Kayden, as well, brightened as the other boy seemed too as well. Nodding he eagerly thought of possibly making two new friends. To this young boy, that was the world. he had always prided himself on being able to meet new people, something his sister never seemed to be able to accomplish. Eager to get to the library now, Kayden led the way. Upon walking into the room, he looked around, and actually managed to spot his sister. Not that she was hard to miss with her green hair. "So, can you see you're friend?" He asked lightly.

"Umm..." Kenan looked around and soon spotted Ivy browsing the shelves with a serious look on her face. It made chuckle with how intense she looked. "There she is." He quietly made his way behind her, raising a finger to his lips so Kayden wouldn't say anything. With a grin, he suddenly hugged Ivy from behind, snickering as she flinched and almost dropped her books.
"Kenan!" she hissed, turning as he let go. She shifted the books to one arm so she could hit him over the head. "Don't do that!"
"Hi Ives," he said, continuing to grin. "This is Kayden. We're friends now!" He gestured to Kayden with a flourish and she turned to him with a critical eye.
Ivy narrowed her eyes, tilting her head and looking him up and down. Deeming him acceptable, she nodded and softened her gaze. "Hello. I'm Ivy. Pleasure to meet you."

Kayden waited patiently, his eyes narrowing in on the girl as Kenan's gaze landed on her as she browsed the shelves. Half wondering why she looked so serious, Kayden bit his tongue as he watched with amusement as Kenan scared his friend. He barely bit back a short laugh as Kenan got hit over the head by the girl, who, apparently, did not appreciate getting scared. Kayden could say he shared that sentiment with her. As Kenan introduced him, Kayden gave the girl a small wave, finding no need to repeat his name, considering Kenan had just done that. He smiled at the fact he was called a friend now as well.
His smile lessened slightly as the girls critical eye looked him up and down. Beginning to wonder if all slytherins got that look about them when meeting someone new, considering his sister did the exact same thing, he quickly dismissed the notion as her gaze suddenly softened and she formally introduced herself. "Same to you, Ivy." he replied smoothly, and then after a moment, "I hope I'm not getting in the way or anything, I just met Kenan and I can never pass up an opportunity to make a new friend."

Ivy shrugged. She silently approved of the fact that he didn't shy away from her like some younger kids tended to do. "You're not. I was just getting some books for Kenan, and he was probably going to bounce ideas off of me again. You're free to listen as well. I'm sure he'll appreciate it."
"You talk as though I'm not here," Kenan huffed playfully. He took the books from her arms, flipping through them with an intent gaze. "But thank you! These are amazing!"
"Honestly, what even are those books?" Ivy sighed. She looked at Kayden again. "Would you like to sit down? It's probably best before he starts getting into explaining everything about, I don't know, ancient Scandinavian magic. I don't really know." She couldn't comprehend about half of the things he told her. He was a great tutor, but when he got interested in something, she couldn't possibly understand any of it. She tried to listen as best she could, but she often found her mind straying. Not that Kenan minded. He was content with just having someone hear him say words. He didn't actually need a response.

Kayden's smile didn't fade as he was assured he wasn't getting in the way. But he nodded thoughtfully at the mention of being invited to listen to Kenan 'bouncing ideas off of' Ivy. That could be interesting, and he was certain that it would lead to some interesting conversations. He hadn't gotten close to many ravenclaws, but those that he did know, Kayden had often found to be relatively entertaining to listen to, even if sometimes they went a bit fast for him to understand everything they were saying.
Even as Kenan took the books from his friend and instantly began looking through them, Kayden was getting the strong sense that he may enjoy spending more time with these two. They just seemed to be so friendly and open with each other.
With an amused huff at the mention of possible ancient scandinavian magic, Kayden welcomed the offer to sit down and led the way to a nearby table. From here, he could still see his sister, who ap[peared to be talking to some other slytherin boy. Knowing what a rarity that was for her, he made no plans to interrupt the conversation. "So," He began as they sat, "what topic is it going to be?" Kayden kind of hoped it would be something he had an idea about, like herbology or potions, even magical creatures held an interest for him. Ancient scandinavian magic however, was not something he was familiar with.

