Mia had managed to keep her friendship with Mason quiet. She sometimes brought extra clothes if she knew they were going to the club or if she didn't think she'd have a chance to shower after she smoked or drank with him. She also showered every time she could after she left Mason's and before she got home. Jack and Sophia didn't suspect a thing.
Walking to his place was just another precaution she took. She didn't want anyone that knew her to see her car there and question her about it. Plus, Jack had sold his car, leaving just one between the three of them, so Mia had gotten used to walking. It was a long walk, but that didn't matter.
When she got to the building, she made her way up to his apartment and knocked on the door. She hadn't had the best day, but was looking forward to spending time with Mason. She didn't really complain to him like that first night. Instead she just joined him in whatever it was he was doing and let all her worries melt away. And if they weren't smoking or drinking or out at the club, she'd just hang out with him and chat and let that push all her problems away.
***
Now that Drake's Mom was gone, Jordan was honest. "I just felt really bad that you got beat up because I had to go and hit Kyle," she said with a shrug. "Getting you something made me feel a little better. Plus, I'm hoping Kyle won't bother me now that you taught him a lesson."
Jordan laughed. "Well I'm glad she can enjoy my gift to you too. Send me some pictures sometime of the two of you and Mr. Duck. It'll be adorable," she said. Just the image of Drake and the little girl made Jordan smile. Kids sure could be cute.
Jordan smiled when he confirmed what he said at the hospital. "Great. I was worried you were all drugged up," she said, shaking her head. "Never mind. Anyway. So, uh, are we dating then?" she asked. Her only relationship had been with Kyle and she felt like dating Drake would be very very different.
***
When Ash wrapped her arms around him, Chase put his good arm around her, holding her tightly. "You're right," he said with a small smile. "We made some of my best memories here. It doesn't matter if we were dating at that point."
He sighed a bit. "Yeah, I guess you're right. We can do this. This isn't the end of us. If anything, it'll make us stronger. And if we don't survive it, then maybe we weren't meant to be together. But you better believe I will do anything I can to keep this relationship going," he promised.
He gently rubbed her shoulder with his good hand, lost in his thoughts a little bit as he thought about he new challenges they'd be facing together.

Mason, with cigarette still in his mouth, hopped up when he heard the knocking at the door. He walked over and opened it up, grinning when he saw her. "Hey, long time, no see." He joked and stepped away from the door. Mason knew that she would close it after her, so he just headed back to his couch, stepping carefully over the toys that still littered the floor from Ari's time with him.
He flopped back down on the couch and pulled the cigarette from his mouth, exhaling slowly. "So, what do you want to do today?" Mason asked before placing the cigarette back between his lips. The pack was laying out on the coffee table in front of him, next to his lighter. He figured that Mia would probably take one.
It was amazing to him how not long ago, she had been shy, quiet Mia. Mia that lectured him on smoking and now here she was, doing the exact same thing as Mason. The exact same thing that she had complained about just a few months back when they first started hanging out. Or talking, anyway. They hadn't really started hanging out until she had taken up this smoking thing and everything else Mason did.
--
"Oh please, it's fine. Really." Drake smiled at her, although he wouldn't complain about candy and a giant teddy bear. "I hope he doesn't and if he does, just let me know. I can fight him again and win if I have backup." Yeah... he would bring Mason and... well, not Jace. Jace would cry.
"I'll make sure to do so. Or, you can come over and play with us!" He suggested, although it may have been a strange request. Plus, Mason would probably complain if Jordan came around and hung out with his child.
Drake blinked at her, unsure of how to answer that. "Well... I guess we're dating if you want to be." He replied. "I'd love to be able to date you. Being able to go on dates, kiss you whenever I want... it all sounds marvelous." He sighed dreamily, as if it was something beautiful.
--
"Exactly." Ash was glad that he seemed to feel a little bit better about this situation... maybe. She was still unsure of it herself. "And we might as well have been dating. Can you believe that we couldn't tell that we liked each other?" Ash hadn't had that much fun with anyone else, or even hung out with anyone else that much.
"Don't say things like that. Keep it positive. If you talk about breaking up, you're going to jinx us." Maybe Ash was a tiny bit of a believer of karma and all that jazz. She looked up at Chase, her arms still around him, and glared a little bit. "Only positive things, or else it will happen."

