RosaJake gave Scarlett a small smile, "If this is too much, I can take you back outside." He assured. "You're safety is of upmost importance." He stated. "This, what I'm doing can wait a few minutes if need be." He reasoned. "So please don't force yourself in a place like this. I'm used to it, I am going to guess that you probably aren't. Most people aren't." He kept still, his breathing continuing at a normal rate. This isn't good...

RosaJake scooted slightly back, seeing her stand it was an indication that she was going to push forward. At the same time pushing herself was not the best of ideas. He bit his lower lip in concern, "Okay..." He nodded speaking softly. "Just please let me know if you reach your last stance-" He rubbed his neck in concern. "I can't have you dying on me- or anything, I shouldn' have you here in the first place." His eyes were in obvious conflict of both for and against the idea. He swallowed turning away, "Alright, let's keep going." He stepped up towards the next upper step, continuing his way upwards.

((*Cough*@Mintedstarfur is there anything to indicate the start of the fire? Or at least a specific place?*COugh*)) (Thanks for the concern, Rose. ) (As for the question, Shining: The fire was started by kerosene or gasoline, your choice as to which. As for specific place, that would be the first floor, master-bedroom of the house, in the corner of the room where that bed used to be (as it's a rented building for the Summer.))

(Percival doesn't get fancy. He goes for classic at best...the evidence is just very lacking. Also, to note, I have plans for the fact that one of the future fires will kill someone. But got to build up a little. Percival has motives and secrets you all don't see or can know yet. Gotta keep some suspense. )

Tripp quickly removed his earbuds and titled his head in confusion. "I'm sorry what? Were you talking to me?" "Uh, no, not really," said Tom. "But you seemed to have noticed the scent of ash, or whatever. There was another fire in town again. Wonder if it's still the same guy." He looked back the way he had come again. Then he turned to look at Tripp and raised an eyebrow. "What this one? Number 12? That's more than two a month." Tom was mildly impressed, even though he knew he shouldn't be.

Misty AuranskyPercival turned to look at the building and frowned, while inwardly, he was shrugging. It wasn't like he was going to complain if people messed up the crimescene. Sadly, it looked odd that the other police officers weren't here right now...so when he turned to look at Rowlin he almost expected to see one of them. But no...they were still far on the other side of town, investigating other fire-sites. Looks like there was a new one to add to the list. "And you are?" he asked the other man, eyes narrowing from curiosity rather than hostility. (Evelin + Tom = chaos, actually.)

Rosa"Somewhat.." He used hand gestures for his response. "I mean, while concerned about my job, I am more concerned about harming someone who shouldn't be here, because I got impatient." He admitted, once up the end of the stairs on the next floor he walked a bit deeper into the hallway. Using his pocket watch he took a look along the walls only to frown in disappointment. "By the looks of this, the fire started below us." He approached the wall, kneeling to run a hand along the wall. "The damage is going upwards indicating that the fire did not come downward, rather it went up. But now that leaves the ground floor and the below level." He pointed his light back towards the stairs. "Going down is the way to go, but checking up here never hurts, I guess..." He considered. mintedstar/fur🦇 MistyRowlin was looking forward to a response, he stood silently eagerly awaiting only to swallow his disapointment when asked for his identity. Ah, so this is what having a closed mind feels like... I was really hoping for a conversation, then name exchanges three hours later... He straightened up, more then he already was to response directly, placing a fist near his mouth to cough briefly. "Right... such formalities are important." With his free hand he pulled out his badge, "My name is Rowlin Willow, Silver Guardian of the Fire Investigators division. My partner and I happened to be in the area, and as habits we responded right away." He stated in a calming manor.

Scarlett was already forging ahead, climbing up and disappearing around the corner once she reached the top of the stairs. She looked around carefully. Then she noticed a window and used the side of her leather clad forearm to wipe away the ash. The view... Her mind filled with the image of someone being stuck inside the building staring out of the ashy window and desiring to get free. She swallowed. Emotions? Emotions weren't for vampires.

