "Oh, and who's this? Is he your friend?"
A small noise was all that came out of Finn's mouth. He looked at Chris, unsure of what to say. (Jeez I'm sorry this post is bad and weird. I didn't really know what I was doing, so I threw Riley in. Maybe we can get a sort of plot from this)
