"Oh, I was never rusty," Mia said with a laugh. "We should play a real game sometime. Just the two of us. See who's really the better pool player," she teased. She still did want to play the game, but she was glad to see what she and Mason were walking away with tonight. Much better than she had expected. She thought maybe $20 or $40.
"It was!" Mia said with a laugh, glad to see Mason smiling. Apparently it worked out and he did get to escape whatever problems he was struggling with at the moment. When she led the way out of the club, she let go of Mason's arm and grinned. "So how often do you do that?" she asked. "I definitely wouldn't mind tagging along occasionally."
"Ice cream sounds good. And, yeah, it'd be great if you don't mind splitting the money after buying it," she said, shaking her head a bit. "I'm gonna give my winnings to Jack, but I need to find an excuse. He's gonna be suspicious if I show up with some money so I just need an excuse about where I got it from."
And she actually had enjoyed the night with Mason. The fake trash talk and pool Was fun and he seemed to be in a good mood. Plus, walking away with money was always a bonus.
***
Jordan sat in her car on her phone until she received Drake's reply. She smiled. Great. She'd been a bit worried that Mason would be there. In the case, she wouldn't be excited to go up. His mom? Well hopefully she'd be better than Mason and hopefully Drake didn't tell her that he was in the hospital because he fought Jordan's ex.
She shook her head and drove to the address that Drake had texted her. When she arrived, she made sure to lock her doors before sticking her keys into her pocket. She struggled with the teddy bear and tucked the pack of chocolates under her arm.
She made her way up to their apartment and knocked on the door before taking out her phone and texting Drake. Im here. I got a surprise.... : )
***
Arlo had taken Ella out when Chase told him he'd invited Ash over to tell her about the move. His brother hadn't even made a teasing comment about it. They were all pretty upset that they'd only been able to date for like a day.
The mood had been quite dark in the Callahan household since the boys got out of the hospital. His dad thought there must be bad influences around here. Clearly the boys weren't mature enough to live on their own, and raise their sister, if they were getting into fights. So they'd be sent back to live with their grandma. They needed someone to keep an eye on them, their dad had claimed.
Chase was now sitting on the couch, figuring out how to tell Ash. He wasn't breaking up with her. Well, she might leave single but he really hoped she'd be willing to try the long distance thing. There was a bright orange cast on his right hand, a memory of what had happened on that night. It was all Jake's fault.
When Ash knocked on the door, he got up and went to open it. The normal grin on his face was replaced with a frown and he looked deep in thought.

Mason grinned. "Yeah, sure, any time. I'll totally win. You can't stand a chance against my skills." He was bluffing. Mason wasn't the best pool player, but he also wasn't terrible. He was just good enough to win a ton of cash. Mason hadn't pushed his skills much farther than that.
He shrugged. "Whenever I'm bored and need a little extra cash, I'll come down here and play, so..." he thought about it for a moment. "I guess probably about every other week or so. I need money a lot." He explained with a little bit of a frown. Except for this week, he was usually running low on money.
"Yeah, not a problem. I wish I could help you with some excuse to Jack, but I've got nothing." Mason laughed as they headed back to the car. He unlocked the doors and got in. "Ice cream it is, and then I should probably get back to Drake... maybe." He was probably fine for a while longer.
--
Drake climbed out of bed when he received the text from Jordan, wincing slightly as he did so. He was still sore, and his ribs hurt even if they hadn't been broken, only fractured. "Hey, uh, mom. How long are you hanging around?" He asked as he started towards the door.
"Why? You want the place to yourself with your little girlfriend?" His mother asked, rolling her eyes as she spoke. "Of course. Neither of you ever have time for your mother anymore."
Drake ignored her for the time being and opened the door, a little bit taken aback when he saw the giant teddy bear, but then he started laughing. "What's this for?" He asked, grinning as he stepped back for Jordan to make her way into the apartment, giant bear and all.