Mia smiled when she saw Mason at the door. "Hey," she said, entering the apartment. At first, it had felt so weird to be in Mason's house. She'd gotten used to it from the toys covering the floor to Drake's bed out in the middle of the open. She shut the door behind her.
When Mason made his way to the couch, Mia followed and took a seat next to him. She tossed her bag of clothes on the coffee table and immediately grabbed the lighter and pack of cigarettes. She pulled one out and lit it, a lot more quickly and confidently than she used to. She heard his question but stayed quiet for a few moments.
"Honestly, I don't care what we do. I'm perfectly happy to sit here and hang out or go to the club or whatever," she said, pulling the cigarette from her mouth. She sighed a bit. "Jack's been asking questions because apparently I came home smelling like smoke and alcohol last time we hung out. I told him I was hanging out with Drake and you just happened to be here as well," she said. She spent most of her time with Mason, but had decided on telling Jack she was with Drake. Her brother liked Drake more than Mason and always seemed to accept that.
She put the cigarette back between her lips and closed her eyes, already feeling more relaxed. "But I've honestly stopped caring if he finds out what I'm doing. It's habit at this point," she said, nudging her bag of clothes with her foot.
Mia had noticed the change in her. The girl that had complained about Mason smoking, even stepping back when he did, was now sitting on his couch with a cigarette between her lips.
It was different, but she liked it.
***
She nodded. "Kyle will definitely come prepared next time if you fight him, so backup would be good. He fights dirty," she said. She'd seen it way too many times. "I'd reccomend not fighting Kyle, but bring a few friends along if you do."
Jordan laughed. "I'd love to come but Mason doesn't like me hanging out with his brother. I'm sure it'd be worse if I was hanging out with his kid. I think I'm great with kids. Do you know Kris's little brother? Yeah, he loves me," she pointed out.
Jordan nodded. "Yeah, that sounds really nice," she said. She was still unsure after Kyle, but Drake was a much better person than Kyle. He'd never hurt her in the way her ex had. She thought about that as she looked at Drake. No, he'd never do that. "Dates, kissing.... it all does sound nice."
***
Chase laughed a little. "We were so blind. Or stubborn. You know, kinda in the 'no way I have feelings for my friend' kind of stubborn?" he asked. "Arlo tells me I'm pretty stubborn. And oblivious," he shrugged. "Either one would explain why I hadn't realized I had feelings for you."
Chase raised an eyebrow. "Is that so?" he asked. "Well, I guess I should only talk about positive things. About how you're the greatest girl I've ever met. And how our relationship will definitley be strong enough to survive my move..."

Mason was impressed with the change that Mia had undertook. It was crazy to him that once upon a time, she had been so sweet and innocent and now... well, now Mason loved every moment spent with Mia. It was fun to be able to enjoy everything with someone else, and he was loving the extra money that they were winning with every pool game. For once, Mason was starting to feel happy.
He laughed. "So, blame it on me. Alright." He really didn't care that much and understood why Mia was hiding it from Jack. If he had the same kind of siblings, he would probably lie and cover up as well. "Why does Jack like Drake more than me? I'm way more fun and less energetic." Drake's energy was fun for a short period of time. Then it was just absolutely exhausting. He knew best of all.
"And you're almost eighteen, and out of high school. You can do whatever the heck you want after that." Mason pointed out. "Are you going to college or what? Or have you not decided?" He wasn't sure where she stood at this point with her plans after graduation.
--
"Oh, don't worry, I'll bring Mason." Drake said. "I'll fight Kyle, and then our big brothers can fight! Mason never loses!" Probably because when Mason did fight, he fought dirty and was never afraid to do so.
"Yeah, I remember seeing him when I met you guys at lunch that one time. Remember? You seemed great with him then." Drake replied. He frowned for a moment, a little bit sad about the idea of her not getting to meet Ariana. "Just give Mason some time. He'll come around."
Drake smiled at her. "So... are we officially dating now? Can I tell the world and my popular friends that I'm dating an East Grove girl?" He asked with a laugh. He knew some of them wouldn't be pleased, but most of them probably wouldn't care. The cheerleaders were a different story, though.
--
Ash sighed before leaning her head against Chase's chest and closing her eyes. "You were oblivious and stubborn. But so was I. Mostly because I got an argument with the English teacher on whether or not girls and guys could be friends without developing romantic feelings, and you were my example... and now my example failed, and the English teacher was right." Well, right for now, anyway.
"Oh please. I am not that great." She said, blushing a bit at his compliment. It was sweet of him, but it just made Ash remember why she was going to miss him so much. "We'll definitely survive. Two years will breeze by like it's nothing, too. Two years is barely anything."

