Flamepaw felt a rush when his paw connected with Littlecloud, causing the older tom to stagger. His joy was quickly replaced by concern, however, as he worried that he might have hurt his mentor. The tom seemed to shrug off the blow, though, and Flamepaw let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. "Ok," the ginger apprentice panted. He lunged again.

(Put up a poll question) Whitetail -> Journey group lazy penguin 𝓹𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓵𝔂 𝓬𝓵𝓸𝓾𝓭𝔂 GustpetalWhitetail kept a careful watch as they crossed through Thunderclan territory. The air was calm, and it seemed no one was around, which relieved the white she-cat as she wasn't exactly wanting to confront a patrol. As they passed through, Whitetail could see the hill side of Moonpool in the distance. She smiled and waved her tail. "Do you see up ahead. That's the Moonpool"

heatherpaw - moonpool - whitetail (Kana )
They slipped into the trees, and the canopy swallowed up the sun. Heatherpaw was suddenly flooded with new scents and sounds. Birds trilled, twigs snapped underfoot, and occasionally, things flashed through the trees and the undergrowth. The apprentice, who had only ever known the open moor, began to feel uneasy. It seemed all too convenient for a patrol of ThunderClan warriors to catch them by surprise and sneak up on them through all this vegetation and shadow.
It was with relief that Heatherpaw received Whitetail's words. "Finally!" she exclaimed. Without thinking, she ran ahead of the others, streaking past Whitetail, and scrambling to the crest of the hill so that she could behold the Moonpool with her own eyes. What she saw took her breath away. True to its name, the round pool shimmered like the moon. In the rocks that surrounded the pool, Heatherpaw thought she saw the imprints of paws. Gingerly, she placed her paw in one of these imprints. It swallowed hers, and Heatherpaw marveled at how much bigger the pads of a full-grown cat were in comparison to hers. She tried to imagine for a moment what it would be like when she became a warrior, and her paws were this big.

Jaypaw came back with his third catch. The gray tabby was proud. "See, I told you!" he said to Firestar.

Firestar sighed. He couldn't lie that he was concerned for Jaypaw, yet was proud of the medicine cat's catch. Smiling softly he purred. I see yes, and congratulations for that. I'm sorry for doubting you Jaypaw". The ginger tom looked down and padded over to the blind apprentice. "I wanted you to focus on your duties with Leafpool, thinking it would help you accept the position you are in as a medicine cat, but I shouldn't have dismissed you from this tournament like I did"

Cloudtail padded towards the camp entrance. It had been a while since he'd gone out and hunted so the white warrior wanted to go out for a spell. He turned and looked around camp, trying to spot anyone who might want to go hunt with him.

Firestar purred. "Yes you may. Just know that we need you both back in case any apprentices happen to fall out of a tree later" he chuckled.
Whitewing purred seeing her father. "Cloudtail, where are you going? The apprentices are out there. Knowing them they'll think you're a ghost standing out in all the underbrush"

Hey)
Lionpaw dashed away heading in the direction of the Sky Tree. He paused once he was a good distance away. Lionpaw scented a bird near by. Crouching down, Lionpaw slowly moved forward making sure to keep his body low. Lionpaw moved a little closer and leaped forward using his weight to pin the bird down. Lionpaw bites the bird's neck killing it.

Hollyleaf ;; { thunderclan territory - apprentice competition entry: hunting }
With a flutter of anxiety, Hollypaw headed out for the woods. Luckily her dark fur would mask her in the foliage, but it's length often annoyed her with the ability to catch in brambles and what-not. The she-cat was debating on where she would go to hunt in ThunderClan territory. The apprentice had many decent places to chose from, but the problem was who would already be there. Hollypaw preferred hunting alone, where she didn't have to worry about some other cat going after her prey. The black feline decided she would head in the direction of the Moonpool, where she knew prey would be prevalent due to the water source.
Scenting the air to make sure no one else was around, Hollypaw slid off towards her desired destination, feeling quite confident in herself. If she came across any prey on her way, she'd kill that as well, then hide it and bring it back along with whatever else she caught.
Hollypaw was only about halfway there when she heard a fluttering of wings nearby. The apprentice froze, senses sharpening as her green gaze snapped around. There - in the bushes - was a thrush, pecking away at some kind of insect to eat. Hollypaw smirked - it had no idea she was there. She dropped into a crouch; a large juniper bush mostly covering her appearance. The strong smell of the plant also aided in her stalking, masking her strong cat scent. Hollypaw's pupils dilated as she focused on the bird. The thrush was so busy with its own kill that it didn't notice the feline staring it down.
In a flurry of fur and feathers, Hollypaw shot at the poor bird and pinned it down. The animal screeched, eyes wild as Hollypaw grasped it in her unsheathed paws. She bent down quickly and bit its jugular vein, killing it instantly. She winced at the taste of blood in her mouth; it startled her everytime. She sent a silent prayer to StarClan before picking the thrush up to bury it. Hollypaw hid it beneath the juniper she had been hiding under, hoping its fronds would hide any visibility of her kill. She brushed leaves and dirt over it as well, praying no one else would find it. With that being over with, Hollypaw hurried off to her original destination - the forest around the Moonpool and abandoned Twoleg place.
It didn't take her long to get there after that. The black she-cat could see the stream running to the sacred pool from where she stood. Hollypaw hoped to catch a water vole - it was personally a favorite of hers. She scented the air and crept closer to the creek, paws silent against the forest floor. As she continued to smell her surroundings, she caught a scent of an animal. To her delight, a water vole. Hollypaw dropped back into the hunter's crouch, nostrils flaring and eyes searching. At first, the black cat couldn't even see the animal, only identifying it by smell. The apprentice was becoming frustrated when she saw the animal peek its head out from under a rock that was leaning sideways against another, creating a perfect shelter for a small mammal. Hollypaw's tail twitched excitedly as she readied her muscles to leap.
Just as she shot out of hiding, the small animal noticed her and fled. Hollypaw tried to skid to a halt but her paws slid against the leaves beneath her. Flailing, the black apprentice fell into the water, yelping at the cold liquid. Thankfully, the stream was not deep and she could stand up. Hollypaw let out a growl of frustration; the water vole was gone and now she was wet. The she-cat emerged from the creek and shook out her fur, feeling very upset. Now she'd have to hunt while sodden! Trying to be optomistic, Hollypaw told herself that maybe the water would mask her scent and she'd be less hot. Still, this was a huge downer for her expedition.
With a loud sigh, the apprentice traveled on, managing to catch a rabbit and a squirrel as she headed back to where she'd left her first kill. Feeling rather worn out, Hollypaw wondered if she'd be able to continue on. However, being the determined she-cat she is, the apprentice decided she would try to catch one more thing. She stayed nearby to her other catches this time, then searched the area for one more kill.
Hollypaw felt a rush of relief when she discovered a robin pecking away at some nuts. With a tired air, the she-cat practically flopped into position, creeping stealthily up on the unsuspecting bird. She tensed her muscles, readying to pounce on the animal. After waiting for the right time, Hollypaw leaped at the robin, holding it down with her claws. The bird screeched at her, flailing and suddenly scratching the hunter on her nose. Hollypaw hissed and dug her claws in deeper, then giving the prey a killing bite. The robin screamed again before the light faded from its eyes and it died. The black apprentice wiped at the scratch she'd received with annoyance. First she nearly drowned, now she was wounded by prey? What a day!
Sighing with defeat, Hollypaw decided it was finally time to go home. She collected her rather large sum of prey and trudged back to camp, feeling more tired than ever.