--
Ash had been bright and cheery, as she usually was nowadays with Chase, but when he opened the door, her smile fell away instantly and she frowned. She glanced towards the bright orange cast on his hand. Wow, the boys really had messed themselves up punching Jake.
"What's wrong?" She asked, stepping inside while keeping her eyes on Chase. She had never seen him this upset, not even when everything had gone down with Brittany.

"Oh, that's what you think, huh?" Mia asked. She shook her head. "Mason, Mason, Mason... you have to remember that I won't be taking it easy on you next time. What you saw tonight was just acting. You'll hide in fear when you see my real skills," she teased. She was decent and it'd be a fun game to see who could win.
Mia nodded. "Well, I'm always up for coming out. It was actually really fun and I can use as much money as I can take," she said. She didn't say it out loud, but if this became a regular thing, she planned on giving Mason a little bit more of the jackpot than half. Three people were contributing money in her family. She didn't know if Drake had a job or if it was just Mason earning for the two of them.
Mia shook her head. "He didn't question me when I came back from the hospital because I stopped at Ash's house to shower and change clothes. Hopefully he won't question the money if I have a lame excuse. After all, I'm the most well behaved," she said sarcastically. She used to be.
She got into the passenger seat and glanced at Mason. "I'm sure you could text Drake and see how he's doing? If he's fine we can hang out and get our ice cream and maybe even bring him some."
***
Jordan heard some talking on the other side of the door, but couldn't make out any words. When she saw Drake, she smiled. "You're looking good," she said. It was nice to see him up and out of bed. And laughing.
Jordan entered the apartment and smiled at Drake. "Just a little 'get well soon' gift," she said. She placed the bear on the floor, letting it lean against her body. "I also got you these," she said, handing over the chocolates.
She turned to his mom, figuring she might as well make a good impression. "Hi, I'm Jordan. How are you doing?" she asked, sticking out a hand for the woman to shake. She wanted to focus all of her attention on Drake, but one of his family members already hated her. She might as well try to be nice with the others.
***
When Ash entered the house, Chase shut the door behind her. He scratched the back of his neck with his uninjured hand. "Uh, come with me," he mumbled, leading the way into the living room.
When she was sitting down next to him, he frowned, taking a few minutes to figure out how to tell her he was leaving. "Um, so, remember the scary doctor at the hospital? Well, he's friends with my dad. He called him before he let Arlo and I out. Well, my parents discussed it and apparently think we aren't mature enough to live on our own or with our sister. Bad influences out here," he said, clearly not in agreement with his father.
"He's making us move back in with our grandparents," he stated flatly, avoiding. Her gaze.

Mason snorted. "Please, I wasn't at the top of my skills tonight, either. I am a master of pool. One time, I hit the cue ball once and got all of my balls in. In one turn." Which was impossible, or at least highly unlikely, but Mason was just trying to intimidate her. Then maybe she would mess up when they really played.
"Great. I'll invite you every time and we can just become this team that takes all sorts of money from people." Mason was imagining it now. Plenty of money, no longer having to worry about bills, or living paycheck to paycheck... Okay, maybe his imagination was getting a little out of hand, but Mason liked imagining a world where he was living comfortably and not struggling for everything.
"That's what happened to you last night after the hospital? I was wondering when we got back to the apartment and I realized that I had forgotten about you." He admitted. "Umm... sorry, I was kind of preoccupied with Drake." And his mother, who had just been a pain and made everything much more difficult than need be.
Mason shook his head. "No, I'm sure he's fine. Let's go get some ice cream." He said with a smile, and then started up the car and headed towards the nearest ice cream shop.
--
"Thanks." Drake winked at her. "But don't I always look good?" He asked and made finger guns at her, because that was how the Drake rolled.
He closed the door after her and bounced back over to the bear, although he did wince once in pain. Right. Drake needed to walk normally now. "Really? For me?" His silver eyes lit up as he took the chocolate from Jordan and grinned at her brightly, so excited for such nice gifts.