Mia leaned her head on Mason's shoulder, laughing at his words. It was also odd to see how comfortable she'd gotten with Mason. Before, even when she had liked him, she kept her distance. Now she spent more time with him than anyone else and often used him as a pillow like this.
"I would blame it on you, but he would still freak out, thinking that we're actually together. I brought you up around him once and he just refuses to believe that you can be friends with girls. I don't think he really has a problem with you, but more he has a problem with me and you," she said, shaking her head. Jack really needed to relax. Her life improved so much when she started to relax.
"Why's he like Drake more? Well Drake is a good kid and an athlete. You're a high school dropout and Jack says he rarely ever sees you when you're not smoking. See, Jack doesn't have the same idea of fun as we do," she said, shaking her head. "I tried to tell him that you aren't a bad guy, but I don't think he'll ever be comfortable with us being friends. He thinks you're a bad influence." Mia said. Mason might be a bad influence, but she was happier and more relaxed than ever so why did it matter?
Mia nodded. "Yeah. I figured I'd wait till 18 to get my tattoo because it'll be easier that way. College? Well I'm not sure. I guess I'll see what scholarships I can get," she said. She shrugged a bit. "Hey, Mason, you're still 17 right?" she asked.
***
Jordan laughed. She'd pay to say Mason crush Daniel and she didn't think Drake's brother would have much of a problem with it. After all, it was Daniel that did the most damage to Drake. "Well, I'll let you know if Kyle gets out of control."
Jordan nodded. "Oh yeah. That was my first night of living with Kris. After you left, we went home and I filled her in on Kyle and all that stuff." It was still weird to think about how she went from hiding what Kyle did from Drake to letting Drake fight Kyle. She sighed a bit. "I hope so. Stuff will be a lot harder for, uh, us if Mason won't accept me. Any tips on gaining points with him?"
Jordan laughed at Drake's excitement. "Yeah, I guess we are officially dating. And I'd love to let he World know." Except for her classmates. Drake at least had popularity to back him up if anyone had a problem with him dating an Eats Grove girl. She had no backup except Ethan and Hanna's.
***
Chase laughed, his arm still around her. "So I'm a project for you, huh?" he teased before rolling his eyes. "Well, I don't know about you, but I'm glad to see that this example failed. This will be good for me." Arlo sure thought so. He'd been very proud of Chase.
"Oh, you are. Maybe not as great as me, but pretty darn close," Chase teased. Of course, he still had to talk about how amazing he was. It was still a joke and he wanted to have fun and joke around with Ash. It made things for fun.
"Of course. Two years? That's nothing. Especially because we're here to support each other through it," he said. Of course, it'd be hard to support each other. They wouldn't be there to hug and touch and kiss the other if they were having a bad day. They just had to hope seeing each other over video chat would be enough.

Mason slouched down a bit and kicked his legs up on the coffee table in front of him. It was weird to be this comfortable with a girl and yet want nothing more than friendship. He liked it, though, and he had stopped bringing home so many girls because he was almost always with Mia.
He laughed at that. "Yeah, I get that. A lot of guys don't like me. Elita's older brother also gives me dirty looks." Mason explained with a shrug as if it didn't bother him. Some part of him was sick of all the parties and girls, but Mason didn't know who he was without all of that. Without it all, he was boring. "Drake and I used to be alike." He said, although that wasn't the complete truth. They had always been similar, but unalike.
"Tattoo, huh? Have you decided what you're getting?" Mason asked. He frowned at her next question. "For a few more months I'm 17. Why do you ask?"
--
"Please do." Drake responded. He wasn't sure if they actually would do anything, but he could always threaten it if it made Jordan feel better or made her happy. But he really didn't like to fight anymore.
"Wow. It feels like so long ago." Drake commented. He couldn't believe that he liked Jordan as much as he did now. It was crazy to think. "Umm... Mason's difficult. I don't really know what would make him like you better." As it was, Mason barely liked Drake.
"I'm so going to tell all of my friends at school." Drake grinned. They would be happy for him, even if she was from East Grove and he was from Westbrook. His true friends wouldn't care in the least.
--
"Not a project, an example." Ash corrected him, as if it made some sort of difference. "Although either way it failed and yeah, I don't like being wrong, but I'm kind of glad that it failed, too." She admitted.
Ash looked up at him, pretending to be offended. "Me? Not as great as you? How rude and incorrect. I am much more amazing than you." She declared.
"And we'll see each other on breaks. And video chat and text all the time. It'll be like we aren't even apart." Even though Ash knew that no matter what they might try, the absence would be easily felt.

But Kurai, do you have any ideas on how I should set up the cliques and sports/clubs for Season 2? Since some of the characters will be in college, they wouldn't exactly be in cliques.))
