Tawnypelt -> Rowanstar 𝓹𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓵𝔂 𝓬𝓵𝓸𝓾𝓭𝔂Tawnypelt frowned. "We brought back a decent amount, though I wouldn't call it exactly what we need right now. It may be best to send another patrol out later" she replied. Her tail twitched uncomfortably as her eyes scanned the camp once again, the pine needles still littering the ground. "I was thinking about this tree though. It's obviously not going anywhere, but luckily it's not right in the middle. It's a bit to the side, you know?" The tortoiseshell she-cat padded over to the tree, placing her right paw on its side and scanning the area it took up. "Maybe if we rearrange the dens and such a bit back, this could actually be a decent wall of protection, and even it could be used as a higher ground we can climb if someone were to attack, like badgers or Riverclan"Whitetail -> Heatherpaw, Kestrelpaw, Crowfeather Gustpetal lazy penguin 𝓹𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓵𝔂 𝓬𝓵𝓸𝓾𝓭𝔂Whitetail purred at the apprentice's response. The white she-cat waves her tail, taking the lead and allowing Crowfeather to take rear to watch the young apprentices. The route they'd be taking would cut through Thunderclan territory a bit, but as long as they stuck to the hill areas, they should be fine

The tortoiseshell apprentice felt as if she was left in the dust as the others rushed off ahead of her. Readying her back legs, she leaped from rock to rock, trying her best to keep her balance. As she did this, she counted each rock in her head. One. Two. Three. Four. Ok just two more and I'll be up and in the forest from here. Fi- At this rock, her front right paw slipped underneath her. She desperately grappled back onto the rock with her remaining front paw and back legs. There was no time to waste though. She had to keep moving. Recollecting herself, she continued back up, and felt a sense of relief seeing the rich green forest before her.
Poppypaw wondered where next she should go. Where would be the best place to hunt? She remembered Firestar mentioning their technique would be watched as well, and suddenly she could almost feel the eyes on her back. She didn't know who, but the sense of being watched had her tail lashing and worry right away. Without thinking, she rushed off towards the direction of the lake, where the thicker parts of the forest would be as well.
Stopping in her tracks, Poppypaw took this moment to calm herself and just breathe. Ok, you've got this. Don't think about the others. Just focus on the hunt. Poppypaw scanned the area with her pale amber eyes, opening her mouth just slightly to scent the air. The scent of mouse hit her. It's something... but is that enough? All the others will likely bring back something much bigger. Should I forget it? But what if the warriors think I'm giving it up. Errrgh if this wasn't a competition of course I'd catch this for the clan... but-
Poppypaw's thoughts were broken by the rustle of leaves in the trees above her. Another reminder she was being watched. It was at this moment Poppypaw realized what her biggest obstacle was: her worries. This was a competition to show her skill. All she could do was her own personal best. Her amber eyes glittered with this thought, and the forest seemed to grow quiet as she opened her mouth one more time to scent the air. The mouse was still there.
Lowering her haunches, she stayed low while scanning the ground first and foremost. She finally noticed the small brown shape scavenging in the ground. She narrowed her eyes, the worries and sounds beginning to come back. No, stop it. Just think about yourself. She leaped forward.
Ouch...
She landed with a thud, she had been just a bit short. Spitting out the dirt in her mouth she gathered her bearings and felt her ears growing hot with embarrassment. No. There's still time. Keep going! The voice rang through her head and she felt that passion to continue forward and try again. She scented the air one more time. Squirrel!
This one would be a challenge though. The squirrel was in a tree, but seemed to be distracted by the acorn it was nibbling on. She'd have to climb very quietly, and keep her scent hidden. She lifted her tail to see the direction of the wind, and made her way to the tree accordingly, keeping out of sight. Her paws carried up the tree with one strong movement as she launched with her strong back legs. The squirrel, its back still turned to her, had not heard. Lowering her haunches, Poppypaw made one last assurance to herself before leaping.
She felt the prey beneath her paws, and immediately felt the excitement. But it wasn't done yet. She reared her head down to nip the squirrel's throat, killing it. She looked at the prey, smiling brightly. She had done it, and it wasn't a bad looking squirrel either. The pride in Poppypaw's just filled her very being, and she picked up the squirrel triumphantly, almost showing those watching that she had succeeded

Squirrelflight lets out a small sigh. "I suppose we should see what you could do." She had a feeling she would regret this. However, Jaypaw ought to be allowed to have some fun.

Squirrelflight lets out a small sigh. "I suppose we should see what you could do." She had a feeling she would regret this. However, Jaypaw ought to be allowed to have some fun. Jaypaw wanted to jump high into the air, but restrained himself. The gray tabby followed Poppypaw's scent to her location, hoping to find a shrew there or a mouse. He went over to a nearby patch of leaves, and quietly listened. Jaypaw heard a small squeak from ahead of him. From what he could gather from his sense of smell, the mouse did not seem to notice him. Jaypaw immediately dropped into a hunter's crouch. The mouse was washing its face with a tiny paw, but it last saw a gray paw pin it down. Jaypaw jumped onto the mouse, quickly killing it with a bite to the neck. The gray tabby felt adrenaline surge through him, proud he killed a piece of prey on his own. He picked up the mouse, dropped it at Firestar's paws, then went to catch more prey.

Jaypaw went to a different hunting spot. This time, the gray tabby picked up the scent of vole. Jaypaw noticed that the scent was a little stale. He tracked it to a bush on the edge of ThunderClan territory. He spotted a matted furred looking vole hop out of the bush. Jaypaw managed to catch it by surprise, and brought his kill back to his growing pile of fresh kill.

