James followed after his pet rat, only just managing to keep him in sight. As Slinky took off across the courtyard, James kept a close eye on him, not paying much attention to his surroundings. So when he saw a pair of feet almost step on the brown creature, his mouth opened to cry out, but he caught himself before he could, as the feet danced away. "Oh...I'm sorry." The voice was saying and James looked at the girl who had almost squished his friend. "Yeah, that's Slinky. It's Kita, right?" He asked lightly, eyes weaving away from the rat for a split second. When James' eyes flicked back, he saw empty ground. "Oh, there he goes again. Sorry." James stepped forward as he finally caught sight of the scuttling creature again. "I'd stay and chat, but if I don't keep up with him, I've got no idea what mischief he'll get up to." the gryffindor added honestly.
Kayleigh sighed dramatically, leaning back in her chair as Antares claimed he was unsure whether or not he could save her from boredom. Such a pity. Kayleigh considered boredom a chore, and if there was one thing she hated it was chores. But as he asked what he could do to ease her boredom, she leaned forward again, the small smile still playing on her face, now this could be interesting. "Well. I don't know if you'd be up for it, but there is one thing I always enjoy doing." She said lightly. For the most part, Kayleigh preferred to be alone, not trusting others or their intentions, but Antares was part of her house, the quidditch, and they'd talked before. Besides she was bored, and she'd do almost anything to get rid of it. "It does involve breaking a...few...rules." She added, "You think you're up for it, Santorine?"
Kita blinked as James wheeled to a stop before her carefully. Her eyes glanced over him, recognizing the Gryffindor, though not his name. She was quite terrible when it came to people's name. Creatures she could do just fine, but people, those were different. However, he recognized her and called her by name even. Another blink of surprise and a soft flush across her cheeks as Kita's eyes moved to follow James once again. Turning to watch him hurry after the small rat, Kita felt herself pulled forward a bit and she began to follow him. "W-would you...umm like help?" she inquired as she moved to James' heels now, her eyes flicking to watch Slinky rather carefully as well. Her eyes moved quickly and easily to follow the scuttling little rodent as he moved this way and that way across the cobbled courtyard.
Antares arched a brow curiously to Kayleigh then. He watched her with that lightly tipped head as she started to smile a bit to him. He enjoyed when he saw others smile just by a suggestion of his own. He imitated her posture then, crossing his arms over his sweater and then leaning back into his chair a bit. It wasn't in mockery, but in simple imitation. Then her inquiry came. "Don't know if I'd be up for it?" he huffed lightly as if he'd been offended by her thinking he'd back down from any challenge. A playful spirit always, Antares seemed now intrigued by her coming proposition. "Enlighten me then, what do you think it is I wouldn't be up for then?" he chuckled as he now leaned forward, propping his elbows on the table as he kept his gaze to her silvers.

