Mia laughed a bit. "So you're more liked by girls than by older brothers?" she teased. "Honestly that doesn't surprise me. Even Sophia doesn't like the idea of us hanging out and she's always been more of a troublemaker than me," Mia said, even though she knew very well that Sophia had never done anything bad. She'd occasionally stay out after curfew or choose parties over studying, but she didn't do anything bad. Mia pulled the cigarette out of her mouth and looked at it. She shrugged, realized she didn't care, and put it back in.
"Drake?" Mia echoed. She shook her head. "You mentioned that before. I'm glad I didn't really know him then. I like him how he is," she said. Drake seemed to have gotten his life figured out better than Mason and Mia could only hope that he would continue to be better than his older brother. She turned to look at Mason, studying his face for a few seconds before putting her head back on his shoulder, eyes closed.
"Nah. I have a couple ideas and I'm narrowing it down but I'm not positive yet. Even after you told me I should get one, I still wasn't sure. But I'd be the family disappointment anyway if they found out what I'm doing, so who cares if I get a tattoo, right?" she asked with a laugh. Her family didn't control her life anymore and she enjoyed the feeling of freedom it gave her.
Mia shrugged. "I was gonna see where you buy these," she paused and nudged the pack of cigarettes with her foot, "because I thought you had to be 18 and I feel bad that I keep stealing all of yours. Plus sometimes I'm craving one and you're not around," she said with a frown. Of course, she didn't think smoking on her own would be as fun and she'd probably still text Mason pretty darn often. She was actually beginning to like him. Not just what he could offer her.
"But then I realized it didn't matter. My 18th birthday is coming up next week," she began, opening her eyes. "Do you wanna do something for my birthday? Jack usually does something huge but I kinda wanna avoid it this year, especially for such a big birthday. He doesn't have the money to spend so he'll either be cutting back on necessities to give me a birthday or he'll be really upset that he can't. So why don't I just skip that and we do something?" she suggested. Plus, she'd much rather spend time with Mason than her family.
Wow that was a weird thought.
***
Jordan nodded, but decided to keep it as a last resort. She didn't need Drake getting hurt again for her. If anything, she'd likely go to Ethan first and see if he could help with any Kyle problems. After that would likely be Scott. If they both failed and Kyle was unbearable, that's where she'd call Drake in. Not until he was totally better though. She couldn't risk ending him up in the hospital. Mason would never forgive her.
"I know," Jordan said with a laugh. "Besides Kris, obviously, you were the first Westbrook kid I met. And we had so much fun that day," she said, remembering the laser maze that the three had done together. She smiled a bit at the memories of that day.
"Great," Jordan muttered. "So I guess I just have to hope for the best and try not to cause any trouble? Your mom didn't seem to like me either and I want your family at least not dislike me," she said with a shake of her head. Dating Drake would be hard if his family didn't like her.
Jordan laughed. "Great. I can't wait for you to tell them. They'll all be so happy for you. I'm quite the catch," she joked, giving him a smile.
***
"I don't like being wrong either," Chase agreed with a shake of his head. "But sometimes being wrong leads to much better things. Like us. I mean, I think girls and boys can be friends. And other times they develop feelings for each other because they spend so much time together and realize how great the other person really is." That's how he felt about Ash. He'd thought she was a good friend for so long before realizing he was blind and she was so much more than that.
Chase laughed. "Oh, you keep telling yourself that. I think I'm a lot better than you, but why don't we decide to be nice to each other and say we're equally as great?" he suggested, though it was still fun to think of him as being much more amazing, even if he knew he was wrong.
Chase nodded. "Of course. Hopefully you just won't get too busy for me with all your cheerleading and your friends," he teased. He wasn't unpopular, but he knew Ash was much more popular than him. Plus, when he moves back to Calbury, he knew he'd end up back on the bottom and wouldn't have many friends or anything to take up his time. At least that meant he'd be available whenever Ash had time to talk.

