Cinderpaw ;; { thunderclan territory - apprentice competition entry: hunting }
The first part of the competition was to be hunting and Cinderpaw was rather nervous. She was an okay hunter, but not as great as most of her fellow apprentices. Her blue eyes were a bit worried as she left the camp, a little afraid of being out in the forest alone. She watched Hollypaw leave confidently, looking like she knew exactly where she was going. Cinderpaw felt a stab of hopelessness - she would never be able to beat her friends. She wasn't as good at being an apprentice like they were.
With a sigh, the grey tabby headed off, thinking about where she wanted to go. Maybe she would head for the woods near the Ancient Oak. Due to all the leaves on the ground, there was sure to be prey there. Especially mice and squirrels; Cinderpaw's favorite things to catch. Feeling a little more optimistic, the slender feline hurried off in that direction. She didn't want to stop and hunt until she got to her destination - she would be saving time that way.
Cinderpaw felt a stab of relief when she made it to her destination after a good amount of walking. She decided she would hunt on the ground first, then try the trees for squirrels or birds. The apprentice was still a tad nervous, but now that she was there, felt like she could do well.
A shuffling in the dead leaves ahead of her caught Cinderpaw's attention. Feeling a sudden rush of unexpected surprise, the grey tabby immediately dropped into a hunter's crouch. She could smell the mouse that was making the racket. Soon the little animal poked its head out from under a leaf, unaware of its stalker. Cinderpaw wiggled her haunches before springing at the mouse, catching it in her paws and swatting it towards her muzzle. Without thinking, the she-cat gave it the killing bite and had to look away as it died. She still wasn't very used to killing things, even if it was only food. Cinderpaw thanked StarClan for its life and buried the kill, going off to search for more.
The grey apprentice caught another mouse before she considered going up into the trees. She stared up at the limbs, blue eyes determined. She could already hear birds and squirrels scampering around in the treetops. She inhaled deeply before trotting over to a large oak tree, analyzing it before leaping onto the trunk. She scaled the trunk easily - the limbs were the hardest part. The long-legged apprentice hopped onto a large branch and looked around, hoping to spot a squirrel or bird.
Only a few feet ahead of her was a rather large squirrel, nibbling on an acorn. "Perfect," the apprentice said to herself, hiding herself among the leaves. Cinderpaw hadn't much experience tree-hunting, but trying something different felt good. The nimble apprentice hopped deftly onto another branch, trying her best to be silent as she went. The squirrel was still absorbed in its meal, so it was not paying any attention to the cat stalking it.
The animal had little time to escape as Cinderpaw hurled herself at it. It let out a squeal as Cinderpaw caught it in her jaws. Unsure of how she would kill it, the grey cat leaped carefully down the tree. As soon as she met the ground, she killed the squirming squirrel and set it next to her two mice. She felt a glow of pride as she looked at her work. The she-cat went back up in the trees and caught a cardinal before she decided it was time to go home.

Hollypaw ;; { Thunderheart57 - thunderclan camp }
After setting down her large catch, Hollypaw was now wearily waiting for the others to return. She noticed that most of them already were finished, meaning the first challenge would be over soon. Hollypaw couldn't help but be relieved. Even though she had fun and did well, falling in the creek and receiving an injury was not enjoyable. Her nose still stung a bit from where the robin had turned on her and scratched its attacker's nose.
Hollypaw's ears pricked up as she heard her name. She looked around to see her brother, Jaypaw, staring at her with blind eyes. It was always impressive to her that he was able to locate his clanmates so fast. It's like his other senses were heightened in trade of the lack of sight. Hollypaw heaved herself up and trotted over to the light grey tabby. "How did you know I have a scratch?" The black she-cat asked, her green eyes wide. She hadn't even mentioned having one and it wasn't like he could see it.

Jaypaw replied, "I can smell it. It can get infected if I don't treat it." The gray tabby grabbed some cobwebs and walked over to Hollypaw.

Rowanstar ;; { Kana / shadowclan cats - shadowclan camp }
The dark ginger tom watched as his clanmates gathered, his body straightening as he gazed at the cats. Being leader was still like a dream to Rowanstar - he could still remember the day he became deputy. It felt like it was yesterday. The large tom shook himself - he shouldn't be focusing on the past, but the present. That's what this meeting was all about.
Rowanstar made sure that all the apprentices were present before beginning to speak. He especially kept an eye out for his own kits - Dawnpaw, Tigerpaw, and Flamepaw. Flamepaw was most likely with Littlecloud at the moment, but this meeting didn't really concern the medicine cats. Rowanstar's gaze drifted back to the cats and began speaking.
"The tree we have been trying to clear out is obviously too large to move on our own," Rowanstar began, his voice strong and clear. "There is no point on seeing that plan through." He glanced at his mate, Tawnypelt, before continuing, "Tawnypelt gave me the idea of moving our dens so that the pine becomes a sort of a barrier. We could weave brambles and put them behind the trunk and add more protection to our camp."

