Update: Justin called again. I passed the phone onto my mom. I don't know what his goal was, he went on a bunch of monologues about things that didn't make sense. He brought up a lot about John wanting to be in my baby's life, and my mom's response was the same. If he really cares, then step up, be a man, and talk to me about the situation himself. He claims my parents scared him, and he should be afraid tbh, but if he actually cared then he'd ditch the fear and man up. I am going for adoption regardless what he wants, he doesn't have the right in my eyes to make demands of me when he's so unfit to be a father anyways, so if he does try to talk to me (unlikely) then I'll just tell him the reasons I'm doing adoption. But now I'm stressing about him possibly yanking things away and creating more trouble -.-

anyway i wanted to ask what working at lifeway is like and what kind of stuff they sell. i know they don't carry charismatic but other than that? there's rumor that one will be coming to my area within the next couple of years and i'm gonna apply if they do bc i LOVED working for a christian company. (i've also been buttering up our customers up, "where are we gonna get our christian stuff from now???" "there's rumor that a lifeway could come around here, so keep your ear out for that!!" lol) I've had customers ask 'when we're closing'... I was like, "Uh, 9 o'clock." Lol. People are always mistaking Family Christian for LifeWay and vice versa - they really are that similar. I've had people hand me Family Christian coupons at the register because they look exactly like our coupons! I believe we carry a lot of the same products, though LifeWay is distinct in that it has its own line of Bible Studies - probably what we're most known for (and especially what keeps us alive and well in the church). The SBC (Southern Baptist Convention), which owns LifeWay, has a strict criterial process, which serves to rule out any books or gifts that are deemed heretical in nature -- i.e., no prosperity gospel writers, no "The Shack," no 'true stories' about going to Heaven and back. That's not to say we carry exclusively doctrinally Baptist products... several denominations shop with us. I suppose it would depend on how you define 'charismatic', as we do have many Pentecostal, Apostolic, etc. churches registered in our system, even though we don't carry any books that teach distinctly Pentecostal doctrine. I couldn't recommend it enough, as a place of work. I just love it. rip me

i've be productive today, in a shocking turn of events. it's nice to finally get this stuff out of the way.
i finally set a dentist appointment, after nearly two months of meaning to do so. The problem was that I kept forgetting, and I'd only remember after they'd be closed. it's at 7:30am next Wed (ugh) but it will be good to finally get this done. we're pretty certain that they'll remove the baby tooth and use braces or something to move the adult tooth forward, but I want to wait to pull it until after prom/graduation so that I won't have a big hole in my smile for those dates. i'm gonna talk to him about braces/invisalign too. my bottom teeth could use them. :/
i also kept meaning to take one friend out for lunch and another out for ice cream (i promised awhile ago) and now have one set up and waiting to hear back about good times for the other. i don't think the latter took me seriously when i promised lol now she's surprised.
i texted my sister-in-law, and this friday i will be heading over to their house so i can use her sewing machine!! she's honestly like the best SIL a girl could dream for. i feel kinda bad for using it, since it's brand new (a christmas gift) and i sorta invited myself over. but she's so nice and accommodating. i volunteer for her to put me to work while she's there (since she had a hard time getting stuff done with my nephews around), and i'll brining all my own supplies (needles, thread, everything).
i'm heading over to my bro's tomorrow so we can hang out and play his new Switch. i'm writing an article for the newspaper as a review for the console, and first draft is due by thursday night. so i'm glad i'll be able to get that done on time. plus, it'll be good to see my brother. and i can stop at the hobby lobby by his apartment to pick up the sewing stuff.
on top of all of this, my BFF senses were tingling and i texted my best friend in dallas to ask if she's been doing okay. we meant to call and talk a few weeks back but i forgot and so i asked if she wanted to take a raincheck today. turns out she really needed someone to talk to because she's emotionally stressed (her parents won't let her get back with her BF). she was relieved to have someone to lean on and just talk. and she seemed grateful for my lawyer approach to the situation when i gave her a bit of advice on what to do next.
anyways the moral of this ramble is that shad has actually gotten a lot of things off her shoulders this morning and it feels good to not have to think about getting that all done anymore.

