If you're offering then sure. I can imagine him being very useful to Aevurico.)) "It might be a little lacking. Let's head deeper into the alley. It could be pretty dangerous if any one sees us." Aevurico answered and beckoned the man to follow. The alley branched to the right to a little gap in between two buildings that was more isolated from the street. It was also more well lit aswell.

“Dangerous for who if anyone sees it? The people who witness it or us?” Rusul asked as he followed the man cautiously. Now he was a little but nervous mostly in anticipation he had no idea what it would be. He stopped a few feet from Aevurico when they made it to a deeper part of the alley.

Aevurico looked at him and reassured him, "It's for my own sake." He then pulled of his cloak revealing dark brown hair that had neatly styled out of his eyes. He then took off the shirt he was wearing underneath revealing his bronzed skin and toned muscles. "Apologies if this bothers you but they would be harmed had I not done this. Also you should steel yourself. What you're about to see is something that has made many cower before." He then used his grace. His skin began to pale until it became a porcelain white under which not even his veins could be seen and his eyes both turned Dark Turquoise with Black rings surrounding his irises that had a flame-like pattern that points his pupil. The pupils now turned into slits much like a predator's while the center stayed rounded. The whites of his eyes also faded to black. His hair darkened until it became pitch black and grew until it had just passed his neck. From the top of his head he grew two long white horns that stood straight up and were a foot in length. Black fur had grown from his waist down as well as up his arm until it reached halfway up his bicepts. Not long after two black bat wings grew from between his shoulder blades each measuring twelve feet in length. Likewise a long tail that ended with a barb and also measured twelve feet in length grew from where his spine ended. He now towered over the man at 7'10". "So. Do you now understand why some would fear us?"

Rusul watched hesitantly but his facial expression and reaction was hidden by the scarf. He waited until Aevurico spoke again, standing back with his arms crossed before responding. "Of course it varies people are likely only afraid of the scary graces or the gracelings whose graces are unknown. I can't imagine anyone being afraid of someone who has the grace of incredible singing." He said, his voice level.

Aevurico attempted to study his expression but failed as the man's face was hidden by the scarf. As he heard his voice however it seemed to be completely calm. Either he was unafraid or was great at keeping his cool. Either would be very impressive. He then replied to the man "Indeed you are right about that. However the peasantry rarely make the effort to discover our Grace's. As such these eyes alone are enough to cause them to fear us. Though I imagine those kinds of people are rarer. Most just pay no mind to us."

"You must not show your grace to a lot of people then. It would be hard to hide among the people with two different coloured eyes. So how exactly are gracelings fairing around here?" Rusul asked, wanting to know more about it. He was very surprised about Aevurico's grace and a little worried but forced himself to keep calm. His fear was quickly turning into curiosity though.

Aevurico thought carefully as how to approach the man's question. He supposed it wouldn't hurt to tell him at least part of the truth. "It's true that it's very hard for a Graceling to hide. For that very reason something very interesting happens in this Kingdom. Like I said earlier the type of Grace one has can be extraordinary or more mundane. Imagine what one could do with an army of those with more impressive Graces. Now combine that with an obsessive and paranoid King. It's led to the King gathering all Gracelings in Middluns and forcing them into his service and keeping the most useful in his castle. He also doesn't use the most gentle methods to obtain them. Though it's not like it's all bad for those in the castle. Sure they may be subject to the mockery of some nobles but they are generally well cared for. For some Gracelings it's a better a situation than the one they were in before. But still there are those who harbor great hatred against the King. It's seems as though any day it may all come falling down." As he said the last line a knowing smile flashed across his face for a bit too long.

"So with a grace like yours does the king force you to work for him?" Rusul asked, hearing everything he said. "And how do you feel about the king?" he knew it was a risky question to answer but Aevurico had just shown his grace in an alley so if the graceling wasn't sure they were safe from prying ears and eyes where they were he might not have a problem answering.

Aevurico thought on how to best answer the question. He supposed he had been open enough so far. Why stop now? "I used to be employed by him but... Well let's just say I had a disagreement with him. Things turned a bit sour and now here I am talking to you."

"So you left or escaped from the king. He could be hunting you down, what do you plan to do now then?" Rusul was starting to feel like he was asking a lot of questions but it was better than admitting that he was having a hard time wrapping his head around it quite a bit.

Aevurico felt like it may be a bad idea to tell the man anymore. However being whimsical had worked to his advantage in the past before. Besides even if he was the King's spy he could easily dispose of him or escape in the event the King found out. "Well let's just say that I can take on a small number of pursuers on somewhat reliably. Which is in the event that he even sends any after me. It spark unrest for large groups of soldiers to be roaming the city. He's far more likely to send a small group of assassins after me. Besides I have have powerful allies and a great way to move about the country all while avoiding detection."