Mason thought about it for a moment, and then laughed. "Yeah, I guess you're right. You would think girls would hate me more." He responded, and then rolled his eyes at her comment about Sophia. "Oh please. Sophia's just jealous because she didn't get me, and instead she had to settle for Jace's awkward nerdiness." He told her smugly. It was the only logical explanation because, well, Mason was obviously quite the catch.
"Oh yeah. Drake was a great a few years back. Shoplifting, fighting, drugs, drinking. I never saw him because he was out being a bad kid." It was crazy that Drake had settled down so much, and then Mason had remained quite the same. Stuck in this rut where all he knew was smoking and alcohol. He glanced at her, noticing Mia looking at him, and frowned a bit. "What are you looking at me for?"
"Exactly! You're starting to see the world how I do. It's so much more relaxing, right? When you don't have to live up to other people's expectations?" Of course, Mason wasn't sure what it was like to live up to other people's expectations. His mother didn't remember his name half the time, and the rest of his family was a complete mystery to both Mason and Drake. They had only ever had each other.
Mason frowned. "You're older than me? Wow." He grumbled. His birthday wasn't until June. "That makes you more attractive in a very cougar-ish way." He told her, although he was definitely joking. Adriane had been older than him, too. Mason was a sucker for girls older than him by a few months. "Yeah, I'd love to do something with you. Whatever you want. Just tell me and we can go do it."
--
"I had fun, too." Drake grinned. "And you were the first East Grove kid I met! Well... other than Zero, and Mason and I went to East Grove for a little bit back in elementary school." He explained, laughing at the memory. He remembered absolutely nothing about the school. "We should do more laser mazes."
He frowned. "Of course my mother liked you. She just doesn't usually show it." Drake was blind to his mother's obvious problems, and to anything mean she may have said. The way he saw it, his mother was just like him and both were happy people that loved everyone.
"Oh they will be. And you are a really great catch. Will your friends be happy, too?" Drake asked, hoping that they would like him at least a little bit.
--
Ash thought about it for a moment, and then shook her head. "I don't know if it's worth it. Being wrong really sucks." She said, teasingly. Of course she was teasing. This was something that she was glad she ended up being wrong about. "But I can agree with your statement. I'm friends with plenty of dudes, no strings attached. And definitely no crushing." She said, thinking mainly about Mason and Drake, and now Other Mason.
"I guess we can both be equally great." Ash said with a heavy sigh as if admitting that she was on the same level as Chase was absolutely difficult.
She laughed. "Please, I can always make time for you. Even if I'm talking to you from the top of my cheerleading pyramid." Now that was a funny thought. The truth was, though, that Ash would be incredibly busy once Chase was gone. Would she have time for him? In all honesty, she wasn't sure and that thought scared the heck out of her. She wanted to have time for Chase, but it would be hard.

((Umm.... 100% Drake. XD He will befriend everyone and is generally liked and friends with everyone. So yeah, he'd definitely push to be her friend no matter what. Ash would probably get into a fight with her. She's only nice around Chase... apparently. XD Although I might edit her personality for Season 2 a bit. >.> And then Jace would probably be scared of her and Mason would't be interested if she shot down his advances, which I'm assuming she would. Really quickly. And then Kai would also probably argue with her, and Nyx would just avoid her because she's scary. So.... my characters are a lost cause, other than Drake. XD Although, I'm adding a lovely lady in next Season who wouldn't push to be her friend, but also wouldn't be scared of her or try to fight her. XD))

Mia laughed. "I don't know. Girls just seem to like you. Or figure that, even if you break their heart, it was worth it because they got to spend time with you," she said. She shrugged. "I don't get the appeal," she teased, nudging Mason a bit. She had fun messing with him, especially when it came to girls. She remembered the double date they'd gone on to get Sophia and Jace together and how Mason couldn't keep his eyes off the waitress. It had made Mia upset st the time, but she was almost to the point where she could see the appeal in it.
Mia shook her head and laughed. "I'm surprised Sophia never went after you. I mean, she thinks you're good looking and she's dated plenty of guys that were toned down versions of you. I guess I'm just surprised she ended up going after Jace instead of you. You two are extremely different," she said. It was still a mystery to her that Sophia had never become one of the many girls that had caught Mason's attention. "Was there a reason you never went after her or was it just because she showed no interest in you?"
