(Sure!)
Lucas had fallen asleep somewhat easily despite being the company of a stranger. The truth was that he was exhausted and needed the rest, and he was willing to risk his life to get it. It really wasn't any different from him trying to get rest elsewhere and not knowing where the hunters were. He rolled over and ended up on his back, and part of his shirt lifted enough to reveal the bottom of a tattoo along the right side of his stomach and chest. If asked about it, it was unlikely he'd talk about it because it was a story he wasn't entirely comfortably telling.

Valk had remained sitting in place, listening to the sounds of the city outside. As they grew quieter, she opened her eyes and stood up. She deemed the streets safer for vampires a few minutes after the silence started. She looked toward the other vampire, a little surprised he'd fallen asleep so easily. That seemed like too much trust to just hand over to a stranger. She considered giving him a fright in order to prevent him from making the same mistake with the wrong person...
She took a few silent steps over toward where he'd ended up laying, analyzing the best way to startle him. She pulled her jacket off one arm at a time as she calculated, kneeling down with he jacket a few inches from his face. She needed to make sure this didn't backfire and he didn't claw or do her any real damage. She decided it might be best to pin his hands in one of hers and to pin his mouth through the jacket so he wouldn't be able to shout and draw attention. She waited another second before acting, dropping the jacket and grabbing the sides of his jaw between her fingers to keep him from opening it, and in the same motion, she grabbed one wrist in her other hand and moved to pin the other.

Lucas mumbled something in his sleep as he rolled slightly onto his side. His shirt fell to cover the tattoo, and he rolled back onto his back. Months of being on the run had turned him into a relatively light sleeper, so his eyes shot open as soon as the jacket was dropped on him. He attempted to say, "What the [flip]" as he attempted to quickly process what was happening, but his words were muffled because she prevented him from opening his mouth. His eyes then narrowed as he swiftly lifted a knee to make contact with her body as he reached to grab her with his free hand before she would be able to pin it down like she had done with the other one.
His thoughts immediately jumped to the worst case scenario, and he quite possibly considered that this could be the end for him. Of course, he never expected to meet his end this, and he would be damned if it truly was his end. It was pathetic anyway to be killed because he wanted a well-deserved nap. Lucas then began to struggle in her grip as his survival instinct kicked in.

Well, she'd done it. She'd given the kid a panic attack. She let her grip on his wrist loosen so he could pull free and sat up a bit, only narrowly avoiding receiving a knee to her side. If she'd been more than just one, she'd have had someone hold his legs, but whatever, he point had been made. She let go of his jaw, though she still held on to the jacket, lifting it as she retracted her hand. She held her words for now and watched, ready to block if he tried to make an attack.

As soon as she had loosened her grip on his wrist, Lucas pulled his arm away from her. As she released his jaw, he sat up as he silently rubbed at his wrist. His eyes remained narrowed as he looked over at her, waiting to see if she would try anything else now that he was awake. "Well, what the hell was that for?" he finally asked, breaking the silence. He was angry - there was no doubt about that - but he wasn't stupid enough to do something that would bring them unwanted attention.

Valk stood up, crossing her arms. "Consider it a lesson in what sort of trust to offer strangers. This world doesn't welcome us, it never has. You can't afford to give anyone the benefit of the doubt or let your guard down for a second." She shifted her stance to lean more weight on her right foot. "You fell asleep and left yourself vulnerable. No matter how light of a sleeper you might be, you left yourself open to attack. Maybe I didn't have any real malicious intent, but you don't have that guarantee from anyone else. Never make this mistake again."

Lucas remained silent, not entirely knowing how to respond to what she had said. While she may have taught him a lesson, it completely contrasted with what he had been taught during his upbringing. From what he could remember, his family had been decently liked, though he was unsure about how many people had known they were vampires. And before they had split, his parents had told him that not everyone would be out to get him. "And why exactly did you feel the need to teach me a lesson about trusting strangers?" he asked. Did she not think he was capable of taking care of himself? He had made it this far, and dammit, he planned to make it a lot longer without dying.

"Even the most powerful beasts are vulnerable if they don't pay attention." Valk replied, planting both fists on her hips as she spoke. "No matter what, there will be times when you can't be on guard. You should at least make sure the person who's there with you at that time is someone you can trust." She paused as she tried to think of an example. "Look, I invited you in here. The fact that I approached you should have at least made you more cautious."

Lucas shrugged, supposing she did have a point even if he hated how she had proven it. "And what if there's no one around to back me up when I can't be on guard?" He asked, more so wanting to see her response to the question than asking for advice about what to do in those situations. Maybe he should have been more cautious about taking the nap, but dang it, he had enjoyed the much-needed nap while it had lasted.

"Then you have to lock down your surroundings." Valk replied. "You have to make yourself completely inaccessible. This is not the place for that either. Anyone could enter this building. If you want to sleep unguarded, you have to prepare traps, obstacles, false paths. It's not easy, but it's worth the precaution." She explained. She wished there was an easier way to explain this. Back in the day, you could tuck into a tower or catacomb easily and no one would find a way to you for several days. Those had been the best sleeps. But now, there were very few places like these that weren't heavily guarded or deteriorated to where it wouldn't be save to sleep in them.

He nodded once. While she did have a point, it seemed like overkill to him. He hadn’t ever run into an issue while sleeping until now, and the only precautions he typically took were taking naps in the middle of nowhere and hoping that no one snuck up on him. Lucas didn’t want to argue with her after the little stunt she had pulled earlier, so he remained silent.
