Mika looked st his line then back at the stranger. "Well, yes... You don't fish much, do you?" He checked. How long had he been fishing without a hook? Couldn't be too long... He picked up the bait bucket and placed it on the other side of himself between them. "Do you want to borrow a hook and bait?" He offered.

"There should be some plastic bags to separate them," Naomi said, pointing to the box next to the freezer containing them. Her mind was now preoccupied with calculating prices, which was not something she liked to do.
Is it that obvious? Finn stared at the bucket of bait. "Uh...yea...no..I don't fish too much." He said awkwardly. "Would that really be okay?" he asked, referring to Mika's offer.

"Sure." Mika nodded, taking the bag of hooks out of his pocket again. He set it down next to the bucket for the stranger to use as he needed. "You'll want to get a better pole at some point, but that should do for starting out." He said simply, looking back at the water before casting his line out.

"Thank you" Finn said quietly. He grabbed a hook and attempted to tie his line around it with his clumsy fingers. Listening to what Mika said, he nodded. "I guess I do need a new one", he said weakly. I also should have known that I would have to talk to someone out here! Pulling his hat back over his head again, he grabbed a piece of bait, skewered it onto the hook, then plopped his line into the water directly below him.

Irena turned her head where Naomi was pointing, finding the box she was referring to. "Good! Vould hate to ruin sanitation score." She took some plastic bags out and carefully wrapped the eel in one of them. "Now, prices. Bartender usually buys eel for 85 one piece, halibut 80. Maybe diskount for you." she said with a wink.

Mika stole a glance at the pole again, making sure the hook was knotted correctly. Well, maybe it wasn't perfect but it would hold. "I mean, it should hold you a while longer. You can wait to replace it." He added. It seemed more and more people were fishing lately... He might have to try his hand at foraging in the woods or mountains if he wanted to keep making money and not end up stuck working at the Joja Store. He looked back at his line, waiting quietly for a bite.

Naomi smiled at that. She knew that most of the seafood courses costed around 100-150 gold, so there would be some profit in this. "Alright then, I won't question my boss. I'll pay you in his office." She walked out of the kitchen and into the office next door. Fishing a key out of her apron, she grabbed a metal box out of a desk drawer and used the key to unlock it.

"Um...How much would one cost?" Finn asked. He didn't know if he would have enough money for one, but if he kept up his shifts at JojaMart then maybe he could afford a real fishing pole. This one was literally just a stick. If I even want to keep fishing, that is. I don't like this so far.

"A basic pole should run around five hundred. Prices only go up from there." He said, then he paused to consider. Did he have any older poles laying around? Maybe... He'd have to check. "I might have one I don't use anymore. If you want it, you can take it." His attention turned back to the water as he felt a small tug on his line. He pulled the pole, trying to set the hook, but the line went slack. He might have pulled too soon. He left the line in the water, waiting for another bite.

Irena followed Naomi into the office, waiting patiently for her payment. "Do you get good pay here?" she asked out of curiosity. "Fishing is less stable pay. It supports me zough." Irena enjoyed fishing for a living. Sometimes the fish wouldn't bite, but she always managed to get by somehow. She wondered if working at the saloon was a fulfilling job. Probably not.

Finn was silently freaking out a little at Mika's offer. "Oh n-no, that's fine", he stammered, before he too felt a tug at his line. The tug was infinitesimal, and he merely needed to lift the pole out of the water to realize that it was a little sardine at the end of his hook. "Well, it's something at least...." he sighed.

"Alright, if you're sure." Mika replied. He looked over when he heard the surface of the water break and he smiled as he saw the fish. "It's a start." He nodded. He looked back at the water, leaning on the rail a bit as he waited for a bite. He had the patience to sit all day in silence here. The sound of the waves crashing on the beach and the smell of salt water were nostalgic and relaxing. He could sleep out here.

Finn smiled weakly back at Mika, then at the fish. He then unhooked the sardine and tossed it back into the water. "Be free, little fish", he said softly. Then he took another piece of bait and readied the fishing pole again. But Finn's eyes were getting droopy, probably out of boredom from waiting; so he rested his head against the rail, and several minutes later the smallest snoring could barely be heard over the sound of the waves.

Mika lifted his head at the first sound of something other than the water and wind. He looked over at the stranger a moment, unsure how to wake him. After deciding, he reeled his line in and cast sideways. The hook landed past the stranger's line and he began to reel in, letting his line catch the other before giving a light tug to make the line bounce.