{We need some sort of plot. Hmm....}
"It is not, unfortunately, ancient Scandinavian knowledge like Ivy would want you to believe," Kenan said, narrowing his eyes at his friend. She shrugged at him in response, a small smirk on her face. "It is actually some history stuff. I'm totally into history, by the way, so that's why I have these." He waved a few books in the air. "Research and all that. Like, oh nmy god does no one know how interesting history is?"
"History is the past, Kenan," Ivy said idly, as though they had had this conversation before. "This is now."
"History is doomed to repeat itself if people don't learn from it," Kenan retorted, pointing at her dramatically. "For example, I was looking at wizarding influences during muggle wars right? Because like there's no way wizards could just not get involved in such large scale things! And so..." He began babbling, not stopping to take a breath or even ask for their input. He didn't actually need to hear their thoughts so much as he wanted to get it out. Ivy sometimes thought that he would explode if he didn't get to talk about his research.
With her small smirk still plastered on her face, she leaned close to Kayden to mutter, "He's going to go on for a while. You don't have to listen entirely." If Kenan noticed--which he did--he didn't draw any attention to it.

{{ Hhhmmmmm I'm gonna bring in Evalina for now then, and I guess we can kind of see what happens until we think of something? }}
Kayden lent back with an amused smile, raising his arms and linking his fingers behind his head. The topic of muggle war sounded vaguely intriguing, and as Kenan talked, Kayden half listened, hearing some interesting points scattered throughout. He became increasingly distracted however, as a rather large toad hopped onto the table they were sitting at. A croak from the creature demanded Kayden's attention, and he stopped listening entirely, leaning forward and staring at the creature.
"Oh, Frank! There you are!" A soft voice was suddenly saying, and before Kayden's eyes a girl with pastel purple hair seemed to appear. "Sorry folks, Frank likes to run off by himself sometimes." She said with a smile, gently picking up the toad. "Kenan. Ivy." She said, nodding to each in turn. Evalina knew Kenan from her house, both being in the same year as well, Ivy she knew only by the slytherin's association with her fellow house member.

{Sure I guess}
Kenan abruptly stopped talking as the toad appeared, but he was about to start talking when his housemate appeared. "Hello Evalina!" he chirped. "Don't worry about him! We don't mind. Right, Ives?" Ivy hummed in response, offering a small wave, but nothing else to the girl. She recognized her, but she wouldn't have remembered her name if Kenan hadn't said it just then. She didn't really register in her life, so she had discarded her knowledge of her. "Did you want to sit with us?" Kenan asked. "Or were you busy? I was just talking about the possible influences of wizards on muggle wars! Seem interesting?" He, unlike Ivy, made the effort to get to know people, so he knew that Evalina spent a lot of time doing her own thing. He understood if she didn't want to sit with them. He was the same, in a way. He could never just sit still.