Drake's mother looked at Jordan in distaste and disregarded her hand. "Maria Rivera. I was doing better before my poor Drake got into fight and I had to come help him out and talk with his horrible brother." She stood up, swaying for a moment before steadying herself. "Anyway, Drake wants alone time with you so I guess I'll leave. Don't make any stupid decisions, you two." She lectured as she started towards the door, giving Drake a hug before continuing. "I don't want any more grandchildren. Don't be like your brother."
Drake just laughed at his mother's words. "Of course not. See ya later, mom." He said, smiling brightly as he watched her walk out of the apartment and close the door behind her before Drake looked back at the giant teddy bear, his eyes bright with happiness. "I'm gonna cuddle this every night."
--
Ash followed after Chase, growing more worried as she did so. She sat down next to him, her head tilted a little bit in confusion and thought as she watched him, waiting.
She listened quietly, and realized what he was going to say before he did. Wow, she hated Jake even more now than she had before. And to think, they had just gotten together and were actually happy, and now this. Why did the world have to be so cruel? Actually, not the world, but parents.
Ash was quiet for a moment while she thought it all over. "Well... when are you leaving?" She asked. Although she had always been against the long distance thing, Ash could see the appeal now.

Mia raised an eyebrow at his claim. "Is that so?" she asked, trying to fight a smile. "Well, you should know I've done that multiple times. I'm a champion. Jack, Sophia, and I used to play every night and occasionally we'd even host tournaments at our house," she said. This was all a lie but she figured Mason's claim was a lie too. She'd never done that and doubted he had.
"That sounds great," Mia said. "The club won't know what hit 'em. And we'll both benefit from it," she said. She sighed and looked out the window before turning to him with a smile on her face. "Last time that guy that was coming over and flirting with me was really creepy so I wasn't quite sure what to expect this time but I had a lot of fun." She paused. "Mason, he called me a McGorgeous. Please tell me you don't say stuff like that when you're flirting cause it's not exactly the best way to score points with a girl."
"Don't worry about it. I should've been the least of your concerns with Drake in the hospital and your mom in town," she said with a small shake of her head. She didn't know anything about his mom, but she did decide that Mason wasn't a big fan of the woman. "I hope neither of them are causing too much trouble for you," she said before cracking a smile in order to lighten the mood a bit. "Is it hard to keep Drake in bed all day?" she asked, remembering how the boy never seemed to run low on energy.
She looked out the window as he drove. "I think I'm gonna stick simple. Just chocolate in a waffle cone. Maybe some nerds sprinkled on top. It sounds gross but chocolate ice cream with nerds is amazing."
***
"You do always look good, you dork," Jordan said, adding the last part in response to his finger guns and wink. He was a bit odd, but he made her laugh, even when he was the one that could be soaking up all the pity and sympathy he waned.
She nodded. "Of course they're for you. I like to see my friends happy," she teased. Plus she felt guilty about ending him up in the hospital, but she didn't want to say that with his mom around. She'd apologize after the woman left. If she did leave. Hopefully she left. Jordan didn't want someone breathing down her back when she was hanging out with Drake and trying to see where he wanted their relationship to go.
Jordan simply put her hand in her pocket when Drake's mom refused to shake it. She nodded in response to the woman's words and watched as she left. "Grandchildren?" she asked curiously. "Does Mason have a kid? Or do you have another sibling?" she asked. She'd noticed the toys all over the apartment but hadn't thought much about it. She and Drake would definitely not be giving the woman any more grandchildren, but she was still surprised if Drake confirmed that Mason had a kid. It wouldn't surprise her.
She smiled at his reaction to the teddy bear. "I hope you do. I figured he'd keep you company while you're stuck in here healing," she said with a laugh. "So how have you been doing, Drake?"