Mia shook her head. "Wow. So Drake was actually worse than you at one point?" she asked. Old Mia would've hated that Drake. She hadn't liked Mason very much and Drake sounded much worse. Then he asked why she was staring at him. She shrugged, thinking a bit before answering. "It's just weird, I guess. Like I'm sure I wasn't as subtle as I thought, but I used to have a crush on you. I don't anymore, though I do think you're attractive still," she said. Old Mia would never be that bold. "I guess it's just weird to think I used to be afraid to get close to you even though I liked you and now I'm sitting on your couch and hanging out like old pals. I really do enjoy the time we spend together, Mason."
"It is," she agreed. "I was so stressed before. It sucked. I had, like, no fun in my life and honestly I hated the person I used to be. I like this a lot better and once I convince myself that letting my family down won't hurt me, it doesn't feel as bad. I'm a lot happier." It was so unlike Mia, showing just hot much she'd changed since she started hanging out with Mason.
When Mason made the second comment about her being 'attractive in a very cougar-ish way', she leaned over and pinched him, all in the same joking manner that he had. "Yeah. People tend to think I'm younger but my birthday comes pretty early in the year." She thought for a minute about what she wanted to do. "Why don't we just spend the whole day together? Start out here and just kinda hang out and then we can go to the club and earn ourselves a little more cash," she suggested. That had become one of her favorite activities. "I'd offer to buy you a drink for my birthday, but I'm only gonna be 18."
***
"Yeah, Zero and I met in detention and I think he hates Kyle just as much as the rest of my friends, including Kris," she said with a laugh. "You went to East Grove? Weird, we might've known each other if we went to the same elementary school. We could've been friends at one point."
"Are you sure?" Jordan asked. She'd seemed pretty unimpressed by the girl her younger son had chosen to spend his time with. "Well, whatever, I guess you know her better than I do. So Mason's the one I have to work the hardest on?"
Jordan smiled. "I'm sure they will. I'm not going to advertise this around the school because that will just get Kyle even more upset and I don't want him to try and hurt you or anything. But my actual friends will be happy. Ethan, Scott, Hannah... Kris will be extremely excited. Apparently she's been trying to set us up," she said with a laugh.
***
Chase laughed, tightening his grip a bit to pull her closer. After all, who knew when he'd be able to hold her like this again? The thought made him frown, but he forced a smile so he wouldn't ruin the moment. "Oh, so I'm a special guy, huh?" he teased. "Why not use one of your other friends as an example? Like Drake? I mean, plenty of girls are crushing on him so it makes it even better that you're just friends."
"Good. Glad to see you can finally realize that you aren't better than me," he teased. He was glad to see their dynamic hadn't changed much since they admitted their feelings for each other and began dating. He liked joking around and teasing Ash.
Chase smiled. "Well, that's flattering, but I'd have to suggest you don't talk to me from the top of the pyramid. Th last thing we need is you getting distracted and falling down," he pointed out. Or Brittany getting upset and trying to knock Ash down. Would she do something like that? Chase wouldn't put it past her.

Mason gasped. "The appeal? The appeal is quite simple, and I'm sure that you've seen it a million times in movie and books." Yeah, he had his appeal broken down into a science. "I am bad boy that smokes and drinks and hits on girls. Most girls are attracted to that bad boy charm with the mindset 'I can fix him.' So they try, I get what I want, kick them to a curb, and then they're the ones broken, and I'm still the same cool, amazing dude." That was what had happened before. Girls would look into his eyes, say they loved him anyway, that he could be something more... and Mason would break them. Break their spirits and that hope they had.
It was fun, but also sickening to him.
"So am I, and I'm disappointed." He said. Jace was not better looking than him by any means, and he was kind of boring. At Mia's next question, he paused, thinking about. "Well... usually girls come to me, and I go after them. But I don't think I ever really thought about her, even though she is kind of hot." Mason had to admit that, at least. "But I also don't like going after girls that make it difficult. I did that with Adriane. I did that with my last girlfriend, Ellison. I put so much work into getting them to like -- well, not Adriane, but definitely Ellison -- and then they left me. So... now, if I can't get a girl in a night, she's too much work." In all honesty, he was afraid of spending too much time with a girl and getting attached, and then being heartbroken again.