Mousepaw came padding back into camp, dragging the raven by its wing and carrying the mouse by the tail. He had left the thrush for a later hunting trip. He settled down after a bit, his head feeling heavy. He hoped no one could tell that he was a little dizzy, especially with how one of the medicine cats couldn't see. Not that there was anything wrong with that, of course.

Thunderclan Apprentice Tournament -> Gustpetal Armageddidn't 𝓹𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓵𝔂 𝓬𝓵𝓸𝓾𝓭𝔂 Hawkeyes258
As the apprentices returned to camp, Firestar watched the warriors watching return as well. As he converesed with them, his green eyes gazed over the prey they had brought back. After discussing for awhile, the fiery ginger tom stood a top the High Ledge , waving his tail for his clanmate's attention. "Cats of Thunderclan, the hunting portion of the tournament has commenced, and after discussing with the warrior mentors, as well as judging the prey that has been brought back, I have made a decision on the winner and the first gathering selection spot"Firestar purred, his eyes finally landing on the apprentice he'd chosen. Her fluffy black fur stood out among the other apprentices. " Hollypaw, congratulations. You did a fantastic job"Hunting Portion winner: Hollypaw The next part will be posted in a bit for the climbing portion

Lionpaw figured he couldn't be mad. Hollypaw was quite the hunter after all. "Good job Hollypaw." He called out to his sister.
Squirrelflight purred feeling proud of Hollypaw. "She gets it from Sandstorm obviously." She said jokingly to however was around to hear her.

Cedarheart listened to his brother, his gaze watching his clan mates as Rowanstar spoke. He hoped this idea of Tawnypelt's could work, though it would require a lot of work to move everything.
Tawnypelt smiled hearing her name and credit being given to her. She scanned the clearing for Dawnpaw and Tigerpaw, who she had seen earlier. Those two needed to clean up the warriors den and get to work finding new bedding and moving it to the new spots...wait. The tortoiseshell she-cat paused realizing they'd have to rework the placement. Maybe someone could help with that as well

Poppypaw agreed with the decision. Hollypaw may be one of the new apprentices, but she was very skilled. Firestar had made a good decision. The tortoiseshell she-cat looked around at her fellow apprentices, smiling seeing the competition had already raised the mood since the clan had been recooperating

Shadowclan
Ratscar couldn't argue with that logic. The more defense for the camp the better. "Just tell me what you need me to do and I'll do it!" He called out. He currently wasn't doing anything anyway.

Tawnypelt purred at Ratscar's eagerness. It assured her of Shadowclan's strength even in the face of difficult times, though she never doubted her clan. Taking a moment to leave Cedarheart, Tawnypelt nudged Ratscar in response. "Ratscar, maybe you'd be willing to work with me and some others to plan out new den locations to adapt to our new friend, the pine tree over there" she laughed

Mousepaw sighed softly but didn't take it personally. The raven probably took away from his points. he had gotten carried away, but he wouldn't try so hard this round.

(( 𝓹𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓵𝔂 𝓬𝓵𝓸𝓾𝓭𝔂 Good luck with your book! I just got done reading three and I’m exhausted x.x. In other news, Berrypaw is a very salty boi lmao)) berrypaw - thunderclan camp - open
Perhaps he should have tried to catch more than one piece of prey. The cream-colored tom had been so worried about being the first back to camp that it hadn't occurred to him to maybe try and catch more than one measly squirrel. When he had returned to camp, he had been so proud, his chin thrust in the air, and the squirrel's tail dragging on the ground. He had been delighted to discover that none of the other apprentices had returned yet, and sat down in the clearing, depositing the squirrel at his feet. After sitting there smugly for a while, Berrypaw began to wonder what was taking the others so long. When they finally returned one by one, their jaws laden with prey, his heart sank.
He looked down at his squirrel, and noticed dismally that what he thought was plump and fresh now looked like something that had been banished to the very bottom of the fresh-kill pile, sentenced to lay there by cats with discerning tastes and grimaces of disgust.
It was with a head bowed by shame that he received Firestar's announcement. Normally, Berrypaw might have been indignant at the thought of some other cat besting him, but that would've required him to have actually brought more than one kill to a hunting competition. I'll just have to try harder next time, the tom vowed. His eyes narrowed with renewed intent, and he flexed his claws. Whatever challenge Firestar gave them next, Berrypaw was determined to not just win, but win by a landslide!