***
Chase was scared when Ash was silent. He wasn't sure how she'd react, but wouldn't blame her for any type of reaction. When she asked the question, he frowned. "A few days. As soon as they can get all the transfer stuff done, we'll be flying out to live with them," he replied.
He couldn't believe he was being ripped away from Ash so quickly after they'd started dating. He shook his head, trying to fight back any emotions.
"Look, I've never really done the long distance thing, but I really care about you and like you... Arlo and I already decided we'd do what we can to have our parents move us back out here, but even if I don't, there's only two years left before I can come out here for college..." he began. Two years was a long time.

"A champion of losing, maybe." Mason replied, even though it made no sense. He wasn't sure if she was lying or not about having tournaments, but figured that she was just trying to get under his skin and Mason would not have it. "I used to do tournaments every day of the week and never lost."
"Exactly. We'll have to skip to different clubs so the regulars don't recognize us, but we will rule this town and their pool tables." He declared. It was going to be so much fun, and he couldn't help but think about how much money that they could potentially win. "I'm glad you had fun this time and didn't have creepy dudes hitting on you." Mason responded and then laughed when she said the last part. "McGorgeous? Wow, that's bad. Poor dude had no idea what the heck he was doing. I don't say anything like that when I'm hitting on girls. Don't worry."
"Yeah, I couldn't exactly think about anything else but Drake at the time." He didn't mention his mother because quite frankly, he liked to pretend that she didn't exist. Mason sighed. "They're both horribly difficult to deal with and our mother won't go." He grumbled. Mason knew that she had an apartment to live in, but she seemed obsessed with infringing on Mason's home. "And yeah, Drake hates sitting still. He's feeling a lot better today and insisted on trying to go for his morning run. It took so much convincing to get him to stay home."
"I've never had it, but I'll take your word for it. Anything with chocolate has to be good." Mason agreed. "I just want plain chocolate, too. Nothing special added. Just plain."
--
Drake was still fully focused on the teddy bear. It was amazing. It was bigger than him. It would be his friend for all eternity, and he would name it and love it and it would be the best man at his wedding. "I will call you... Mr. Beary." He decided after a moment, then his eyes lit up. "No! Mr. Duck! Yes, that is a perfect name." He finally decided, nodding his head at his brilliant naming skills.
"Yeah. Mason has a daughter. Her name is Ariana and she's awesome. She's like... two, I think?" Drake explained, then launched himself onto the bear, hugging it tightly. "We have an older sister but we haven't talked to her since I was, like, five and our dad left with her. I can't even remember her name. But she might have kids so yeah, there might be more grandkids but who knows." He said with a laugh, as if the whole situation was nothing but a joke, all while he hugged Mr. Duck the teddy bear.
"I've been doing great." Drake replied as he started dragging the teddy bear across the apartment's living room to his bed. It would stay in bed with him while he laid around and complained. "I wanted to go for a run this morning, but everyone was like 'No, Drake! You gotta rest!'" He rolled his eyes. "People are crazy, am I right?"
--
Ash tried to smile. "Well, I guess we'll just have to spend a ton of time together until then, huh?" She asked. "And we'll just have to fit as much fun in as we can until you leave." Ash didn't want him to leave, or want to break up, so it seemed like the best option to her.
"Two years is a long time... but we can try and make it work. I don't want to break up with you, either." Ash had tried the long distance thing once. It had lasted a week, but her feelings for that guy hadn't been nearly as strong as they were for Chase. "We can make it work until then."

"That makes no sense," Mia said with a laugh. "But if it did make any sense, you would be the champion of losing," she teased. She didn't know if Mason was telling the truth about his tournaments, but she liked to believe he wasn't. That would definitely give him more experience than her. "Whatever. Just know that I'm gonna win. Discussion over."