The smell was getting pretty strong on the breeze now. His nose wrinkled. "What's going on?" Tom, who'd lived here almost fourteen years, looked shocked. He glanced at his watch, but figured that he'd be early regardless if he brought a complete stranger up to speed or not. "Around the middle of Fall, fires started popping up at random all around town. I...think it was the one in the Johnson's mason first, though the fire-department caught that one soon after it started. The fires are always in abandon or unused building, from someone being away of vacation to a falling down wreck at the edge of town. The police and everyone else still don't have any leads." He tapped his chin as he tried to remember more details from the news or from what he had personally seen. "No one has died yet and it's only in this town, none of the surrounding ones. So basically, the general thought is that it is someone in this town, but motive...it's completely unknown." Tom's words faded to muttering. "Why would someone want to burn down building that no one even owns?" He blinked after a second, before looking up, embarrassed. It seemed he was dumping all this info on someone that he didn't even know. Maybe it was because, apart from his boss, he didn't have anyone to talk to anymore. (Cue sad violin as Tom starts thinking about Eveline again. XP )

"Good to know that there are some extra hands out here," he said, completely disconnecting his words from his actual thoughts. "Most of the other officers under me were unable to respond, as they were on the other side of town." He looked at the badge, before introducing himself. "Percival Regimald, Hunting Police." Not like it was that large of a county, though the town was fairly good-sized.

RosaHe made his way silently after her. Taking a glimpse at their surroundings, the sign of people not being present was very obvious. Which was a relief for now, he couldn't help but approach Scarlett who appeared captivated by something. Slowing his pace nearing the window, he towered over her shoulder taking a glimpse out the window. "That view with flames fuming in the background. It causes the heartrat to pound rapidly, less oxygen is consumed, and thoughts are swirling through us in fragments." He softly shared. "It causes irrationality, even from the calmest of minds." His gaze softened at the thought. "Life's Greatest Question..." He trailed off, then turned walking further along the floor. mintedstar/fur🦇Rowlin raised a brow, "The situation surely couldn't have gotten out of hand to reach such a statement." He replied bluntly surprised. "Truly fires are not common in it's natural form, but still.." He glimpsed back at the structure, "To have everyone elsewhere, that is rather concerning." He shook his head, "On the other hand we can't boast either, when we are blocked physically with traffic, we borrow units from other areas. So we too again aren't in a position to talk any better." he admitted with a sigh. "But a pleasure to make your acquaintance.." he smiled, putting his badge away. Oh boy... I wonder where we stand on terms...

Tripp grunted. "Some people," he muttered. He shook his head in disgust. He pondered the possibilities of motives. "Agreed," said Tom, nodding. "Some of people might just be copy-cats, but it isn't very likely, since they all are living no evidence. But you never know." He paused and looked around again, pondering what that might mean. He wasn't sure and he also didn't think that he wanted to. Getting into the whole business with the fires was just a bad idea. "Want to buy a used car?" he asked, completely at random.

RosaHe continued walking through the building, pointing his flashlight in different corners to see whato was melted, burned or even dropped through the ground. "Right... so by the looks of this, the flames came upwards. We'll need to head back downstairs and look for the cause. It certainly isn't here." He sighed hopping it would have been up there, but the damage, and direction of the overall fire was pointing to either the ground floor, or below ground. He waved, "Let's head down." He turned for the stairs.

RosaJake slowed his pace at the stairs, carefully he made his way down the stairs glimpsing behind him for Scarlett Closely. "We're almost done, I promise." He smiled reassuringly, "I just need to check one more place to just get an idea of this situation." He explained calmly, "But if things again are too much, just let me know, okay?" He returned his full attention to the stairs leading down. His thoughts were processing the scene, at the same time he a tad worried for the young lady accompanying him. It might have been too much... perhaps? Had there been a fatality that perhaps would have been worst...