"Yeah! And yet all of you people love him but hate on me." Mason wasn't mad about it or anything... well, maybe a little bit. How come Drake could mess up a million times, but still be loved? And what Mason did wasn't nearly as bad, and yet he was disliked by all. "Yeah, I kind of knew you had a crush on me." He said with a frown, hesitating for a moment before continuing. "I thought about acting on it, but I didn't want to hurt you, or ruin you. But I like being your friend." Mason may have still had some tiny shred of dignity within him. It was just buried very, very low. "And I know I'm attractive. I hear it a lot. Especially the underclassmen when I still went to school."
"I'm glad that you're happier. And your family should be glad, too. Life is too short to waste it always worrying what people think and going to school and not having fun." Although Mason still thought a good job was necessary. "You're definitely a lot more laid-back."
"Ow!" Mason yelped when she pinched him, and then glared at her. "Apparently so." He grumbled. "Anyway, yeah, that all sounds good. Don't worry about the drink, I can get plenty of that stuff." At this point, alcohol was kind of boring to Mason. "It'll be the best day ever."
--
"Probably. I think everyone hates Kyle but Kyle." Drake laughed. "I did, for a really short period. Mason and I were in foster care, and they put us in the same home as Zero! That's where we all met and went to school together. Fun times." He said with a sigh. The foster home had actually kind of sucked.
"Yeah. She only hates people that Mason brings home." He explained, laughing as though it were some huge joke. "Mason is difficult. You can't buy his love with chocolate. Maybe cigarettes, but I doubt that."
Drake was quiet for a moment, thinking over the Kris situation."Was she really?" He asked, and then it all dawned on him. Truth or dare. "Oh my gosh, Kris is a genius..." he murmured, his voice nothing but a hushed whisper as it all became clear to him. Kris was Cupid.
--
Ash nodded her head against his chest. "Yes, you are a very special guy." She agreed, and shrugged at his next question. "I could have used Drake, but you were like my best friend and the first dude that came to mind. And I don't spend a ton of time with Drake. He's mostly Jace's friend." Ash was more or less friends with them because of Jace. "And I had a crush on him years ago."
"Oh please, I'm just saying that to make you feel better. I am amazing." She replied.
"Please," Ash scoffed. "I am a master of not losing my balance on top of the pyramid. No one would even notice that I was on my phone because I would be that smooth and that good at keeping it to myself." She replied. Actually, she probably would fall, but that wasn't important.

Mia nodded as he explained it to her. "I was thinking along those lines. That we could be happy. And maybe I could even help you get your life back together. But I'm glad I didn't. Because we both know it would've ended badly and even if I had managed to somehow fix you, you wouldn't be you," she said with a bit of a sigh. "It's surprising but I actually like you how you are. And now that I've changed, I've really realized that people should be allowed to stay how they are. I mean, I used to think everyone should be like me. And now I don't. I've definitely changed for the better."
His relationships were sad. How many girls had had their hearts broken thinking they could change Mason? Of course, she didn't care about them. She knew for a fact that some had terrorized her back in middle school and the beginning of high school. They, especially, getting their hearts broken didn't affect Mia, even if she didn't like the idea of what he was doing.
Mia laughed. "Don't be disappointed. You have me instead of Sophia and now I'm a lot more fun. She used to be more fun, but now it's me," she pointed out. "Sophia likes the occasional party, but that's really all she does. I don't think you would've liked her when you learned that she isn't as exciting as she seems."
She paused as Mason explained it. "Huh," was all she responded with at first. "I know you probably don't need dating advice from someone that's never actually dated anyone, but maybe you should give it another try. Maybe Adriane and Ellison just weren't right for you," she suggested. She pulled the cigarette out of her mouth, inspecting it for a few moments.