(Yup!) Minnowpaw's eyes wavered as she saw the familiar mottled gray pelt of her brother, Pebblepaw. She felt a sense of relief seeing him, as the worry for Dawnflower was at least something he could relate to her on. The dappled gray and white she-cat approached Pebblepaw with a soft smile. "H-Hey. How was patrol this morning? You got up pretty early and I didn't appreciate it getting woken up by your lumbering badger paws" she purred, a teasing tone to her voice.

Pebblepaw twitches his whiskers in amusement. "I tried to be quiet. Besides, I'm not the one that snores." He teased a glint of mischief in his eyes. "The patrol was good. I believe we scented a passing loner and a fox."

Minnowpaw nudged Pebblepaw playfully at his response before nodding. "Sounds eventful!" she purred. Just out of the corner of her eye she could see the medicine cat den, and the pale gray color of Dawnflower's fur. Her face faltered and she looked down.

Pebblepaw notices Dawnflower and flicked his ear. "I hope she gets better." He said his voice soft. Pebblepaw knew Minnowpaw's relationship with their mother was strained right now. "She will forgive you when she is well."

Heatherpaw fell into step behind Whitetail as her mother led their procession out of the camp and into the open moor. The wind picked up considerably as soon as they left camp, ruffling the light brown tabby's fur, and buffeting her ears. She lowered her head, and narrowed her ears and eyes against the sudden gust. Eventually it abated, and the apprentice turned to look at her surroundings. The moor sloped away from her and the rest of her patrol, falling away to reveal a glittering, blue lake. From the water arose an island crowned with great, big trees, and connected to the edge of what must have been RiverClan's territory by a fallen tree trunk. She turned to look at the forest ahead of them, where both ThunderClan and the Moonpool lay in wait.
"I wonder what ThunderClan cats are like," she said conversationally, turning to gauge the other apprentices' responses. "Have you seen any yet?"

Breezepaw grinned triumphantly at Heatherpaw's question. "I actually chased off some Thunderclan cats from our border. They ran off with their tails between their legs". His chest fur puffed out as his tail waved in the air, the cool breeze of the moor hitting it and filling him with pride.
"You sure they didn't run cause they couldn't stop laughing at you?" muttered Harepaw, rolling his eyes at his fellow apprentice's response. He didn't hate Breezepaw, but the black apprentice could really get on his nerves. Yeah, he himself was competitive too, but Breezepaw took it to a whole other level.

Minnowpaw's amber eyes flashed with gratitude. "Thanks Pebblepaw" she purred. She scanned the area, noting that Mothwing and Willowpaw were out, probably searching for herbs. She sighed and turned back to Pebblepaw. "Hey, have you seen Willowpaw? I wanted to ask her if she had any luck finding the herbs to help Dawnflower"

heatherpaw - windclan moor - harepaw, breezepaw (Kana)
Heatherpaw's eyes widened. "Really?" she chirped. She tried to picture the black-furred tom staring down a patrol of ThunderClan cats unflinchingly. She certainly didn't doubt that Breezepaw was the sort of cat to do something like that. Whether or not the ThunderClan cats would actually turn tail and run, though, that was another question ...
The she-cat tensed at her brother's retort, her ears flattening against her skull. She hoped that the black tom would just ignore him, but Heatherpaw had lived with him long enough to know that he probably wasn't going to do that.

mothwing - riverclan camp - riverclan cats, willowpaw
Mothwing stepped out into the sunlight, its rays highlighting her golden pelt. She surveyed the cats within the clearing, and before she could second guess herself, she opened her mouth to speak. "Those of you who haven't already been assigned to a patrol, please gather around!"
She waited as a myriad of curious eyes and dappled pelts congregated before her. Finally, once she was satisfied she had attracted enough attention, she spoke again. "Willowpaw and I need help gathering some more catmint, and we need all the extra paws we can get. Catmint is a purple-flowering plant with jagged leaves, and a sweet scent. I'll be heading in the direction of the lake shore to look for some myself, so if you manage to find any, come and fetch me. I want you all to split up so we can cover the most ground, but apprentices should partner up with another cat." She deliberately left out the fact that they had no catmint left in their stores whatsoever, not wanting to cause a panic in the clan.

mothwing - riverclan stream - riverclan cats, willowpaw (𝓹𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓵𝔂 𝓬𝓵𝓸𝓾𝓭𝔂 )
The assembled RiverClan cats began to speak among themselves after Mothwing explained the nature of their task. Some of them turned to leave the camp in search of the elusive catmint, in groups and by themselves. Mothwing stood to follow them, and beckoned Willowpaw with a flick of her tail. She slipped out of the camp, and began walking towards the stream that ran beside it. "I'm not sure if there's any catmint left to find in our territory," she confessed once they were out of earshot of the other cats. "I hope I'll get proven wrong."

Battle moves? The tom's head shot straight up, his mentor's words having jolted him out of an idle daydream. His stomach curdled at the very thought of claws and fangs lunging toward him, even if it was just pretend. Flamepaw had never had the resolve for the life of a warrior, and he thanked StarClan every day for the opportunity to avoid having to fight other cats. He didn't want to let on his reluctance to Littlecloud, however, who he always feared might change his mind and take on another apprentice, so he turned to the white and black tom, and with all the enthusiasm he could muster, he mewed, "O-okay, Littlecloud!"
He still managed to stutter.