LiliesoftheDawn - Charlotte Marie Rosier - 16/6th year - Hufflepuff Charlotte has dark brown hair that reaches just past her shoulder. She always neatly styles into soft curls, though when it distracts her or gets in her way she pulls it up in a messy bun. Her skin is pale, but has the slightest tan, and her eyes are blue with flecks of brown. She's on the shorter side, barely hitting five feet, and the petite figure to match. Her face is softer and rounder, with a tiny nose, thin lips, and eyes that would almost disappear into her face if not the strong glare that pulls them right back out. - Charlotte is rather positive, though sheβs got a strong temper and is dead set in her ideals. Sheβs always been the opposite of a pureblood elitist, and went so far as to ask the Sorting Hat for anything but Slytherin. Because sheβs not particularly brave, and only half interested in school work, she gladly joined the ranks of the Hufflepuff house. Sheβs a very talkative and friendly person as well, when youβre not against her. Aspen, twelve inches, unicorn hair - Hyena - A silver feline named Dione, and an owl she shares with her brother. - Charlotteβs father is a pureblood elitist, and her mother is little more than a quiet push-over from an almost forgotten pureblood family. She has a younger brother, Elliot, who sheβs always tried to convince to see her side, but she fears sheβll lose him to her familyβs ancient way. - None - Bisexual, Hufflepuff Chaser.
LiliesoftheDawn - Elliot Levi Rosier - 14/4th year - Slytherin Levi, as he prefers, has dusty blond hair, that in public is always neatly parted to the side and the perfect length to look highly respectable. Of course, if caught unprepared, it is a complete mess of a bed head. His eyes are a turquoise blue with a light brown burst around his pupils. Levi is pretty lanky, though his shoulders are broader than youβd expect from the rest of his build. - Levi seems outgoing, though it is mostly an act to keep up his familyβs face. When heβs tired however, the act drops and he becomes pretty gruff and rather untalkative. He rarely drops details about his own past, preferring to lead other people to tell him about themselves. His personal preference is more on his studies, where heβs always shown get promise. Theyβre less complicated than talking to people, and so far less exhausting for him. Heβs also torn between his sisterβs activism and his familyβs past, and sometimes feels as though he should just run away from it all and live in the woods as a hermit. Hawthorn, ten inches, dragon heartstring - Sea Turtle - Has a Madagascar red owl named Arke he shares with Charlotte - Leviβs father is a pureblood elitist, and her mother is little more than a quiet push-over from an almost forgotten pureblood family. His older sister, Charlotte, did a lot to separate him from the pureblood elitism of their family, but it still affected him more than it did her. - None -
(I hope it's okay that I used a pureblood family name from the books. It's one that doesn't have any important characters, and I can change it if I need to, I just really like how it sounds with their names. I'll also probably make another chacter or two later (at least one of which will be a hufflepuff), but I spent several hours thinking about these two, and I think they're good to go now. Tell me if I need to fix anything and I will!)

"Hey, Lulu!" Charlotte called, rushing slightly down the hall to catch up with her roommate. She'd slept in a little too late that morning, and missed one of the classes the two of them, both year six Hufflepuffs, shared. For all that Charlotte didn't care as much about grades as her brother, she wasn't irresponsible. She knew that when you missed a class, you asked what you'd miss, and if there was any homework, which was why she was trying to catch up with Lulu just now. She hadn't had a chance to ask anyone before then, and though Lulu seemed to be a bit distracted with her bag, now was as good a time as any. "Hey, could I get your notes from the class I missed this morning? I slept in again." Charlotte said as she caught up, slowing her speed to match as she approached.
(I figured they'd be a good starting point, since they at least know each other. I'd also be fine with them already being friends if you'd like, since they are roommates. Also, have a good night's sleep, I'll probably pass out in an hour or two as well.)

{Well a fire is one way to have a meet-cute}
Kenan was happy to keep going on and on, but he stopped when Evalina suddenly sat up straighter and started looking around. He watched her, blinking with slight confusion. Ivy started paying a small amount of attention too, but all she really did to react was glance over her book and raise an eyebrow. "Oh!" Kenan said when she finally told them what was going on. "Do you need help finding him or anything?" She seemed to lose Frank a lot, not that he was going to comment on that. He looked to Ivy to see if she would be willing to help. She shrugged and sat up, placing her book on the table. There was nothing better to do. {{ haha fire definitely keeps it interesting XD }}
Evalina smiled at his offer, warmed by the kindness, "Oh, yes please!" She replied, her purple hair already covering her face as she ducked under the table again for a few seconds, searching. "He shouldn't have gotten far, but he's feeling very adventurous today, so he's been hopping off everywhere alone." She sighed, as if it was the most normal thing in the world. It was a true fact that people were close to their pets and often personified the things that they did, no matter how small, but Evalina often took it to a whole new level. "Thanks so much for helping!" she added, as she moved a couple steps away, looking between the legs of chairs.