She shrugged. "I've never known bad Drake. I've just known him as this adorable, sweet football player that just loves everyone," she said. "And as long as I've known you, you've been a jerk that smokes and drinks. Being who I was, Drake seemed like a much better person. And I'm sure everyone else thinks along those lines," she said with a shrug. She didn't mean to insult Mason at all and he should know that. She'd definitely become more blunt while she'd been hanging out with Mason but it usually wasn't meant to offend.
Her face turned a bit pink when he said he knew she had a crush on him and she put the cigarette back between her lips. She then smiled a bit at what he said. "Well, thanks for not coming after me. I would've been so easy for you to do whatever you wanted to and I think i would've really struggled with the broken heart. Plus, I like being your friend."
Mia shrugged. "Yeah, but you have to understand my family. They think the most important thing is to work hard when you're young. There's no time to worry about having fun because you need to be doing what's best for your future. Once you do that, though, you'll have no worries. You'll have money and a good job and a happy family. I used to see the appeal in that, but I like your way of life better." She smiled. "Thanks. I like to think I'm a little more likable this way. Not as uptight."
"Best day ever is right," she mumbled in agreement. She was getting tired because being with Mason was really the only time she relaxed. She pulled her feet onto the couch and frowned a bit. "Mason?" she asked.
***
"Some people like Kyle. I think most are afraid of him and the power he has so they just do what he wants, but some people actually like him. I've seen it," she said with a frown, looking disgusted. At his next comment, she raised her eyebrows. "You were in foster care? Mason was in foster care?" she paused. "Zero was in foster care? Huh, well I'm glad you're out now," she said, though she began to wonder about Zero and if he was out.
Jordan nodded slightly, but still planned on avoiding his mom if she could. "Well, I won't buy Mason chocolate. I'd buy him cigarettes, but I'm not old enough. I guess I just gotta try something else," she grumbled. "What does he like?"
Jordan laughed. "Kris is my best friend and I have to admit that she picked out a pretty great guy," she said with a smile. She paused awkwardly before asking, "Can I hug you, Drake? I just don't know how you're feeling and don't want to touch you if you're still sore," she explained.
***
Chase smiled when she agreed that he was a special guy. Only his ex had called him special before and she was just a little too much for Chase. She always wanted to be touching and hugging and kissing and he hadn't been able to do anything without her. He had a feeling Ash would be able to maintain a better relationship.
At least, if he wasn't moving back home.
"That means a lot. I mean, even I'll admit that Drake seems like a cool dude even if I've talked to him only like once," he said with a shrug. He knew Arlo talked to Drake more often since they were teammates, but the two weren't like super close best friends or anything.
"Good, but I still don't want you to try. How could I deal with the guilt if you did fall?" he asked. He was sure that she was smart enough not to be on the phone. "I'll just try not to call you during cheer practice," he suggested.

"I'm glad you didn't, either." Mason responded. He liked who he was, or at least he did most of the time. "I also like who I am, and I like who you are. You're a lot more laid-back and more fun. It's great." Mia was perfect now -- or at least she was to Mason. He wondered how her brother and Sophia would react when they found out what she had been doing all this time, and he realized that it wouldn't be good. She'd have to continue to hide who she was.
"The occasional party? Please. That's so boring. You're only fun if you go to parties every night of the weekend and you get absolutely messed up doing so." Such as Mason did, except that he only did so every other weekend because of Ariana -- something that he had yet to share with Mia. After all, how did you even bring something like that up? The answer was simple. You didn't.
He was quiet for a moment while he thought about it. "If they were't right for me, then I don't know who is." They both had felt so right, so perfect, fitting into his life easily -- Ellison more than Adriane, but still. They had been his version of perfection, and exactly what he had needed in a girlfriend.
Even when Mason had been a football player like Drake, people had disliked him. Maybe it was because he smoked and drank alcohol and shamelessly flirted with everyone, but it was still a bothersome topic to him. Didn't he deserve to have some people that didn't see Drake for the phony that he was? Well, maybe phony was too harsh, but Mason knew that Drake wasn't completely truthful or always that happy.
