Echoflame sat neatly beside her sister and curled her tail around her paws, "I've been okay. I think prey is running decent but I haven't really had a chance to get out lately. A lot of the clan sometimes forget that I exist." She admitted with a sigh. "I haven't seen Toadstar much lately either. He always seems to have something else going on." She sighed quietly and glanced away from her sister. She knew that Daisyfoot and Toadstar didn't know how lesser she felt compared to them, how completely invisible she seemed to be when it came to the rest of the clan.

Part of him couldn't help feeling a touch of remorse over how very much he had been relying on his deputies, with his illness there was very little he had been able to do beyond giving a few apprentices mentors and the like. "Thank you, Morning-gaze. Creeksong and Foxpaw are a wise choice, the apprentice could use a chance to learn more of the mountain area." he purred in something of a cheery manner at the thought, coming to realize this would be the first time many of the apprentices will have ever lived within new-leafs camp. Toadstar paused, however, as the apprentices were brought back up, almost seeming as if he had momentarily forgotten even mentioning it. Nevertheless, he promptly shook his head as if banishing his momentary confusion. "Right, right. As you know... Hazelpaw, Pebblepaw, and Claypaw, my children have been announced as apprentices -- And Both Midnightpaw and Twilightpaw have since lost their mentoring group. I meant to choose the group that would be training them earlier but... I was distracted for a time." He wouldn't admit part of his hesitation had to do with difficulty choosing the warriors he knew to be free as well as capable. "I'd like you to inform Raincliff, Waterleaf, Daisyfoot and.... Honeywhisker that they will be the group to train our current initiate apprentices. Of course, you may request Firestorm's assistance." there was some hesitation in mentioning Honeywhisker, though it wasn't out of any form of malice. However, anyone who knew the bright ginger cat knew his age and personality, well, it was something a tad desperate to bring him in. However, he believed the youth could handle the job among a group of other experienced warriors, and he was a fairly talented tracker. The she-cat listened closely to the leaders words and again took a mental note of who would be mentoring who. She would need to tell Firestorm as well in case she forgot. At the mention of Honeywhiskers name she was a bit shocked, unexpected but the tom wasn't untalented or useless the opposite in fact. He was just a little, high strung. " Honeywhisker huh? Boy is he going to be excited." She purred in amusement, "I'm sure he will help them transition easily, it will be nice to have a cat as hype as they are." Morning-gaze laughed a bit, "I will be sure to inform everyone of the changes in mentorship.. But I must ask, how are things. You have been sick for a while now and it is unlike you to being so absent." The deputy though young was not dumb, which was how she had gotten to be first deputy so quickly. She knew something was up, and the leader had yet to share any information with her on the matter.

Toadstar couldn't help but feel pleased to see Morning-gaze taking her duties as seriously as ever. Between her and Firestorm, he was certain both topics would be dealt with accordingly regardless of his own well-being. Even brief meetings seemed to be draining these days, er, well on days he could even make it that far. Nevertheless such negative thoughts were pushed from his mind for the time being. A chuckle escaped him at the deputy's reaction, perhaps expecting something of that nature to some degree. "I fear we wont hear the end of it once the news reaches his ears." he agreed in amusement, knowing the newly appointed warrior's... enthusiasm well. "But I believe you're right, It may be beneficial to have such an enthusiastic warrior to help them along. I only hope Hazelpaw doesn't give him any trouble, she is a spirited youth." He could easily imagine her mouthing off based on the ginger's youth and though he loved all his children equally, he feared Hazelpaw's attitude got away with her a little more than he would have liked. Even so, that was one more situation dealt with and only time would tell how well his choice would work out in the long run. He was confident the other three would do well enough to make up for any difficulties the younger warrior might find, his very own sister would be acting as the mentoring runner. However, Morning-gaze's question put him rather on the spot, the tom furrowing his brow in a complicated expression as if considering his answer with a deep level of care. It had been some time, and though he had kept the loss of lives from all but the medicine cat himself, he felt troubled and knew the questions would only grow if it carried on like this. He only had three lives left now and still no cure had been discovered. The mere thought brought a dull ache back to his weary body. Perhaps with so few lives left and his own concerns of his final end looming... it may have been about time to tell at least the deputy. He couldn't help but notice his two sisters some distance away, the ache growing in his chest with the knowledge he could not yet bare to bring the news to them as well. "Perhaps it is time I share the news of my illness, but this is knowledge you are not to share with a single soul. Come with me." He stated, a grim tone to his usually more relaxed voice as he gestured to the entrance of his den, inviting his deputy inside for a far more private discussion. inky