((hiiii what up :3))
willowflower - katherine "kat" witherspoon - 14/4th year - gryffindor she's a short gal with hair that changes every two weeks, depending on her mood. always a smirk on her face, she's pudgy, she's fast, she's got a face full of freckles and brown eyes that seem to try and cut away at your mind. - kat's got an exuberant sort of way of talking to people, often nosing in on other people's businesses and enjoying gossip and rumor way too much. she's got a propensity to spying and eavesdropping without a hint of shame. people and scandal are her bread and butter; yes indeed, if you need to know for sure your beau isn't cheating on you, kat's your teen private eye. seriously, she's actually making a business out of that hobby. shrewd with an eye for profit, kat's not afraid of a risky investment or two. or venturing places she shouldn't. or playing dangerous games. and if she loses? well, it's all part of the fun. black walnut with phoenix feather, 13 1/4'', unyielding - bat - a ginger tom named thomas, or "tom-tom" - none at Hogwarts - none - gryffindor chaser. (could she be a metamorphmagus?)
willowflower - mycle adair - 16/6th year - slytherin mycle is small and round and of japanese descent, with jet-black hair falling over his soft brown eyes. there's a little mole at the corner of his left eye. he is very insecure about his weight, which lies in the overweight category, and is even more insecure about his diplegic cerebral palsy. he usually uses a wheelchair to get around campus. - he's very shy and timid, anxiety holding him back a lot of the time when it comes to social interaction, though when you get to know him he has a very dry and dark sense of humor. he is also painfully emotional and sensitive, prone to tears and taking things too personallytm. empathetic to a fault, he is almost ridiculously selfless and kind. although he believes himself to be quite stupid (when he's more naive than anything), he possesses an almost cursed intelligence that delves into complicated mazes and spirals of thought processes that make his brain ache - of course, this means he's often riddled with self-doubt with a good dose of nihilism. mycle is incredibly ambitious: his determination to leave his mark on the world and leave it for the better, mainly through his writing, but his insecurities are often a high wall in trying to reach his goals. he strongly believes in the power of words and is very passionate and opinionated on the issues plaguing humankind. vine with unicorn hair, 11 1/2'', hard - black swan - pygmy owl named bartimaeus - none at hogwarts. his guardians send him daily owls. - none - he's trying to write a book. key word: trying.
willowflower - ari bhardwaj - 15/5th year - ravenclaw let's see, he's got wild hair that falls to his shoulders, dark brown and curly. his eyes gleam a bright green, a sharp contrast to his dark skin. he has a hooked nose and high cheekbones. ari stands on the shorter side at 5'2, and is a little too skinny for his own good. he wears a body-powered prosthetic from his upper left arm down. - ari is a lot like your typical housecat: the ever so infamous aloof, prideful jerk who knocks cups off tables, will fall off those same tables, and is completely, and utterly, himself. bitter, sarcastic, and cynical, ari's dealing with some issuestm right now. he's a loner and he likes it that way. doesn't mean he stays away from people though - he likes to pick fights and push people's buttons to see how far he can go. he has a deep love and respect for intellect and quick wit, ready to devour as much information he can get his hands on. his mind needs to be challenged though, lest he be writhing in boredom and apathy. ari is honest and expects honesty and return, even though his beloved truth can be a little too cruel. still, he's got a soft heart, and literally can't refuse anyone who genuinely needs his help. ebony with unicorn hair, 13 3/4'', surprisingly swishy - calico cat - a cat of course: a kitten named gerbil - none at hogwarts. an annoying mom and stepsister who owl him frequently - none - ari is unabashedly gay and trans.

{{ Okies Silv Good to see you back XD yesssss willowflower I've gotta make Anne a character in this now as well so we can get more Ari x Anne friendship and sass <3 <3 <3 will add in a minute }}
Evalina, glad to hear that her troublesome toad hadn't bothered people other than herself, she smiled at the reassurance. She didn't like being an annoyance to others, especially someone from her own house, for she understood the frustration of being in the middle of a topic and getting distracted. On too many occasions Evalina had been sitting, up in a tree, absorbed in a book or something like it, and then been ripped from her imaginative world by a passerby telling her to 'get down from there, this instant young lady!'. She'd never seen the issue with her climbing trees before, after all, there was magic to revert to if she did fall. Not that that would ever happen, because she was a great climber. Bringing herself back off of the tangent she'd led herself down, she was just in time to hear Kenan ask if she was interested in the possible influences of wizards on muggle wars. With a small gasp, Evalina nodded, sitting down, her eyes wide with interest. "I most certainly am!" She informed her fellow Ravenclaw. Although Evalina was quite a solitary person, and enjoyed being alone, if there was a topic that interested her she could talk to another person for hours on end. "To what extent do you reckon they got involved though? There's a lot of debated as to if we even did, but surely we must have helped somehow!" she prattled on, stopping herself to let Kenan actually answer the questions before she got too carried away.