"But... what's the point? Being young is when you can actually have fun. I understand wanting to have money or something, but you can only have so much fun when you're old." You certainly couldn't go clubbing or hit on girls if you were old, although Mason had seen some older people into the club and do surprisingly well. Regardless, it was much more fun to do that kind of stuff when you were young.
"Yeah?" Mason asked. He pulled the cigarette from his mouth and leaned forward before putting it out in the ashtray. He leaned back after he was done and looked towards Mia, wondering what she wanted.
--
Drake nodded his head at the foster care thing. He didn't want to keep talking about Kyle. "Yeah, our mom lost custody of us for a bit, and that's where we met Zero. He was so cool. It happened again in middle school, too, but just for like a week and we saw Zeze in the same house again." He said happily -- as if foster care was something to be proud of. He was just happy because he had gotten to meet Zero there.
He frowned, thinking about it for a moment. "Girls. Mason likes girls and... I guess that's about it." Drake had never really bothered to find out what his brother liked and didn't like.
"Really? Thanks. I try." Drake beamed, and then smiled at her next question. "Of course. I love hugs." He said with a laugh, not even thinking about the fact that he might be too sore. Hugs were worth it, though, and Drake would never admit if he was in pain.
--
"Yeah, I guess he's kind of cool." Ash agreed, although Drake was a bit much for her. Just a little too overly aggressive with his friendship and his constant need to move. She sighed, realizing how comfortable she was and how this wasn't going to happen again for a long time.
"Well, you do know when cheer practice is. I'll just text you when I'm out and ready to talk or something." She suggested. That way she could be very far away from the other cheerleaders when she got him on the phone. Otherwise, who knew what they might do or say.

Mia smiled. Mason said he liked who she was? That's something she wouldn't have thought was possible before everything happened. She and Mason had been complete opposites. Now she was admitting that he liked who she was while she sat with her head on his shoulder and a cigarette in her mouth.
It didn't seem right, but it felt right.
Mia laughed. "You know I never went to parties. But now I see how much I was missing out on. This whole life styler is so much more fun. I can't imagine spending my nights studying anymore." Her grades had began to drop, something she was still hiding from Jack. Not too low. But they went from As to Bs and the occasional C. It didn't bother her as much as it should. "And if Sophia hadn't dragged me to that party at Ash's house, we might never have started hanging out," she pointed out. Maybe she should thank Sophia for dragging her out when she really didn't want to go out.
"Speaking of parties, are there any good ones coming up this weekend? If not I think we should go out to the club. You know? I love this whole sitting on your couch and talking thing. You're like the only one I can be honest with, but it's still nice to get out." It was the sad truth. Mason was the only one that Mia didn't lie to these days. She'd lie to her teachers. 'I was babysitting my cousin last night, not out partying.' She lied to her family. 'Yeah I was hanging out with Drake. We have a project to do together.' She lied to her parents. 'Everything's going great'. It seemed that these days, Mason was the only one that knew the real Mia.
"You'll know when you meet her," Mia promised. "You think they were perfect, but they clearly weren't. But I promise that you'll meet a girl and know right away that she's the perfect one for you." It's what Mia had been dreaming about since she was a little girl. Even now she hoped for that one day. Until then she'd just continue following Mason on all of his trips to the club where she can meet random guys and have a little fun flirting with them. She'd realized she was surprisingly good at it.
Mia shook her head. "Mason, their idea of fun is very different than ours. What we do... well, my dad would call it immature and barbaric behavior. To him, fun is sitting at home and having a family game night. Or golfing. Or going out on the water in your boat and looking at all the people that don't have a boat. Nobody in my family smokes or parties and they drink, but it's not like you do. So their idea of fun is that stuff that comes in the future," she explained. She'd thought that was fun too, until Mason had exposed her to this.
Mia followed Mason's example and put out her own cigarette. She kept her head off of his shoulder this time and hesitated before asking him the question. She wasn't sure how he'd respond, though she did think he'd be willing to help a friend out. "Can you kiss me?" she asked.
Then she decided she needed to explain. "I've never had a boyfriend or a kiss or anything and I still think it's pretty special. I don't want my first kiss to be with some random creep I meet at the club. You're actually a decent guy and I like you so can you kiss me?" she asked, blushing at the question.