(( Falconwing @stormpetal Since you guys probably missed the update, I'm reposting it for you. Wildfire and Bear are still in the newleaf camp, Hazelpaw just left. The recent posts aren't too far back so it shouldnt be too hard to catch up there. Hazelpaw gave Riverlight and Honeywhisker a lot of lip. Toadstar and Morning-gaze are soon to be discussing the move to the newleaf camp for, well, Newleaf as well as initiate mentoring. Honeywhisker discovered the former clan cat, Ivy, in an old fox den in the territory. Mosspelt showed up. And finally Daisyfoot and Echoflame are are chatting. Additionally I've implemented "mini events" in which, well, small events will be occurring. As of now a storm is rolling into the territory.))

Although any cat would be insulted by being ignored when making valid points, even without the experience of the situation, Honeywhisker simply let it slide. After all, it was beginning to feel like everyone had some kind of problem with him today, at least female wise. First Hazelpaw practically clawing his ears off and now this loner acting like he was some piece of crow food, heck even Mosspelt was ignoring him like he was the enemy or something. It was disheartening to the generally cheerful and friendly cat who had up to this point had not thought he was so unlike able, and yet it seemed like everyone he met today had SOMETHING against him. This realization didn't show on his face, however, a cheery smile still plastered on his face, never belying any internal discomfort. "It's funny, you guys look kind of similar." Honeywhisker soon piped up in some attempt to lighten the atmosphere with his positive tone, "It's almost familiar, heck, I know Mosspelt for sure, but somehow I feel like I've seen you before too, Ivy. Isn't that weird?" They all sat in silence for a moment until Honeywhisker finally broke the silence. Ivy let out a purr. "Yeah, that is a bit weird. Isn't it Mosspelt?" Ivy asked, turning to her brother. For now, she would play his little game. Honeywhisker was a fool if he hadn't figured it out yet. After all, the two put together practically screamed siblings. However, Ivy almost admired Honeywhisker in a way. He never let anything bother him, which sort of annoyed Ivy as well.

If Honeywhisker wasn't blind to the tension, he wasn't showing it, his face fixated into a cheerful expression, though somewhat quizzical with the nature of things. Mosspelt seemed uncomfortable, whilst Ivy seemed somehow smug, did these two know eachother? Come to think of it... why would Mosspelt be here? He had no reason to be this far from the camp, and less reason to follow another can member's scent this far. "Wait, do you two know eachother?" the ginger suddenly exclaimed, his paw prickling with a sense of anxiety at the thought Mosspelt could have been making a habit visiting this Ivy. Even so, he couldn't see the tom negatively for that either, he was here chatting with the loner as well. Heck, he hadn't even so much as an idea what he'd do about this situation, other than warn the loner away -- perhaps Honeywhisker hadn't had a plan after all. His eyes seemed far away now, though, focused on the ground as if in deep thought over the situation. He felt like he was missing something, there was something about the two...