"That makes sense. I'll still let you take the lead and be the brains on everything. I'll just be there to play badly and get us more and more money," she said. Plus she knew she looked more innocent than Mason and possibly like an easier target. It worked or well. Mia laughed. "Yeah. It was... well it definitely wasn't pretty. I ended up telling him you were my boyfriend but I don't think he believed me until you grabbed me on your way out," she said, shaking her head. "But I'm so glad you know what you're doing more than that poor guy did."
Mia nodded. "Well, I'm glad Drake is feeling better and hopefully your mom will leave soon," she said, shaking her head. She didn't know any of the story, but found herself automatically on Mason's side. "Ugh, how could he think running would be a good idea?" she asked, shaking his head. "Well, hopefully he'll be up and moving soon. He's a good kid."
Mia smiled when they pulled up to the ice cream shop. "You can try a bite of mine if you want. It's like tons of sugar, but tastes really good," she said, getting out of the car.
(When do you want to skip with these two? Let them have their ice cream of before that?)
***
"Mr. Duck?" Jordan asked, raising an eyebrow. "They had giant stuffed ducks and I could've gotten you one but the bears were bigger and softer so I figured you'd like that better," she said. She took a seat on his bed, looking around the apartment. It was a bit sad that Mason and Drake lived here, but she wasn't going to say that to Drake.
"Awww she sounds cute. Do you have a picture?" Jordan asked. She knew a girl from East Grove named Ariana. She was a bit of a jerk, but Jordan figured Mason's innocent little daughter wouldn't be a jerk. "Mason didn't exactly strike me as the father type," she commented with a bit of a shrug. "But it still sounds cute." She didn't comment about their sister. Drake's family didn't seem like the most supportive and put together family and she thought about hers, thankful that her parents were together and loved and cared about her and Emmett.
She laughed at Drake's complaint. "Well, that's annoying but they might have a point. At least a now you can hang out with Mr. Duck instead of going on runs," she pointed out. Running would not be the best for Drake's bones.
***
"Of course we will," Chase said with a forced smile. "You better believe I'm not planning on letting you go without a good date or two," he promised. He really did like Ash and it pained him to leave her behind when he was going somewhere he didn't even want to go.
Chase nodded. "We can call, text, video chat. Maybe when I have a break from school my parents will let us fly out here and visit you," he said with a frown. That would definitely make stuff easier, but he wasn't sure if his parents would want to pay for plane tickets and his grandma didn't like driving such long distances.

((Umm... we could skip with them now? Where are we skipping them to? XD))
--
"Yeah. Because drakes are male ducks, and I want this bear and me to have similar names." Drake explained as he finally got the bear to the bed and tossed it up next to Jordan before he also hopped onto the bed which was now crowded with a stuffed bear, Jordan, and Drake. "I do like this better than any kind of stuffed duck."
"I do!" Drake said. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and clicked through until he found a good one of the little girl smiling, and with her red hair brushed. "He wasn't. Like, at all. But he had to step up to the plate when his girlfriend was pregnant, and he did a good job." He explained, grinning as he thought about Ariana. He absolutely adored his niece and spent as much time as possible with her when he could. She was a sweetheart, and she had pulled Mason back from the brink. He had cleaned himself up a bit after she was born.
He huffed. "As much as I would love to cuddle this bear all the time, I would rather go on my runs." Drake grumbled. "I've gotta stay in shape for track, and football, and soccer, and basketball!"
--
"Just two dates? Please, we are going to go on at least three." Ash joked. She was trying to make the situation feel a little bit better, although it was difficult to do. "Just... don't think about it and enjoy the time that we have together right now, okay?" She said. They needed some good memories before he left.
"Exactly. It'll be like you're not even gone." Texting was a life saver in situations like this. "And if you can't visit, I'm sure I can if that's cool. My dad won't care." Well, her dad would care, but that wasn't for Chase to worry about. She would simply lie to him about where she was going and make Jace cover for her.

(We decided on doing both situations right? So maybe a few days/weeks into the future and they're hanging out at his place? Then after that we can skip to playing pool and they win more money than usual on a really hard game and that's when he kisses her out of excitement?)