Finn felt the slight tug and woke up in excitement. I got another fish?! He eagerly lifted his pole out of the water. But there was no fish, and the bait was still there; the tug was coming from another fishing line caught in it. His eyes followed the other fishing line back to the stranger, where he stared at his face with a quizzical expression.

"Well, a lot of people do come here on nights when they're feeling down. Most of them like to have a beer or some wine with their meals to drown their troubles." And their sorrows meant a bigger paycheck for Naomi. "Can't say I blame them though. Anyways, here's your payment." She placed the exact amount that was owed into the blue girl's hand.

Irena grinned. "Nothing like little alkohol to vash avay day. You should come get drink vith me sometime." She then realized exactly what she had just said. They were both underage! "In secret, zough. Vouldn't vant to get kaught." she said with another wink. Usually it wasn't a problem for Irena, people just assumed she was of drinking age. She closed her hand around the cash and put it in her wallet.

Mika gave a small smile, ducking his head a bit. "Sorry, you fell asleep. Seemed like the best way to wake you." He explained before he reeled in his line. He double-checked the bait hadn't come loose and cast it out again, this time straight ahead of himself.

Naomi smirked a little, which led to a small laugh. "Don't let my boss hear you say that, I'll be fired. But sure, we can get a drink sometime, if you pay."
"Oh...thanks", Finn said, laughing uneasily. "How on earth did I fall asleep?" He gave the other man a large, toothy grin, his pink beanie beginning to slide off his head.

Irena returned the smirk Naomi gave her. "Not problem. I alvays save kash for drinks." (I'm being soo stereotypical rn ommg) She picked up the bucket and headed for the door, rain boots creaking on the saloon floor. "I come see you again, soon. Da svidahnia!"

(Alright then, no worries)
Naomi watched the blue girl leave, rolling her eyes at the entire encounter. She knew her boss would be back shortly, and she would have to tell them she was able to haggle an entire halibut off of the fisher. That would get her some praise for sure. Sighing, she re-positioned her oversized apron and walked back out to the dining area, where people were beginning to file in for brunch.

(Was gonna continue roleplaying Irena but I think I'll give her a rest for now)
Christopher was going through the aisles in the library, checking for any missing, unaccountable books. It seemed that every book was in its correct place...or was it? His green eyes went back and forth, searching the shelves. Ah...there. He certainly didn't remember checking that particular book out to anyone. Was it stolen? It better not be. He searched around the room; perhaps someone had merely forgotten to put it back. As he passed by one of the tables he spotted it out of the corner of his eye, resting open on the table. It was then that he remembered, Stupid me, he was the one who left it there that morning and forgot to put it away. Sighing, he gingerly picked up the book and slid it back into place on the shelf.
He glanced at the clock, realizing that it was time for his break. Normally he would spend it downstairs, eating lunch and reading one of the books over again. But the darkness of his room simply wasn't appealing today. Nor was the food he ate every day. Perhaps he needed a change, if just for today. I'm in the mood for...cauliflower. Cheese cauliflower. he thought to himself. Perhaps he would go to the farm during his break, maybe Cyrus or Jolene would have some. Then he could return to the shady comfort of his abode and try his hand at cooking.
He stepped outside and closed the door behind him. It was a fine spring day, it seemed he wouldn't need his jacket. Then Christopher set off for Evergreen Farm.

(Yea I think it's good to cycle through characters every now and then)
Lunch time was approaching, and the day was quite warm, with the sun seeming to beat down on the workers at Evergreen farm. Cyrus and Jolene were tending to the crops together; Cyrus was combing through the field of parsnips while Jolene was taking care of the garlic. The garlic didn't take very long to grow; and although it was early in the season, some of them were already to be picked. Cyrus glanced up at the sky, then called to Jolene from across the field. She stood up from behind the stalks of garlic to look at her boss, hands full of them already. "It's almost lunch time, go ahead and take a brake!", he exclaimed. Jolene was happy for that, since her stomach was growling ferociously. "What about you?" she asked. "I'm in the swing of things right now, so I don't feel like stopping just yet. You can go ahead and get yourself something to eat!" Cyrus called back with a smile. Jolene smiled too; he was a really generous boss, and genuinely enjoyed what he did. "Alright then, see you later!" The auburn-haired girl then turned and started hiking towards the farmhouse with her picked garlic.

Christopher walked up to the farmhouse, spotting the two farmers outside. "Um, hello!" he greeted in an awkward tone, raising his hand behind his head and shifting his eyes to the side. "I uh, was wondering if you guys had a cauliflower to spare."