"My room. Hurry," was all Ari could force out before he's racing back towards the door to the Ravenclaw tower - only. It's. Locked.
He swore viciously and kicked at the door. "Come on! Let us in!"
"Feed me and I live," the brass knocker responded.
"[bleep] you!"
"Wrong answer," hums the enchanted eagle. Its attention seems to turn towards the girl Ari had dragged along with him. "Feed me and I live. Give me a drink and I die. What am I?"
Anne nodded, excitement bubbling in her chest. Excitement. Over a fire? How intriguing, she thought. But as the boy cursed and kicked viciously at the door, a spark of fear swept across her skin, suddenly realising that they didn't have time to waste. As the brass knocker began a riddle, Anne listened, but the other boy interrupted it before it had finished. She hadn't quite caught on yet, and so was confused by his reaction, however, the brass knocker then appeared to turn it's attention towards her. Interesting, considering she wasn't a Ravenclaw, but as she heard the full riddle, the irony wasn't lost on her. One of the oldest and most common riddles, Anne luckily knew the answer. And it was lucky, she was okay at riddles, but it often took her a while to figure them out. She appreciated them though, and with this one especially, the irony was not lost on her. "Fire." She stated simply, and then glanced at the Ravenclaw, "right? It is fire?" But the question was soon answered as the door swung open. Anne waved her hands vigorously, "LET'S GO!" She exclaimed.

"Enlighten me then, what do you think it is I wouldn't be up for then?" he chuckled as he now leaned forward, propping his elbows on the table as he kept his gaze to her silvers. James barely caught the question as he focused on Slinky, but hearing the last two words, he nodded, once more letting his gave leave the small creature to look at Kita. "Oh yes please!" He exclaimed, still moving in the same direction across the courtyard. No matter the amount of times he let Slinky go for a walk, James never seemed to learn the rat just loved to run away. Sure, if he didn't chase after him, the brown rodent would probably find it's way back to James, where there was food and water and warmth, but there was no garuantee he wouldn't get hurt and that was what had James chasing after him so many times. He opened his mouth to inform Kita of this realisation, but didn't get the chance as Slinky ran himself in a corner, and, having no where else to go, finally wound up safely back in James' hands. "Thank you so much!" He said, smiling at Kita as he held Slinky. "Slinky appreciates the fact you didn't step on him as well." He added with a grin.
Kayleigh grinned as he pretended to be offended by her thinking he wouldn't be up for it. To be honest, she knew that if she phrased it in that way, she could most likely convince Antares to do almost anything. Not that she could deny being any different to that. If there was a challenge thrown out, she was going to win it no matter what the stakes. It was simple for this slytherin girl in that way. You either won or you lost, you were bored or you were entertained. As he asked her to enlighten him as to what it was, she shook her head. "Now that would just ruin the fun, wouldn't it?" She chided lightly. "However, I'll warn you that it involves people, walking and being generally disruptive. You'll also need your wand." She teased vaguely, not quite giving enough to figure it out, but enough to hook his interest. "So. You in?" She whispered dramatically.

From her bag, Lulu looked up to see Charlotte and she smiled once more, waving to her as her classmate trotted up to reach her side. Then she went back to looking in her bag as she listened to Charlotte. "Oh!" she chimed giving a little laugh, "You were asleep when I left, I should've woken you." shrugging lightly Lulu nodded to Charlotte, "Of course I can get you the notes, we didn't do much. Just Charms as usual." finally she pulled out a roll of parchment and handed that to Charlotte before searching once more, "The homework was just to rehearse the few charms there in our notes and we will do them in next class." Finally Lulu seemed to find what she was looking for and she laughed brightly as she pulled out her wand, "I thought I'd lost it again." she laughed looking to Charlotte before tucking the wand into a pocket in her robe. Then her deep brown gaze turned to Charlotte and she beamed, "So, you have a free period now?" she inquired with an arch of her brow.