]The deputy laughed the leader wasn't wrong, the tom was going to talk everyone's ears off about it. But at least he'd be happy about it. Hearing him mention his children she nodded,"Yeah I've noticed, but I'm sure everything will be just fine, plus it will be a nice challenge for them both." Awaiting his answer to her question worried the she-cat, but she also didn't like being left out of the loop. Especially when it came to clan matters and their leaders health was defiantly important. Morning-gaze heard the serious ton he took on and nodded, she knew something was up. Worry filled her body but she didn't let it show, she need to be strong for the clan and for her leader. He needed her to be the supporting cat who helped his clan run while he recovered. At least she hoped that is what this was going to be. "You have my word." She mewed softly, dipping her head as she slipped into the leaders den. It smelled of him, herbs and the illness. Of course she didn't mind all that much considering there were much more pressing matters. Hopefully this was not life or death, but from Toadstar's words it sounded as if it was going to be. The young deputy couldn't help but wonder if he would tell Firestorm this or if he was to keep it a secret. He had said not a soul, so she wouldn't say anything unless told other wise.

This would not be an easy discussion, that much was certain, though perhaps not for the reason of his own well-being. He worried for the others; the clan, his sisters, his children. Perhaps it was his family that brought him the most concern. If the worst were to come, Toadstar wondered if they'd be alright without him. Shaking away his thoughts for the time being, he waited for Morning-gaze to enter the den, though his eyes strayed towards his his sisters once more, briefly glancing of Pebblepaw before he too entered his den, his expression serious but somehow weary. "As you pointed out, I've been ill for a long time now." he soon stated as if to begin the discussion as he took a seat in his common place within the den. "Mistythroat has worked tirelessly to cure me, however, so far the attempts have been in vain. However, beyond him, I have not spoken of the true extend of my illness but it is time you knew the truth." He sighed deeply, not knowing just how the deputy would respond to finding out it just might not be that long before she were to take his place with a light grunt of discomfort. "Since growing ill, I have lost many lives. Only three remain before I join starclan." inky

Suddenly, Mosspelt collapsed. He couldn't handle all the tension, it was too much for him.

Claypaw sighed and flopped onto his side in the apprentice den. He wasn't sure if he should really be going outside the camp much without another cat, since he was only seven moons, especially during a storm. But he was getting restless and wasn't even sure where his siblings were. And what if Hazelpaw was out in the storm? There, he had it, his excuse. If he didn't know where his sister was, he could just blame her if a warrior got mad at him for leaving. Nothing could go wrong with this plan, of course. Without giving it anymore thought, he sat up and walked out of the den, sticking close to the side of the camp until he reached the exit and slid out quietly. The rain was mostly just a drizzle now, but it would pick up quickly, so he had to get back before it started to flood at all. But the freedom of being outside the camp without another cat on his tail! It was like a breath of misty air inside a lonely cave. (Ha ha... isn't he such a great sibling? *sarcasm*)

Honeywhisker's fur immediately stood on end, fluffing up in what might have been a comical display of white and ginger fur if it weren't for the fact another warrior just passed out. "M-Mosspelt...!" he exclaimed, half tripping his paws to reach the unconscious cat's side. He prodded the older warrior with his paw, though he wasn't sure he expected anything, anxiety prickling through his entire body in some form of panic. The ginger was no medicine cat after all, so he had no idea if something was wrong or otherwise and he grew only more panicked knowing he wasn't physically built for carrying a cat of Mosspelt's size alone. What was he going to do..? He could run to get help but that meant leaving a clanmate with a stranger as well as exposing Ivy to cats that may be less willing to just let her go. He may not have known her well himself but... it seemed cruel to just put her in danger like that. Toadstar was silent as he let the she-cat process his words, knowing well it wouldn't be easy on her. Becoming the leader at such a young age, it was something frightening even if one had been acting as the leader for so much time. Sure there was a chance Mistythroat could fine a cure and save his life, but the leader felt that hope sinking away as time went on. However as she began speaking, he offered a light nod of confirmation before speaking himself, "Mistythroat has not yet given up, he remains as dutiful as ever and continues trying new combinations of herbs. Nothing has yet been successful." It was comforting in some way, knowing how hard the medicine cat had been working. Even if he were to pass away, he'd do so knowing his clan would be in good hands with Morning-gaze to lead and Mistythroat to heal. "But if my death proves to be an inevitability.. I feel it's best to prepare you for the possibility ahead of time. However I don't wish to see the clan panic.. if things could go on as they always have, I'll be satisfied." He paused, as if considering something as he laid his thin body into his nest more comfortably, the aches and discomfort soon returning from their short absence. "However, I know that if the worst is realized, you'll make this clan proud and you wont go at it alone." there was a kindness to his voice, a comforting softness.