[[ Hello! I hope you don't mind if I join~ ]]
โงchasinghazelโง - Rosie Aldaine - 15/5th - Gryffindor Gracie has a short but strong build of only 5'2. Her freckled olive skin is covered with scars and bruises - half are attained from playing quidditch, the other half from picking fights with schoolmates. Her wheat colored hair is cut into a bob that glosses her chin which has the tendency to curl in the most random places. She has slightly elvish features - an upturned nose, slightly pointed ears, and a mischievous grin. Her eyes are hazel with a hint of judgement and disappointment. Gracie loves wearing skirts and dresses, mainly because she looks really badass beating up bullies in them. - What she doesn't have in height she makes up in attitude, even if she may come out as slightly loud and obnoxious. She might be violent at times but is also very affectionate - to the point of crossing some people's personal boundaries. She studies hard in order to be the best and is very ambitious overall. Being an open bisexual, she often makes bad puns and finger guns. That is usually what stays in people's minds after meeting her. Being an only child, a lot of pressure was put onto her having the best grades out of anyone in her class. Unfortunately, having a short attention span prevented her from achieving that. Instead she chose to focus on something else - being a Beater on the quidditch team to get rid of all that teen angst. Dogwood with a dragon heartstrong core and 12 3/4" in length - West Highland Terrier - White cat names Finn - N/A - N/A - Beater for the Gryffindor quidditch team

{Well this thread suddenly became active in the twelve hours I wasn't online lol. It feels like everybody was active today}
"I know right? There's no way wizards couldn't have gotten involved!" Kenan exclaimed, before quieting down when he remembered they were in a library. He didn't want to get kicked out. Again. It happened far too many times and it was always because he could never manage to keep his voice down. He needed to work on that. "I'm thinking it was mostly half-bloods and muggleborns who got involved because purebloods don't really understand muggle weapons usually," he continued in a quieter voice. "The muggle to wizard ratio is way too big and muggle wars tend to be too large scale for us to not get involved. If we take that into account, I'm sure there had to be wizarding influence on battles, right? What do you think?"
Ivy shook her head as they got to talking, not understanding what was going on at all anymore. She only paid enough attention so she could get by in school with relatively good grades. She did get what Kenan was trying to say, but the rest of it was mostly lost on her. "Ravenclaws," she murmured. She started flipping through one of her own books, continuing to only pay a small amount of attention to the conversation going on in front of her.

((yaaas bring on the sass ~ i wasnt sure whether this is going to have connections with our other rp but i was thinking of situating this before ari met mycle/mycle met kayleigh to make it interesting
also hi everyone!))
Ari audibly growled at his Charms notes. He didn't even want to think about homework, but what else is there to do? Lounge around on his bed and waste away in his dorm drowning in boredom? Technically he could go outside, but goodness knows he couldn't muster the will to stand. "Accio!" he called, lazily drawing an arch with his wand. He watched with his head resting on his desk as nothing happened. His wand hand drooped.
Gerbil got bored digging around on the cloak he left on the desk and wandered over to climb onto his head. Despite his frustrations, Ari couldn't help an annoyed chuckle. "Get off, you brat," he said, making no move to get said kitten off his head. It was getting rather uncomfortable, Gerbil's claws digging into his scalp in an effort to stay perched on his curls, but the pain was actually a nice distraction.
"Why don't I work on Transfiguration instead and try to Vanish you, you little [bleep]?" Ari mumbled without much bite, shaking his head to dislodge the kitten. Stupid thing. What a genuis idea, to give him a pet for "company" - he half hopes it had been Lindy, because if it had been his mum's idea that would be very concerning. If she tried to care any more she might drop dead from the effort.
He successfully shakes the cat out of his hair and half-heartedly lifts himself up to jab his wand at the kitten. Gerbil prances away, but he says it anyway. "Evanesco, fleabrain!"
His Charms notes catch on fire.
Ari blinks, staring, watching for a few seconds as the impossible tall fire licks the ceiling, before the smell catches in his nose and he finally reacts, shoving himself away. While he's read ahead in all his boredom, he has in no way practiced Aguamenti and was not going to attempt that now.
He'll just run now. Into the Ravenclaw common room. Maybe out into the hall if there's no one to drag to his room to put his fire out.
((honestly ari you need to stop setting things on fire))