***
Jordan laughed at his explanation and the comment about how he liked the bear better than a stuffed duck. "So I did a good job on picking out gifts?" she asked with a laugh. She knew Drake would like the chocolate and figured everyone could use a giant teddy bear.
"Awww, she's cute," Jordan said with a small smile. Huh, maybe Mason wasn't as big of a jerk as she thought. The kid was cute. She did want Mason to accept her since he'd seemed so upset at the hospital, but she figured she couldn't blame him. She'd give him some time to settle down and let Drake heal before she tried talking to Mason again.
Jordan laughed a bit. "Don't worry, Drake. You'll be better soon enough," she promised.
She thought for a moment. "So, when you were in the hospital and said that you liked me. Did you really mean it?" she asked. He seemed as though he was feeling more like himself now and she didn't know what kind of drugs had been pumped into him at the hospital.
***
Chase laughed a bit, his eyes shining at the way she was making a joke about it. "Alright," he said with a small smile. "We'll make these the best few days ever. We'll have plenty of good memories to hold onto," he promised.
Chase nodded. "Of course. We'll be able to keep in touch and it'll be great. And if you come to visit, you can meet my grandparents and I can bring you to some of my favorite places back home...." he said. He didn't like the place due to the memories he had there, but there still were places he enjoyed.

(lurking. also I have Mace open. and Blaze when Season Two happens I'll be introducing two new characters. ((Yeah, that works. XD I'll get up a Mason starter. Mason and Drake roleplaying in the apartment at different times. Crazy. XD Anyway.))
Mason was thrilled to know that Drake was out of the house, probably galavanting about with Jordan. He had healed up fairly well from the injury, and was doing great now.
Which also meant Mason got his apartment back more, such as today. He was relaxing on the couch, smoking a cigarette while he waited for Mia to come over. They had been hanging out a lot, nearly every weekend, and Mason was loving every moment of it.
He glared over at Mr. Duck the large teddy bear that had been thrown back on Drake's bed after Ariana had gone to Adriane's for the week. Ari loved that bear, and her and Drake would play with it for hours.
--
"Of course you did!" Drake fell down on top of the bear, hugging it close for a moment before sitting back up. "And you didn't even have to get me anything. Really."
"Yeah, and she's gonna lose her mind when she sees this bear." Drake added with a grin as he closed out of the pictures and tossed his phone back on the bed. Ari would almost get as much fun out of it as he would.
He stopped, still holding the bear's paw when Jordan asked him that. He blinked at her, considering it for a second. Had he just been hopped up on pain killers, and just babbled nonsense?
No. Definitely not. "Of course I meant it. I really like you, Jordan." He said with a sweet smile.
--
"And we already have plenty of good memories to hold onto." Ash pointed out. She scooted closer to Chase and wrapped her arms around him. "The ice cream cake, the Halloween dance. Even if we weren't dating, they were still great memories." She pointed out.
She smiled at the thought. "Yeah. That would be great. See? We'll make it work. We will be the best at a long distance relationship." Ash was trying to keep it together. In all reality, she almost wanted to cry.
None of this was fair.

I do know that Ariat and I have a little more planned for Chase and Ash drama. Otherwise, everyone else just kind of has a loose drama plan. XD Which will probably be changed since we have all you lovely new people. =3
So... Chase and Arlo are going to move away for a while. Chase and Ash try the long distance thing, but it's hard to find time to talk. At some point, Chase sees a picture of Ash with a guy which looks suspicious but is innocent. Ash counters with seeing a picture of Chase with a girl (who is his crazy ex-girlfriend from middle school). Chase and Ash get into a fight. Both then simply cheat on the other. Probably not much, just kissing or something, but that can be decided more later.
So Ash needs a dude to cheat with, I guess...? XD
Anyway, I don't know if you all have anything planned or stuff you want to happen, but I'd be happy to discuss it. =3))