Charlotte matched Lulu's wave, already grinning. "Thank you so much! I'll copy these over by diner and get them back to you then," Charlotte said, tucking the parchment in her bag carefully. Hopefully, she wouldn't forget where she'd put it in the bag's several pockets, but considering that she'd put it in the first empty spot, she'd probably spend sometime looking for it later. "Yeah, I didn't take any extra electives this year, so I don't have any classes for a bit. Do you want to go do something?" She offered, figuring a break from her work wouldn't make it impossible to keep up, even if NEWT level classes always felt like the left her a little behind.

"Penelope likes to disappear a lot. I think she hates being still and, well, there's only so much she can roam the castle with me before she gets bored or caught." His cat was very much adventurous, so he liked taking her around with him a majority of the time. He kept her out of the library, though, because she would just end up causing a nuisance. Otherwise, he tended to take her out wherever he went. With a sigh, Ivy started to look too, although she tried to be a little more subtle and reserved about it. She loathed looking too noticeable no matter the circumstances, but Kenan had no issues with it. It was amusing for Kenan to see her try to be reserved while still looking around.

She teased vaguely, not quite giving enough to figure it out, but enough to hook his interest. "So. You in?" She whispered dramatically. Kita watched him and then hurried after him quickly, he moved so swiftly that the Ravenclaw barely had time to process what had happened. Then she skidded to a halt as he trapped Slinky in the corner and she watched carefully in case the rat tried to dart between his legs, she would be there to catch him in that instance. James scooped the rat up into his hands and Kita let out a small sigh before looking up to James and giving him a light smile. "I didn't really do much." she replied lightly as her cheeks flushed in the slightest while he praised and thanked her. She looked at the rat happily though and nodded gently, "A Levicorpus spell might help you catch him better." she added lightly, her voice soft and a simple suggestion as she looked back to James before flicking her gaze away lightly.
Antares watched her lightly, brow still arched as she grinned and waited for a moment. Then she explained simply and vaguely what they might be doing. He nodded happily then and laughed a bit. "Alright then." he replied simply, giving a nod to her and then flicking back a bit of the messy deep brown hair that had fallen into his eyes. "I suppose if you don't want to tell me, I guess I'll just have to come along and find out for myself." with that Antares brought himself up to his feet and began to pack up his books and tossed his bag over his shoulder. He pulled his wand out from within his bag and then tucked it into his back pocket instead. A light colored wand because of the Dogwood it was mad from, his wand was rough hewn, holding the shape of the wood it was carve from, and burn-engraved at the bottom with twisted, dark tree branches. The branches stretched only about as far as his hand would cover when held, it was a simple and rather elegant wand, something strange for the boisterous, somewhat-uncouth, young man.

As Charlotte chimed happily in reply, Allelujah tossed a hand over her shoulder, "It's not a problem, if you forget I know where to find you." she winked lightly at Charlotte and then smiled and nodded, stretching her arms above her head a bit. "I've done about the same, I picked up Astronomy on my mother's request but that's about it!" another light nod to Charlotte then as she figured that a break would be nice at this time of the year before things really started to pick up. They'd all just come back so why worry to heavily on school right now. The NEWTS were still a ways away so Lulu felt a break would be rather great. "Why not head down to the lake? It's still nice out so we could lounge and see what we find?" Lulu suggested lightly, arching her brow to Charlotte as they strolled.

Charlotte smiled, tucking a stray curl behind her ear absentmindedly. "The lake sounds nice. If nothing else, we might catch a glimpse of the giant squid grabbing another student," she joked, referencing the fact that it liked to dunk students who sat too close to the shore. She'd been a bit nervous about the squid when she was younger, always worried it would drag a student down for good, but she'd gotten used to the idea of the benevolent trouble maker over time. "Not that I'm hoping anyone goes for an unexpected swim, it's just a bit amusing when it happens to some unsuspecting first year. Almost like a rite of passage, at this point. As long as they can swim." She continued, shrugging a bit.