Daisyfoot ; accompanied by Echoflame .. {{ TigerLily }} {{ warrior's den, camp }}
Settling her gaze on Echoflame, Daisyfoot peered at her carefully before positioning herself comfortably to keep an eye on her younger sibling. It wasn't that she wanted to stare at Echoflame the entire time, it was that she wanted to engage in conversation with her. When the silver furred feline brought up the clan believing that they forget she exists, the runner grew eager. "What do you mean by them forgetting that you exist?" she inquired.
She had completely forgotten the hunter's response to how the prey was running, but that was the least of her concerns. Something about Echoflame's demeanor bothered her though it was hard to explain. Was she self-conscious of how the clan saw her? Did she think they saw Toadstar and Daisyfoot different from herself? Tail flicking softly, she blinked her amber eyes softly at Echoflame.
"It seems so, yes. I haven't interacted with him lately and I'm afraid that being leader of our clan may be taking a toll on him. I'm not sure if it's good or bad," she disclosed. "Maybe he's just busy with his duties. Being leader is a difficult task after all. He's got many cats to keep an eye on while working with the deputies."
The sound of heavy rainfall and thunder roared in the ginger and white tabby's ears as she immediately jumped to her paws. "Do you want to continue our conversation in the warrior's den, Echoflame?"

Left to her own devices since returning to camp, having a meal and all, Shadowtooth had soon noticed a startling number of warriors and apprentice's were simply... absent. Though the camp was sheltered between the trees and old two-leg lodgings, she could hear the storm approaching from the east with all it's rumbles and roars. Perhaps in her concern, she'd searched the camp to assure everyone was here, but worry gripped her heart for those she knew were gone. Despite her outward coldness, perhaps Shadowtooth cared more than she liked to admit about those that resided within the clan. Figuring the weather was not yet too fierce on this end, she decided that it wouldn't hurt to take a quick look around for the others. If someone was hurt or unaware, it would be nice to make sure they made it home in one piece. The black she-cat hurriedly rushed out of camp with that decision, and though the dark clouds loomed ahead, her attention was on finding the scents of her missing clan mates.

(Just out of curiosity, where is hazelpaw?)
Claypaw’s fur puffed and his ears went flat against his head when the roars of the thunder grew louder and the rain, heavier. He should probably go back to the camp, but... he took a step forward, letting his adventures and braver side take over. Besides, his sibling could still be out here. “Hazelpaw!” No response. The rain soaked through his pelt making him even colder. “Hazelpaw!”

Toadstar's eyes softened, perhaps a twinge of sympathy for the deputy reaching his eyes. After all, he knew the news would be a blow to any cat, let alone one in Morning-gaze's position. Even so, he knew her to be a strong and reliable cat and had no doubts that were the worst to occur, she'd be more than capable. A light nod acted as his response to the comment about the Medicine Cat, Mistythroat had always been very diligent -- at worst the leader couldn't help but worry about him pushing himself, but there was no stopping that cat when he had a task set before him. He couldn't help but find some comfort in the young deputy's words, however, knowing well that she would do everything in her power to meet the demands put before her. As long as he had known her, growing up along side her, he'd always known her to be that way. Maybe that was why of all the cats in the clan, even those older and 'more experienced', he had chosen her. "Then I leave everything to you, Morning-gaze. At least until I'm well enough to return to my duties." He responded, putting a cheerful little twist to the end as if humoring the hope of surviving this. Nudging his nose toward the exit, he signaled that the deputy was free to leave now, after all, she had things to do and weariness had struck him all too soon.