Hollyleaf ;; { Kana / Thunderheart57 - thunderclan camp }
Hollypaw sat still as Jaypaw set the cobwebs on her nose, though on the inside she was growing anxious. What if she didn't win? What if she did win? Hollypaw would definitely feel better about falling in the creek and getting scratched if she won the first portion of the competition. Though when she glanced at some of her some of her denmates, Hollypaw felt like they did better than her. With a small sigh, she waited for her brother to finish as well as Firestar to announce the winner.
When the chattering around her ceased, the black she-cat knew that it was time for the winner to be chosen. She thanked Jaypaw quickly before going to sit down next to Cinderpaw, who also seemed nervous. "How did it go?" Hollypaw asked her friend, who looked at her with big blue eyes. "It went ok. I ended up losing one of my mice to a hawk while I was still hunting." Hollypaw's own eyes became sympathetic and she patted the grey apprentice with her fluffy tail. "I'm sorry, that's too bad. I'm sure you did great otherwise."
Firestar's voice caught the two's attention and they fell silent. The group of apprentices were on edge, each anticipating who would be the victor. Hollypaw's tail twitched with anxiety as Firestar began speaking.
The black apprentice's green eyes grew as large as the moon as the ginger leader called out her name. "I won?!" She squeaked, voice pitched with amazement. Cinderpaw was happy for her friend and was the first to congratulate her. Hollypaw's fur fluffed with excitement and she was very proud of herself. "Thank you!" She called to the cats who congratulated her. She guessed getting her fur wet and getting an injury was worth it after all!

Brambleclaw ;; { Hawkeyes258 - thunderclan camp }
Brambleclaw purred with pride at his daughter, Hollypaw, who was the winner of the first round. He padded over to the fluffy black feline, giving her an affectionate lick on the forehead. "Well done," he congratulated, while Hollypaw's green eyes glowed with pride.
He then padded over to his mate, Squirrelflight, who was with Leafpool and Jaypaw. He was there just in time to hear the ginger she-cat mention Sandstorm. Brambleclaw felt a pang in his stomach, remembering how Squirrelflight's mother had died. He greeted his mate and sat down text to her. "We've raised our kits well," the tabby commented, looking over at Jaypaw, Hollypaw, and Lionpaw. He was equally proud of each of them.

Rowanstar ;; { Kana / Hawkeyes258 / shadowclan cats - shadowclan camp }
Rowanstar was pleased to see his clanmates acceptive of the idea. He looked gratefully over at his brother (Cedarheart), Tawnypelt, and Ratscar. "We will have separate job assignments," he decided to his clan. "The apprentices will continue doing the clean-up work, while our warriors will start gathering brambles and supplies to create the barrier." He glanced at the cats beside him, then over at his deputy. "The rest of us will start planning the new den placements and we will inform you on that later on. No one will be left without work." Then he remembered Snowbird, who was still expecting her kits. She would not have to participate in this event, Rowanstar decided. "Snowbird, you can help us decided where to place the new dens, if you'd like." The she-cat nodded at his words and the ginger leader felt satisfied. "The meeting is over. You may all begin on your assignments.. now."

Crowfeather ;; { Kana / Gustpetal - moonpool mission }
Memories flooded Crowfeather as soon as he set foot in ThunderClan territory. It was almost painful - the scents, the trees, the foliage - everything reminded him of her. His black pelt crawled as they continued on and Crowfeather wanted to spend as little time as possible in this region. He never liked having a canopy overhead, but he had many more reasons to not enjoy being where he was. The tom prayed to StarClan no ThunderClan cats appeared on them. They would surely not like the idea of him being on their land.
Crowfeather blinked in surprise as Heatherpaw raced ahead of the others, obviously eager to visit the sacred pool of water. As the trees began to open and the path grew wider, Crowfeather was able to finally see the renowned Moonpool. It truly was a "moon-pool"; it glowed and shimmered like the night sky. Crowfeather's heart was racing. He knew this wasn't about him and he was only there for the escort, but he longed to meet with Feathertail.