Lulu laughed lightly at Charlotte's reply and nodded in agreement. "That or getting smacked by the Whomping Willow." She chimed happily in reply as she walked alongside Charlotte. Then she thought for a moment and giggled to herself, "I've seen it happen twice since we got her." she began, looking over to Charlotte with a grin, "Happened to a kid on the Gryffindor Team, showing off flying low over the lake for some younger girls." another laugh as she recalled the incident, "The other time was that girl Margy in the year below us, the one with the crazy black hair." Her hands went around her head as she mimicked the look of their fellow housemate. "She was wading in the water to gather some plants or something, I don't really remember. And then suddenly she was in and then out." Lulu smiled to Charlotte and nodded, "But, maybe we'll get lucky today and see another one!" talkative and friendly as ever, the Grecian young lady enjoyed the company of Charlotte very much.

"I'm always a bit nervous that the Willow's actually hurt them, but it's funny afterwards when you know it hasn't. Or when someone gets all geared up and then provokes it on purpose. I saw a girl do that last year." Charlotte said, remembering a year ago when she'd watched a Gryffindor girl with cushioning charms and pillows stuck to her walk into the tree and get thrown right back out. Then, she smiled again. "I was there for the Gryffindor boy, the look on his face when he dragged himself and his broom back out of the water was absolutely priceless. Should have known better. Poor Margy though, she was probably working on something for Herbiology, she's always had to get extra credit just to pass." Charlotte was also having a pretty good time, trading stories and relaxing, rather than having to face the rush of classes that was about to start.
(Those wands are super cool! I still have to figure out the designs for mine, I picked the woods out just based on wand lore and their stories/personalities.)

(That's what I did for my wands too! Then I just went to Google and Pinterest and searched "aspen wand" or whatever! Then flicked through the photos until I found some that looked to suit the characters!)
Lulu nodded in agreement, "If they don't get hurt than it is indeed pretyy funny. Some people just think they can take on anything." Then she laughed again at that Gryffindor boy and the girl who'd approached the Willow. "Gryffindors and their brave streaks..." she laughed with a bit of a shake of her head. Finally they reached the path down to the lake and she smiled as she tugged off her robe and began to bundle it up and push it into her bag. "I think Margy was fine, just a bit shaken by suddenly getting tugged down." a light smile now upon her lips she nodded once again in agreement, "Herbology isn't always the easiest, I enjoy it quite a bit, it makes sense to me. The names and the uses. I got good scores on my OWLs in that and Potions. Results said I should look into Healer, Herbologist, Potioneer, or Professor." She laughed lightly and shrugged, "I suppose those would fit me well enough. Except for Potioneer, wouldn't want to be cooped up in a dungeonous lab all day just brewing and brewing for hours on end." Lulu gave a silly sort of exhaustive sigh as she laughed and smiled once more to Charlotte.

Charlotte laughed with her, and removed her robe as well, though she draped her robe over her arm rather than stashing it away. She figured spreading it on the grass like a blanket would be a bit more comfortable. "I always thought I would be a healer, but some of my OWLs scores weren't high enough for the required courses on that track. So I took what NEWT level classes I could, and I'm still trying to decide what I'll do with them when I'm done. It's such a big decision, especially with my initial idea being derailed, so I'm still trying to decide," Charlotte didn't seem very upset about her change of plans, she'd always tried to see the positive side. "You could always be different, and brew in a tower full of windows. Nobody said you had to feed into stereotypes. You'd just have to avoid light sensitive potions."

Allelujah listened quietly to Charlotte and smiled as she seemed unphased by the change in her original plans of employment. Her eyes moved ahead of them as they drew closer to the lake now, passing a few other students now and then. Being they were the older of the many students here, the first-years and younger studnets often would avoid too much eye-contact. Lulu found it rather humorous. Then Charlotte suggested being a Potioneer in a tower with windows and her eyes sparked. "That's a marvelous idea!" she chimed brightly as she turned and smiled at Charlotte, "Perhaps I'll take the Divination Tower and turn that into the new Potions classroom!" she chimed again with a smile and a bright laugh. "As for you, I'm sure you'll find something you love. What do you enjoy here at school? What's your favorite class?"