{{ sure thing โงchasinghazelโง I'll do that tomorrow when I'm on next and also willow, I can't believe that as soon as Ari arrives he's setting things on fire XD it suits so well as well, I'm literally internally screaming ORIGIN STORY right now because yeeesssss, obvs it would change a few things from what we did, considering Anne and Ari hadn't met, but I like it a lot, and also since I don't have any other characters free right now, Anne can be in the hall to help with the fire XD }}
Evelina nodded along in agreement as Keenan talked, her mind buzzing with thoughts on the topic. It was something she hadn't often thought of, that was for sure, preferring topics more creative than destructive. However, it did have its merit and Kenan had some good points, the way he presented them intriguing her to know more. "I agree. Some purebloods would have gotten involved, but for the most part, I reckon muggleborns led the charge, after all, they probably knew what muggle wars were like, which is why we got involved in the first place." She said. "I have to say, from what knowledge I have, their wars are very violent and very, very long, if there was some way to help them, I'm sure as man of us able to did, even if they didn't fully understand. How much we effected the outcomes of those wars is another thing as well, though. I mean, what if we helped the wrong side, you know?" Evalina considered. Kayden, still half listening agreed whole-heartedly with Ivy's comment of simply 'Ravenclaws'.
---
Anne had found herself wandering. She often did this when she was bored of her homework, and so on this particular day, it was no different. Where she'd ended up, she wasn't completely sure if she was being perfectly honest, but it didn't really matter at this point, because she was still determined to not turn back to the gryffindor common room just yet. As she came to the bottom of a set of steps, which led up to a tower, she realised that the Ravenclaw common room was nearby, just at the top of the stairs. Curious, she figured, what was the worst that could happen, and climbed the stairs, ending up in a hallway.

{Hello~
I still have no plot ahhhh}
"Many wizards probably did help the wrong side," Kenan said. He didn't normally care about whether or not he got commentary. He usually bounced ideas off of Ivy and came to conclusions on his own, but he wasn't averse to actually being able to discuss theories. Like Evalina, he wasn't all that interested in destruction most of the time, but it certainly had its own interesting parts. "Some of them probably didn't even know what the wars were about, but I'm guessing they just wanted to help their own countries. They probably helped to advance a fair number of battles. Do you think we had our own battles, away from muggles too? Like, for the sake of war, we had our own battles that kind of weakened the other side because they lost wizards who could help. You get what I'm saying?"