yoooo weird prayer request. idk if it's even something that should be prayed over (?) but i will be.
under the cut like usual because i always feel the need to explain the whole situation:
my senior class at my co-op is only four girls (including me), and we graduate in May. our co-op is associated with the Schoenstatt Movement: basically identical little white Marian shrines dotted around the world, and we have one in our city. our school priest is a Schoenstatt father, and though our co-op isn't on the shrine's grounds (there's no place for us) we are directly affiliated with it. up until now, we were planning to have the graduation ceremony at the shrine itself. however, one of my classmate's mothers (who's in charge of organizing the actual ceremony) is now suggesting we have it at St. Thomas Church instead, which is the location that we hold co-op classes at. her explanation for this suggestion is that we girls might want to graduate from where we've been going to class all these years. however, my mom and i think it's actually a question of distance. St. Thomas is a twenty/thirty minute drive north of the shrine, and most of the co-op families live by the church. the mother in question has never been that big of a catholic, and we're pretty sure she has never been to the shrine.
here's the thing. i doubt any of the graduating seniors care that much about the church. yeah we take classes there, but none of us are nostalgic about the location. tbh St Thomas is kinda bland in terms of looks, nothing about it is particularly pretty or nice. the only appeal is that it's closer to them. my family, on the other hand, lives 30-40 minutes south of the church, so having it as the graduation location has less appeal than at the shrine. the shrine is a beautiful location. it's quiet, and situated on a high hill with a breathtaking panoramic view. it wouldn't be crowded since there's only 4 families to worry about. and most importantly, it's the root of our school. there's a spiritual connection there, a reminder of where our co-op originates from and what's important in life.
mom is being super pessimistic and upset about all of this. she emailed the school president and principle, and they both basically said "yeah we agree with you but you should discuss it with the other parents." she sees this as a sign of them coping out. and she firmly believes that all the other parents will vote to have it as the church because it's closer and the shrine has never been a huge part of their spiritual life.
she's particularly upset because my grandparents are moving into an independent living very close to us, and my mom was believing that my grandfather (who is in poor health and low mobility) would be able to attend since the shrine isn't very far. but if it's at the church he wouldn't be able to go. and he's missed out on so many milestones in his grandchildren's lives already.
anyways...i'm gonna talk to the other girls tomorrow about this. see if they agree with me that having the ceremony at the shrine would be better. like i said, mom is pessimistic and things everyone will want to have it at the church because it's close to them. but i think that aesthetic matters more to the graduates than she thinks and they might side with me on it. even if they don't necessarily agree with the spiritual importance of having it at the shrine, having a beautiful, memorable site for our graduation definitely is. mom says the parents won't care if the graduates want it at the shrine but i think we have more influence in the matter than she thinks. and i think some of the parents might be more receptive than she thinks, too. mom has an issue with making automatic assumptions of people she doesn't know very well. it's just a matter of her framing her case for holding it at the shrine in a way that appeals.
edit: just to clarify, booking the shrine for the ceremony isn't a problem, and neither is money. this is solely about whether we girls are nostalgic and/or distance factors.
idk i get so lawyer-y about stuff like this it's all about how you approach the problem, and what the best way to persuade people is. even if the other parents might not want to have it at the shrine for the some reasons as us (spirituality), we should try to sway them with other reasons.
it's important, because we're the first people to graduate in seven years, and we're likely setting a precedent for the kids in the years after us. it's important that our school remembers that it is a SCHOENSTATT school, not a St. Thomas school (the church is our host, not our patron).

Ok so Assault Girl is now officially pressing charges against my friend. Great. Just when I thought this was over. The police told him that he'll probably be ok, because she has not a scrap of evidence and they can always just polygraph him if necessary, and he's unofficially suspended until the police case is resolved. After that, he tells me, his (very wealthy) parents are going to hire a good attorney and sue Assault Girl for damages. I'm pretty excited for that part. I'm sure it'll be easy enough for the police to polygraph her, figure out that she's lying, and bam, sue away, guys. I'm not quite sure why they haven't done that yet; I suppose they don't think it's necessary, since the accusations are so ridiculous when you factor in all the other stuff she lied about.
Anyway, please keep praying for that sitch.

Also, I think it goes without saying that we should all be praying for London in the aftermath of the terrorist attack.

okie dokie...a few people asked and this is me keeping my promise:
this is from just a few nights ago, and it's probably the closest I've ever gotten to being almost photogenic.
still, i hate how the camera warps my face. :/ it's unavoidable because that's what happens when you convert 3d imagery into a 2d picture, but it always makes my jaw/chin look bigger than it is.
so yeah that's my face enjoy because this probably the only selfie you'll ever see from me