"Well I may be an assassin but I only just got here I can assure I'm not working for the king..." Rusul said, sensing his hesitation and caution before speaking. He supposed it was only fair that he started being more open about himself intead of continuously asking more questions.

Aevurico's brow furrowed ever so slightly. "An assassin you say. I suppose that explains your clothing." He said while think about whether or not he should attack the man then and there. Ultimately, he decided not to and his expression quickly smoothed out. "So what brings you to Middluns. Perhaps you have a job? Or just looking for work?"

"My clothing has less to do with my being an assassin I just needed something loose fitting that I can move in." Rusul explained although it felt like he was leaving something out. "I'm mostly just a mercenary although the jobs I get hired for are more along the lines of an assassin since I'm more quiet and stealthy. I've never been hired for an army like a regular mercenary, but I'm here looking for any work I can find."

Aevurico listened to the man's answer and thought on it. He had figured he would need someone to assist with more covert manners in order to get his rebellion some momentum but it was hard to find someone with the skills necessary who also wouldn't be biased. If he had this man's help it would make a successful rebellion that much more possible. He decided to try and cut a deal with the man. "If you need work perhaps you wouldn't mind doing some jobs for me. If you have any special requests I'd be more than willing to fulfill them." By now Aevurico had gotten serious and put on a much more authoritative demeanor.

"What kind of jobs specifically?" Rusul asked. Any job he got offered he wanted to know as much about as possible and even though currently he was in need of work he would still be scrutinous of the kinds of job offers he got. "Would I be paid in gold or some other kind of compensation?" Sometimes he took work in exchange for a place to stay for a while, some food or other goods but naturally he preferred gold.

"For now the jobs would be restricted to infiltration and acquiring information. There would be a few other jobs but you would have to agree to work for me before I tell. Of course I will be providing payment to you. I can give you a place to stay as well provide gold in the amount of three times this city's daily living requirements." Aevurico smiled slightly and said "I can also give you unrestricted access to some of the most well kept secrets in this kingdom. Of course failure to complete your duties or an act of betrayal would result in the termination of our contract and your death. Though working for me you may end up dead anyways. I'm sure you're usef to these kinds of contracts by now though."

It was really all Rusul needed to hear although he was still curious about what kind of side Aevurico was on. "I doubt I'll end up dead either way, alright then I'll work for you. What's the first order of business?" Rusul asked. "And I'll need a place to stay throughout the time I'm working for you, we can sort out payments after each job."

"I do have something in mind but it'll have to wait. First I would like you to accompany me to one of my safe houses so I can discuss why I hired you and give you more information about my plans." Aevurico said and stopped using his grace thus turning back to normal. He then put back on his shirt and cloak. "Oh and by the way, My name is Aevurico Oscuras. What is yours?"

"Rusul Naaji." He responded simply with his name in a soft accent. "Lead the way then." he gestured with his arm out slightly for Aevurico to start heading to wherever the safe house was, glad Aevurico had finally changed back.

Aevurico nodded and quickly began leading him through side streets and alleyways whenever he spotted city guards. After about thirty minutes they reached one of the more dilapidated areas of the city. He picked up the pace and they quickly reached what looked like a dilapidated warehouse. He took out a key that seemed to be unnecessarily complicated and unlocking the single door and closed and locked it after they had stepped in. "This is my home for now. Make yourself comfortable." He said and pointed to a table with some slightly padded chairs.

Rusul followed close behind, not minding the city guards he just figured they might be looking out for Aevurico. Rusul nodded as they entered the warehouse and went over to one of the chairs, sitting down and looking around the room. He pulled his hood off but kept the scarf where it was. "Is there anyone else who stays here?"

Sorry I haven't been on until now.)) "Just my younger brother. Though he often stays at the other safe houses to ensure that they're still undiscovered." Aevurico responded as he walked over to the chair opposite of Rusul. "I assume you want to talk business now?"

“So your brother is aware of all your plans... whatever those might be.” Rusul said. He could tell by the secrecy and the hideouts that Aevurico was planning something big. “Of course, so what are some of the terms of the business and what specifically do you need me to do?”

"What I am going to ask of you now has little risk. I simply wish to have you wander the capital and search for Gracelings and observe them. If they appear to not work for the King or have serious doubts working under him then send them my way." Aevurico answered. "I suppose you also would like to know my plans and my reasons for them?"

I would wait before deciding whether or not to remake the rp. At least until summer rolls around. The forums become much more active then.))
"Very well, I will just tell you outright. What I desire is revolution." Aevurico paused to let his words sink in before continuing "This Kingdom is on the path to ruin. It is liable to tear itself apart at any moment. While the King is by no means incapable he is quite stubborn and prideful. His policies are quite misguided and lack vision."