((what up y'all
I KNOW RIGHT xD *anne and ari stands before the roaring flames* ari: ... why do i feel like we've done this before
also ORIGIN STORY ORIGIN STORY))
Ari No one's in the Ravenclaw common room. Darn it. Just when he actually wanted to interact with another human being they all decided to hide away. Oh well - he tore through the door and into the hallway, where, oh thank Merlin, there was someone standing there as if sent by the universe itself.
Ari ran right up to the blonde and seized their shoulders, stared right into their eyes, and said, very eloquently, "Fire."
((okie, now starters for my other characters, since ari's was so ridiculously long x3))
Mycle He really should be working on his Transfiguration essay, but he couldn't tear his eyes away from the novel that sat in his hands. He was curled up in a quiet corner in the library, sucked into the story of a lonely rogue wizard leading a rebellion against a dystopian government. More books were stacked precariously nearby, the thick book on top threatening to topple over with the slightest brush against the table. Mycle barely noticed it wobble every time his elbow hit the table.
At a particularly cruel death, he audibly gasped with a soft, horrified "No." He flattened the book against the table, making the pile of books tremble nervously, and leaned over it, eyes darting over the page, disbelieving. Absorbed in the grief of the main character, he hardly registered the tickle in his throat until the words were swimming his tears. Unfazed, he blinked, letting the tears roll down his cheeks. Crying in public over a book stopped bothering him a long time ago, seeing how often it happened - and after a while, people stopped noticing him at all. (Not that it hurt or anything, but he couldn't help but feel a little bitter when he was crying in class itself and no one spared him a glance.)
Besides, he died and Rowan didn't get to tell him that he loved him and everything's horrible -
Kat Let's see, where's that book on the Giant War? Kat mused as she wandered down the aisles of the library. She turned a corner and saw someone in a wheelchair crying their eyes out, clutching a really, really thick book. Books that must've been stacked on the table had collapsed in a messy pile on the floor.
Not wanting to bother him, she slowly inched away. Meh, I'll get it later, she thought as she trotted out with a book on Muggle technology instead. She hopped into the Gryffindor common room and headed straight for the comfiest couch, curling up with her new book.

{{ also to make it kind of interesting, Frank is going to hop away some where and they can search for him XD }}
Evalina listened with a fierce interesting, slightly surprised how involved she was getting with the topic. It was one she would never have thought to explore, but as Keenan bounced off her ideas, and she off his, she found it to be interesting on a whole new level than if she was exploring it on her own. Interesting. She nodded as he mentioned that many wizards probably did fight on the wrong side, and that some probably didn't even know what the wars were about. She figured that that made too much sense to be false. As he mentioned wars between wizards, she cringed internally, not enjoying the thought of that at all. Reflexively reaching for Frank, who should have been calmly sitting in her robe pocket, Evalina froze as she couldn't feel him. Scrambling to sit straighter in her chair, she looekd around the foot of her chair and the table, but couldn't see him. With a slight alarm in her eyes she looked to Kieran, then to Ivy and Kayden. "Frank's run off again." She informed them.
---
Anne recoiled as someone suddenly ripped open the door, presumably to the common room, and burst into the hallway. Figuring she'd be in trouble for being up here, she went to back away, but then her shoulders were being grabbed, and someone was staring straight into her eyes. Unsure what to do, thinking she still might be in trouble, she almost laughed as the boy who'd grabbed her shoulder simply stated, 'fire'. "Well that's nice to know." she said with a small smile, kind of thinking they were joking. But then it faltered as they continued to look into this guys face. "Oh...oh....sh-t! FIRE!" Anne was suddenly being pumped with adrenaline, and her wand was in her hand without her having to think about it. She was basically hopping from foot to foot now, her blonde hair bobbing around her shoulders. "Well! Come on! Where is it!" she demanded.

{Well a fire is one way to have a meet-cute}
Kenan was happy to keep going on and on, but he stopped when Evalina suddenly sat up straighter and started looking around. He watched her, blinking with slight confusion. Ivy started paying a small amount of attention too, but all she really did to react was glance over her book and raise an eyebrow. "Oh!" Kenan said when she finally told them what was going on. "Do you need help finding him or anything?" She seemed to lose Frank a lot, not that he was going to comment on that. He looked to Ivy to see if she would be willing to help. She shrugged and sat up, placing her book on the table. There was nothing better to do.

"My room. Hurry," was all Ari could force out before he's racing back towards the door to the Ravenclaw tower - only. It's. Locked.
He swore viciously and kicked at the door. "Come on! Let us in!"
"Feed me and I live," the brass knocker responded.
"[bleep] you!"
"Wrong answer," hums the enchanted eagle. Its attention seems to turn towards the girl Ari had dragged along with him. "Feed me and I live. Give me a drink and I die. What am I?"