"Huh. Zeze never told me that," Jordan said, but she figured he had his reasons and she wouldn't confront him about it. It did make sense though. He obviously didn't share everything with her. She wanted to change the topic.
"Girls?" Jordan asked with a laugh. "Well, I'm a girl, but I'm your girl now, so I guess that won't help me with Mason," she said, shaking her head. Well, if that was the only thing Mason liked, it wouldn't really help Jordan gain points with him.
"Food. Just tell me if it hurts," Jordan said. She didn't want to hurt Drake, but she did want to hug him, especially now that he confirmed they were dating. She very carefully pushed Mr. Duck over so she'd have room to huge Drake. She made sure not to squeeze him too tight and rested her chin on his shoulder.

"But I'm cooler," Chase mumbled, keeping his voice low because he didn't need to be very loud. Ash's head wasn't far from his and he didn't see the need to be louder than necessary. After all, this was the first and one of the last times that they'd been so close to one another. He was going to miss this.
"Good idea," Chase said. "Ill most likely be at home. I might try out for basketball since I'll have to leave my church league, but I don't think I'll be participating in Calbury High's social scene," he mumbled. He'd told Ash about the everything there that sucked. She knew why he was so against leaving. Not just because of her, but because he didn't want to go back to that life.

((Oh my gosh, this Mason and Mia thing is getting so long. XD))
Mason shook his head. "Studying all the time... what a disappointing, boring life." He used to be like that, years ago. But as he started to fade into what he was now, Mason had started studying less. Somehow, he had still managed to always have A's and B's, even when he never studied. "Well, I guess that's one thing we can than Sophia for, although we can't actually thank her without telling her what's going on." He pointed out.
"Umm..." He hesitated, trying to think of how to politely blow Mia off without offending her, or admitting the truth. "I'm busy with weekend. Can't party, can't club. Sorry. But next weekend I'm free, so we should totally go out and we can party all night. For your birthday." Mason suggested. It wasn't easy to keep Ari a secret, but it was Mason's biggest secret. Imagine what people would say if they knew about her -- definitely nothing good.
Mason snorted. "That's sounds like some fairytale nonsense. I doubt that that's going to happen." It was way too far-fetched. Seeing a girl and knowing that she was perfect, and having that moment... please. Mason was done trying to get girls to stay and date them. He needed to move on with his life, and sadly that meant sleeping around with as many girls as he could possibly manage.
He was quiet while she explained it all to him, thinking but not speaking. "Well I'm sorry but your dad sounds boring." That entire life... wow, Mason would shrivel up and probably die if that was what he had to go through every day. Acting like all of that stuff was fun... please.
He looked at her, one eyebrow raised in a questioning manner. "You're serious, aren't you?" he asked and sighed. "Yeah, sure, why not? I haven't kissed anyone in a while, and you need a little bit of practice before you get to that point with any guys." Mason said.
He wasted no time since he, more or less, wanted to get this kissing thing over with. So Mason leaned over, kissing her gently before he sat back.
--
"Yeah, please don't use yourself to make my brother like you." Drake responded with a frown. "I had another girlfriend that left me for him. It was awkward. Don't be like her and do the same thing... please." He wasn't sure how much of that he could take in his life.
"Alright." He smiled and hugged her back, squeezing her a bit but respecting the fact that she couldn't squeeze him back. This was a little awkward, and maybe a little uncomfortable. Drake wished that he was all healed up because even the gentle hug hurt him a bit, although he said nothing.
--
"Sure you are." Ash said. "Much cooler than me. Obviously." She teased, then simply kissed him. After all, once he was gone, there was going to be no kissing, no cuddling, nothing. Ash was going to get in everything that she could before Chase left and she had to go back to only getting cuddles from Jeffrey.
"Basketball would be nice. It would be a distraction... kind of. You should definitely try out." Ash was thankful that she would have cheerleading to take up most of her time, although it would be painfully obvious that Chase wasn't there with her. "You'll be fine, though. You'll have Arlo to hangout with. And Ella."
